After becoming gennin, all we did was go on D rank missions. The first few missions were boring, until Sakura found out a way to practice teamwork and healthy competition between all of us. 

We all split the job into four equal parts and Kakashi sensei would decide who completed their task the quickest and most efficiently. Needless to say, Naruto and Sasuke argued less during missions and Sakura and I bonded well as she, Ino, Hinata and I hung out often . 

We even kept score. The one with the highest score at the end of all the D ranks would get to slave the other 3 around for a day. Currently the score was

Sasuke - 3

Naruto - 3

Sakura - 4

Akina - 4

Naruto was focused throughout the missions and barely made mistakes. Kakashi sensei and the Hokage were amused by our little game. But, our game would be paused temporarily if our mission was something like catching Tora or babysitting kids. 

Yes, they expected a couple of 12 and 13 year olds with sharpened kunais and paper bombs to take care of 5 year old brats.

So when we got another Tora mission for the second time in the week, we all simultaneously groaned.

"How the hell will I beat Sakura chan and Akina chan if I don't go on proper missions?" Naruto shouted as Sasuke nodded slightly.

I finally exploded.

"HOW does the Daimyo's wife lose him EVERY DAY?!! Yesterday I saw Shikamaru capture the cat with his shadow possession and the day before that WE captured him. This is so troublesome." I put my head on Sakura's shoulders as I sighed.

"I must say Akina chan, I myself ask the same question everyday. But we must not question our clients." The Hokage told me sternly but his eyes were shining with amusement.

"Let's go my sweet students." Kakashi said.

"On one condition." I pouted.

Kakashi eyed me wearily. I had assured him that I wouldn't try to pinch his butt or anything obscene like that after the weird scene the other day, but he wasn't completely reassured.

"You determine our chakra natures, teach us all a small jutsu and teach us tree walking."

We had often complained about how Kakashi didn't teach us anything but he disappeared every time we cornered him.

"And why would I do that?"

Sasuke stared at him blankly. "Because we are your students and Akina won't crack any Icha Icha or perverted jokes for a day." 

I nodded my head in agreement.

He sighed in relief. "Fine. I'll teach you guys something."

Naruto and Sakura jumped with joy.

"This is chakra paper." Kakashi explained as he gave us each a piece of paper.

"When you put a bit of your chakra into it, five different things can happen. If you have fire affinity the paper will burn and turn into ash; for wind it will split into half; for lightning the paper will wrinkle; for earth the paper will become dirt and crumble away and for water the paper will become wet. Now, you all go one by one to see your affinities. I have all except wind." 

Naruto went first. His paper split into half.

Kakashi nodded. "Wind."

Sasuke's paper wrinkled first and then crumbled into ash.

"Sasuke, you have 2 natures. That's rare." Kakashi said.

Naruto pouted and I went to comfort him. "You can always learn one more Naruto. By the way, wind is the rarest affinity. Very few people in the Land of Fire have it so consider yourself lucky." Naruto looked better now and sent me a thumbs up.

Sakura went next. Her paper became wet.

"Water."

It was finally my turn. I sighed, not liking the attention on me, as they formed a circle around me.

"I have three affinities. They are fire, earth and water. I find it easiest to use wood release and then fire jutsus. It puts a strain on my body if I have to use water or earth jutsus seperately." I explained.

"How come she has three affinities but Sakura chan and I have only one, dattebayo!"

"She comes from the Senju and Uchiha Clans. The Uchiha Clan has an affinity for fire. The Senju have it for earth or water. If they get both, then they get their kekkei genkai of wood release." Kakashi explained.

"Think of it as Akina having two natures. Fire and wood." Sasuke spoke up.

 "Sensei, now teach us tree walking."

"Sure, since you asked nicely. I'll teach you all a jutsu once we are done with the tree walking exercise." As Kakashi began to explain it to them I made a kage bunshin of myself and left.

As I was walking around Konoha, I saw Team 10 at a BBQ restaurant.

"Yo, Ino!" I waved at her.

"Akina chan! Training is over?" she asked as she ran over towards me.

"You can say that. I already knew the exercise, so I made a bunshin of myself and left."

"Did Kakashi notice?" asked Asuma as he came walking towards me with Shikamaru and Choji behind him.

I shook my head. "I don't think so. I'm Akina Senju Uchiha."

"Asuma Sarutobi, jonin of Team 10." We shook hands.

"Can she join us for lunch, Asuma sensei? Pleaseeee!" Ino whined.

"So troublesome." Shikamaru muttered.

I let out a laugh. "I wouldn't want to inconvenience you guys."

"You can join us. We don't mind." Choji said shyly, eating his packet of crisps.

"I'll pay for myself then, since Asuma sensei will be paying for all of you guys I presume." Asuma shot me a thankful look.

Shikamaru gave me a curious stare. "How do you know that Asuma sensei pays for us?"

"Just an intuition or call it a lucky guess."

Ino gasped loudly as we made our way inside, pulling me along with her. "She always guesses something and it always ends up coming true. NEVER make a bet with her, I speak from experience."

"Why is that?" Asuma asked, glancing at me curiously.

"Ino! I won't get any money from bets if you tell anyone." I whined.

"As if you need any money, Senju hime." Ino taunted me mockingly.

And so Ino began to tell Team 10 about all the money I'd won from bets and how my 'intuitions' were always right. 

Shikamaru almost seemed disturbed at the amount of luck I had as Choji listened intently. 

Asuma shot me looks filled with curiosity and suspicion. 

I just gave them small smiles and continued eating.

After a heavy lunch, Ino and I headed towards Hinata's home to go and have a spar with her. My kage bunshin's memory filtered into me. 

After explaining tree walking, I performed it in front of Kakashi sensei successfully alongside Sakura. Sakura had a proud smile on her face as Kakashi gave us a nod of approval and began to teach her a water jutsu. 

My kage bunshin vanished into smoke and Kakashi had a look of annoyance on his face when I did so.

We reached the Hyuga household. The guards escorted Ino and I into the living room and told us to wait for Hinata. 

Ino often visited the Hyuga household and became a regular guest. It strengthened the bonds between the Yamanaka's and Hyuga's for their heiress' to be good friends. 

As for me, I was visiting for the first time.

Hinata entered the room. Her clothes were filled with tears and dirt from training.

"I'll take a quick shower and come back soon. Neji nee and I had been sparring for quite sometime."

Neji and Hinata are on good terms? What's happening to the plot line I knew of? Would everything change?

".... that day." Ino finished as she looked at me.

"What?"

Ino pouted annoyed and ready to scold me as Neji walked into the room, his hair glistening with water. He had just taken a bath. I blushed as I took in him.

He looked really hot.

Jesus, calm your tits woman.

Stop thinking about him looking hot!

Great. I was arguing with myself now.

"Neji!" Ino squealed as she got up to hug him.

"Ino." He said calmly as he held her at an arms distance not letting her hug him.

Wait a min-

Since when is he so.... warm? 

Naruto doesn't change him until the Chunnin exams. 

Do they perhaps, like each other?

His pale lavender eyes shot towards me. "Who is this?"

"Time for introductions. Neji this is Akina Senju Uchiha. Akina, this is Neji, Hinata's cousin."

His eyes widened. I got up to shake his hand.

"Nice to meet you Senju hime."

I let out a small chuckle. "Akina is just fine. I'm not used to such titles."

"Then you may call me by my name as well."

I bowed. "Arigato Neji san."

Ino looked at us a frown marring her features.

"Why are you both so respectful? Just hug already." She said as she pushed Neji towards me.

My onyx black eyes widened as he stumbled forwards trying not to fall on me. Using my reflexes, I dodged him and appeared behind him. 

I grabbed out to hold him by his shirt so that he wouldn't fall. Behind me Ino gasped.

Neji recollected himself and whirled around to face Ino, an irk mark on his face.

"Ino..." He said absolutely livid.

Hinata saved the day by entering the room and protecting Ino from her cousin's wrath. Neji left the room, his face red.

"What did you do this time?" Hinata asked as we sat down to talk.

"Well, Akina chan was blushing when Neji entered the room so I pushed him at her so that he could fall on her and that they could kiss."

I opened my mouth in retaliation but nothing came out.

Ino continued, annoyed. "But then this idiot dodged him using her fast reflexes. And my plan failed." Hinata let out a small laugh. 

I looked down, my face burning.

"Ino, stop playing matchmaker when you don't know who to tease her with."

"Who should I tease her with then?"

"No one!" Hinata and I shouted.

"Aww.. You guys are no fun."

"I'm sorry you are facing this Akina chan. I sympathize with you for I have been teased often with Naruto kun." Hinata spoke slightly blushing.

"Akina chan! Battle me." Ino asked her eyes shining with excitement.

"Okay but what about Hinata?"

"She'll judge our match. The Hyuga grounds are amazing for spars. That's why Sakura and I come here so often."

Hinata showed us the way. "Okay. So Ino and Akina, you both go first. Uses of their kekkei genkai are allowed. Whoever wins will go against me." We both nodded.

Ino and I took our places against each other.

"Start!"

I sent three kunais hurling towards Ino one behind another. She blocked them using her kunai. I narrowed my eyes as I currently moved in a zig zag position. She can't use her mind techniques on me if she can't catch me.

(A/n: A few jutsus are made up. Bare with me on this.)

"Earth Release: Practice Barrier Technique."

A mud wall surrounded me, but it was open from the top. Using chakra on my feet I jumped out.

"Mind Body Switch Technique!" Ino yelled as her hands joined together. Her body fell limp. I smirked. It was a bunshin that jumped out.

I ran towards her with a kunai. My eyes widened open as she stood on her feet and she smirked. Kunai clashed against kunai as we both tried to overpower each other. We both jumped back after a second. We ran against each other and we exchanged a series of kicks and punches. We had resorted to taijutsu. I aimed to kick her leg and blocked it with her hand. She used her other hand to punch me which I blocked. We continued like this for some time until I got bored. I looked to the side to see Hinata's father and Neji watching as well.

You need to give them proof that you are in fact a Senju.

I jumped far away from her.

"Wood Release: Smothering Binding Technique!" I shouted. My arm transformed into a tree and multiple branches started growing out as it went towards Ino. She dodged the advance of the first few branches that came towards her as she climbed on the tree and started running towards me. I smirked as she finally got caught by one of the branches. She fell down and activated the explosive seals she left when she had climbed on the tree. Multiple branches fell off but they were regrown quickly. Ino, now panting heavily let herself get caught but only for her to disappear.

Substitution jutsu. With a log behind me.

A kunai was pressed to my neck as Ino told me to surrender.

I leaned into the kunai and disappeared in a poof of smoke.

"A mokuton bunshin!"

"Yes. You were battling with bunshins this whole time. Now surrender." I said as I pointed a kunai at her. She put her hands up.

"I surrender."

I laughed loudly.

"That was a nice match." Ino hummed.

Hinata walked up to me. "Let's get ready to spar now Akina chan."

I smiled and we took our positions. Hinata is a deadly force if I go against her with a taijutsu match. I can easily keep up with her speed but shouldn't I finish my match quickly and at a go?

Nah.. It'll be too boring. I'll go against her and her byakugan in a taijutsu to see her powers.

"Start!"

I took out a kunai and threw it at her as I started running. She dodged it while running towards me. We both reached each other and I threw the first punch. She blocked it and tried to hit a tenketsu point near my shoulders with high speed.

Not fast enough.

I twisted my body to the side and Hinata missed her attack. She started to throw punches and mixed it with her clan's technique of gentle fist. I was on defense, redirecting her attacks and trying not to get hit by her palm. Her taijutsu was good, but her balance was a bit off her centre. She aimed for the center of my chest and I leaned back so that my hands and legs were on the ground. I changed the momentum of my body to my hands and lifted my legs up, as I ended up kicking her in her chin. I took the defensive position as she got ready to attack me again.

"Eight Trigrams: Vacuum Palm!" She said thrusting her hand forward with an unimaginable speed.

The attack hit me almost as soon as she said it. I was too late to block the attack.

I fell on the ground as cuts and bruises appeared on my hands and legs.

My breathing became a bit laboured.

Time to end this, Hina.

I quickly made some hand signs and smirked as roots shot out of the ground surounding Hinata.

"Too bad you don't have fire style." I said.

She looked at me with her dojoutsu activated as she breathed heavily. Vacuum Palm must've taken a lot out of her. The roots kept her in her place by trapping her legs and the the rest of the roots made a dome around her.

I paused as suddenly the dome exploded from the wrath of her Palm Bottom attack.

I frowned. "This match has been going on for too long. How troublesome."

She panted heavily. I on the other hand was faring in a much better state than her due to my chakra reserves being much larger than hers. "Y-your chakra reserves a-are huge." She sputtered.

I smirked internally. That's what she said.

"Stop this match." said Hiashi Hyuga as he walked towards us.

"Why otou sama?"

He looked at her with an expressionless face. "You are out of chakra. It's obvious who the winner is. Her team is waiting for her outside the compound."

I stiffened. Kakashi sensei is going to kill me.

Ino laughed as I excused myself and hurriedly made my way outside.

"All the best!"

I walked outside with a whistle as I saw my team.

"What are you guys doing here?" I asked with mock surprise.

Sasuke gritted his teeth. "We were already late waiting for you. Let's go now."

"Where are we going sensei? Weren't they training?" I asked.

He gave me a closed eye smile. "Patience my cute munchkin."

"I AM NOT A MUNCHKIN BAKASHI!!" I fumed. I hated it when people came up with senseless nicknames for me.

He ruffled my hair as we bickered back n forth, Sakura and Naruto occasionally joining us as we made our way to Kami knows where.

I gasped as we finally stopped walking, as my eyes felt a small trickle of tears falling down.

"I-it c-can't be."

Hey guys! I'm back with the update for this week.

How was the fighting scene? I tried my best to explain the scenes. I had to research so much on the jutsus smh. It was troublesome.

Also Ino, Sakura and Hinata don't have chakra types specified so I'm just going to make it up. It's a fanfiction of course.

I'm not gonna make Neji too OOC. Its just that since Hinata is different behavior wise, Im pretty sure she must've tried to salvage the relationship between them. But he still believes in that destiny crap so ya.
