Chapter 18

"I'm sorry but you both will need a backstage pass to get back here," The security guard said.

He was not letting them through even if Nadia and April knew Janet.

The show had just ended and April loved every bit of it. Even if she knew Janet wasn't really into it. Something then clicked in April's head. She still had Gil's number.

She took out her phone and called him.

"Come on Gil pick up," April mumbled walking back and forth.

"Hello," Gil answered.

"Hey Gil it's April," she replied happy to hear his voice.

"April? April I'm going to kick your ass when I see you! Why did you fucking leave? You know you were like my little sister! Damn," Gil ranted.

"Gil I know and I'm so sorry. I really am, but right now I need you to come let me in. I'm at the backstage entrance," April said.

Gil didn't reply as April heard loud shuffling on the receiving end before Gil came into view.

"Tim let them in," Gil smiled.

Without a word Tim let them in.

Gil pulled April's hand while April pulled Nadia's hand. Gil ran fast almost making Nadia and April fall.

Gil then stopped in front of a door. April knew this door all to well.

All of a sudden April started to feel like a complete wreck. She was scared out of her mind.

What would she say? What would she do? Most of all what would Janet do? How would she react?

It was now or never right? April thought.

Her palms were sweaty so she wiped them on her jeans. She took a deep breath and looked at Gil and Nadia.

They both nodded smiling.

"Just so you know you're still getting this ass whooping when you're done," Gil said making Nadia and April laugh.

April then looked back at the door. She closed her eyes.

Was she ready for this?

Gil and Nadia then knocked on Janet's door and ran.

April's eyes shot open in horror.

Oh they were so going to get it.

"Come in," Janet soft voice was heard on the other side of the door.

"You can do this April," April encouraged herself placing her hand on the handle and opening the door.

Janet's back was facing towards April as she closed the door quietly.

Janet was still everything in April's eyes. Beautiful, spontaneous, and sexy.

"Joey is it time to g-" Janet stopped mid sentence.

Janet was taken back by who was standing in her dressing room. She didn't know if she should be happy or angry.

What was she supposed to say?

"Hi," April smiled lovingly at Janet.

"What are you doing here," Janet asked almost out of breath and still not truly believing her eyes.

"I'm so pathetic," Janet thought.

April walked towards Janet getting close to her. Janet wanted to back away, but she couldn't. It was like she was in a trance, or a spell had been casted on her. Her feet stayed planted not moving a muscle.

"I'm here to claim what's mine."

What's hers?

"And what might that be," Janet questioned folding her arms and raising an eyebrow.

Janet was still mad at April for leaving, but not as mad as before.

It's like soon as April was in her presence all her anger went away and she somewhat hated it, because she wanted to mad at April.

She wanted April to know that she was hurt, and that when she left her world had been torn apart.

April touched Janet's cheek softly.

"You," April replied sending waves of heat through Janet's body.

Janet shook her head moving April's hand.

"You can't do that April."

"Do what," April asked in bewilderment.

"You can't just waltz back up in here and think that I'll forgive you just that easily. April you hurt me. You left and you wrote me a goodbye letter. You should've at least told me face to face."

"I don't expect you to forgive me easily. I know that I should've told you face to face. I was scared okay. I was scared, because I was falling in love with you."

"I thought about how it would be if we were in a relationship. The flashing lights, your fans, and family. I thought about a lot Janet and it scared me. Then I realized none of that mattered. Now I'm here trying to make it right," April sighed.

Janet looked at her and replayed every word April spoke.

She loved me?

Janet's heart jumped like the cow jumping over the moon.

"Please say something," April pleaded.

"I don't know what you want me to say April," Janet replied breathless.

"I want you to say that you'll think about giving us a chance. That you'll give me a chance to make love to you like no one's every made love to you. That you'll let me give you sweet kisses that'll take your breath away and that you'll let me love you from the top of your head to the sole of your feet."

Janet looked at April like she was the only person on earth with her. April made her heart melt. She said things that no other person has said to her and she was loving every bit of it.

Janet nodded her head, "Okay."

April smiled getting ready to kiss Janet, but she backed away from her.

"Not just yet April. I need to know that you are fully true to your word."

April nodded understanding Janet one hundred percent.

April didn't care if things had to be taken slow. She was just happy Janet agreed with her. Now she could prove herself to Janet.
