Chapter 13

I awoke to the couch again, as I moaned awake.  Kou bent over me as he looked at me with worry. "Are you ok Skylar?" he asked as I moaned.  I peeked my eyes open as I turned to him and studied him.  "What just happened?" I asked in a sleepishly voice.  Kou sighed as he spoke in a silent voice this time. "You passed out after the guard left.  Did he do something to you that we didn't see?" he asked, as I yawned and shook my head. "I don't think so" I said, with a sleepy tone.  Kou nodded as he cracked a smile. "I get it, someone is tired.  Been doing to much have you" he said, knowing what I was going to say.  I just gave a nod as I sat up on the couch.   I started to get up as I walked more out back. "Is Yuma in the guarden?" I asked as Kou shook his head.   "I don't know where Yuma went to" he said, as he looked around.  I nodded as I continued to walk out back to the garden.  Yuma wasn't there, which was not anything to worry about.  I looked at each of the plants as I walked around, seeing them almost bare, except for the ones that  wern't ripe yet.  I slowley walked around, not seeing Yuma anywhere.  No baskets were out or any of the other tools.  "Maybe he finished already" I said, as a light fog brushed up through the guarden.  I looked up at the night sky, seeing the moon shining right through the clouds, that started to drift over the moon.  "Huh, it looks like it's going to rain" I said, as I heard a branch snap in behind me.  It sounded like someone was coming from the house.  I turned around seeing no one there, and no more sounds.  "Hello?" I said aloud as a little fear was creeping into me.  I shrugged it off, as I looked back up towards the moon. I studied the sky, as some stars were coming out as well, and I inched forward towards the woods to look closer. 

I felt the cool breese of the wind brush up against me again.  I started to hear the motor of a car, as it came closer to me.  I started to get the thought of the guard was coming for me, but I didn't know why. We had a good visit with him, and he seemed happy to know that I was doing well.  "I should head back" I said to myself, as I started to turn around, when a floresent beam of light shined in full load at me.  I squinted as I covered my arm with my face, hearing a moder running. The light dimmed again, as I pulled my arm away to get a better view. A black limo sat in between the mantion and I.  The lights were barly shining a whitish yellow gaze, as the moter purred in it's spot.  I didn't reconise who's car it was, but I didn't think they wanted me in the mantion at this moment. I sat there, as I watched it,  still confused of the whole thing. "Ok, I'll just go around them" I said as I started to go around them,  but the limo pulled up on the side, showing the doors of the car.  I stopped as I lisened to the hum of the limo.  I started to walk in behind it, seeing that it didn't move. "Alright, this is weird. I should go find Ruki" I said, as I headed for the back of the car.  I eyed the trunk of the car as it opened up, showing a purple velvet lining and a black case in it.  I started to go slowley as I looked at it.  The case looked a little like a coffin, but I didn't know for sure.  

I studied the coffin looking case as I thought to myself. "Who keeps a coffin in the back of their car?" I asked myself, as I realized that I still had the knife.  I pulled the knife out of my pocket, as I heard a silent voice from the vielcal. "She's armed this time" it said in a low tone, but I couldn't reconize who it was.  Someone was in the car, and it seemed like they wanted me for some reason.  I was starting to put the pieces together. "The coffin mine?" I thought, as I walked quicker, and walked in the mansion as I shut the door, and locked it.  I stuied the car as the coffin and the trunk just stayed open.  The veilcal started to move forward away from where I was standing before, and started to leave. I watched it as it made a turn, then started to back up from the door.  It continued to back up as it got to the back door, making no room for if I ran out.  It seemed like it was going to go right through the door, but it stopped right when the room to go around was gone.  The back door opened, as the coffin was shown again. Once again, no one came out. The coffin just sat in the back of the trunk, wide open as everything went silent.  Quickly, I turned and went to look for one of the Mukami's, if I found them anywhere.  Right when I was about to walk out, I ran into someone, as I heard a sigh. "Skylar, what's wrong?" Kou's voice asked. I jolted my eyes open, and looked up at him.  "Kou, there's a limo with a coffin right at the do" I said, as I turned around, seeing the limo and coffin was gone.  "Door" I said confused, finishing my sentence so it made sense.

Kou looked up at he spoke. "Why's the front door open?" he asked, as he walked up to it, and shut it.   "Kou there's a limo with a coffin right there" I said, as he looked at me funny. "Are you ok Skylar?" he asked, as I looked at him. "Go see for youself, there's a limo with a coffin right out there" I said, as he sighed. "I'll check, but I didn't see anything.  You stay here, and i'll go look for a coffin or a limo" he said, as he walked out and shut the door. I stood there in fear, as I heard a shifing behind me. I gasped as I whipped aorund, seeing Yuma standing behind  me, and looking down at me. "Skylar, are you ok?" he asked, as I sighed. "I don't know" I said, as Kou walked back in. He shook his head before he spoke. "There's no limo or coffin out there" he said, as he looked at me.  Yuma looked from me to Kou in confusion. "Kou, are you telling her stories again?" he asked, as Kou shook his head. "No.  Skylar what happend?" he asked, as the two of them looked at me.  I took a deep breath, as I started to explain what happend. I explained the looking for Yuma to do the garden, then the limo that kept cornering me with the coffin. Both Kou and Yuma looked at me funny. Yuma sighed as he rubbed his head, and Kou just folded his arms. "Skylar, maybe the guard freaked you out.  Maybe you should go lay down for a while" he said, as Yuma nodded in agreement. I looked back at Yuma as I spoke. "But what if it's the Sakamaki's try" I said, bur Yuma lifted his hand up to stop me. "Your probably just freaked out from the guard.  Your probably still is stressing over that" he said, as Kou nodded. "Yeah, you did pass out. Maybe you hit your head or something" I said, as I looked at him. "But" I said, as I was stopped. "Skylar. Go in your room, and lie down" he said, as he pointed towards my room. I looked at Yuma as he nodded. "I think you should go as well" he said, as I sighed.  "Ok, night" I said, as I started to walk to my room.

When I got  to my room, I walked in as I stopped in the doorway.  I looked strait ahead, showing the coffin I saw in the back of the limo.  It was wide open, still showing the inside. A chain with what looked like a lock with it, lied on the floor in front of it, showing like it was locking something in it. I rubbed my eyes, as I thought I was imangeing it.  Once I oped my eyes, the coffin was still there.  I was backing up as I turned to run, but a shadow of something lied in the floor.  I creeped up to the dark object, showing a little pink material with a black stripe.  I picked up the material as I rubbed it, seeing the smoldering ash on a ripped end. "Where did I seen ths before" I said, as a breese rushed up from me.  I looked up as I saw a figure of a boy, clenching his fists. I only saw his shadow so I didn't know who it was. The figure started to shake in anger, as it started to run up to me.  I turned around and ran past the room with the coffin as fast as I could.  I took a left as I ran up to the back wall, seeing that it was a dead end with no windows.  "Ok, wrong way" I said, as I turned to see the coffin there again.  I joled as I slammed into the wall in confusion. "How did that get there?" I yelled, as I saw the figure turned the corner.  This time the figure was taller.  I saw how the figure was dressed this time.  Short red hair, drapped over his eyes, creating a shadow over them.  The figure wore a uniform with the buttons opened, and a red scarf hung from his neck. I thought about the way this boy was dressed to figure out who it was. "Ayato" I gasped in fear, as I backed into the wall completley.  Ayato walked passt the coffin as he faced the front.  He sighed as he spoke. "I never knew a slave would put up a fight" he said, as he reached in the coffin and pulled out a little chain. The chain wasn't connected to the coffin, which was what scared me the most.  It wasn't that little either, just enough to keep my arms and legs, from moving.

He started to walk forward as he stretched the chain out. "Come closer slave" he said, as I turned and started to back up towards the coffin. "RUKI!" I yelled as I kept backing up towards the coffin. I lost my balance as I almost fell in the coffin.  "That's just it.  If you get in there yourself, it'll save me an extra step" he said, as he came closer.  At this point, it was going through Ayato, or in the coffin.  I had to act fast, but there wasn't a room or another hallway I could run in. I had only one thing left to do.  I closed the lid of the coffin, as I jumped over it. I turned in mid air, as I booked it and bumped into another figure.  Again, red hair and green eyes.  I only knew who it was this time. Laito.  He smied under his hat, as he looked up at me.  He grabed my wrist as he spoke. "You think you can escape from us again.  Did you like what we did to you? Or would you like even worse?" he asked, as I gasped.  I reached into my pocket, as I clenched the knife. I looked back at Ayato, as he got up close to me. "Hold her" he said to his brother, as Laito gave a chuckle. "My pleasure" he said, as he grabbed my wrist.  I felt the fear building up inside of me. There was only one way out.  I gripped the knife tighter, as Ayato went to grab my other wrist.  Quiclky, I stabbed the knife into his sholder, as I pulled it out. Ayato yelled, as he backed up and slammed into the wall, holding his wond.  "You little" Laito said, as my back pressed up against his chest and he held me to him.  He gasped as he bit me on the sholder, by my neck. I screamed in pain as I started to feel the blood. I lifted the knife as I stapped him in the knee, and he whinced before drinking my blood. Laito let go as he fell to his knees, and I walked over him. I backed up from the two and the coffin, as Ayato walked up and looked at Laito. I started to run as I kept the knife close to me, and I exited out of that part of the mantion.  Ayato looked at Laito as he thought of helping his brother.  "You alright?" he asked, as he was going to help, but at this point Laito was on his knees. "Don't worry about me. Just go find her" he said, as he handed Ayato the chain.  Ayato grabbed it as he nodded. "Will do. Take it easy until we get home" he said, as he started to run with the chain raddilng next to him.
