Chapter 15

I was placed on the couch in a sitting position.  I still couldn't see anything, but my glossy eyesight started to turn red, almost the color of blood.  I felt a sharp pain, almost like a knife that cutted through my eye.  I felt the blood drip from my eyes a I sat there, letting it. "Woah, why is she bleeding like that?" I heard Kanato's voice said, as the redness intense.  Shifting entered the room, as Reiji spoke. "That's not suppost to happen.  I wonder what's going on" he said, as the room fell silent.  The redness got darker to almost like a blood color as it went completley dark like a marroon collor, then it started to clear up, and I started to see the worled around me.  At first everything looked a foggy red, as it fully cleared and I saw everything clear.  I looked strait as I blinked a few times, to make sure I got my eye sight back. "Skylar?" I heard Reiji's voice say as I looked at him.  He stood strait, with his arms crossed as he spoke. "Please speak to me. I demand to know how your feeling" he said, not even sounding that he cared about me.  I narrored my eyes at him, as I got up off the couch. "Why do you need to know? You practacally killed me" I said, as I looked strait at him.  "What's going on with her?" I heard Kanato ask as I looked over at him. "Why do you want to know? Are you boys trying to kill me?" I said with a graspy voice, almost like a hiss. Kanato stayed quiet as Reiji spoke. "Somethings not right, maybe we did something wrong" he said, as  I laughed to myself. "Uh, you boys did nothing wrong.  The whole vampire relm destroyed our human world, and took my freedom away. Do you really think that I'll let that happen?" I asked, as I walked over to Reiji. 

He was standing there as he watched me in either confusion or hatred. "What are you doing Skylar?" he asked, as I grabbed a little knife, in the room.   "Why do you care? Your the one that's trying to make us humans go exstinked." I said, as I walked up  to Reiji even more. Reiji stayed still in his stance, as I made it completley up to him.  "Well it's not Cordelia because her eyes are blood red" Reiji said, as he looked back down at me.  I cracked a smile as I spoke. "I'll thank the Mukiami's later for releasing me out of my chains.   But I have to say, I feel bad for them, seeing how they were all born human" I said, as I gripped the knife tighter.  Reiji staired at me with cold, red eyes as he spoke. "I suggest you put that knife down. If you know what's best for you.  by you I'm meaning your blood" he said, as he narroed his eyes at me.  I took a deep breath as I brought the hand with the knife up, as I swung quickly at him, swipping the blade right against his head. A red line appeared by his eye, as his blood dripped down it.  "So, pureblood vampires really do have blood" I said, as I lifted my hand to swing again. Reiji quickly grabbed it as he swung me around, and wrapped his arms around my body, to restrain me from fighting back.  I pulled and pulled but I didn't go anywhere.  I started to freak out as Reiji bent down near me.  "Skylar, let me show you what Humans are for in this world" he said, as he inhaled, and something sharp dug into my skin.  My blood started oozing down my sholder, as I flinched at a sharp pain. I heard him  gulp as blood left my body. 

We sat like that for a few minutes, as my body became weaker and my knees started to buckle underneath me.  Reiji released his fangs, as he let go of me.  I fell to the floor, letting myself hit with a thunk, as my head smacked against the floor.  I felt the blood still oozing out of me, like he bit into my heart, and made it bleed. I felt myself become weaker, as I became numb and unable to move my body.  "See. This is why we vamps keep you pathetic mortals. Your blood keeps us alive, and if a mortal isn't healthy enough. They die and we just go to the next. You humans are our pet's and our food" he said, as I tried to move, but the oozing blood couldn't help with it.  I heard footsteps as Reiji got by me, as he nelt down next to me. "Does this remind you of the shelter, Skylar? Weak and on the verge of getting killed?" he asked, as I strangely found strength.  I stood up as I lunged at him, and pushed him in the wall towards the back of the room.  He watched me with now a shocked face as he gasped. "What did, who are you?"  he asked, as I cracked a smile. I took the little knife as I tried to gab it into him, but another cold hand grabbed me.  I looked back seeing Kanato holding onto my wrist.

"Don't you think about it Skylar" Kanato growled as he tightened his grip, which shot pain strait through my hand. I closed my eyed and winced in pain, as I dropped the knife instantly.  When I did, Reiji inhaled as he bit my neck, and started to drink my blood.  HE was going at it for five minutes, then he looked at my skin in shock.  Letting go of me, he released my skin, and started to cough, as he pulled himself away from me.  Kanato grabbed my other wrist, so I couldn't go anywhere on them.  "Kana..to" Reiji said in between coughs, as Kanato looked at him.  Reiji looked up as  he narrowed his beating red eyes at him. "Don't bite her.  Her blood might be deadly to vampires" he said, as he looked at me in confusion.  "Who are you" he said, as he started to cough his lungs out.  "You going to be alright, Reiji?" Kanato asked, as Reiji shook his head.  "No.  Kanato, strap her down somewhere, and make sure she doesn't get out" he said, as Kanato nodded.  "Alright, come on Skylar" he said, as he pulled me along.  Without thought, I whipped my hand around, as it slammed into the back of Kanato's neck, and he dropped to the floor, wincing in pain.  He looked up at me, as he coughed a few times. "Who? Mother?" he asked, as he looked at me with wide eyes now.  I narrowed my eyes at him, as I spoke. "I'm not your mother.  I don't even know your mother.  I spent most of my life, watching us humans go extinct and watched you vampires take over our world. You are disgusting creatures, and what happened to us human's is just sad" I said as I grabbed the knife, and turned back around. I looked back at Kanato as I smiled. "I'll be seeing you boys at school, if none of us dies" I said, as I started to walk away, but Reiji grabbed my ankle.  "You aren't going anywhere" he said, as I stabbed the knife into his hand, which made him let go.   "I am, and I'm not going to let you keep me here" I said, as I continued to walk off. I heard a few coughs, as Reiji spoke. "Your not going to win this Skylar. I won't be defeated by a slave, mortal or Immortal.  Us vampires will continue to end the human realm. When I get my strength again, I'll come get  you and I'll make sure you die this time" he said, as he cracked a smile.  I turned my back to them as I continue to walk.. "Good luck with that" was the last thing I said, as I left the yard for good.

I made it to the front of the Mukami's when Kou open the door in fear. "Skylar" he yelled in worry as he rushed towards me.  Ruki took his place, looking worried and confused.  Kou continued to run as he stopped, and examined me carefully. "What? What happened to you Skylar?" he said, as he looked into my eyes. "And your eyes are different.  Their not your usual color?" he said, as I looked at him.  I huffed as I continued to walk towards the house, as Ii looked up at Ruki.  He grew shocked as he looked me in the eye.  "Come on in Skylar" he said as I nodded and walked into the house, with Kou following right behind me.  The three of us walked into the living room, where Yuma, Azusa and Yui sat. The three of them looked at me as I guessed they  saw my eyes too. "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?" Yuma yelled at me, sounding like he was scared to know the answer.  I huffed as I walked up to the single chair in front of him and sat down. "The Sakamaki's. Reiji started this experiment on me" I said, as I told them everything.  I told them about awakening in the lab, then about me going blind and seeing red.  I told them about the urge to kill Reiji, and the effects I had after his experiment.  They  all lunged back as they looked amongst each other.  Yui looked at me in confusion. "What?" she said, as I turned to her. "Yeah. I don't know if it started back at the shelter or just what Reiji's been working on" I said,  as I started to feel  thirsty.  It was getting stronger by the minute.  I got up from the couch as I nodded. "Excuse me, I need something to drink" I said, as I turned and left the room, leaving them all clueless.

When I left

Yui and the Mukami's sat in their seats, watching me leave. "So Skylar is?" Yuma asked, as he looked up at Ruki. Ruki nodded, as he watched where I left.  "I guess so.  But what I'm wondering is, this just now that's happening, or has she been turning into a vampire the whole time" Ruki said, as he looked back at the family, and Yui. "Remember, she wouldn't keep anything down at first.  She was lying in the shelter pretty much dying. I wonder if she was changing then too" he said, as the other brothers nodded in wonder.  "She seems to be stronger now.  But we have also been keeping fangs out of her." He stopped talking as he wondered. "I had a taste of her blood, but I didn't fully bite into her either.  So if the Sakamaki's bit into her, they could turn into one.  But the question is how did she turn into a vampire" he said, more to himself then his brothers.  Yuma sighed as he shifted in his seat. "Could the shelter did anything to her, to try to make her turn into a vampire?" he asked his brothers.  Kou, Azusa and Ruki all looked at him in confusion. "Like, the shelter was saving them, or trying to?" Ruki asked as Yuma nodded.  Ruki thought to himself, as he got up and started to walk out of the room. I'll be back" he told them as he walked out of the room.

He walked into his bedroom room, as he shut the door.  He shuffled through his slaves health folder as he saw the paper that talked about the shelter.  He read the pamphlet as he squinted.  "Did they try?" he said, as he thought about the time they found her in the shelter. "Yeah, we're gonna have to kill this one in a few more months" the guards voice echoed into his head.  Ruki grew shocked as he gasped to himself.  His hand started to shake dramatically, as he spoke to himself.  "Did they had to kill her because she turns into a vampire?" he asked himself.  He shut the door as he walked to his desk, and grabbed the phone.  He dialed the number as he sat back waiting for someone to pick up.  "The slave shelter. How can I help you?" the voice asked, as Ruki cleared his voice and put the card down. "Hi, this is Ruki Mukami. I just bought a human slave, and she bit into a pureblood vampire and took blood.  I'm not calling to give her back, but I want to know answers" he said, as the guard sighed. "Oh. Alright Mr. Mukami.  Now which slave did you purchase?" he asked, as typing came on the guards side of the phone.  "My brother's and I bought slave 195 a few weeks ago, and she drank the blood from another vampire" he said, as the guard went to his research.  A few clicks echoed into the phone from the other side of the line, as the guard sighed.

"Slave 195.  The one that came from the apple orchard when she was a kid" the guard said, but not as a question.  Ruki nodded as he spoke. "That's right."  the sound of clicking came on the guards side of the line. "Ok" he said, with a sigh. "Slave 195 didn't fight us for anything. And she seems to loose care of what happened to her.  She pretty much wanted us to kill her, which is something unusual in slaves" he said as he stopped typing. "What seems to be the matter with her?" he asked, as Ruki shrugged. "She said, she took blood from a pureblood vampire.  She just came back from another family that took her for experimenting but it didn't look like anything happened to her."  The guard gasped as something slammed in the phone. "When you got Skylar back, didn she have fangs?" he asked, as Ruki shrugged. "I don't know. I didn't check."   The guard sighed as movement entered the room. "Doc, what was it you were trying to do with Slave 195?" the guard asked the other being in the room.  Muffled voices entered the other side of the phone, as the phone cracked in Ruki's ear.

"Ruki Mukami, it's the doctor that worked on Skylar.  I'm feeling that she's not a human at all.  Before you came to the shelter, I fed her blood that contained a medicine to keep her alive.  The medication was slowly going to turn her into  a vampire, but not a normal one" he said, as Ruki sighed. "So she's not going to die?" he asked, as the guard shook his head. "Not unless you kill her" he said, sounding like it needed to happen. Ruki nodded as he spoke. "What is she?" he asked, as the doctor huffed. "She's a."
