Chapter 12

I moaned awake as I shifted in my position.  I opened my eyes to find myself back at the Mukami mantion.  I was lying on the couch as I picked my hand up, and started to rub my eyes.  I realized that I had more strength then ever as I looke at my hand. "Where did this come from?" I asked myself as I looked at the hand more.  I looked past my hand to look up at the ceiling to noticed that I was back at the Mukami's.  I jolted up as I looked around the mantion, seeing no one in the room with me.  I kept looking around in silence as a familiar voice spoke, along with the clanking of dishes.  "How you feeling Skylar?" Ruki asked as he brought a tray, with a pitcher and a cup.  He put the tray down on the table next to me.  I looked at him confused. "How did you?  What happend?" I asked, not quite remembering what went on at that moment.  Ruki sat next to me on the couch as he shook his head. "That's not something you need to worry about.  The most important thing is how are you feeling?" he asked again, as he sat down next to me.  "I feel tired.  I can't seem to stay awake" I said, even though I had my strength back.  Ruki tilted his head as he looked at my neck, and pushed my hair away from it.  "Does that hurt?" he said, as he rubbed a spot on my neck.  I looked at him in confusion. "Did what hurt?" I asked, knowing that it wasn't good to reply with a question.  He sighed as he moved his head to look at the cup. "Never mind, you can't seem to feel it" he said, as he looked up at me.  "You feeling weak?" he asked as  he got curious.  I looked at him in confusion, even though he asks me every day since I arived.  "No, I feel fine.  Just a little scared" I said, as I looked at the cup.  Ruki noddded as he sighed. "Good, then I brought that for nothing" he said more to himself then to me.  I looked at him in confusion. "What?" I asked.  Ruki shook his head. "Oh nothing, I was just about to feed you more blood, but you seemed to not be needing it" he said, with a sigh.  I nodded again, as I looked at the cup once more, then leaned back on the couch.

I sighed as I thought about school. My first day, and I was taken by the Sakamaki's.  I thought about if I would be out of school for a whille, and what would happen now.  Then I thought of the Sakamaki's, and why they kept me in that room with all those dolls.  I kept the dolls in mind as I looked at Ruki. "Hey can I ask you something?" I asked, as Ruki turned to me.  "Skylar, I just want you to know that you can tell us anything and we'll be up and honest with the answer" he said, as I nodded. I took a big sigh as I spoke. "Why was I at the Sakamaki's?  What are they wanting with me, other than my blood?" I asked, as Ruki shrugged. "Who knows.  Reiji always has something up his sleeve.  Just be careful when your around them. Their also the reason why I don't force school on you just yet" he said, as I nodded, then slouched on the couch.  I looked at Ruki agian.  "That room. What was that?" I asked, as he looked at me confused.  "What room are you talking about?" he asked, as I spoke right after.  "The room they put me in.  It had a bunch of dolls in there.  They looked more like actual people than fake though" I said, thinking of the creepy room.  Ruki jolted a look at me, as he inhaled deeply. It was like he was going to yell at me.  "That's nothing you need to know.  Just don't end up in that room again. Ok?" he asked, as I nodded.  "Alright" I said, as I noticed a girl walking up.  "Excuse  me Ruki. How's Skylar?" Yui's voice spoke silently in the room.  Both Ruki and I turned to her, as he spoke. "She's doing fine, what do you need?" he asked, as Yui just jolted in shock. "No, I just wanted to make sure she was ok. I got worried" she said, as I cracked her a smile. "Thanks Yui" I said, as she cracked a smile.  Ruki stood up as he walked up to her, and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Skylar is fine.  Why don't you go to your room, and I'll meet you there Yui" he told her as she nodded. "Alright" she said as she walked out.  Ruki sighed as he turned to me, with yet another worried look on his face.  I noticed that his eyes were watering, which got me worried.

I stood up as I walked up to him silently. "Ruki, are you ok?" I asked, as I completely got up to him.  Ruki didn't do anything, just looked at me for a while. Finally, he grabbed my wrist, as he pulled me up to him.  He wrapped his arms around me, as his head bent over my back.  I felt something wet drip down my back as I tried to push away. "Was he taking blood?" I asked myself, as I tried to push back, but he didn't work.  "Ruki?" I asked confused as he spoke, and more of the wetness dripped down my back.  "I'm sorry Skylar.  I didn't want that to happen to you.  You looked like you did at the shelter" he said, as I looked at him in confusion. "What?" I asked him as he pulled back from me. He looked me in the eye, as he sighed. "I don't want that to happen to you ever again.  If the Sakamaki's try to go near you again.  You run, run as fast as you can and don't stop. And if you can, come fine one of us, got it?" he asked, as I nodded.  "I understand. Thanks Ruki" I said, as he cracked a smile.   He lost the smile for a moment as he spoke. "Hey Skylar, the shelter called and the guard wants to come over, just to see how your doing. Are you ok with that?" he asked, as I nodded. "I think so, if he doesn't try to do anything" I said, as I nodded.  Ruki smiled as he sighed. "Alright, he'll be here in a hour.  Why don't you go take a bath real quick, and then come out when your ready" he said, as I nodded. "Alright, I'll be out in a bit" I said, as I walked to the bathroom.

I went into my bedroom first, as I went to grab another change of clothes.  I looked everywhere, but couldn't find anything.  Finally, I looked on the bed to notice a pile of clothes and a note on top of it.  I walked up to it in confusion as I looked at it.  I picked up the note as I looked at it, then opened it up.  The note had a little passage, and it went like this.

Skylar, you've been with us for a while now. You've been doing well and we seem to know that your staying.  Your our Eve and no one is going to take you away from us.  I know I told you this before, but your our family now. We won't let anything happen to you, nor let you in that situaton again.  It killed us to see you in that state at the shelter, and then hearing about your story made us think of our past.  I know we call you Eve, and know we do it a lot. But being Eve is not the reason why we stil keep you.   You grew up a little like we did, and I told you before that I don't want you in that situartion again.  Your officially part of our family, not to mention we're the same. Both my brother's and I grew up just like you, poor and no family.  What I really want you to know is that you might  think you don't have a family. The truth is, you are a part of this family, the miute we talked in the shelter.  The guy will be comeing to check on you, and he'll have a problem seeing you out of chains, but the thing is we'll be prepaired if he tries something.  Just trust us brother's and be prepaired just in case he does something.  Also to say welcome to the family. A outfit is sitting on your desk, just to say welcome home. 

Welcome Home Skylar,

Ruki Mukami, Kou Mukami, Yuma Mukami, Azusa Mukami

 I slowly felt tears again, as I put the note down.  I sat on the bed with tears dripping down my cheeks massivly.  "They thought of me as family this whole time" I said to myself as I cried a bit.  I thought of the man from the shelter that was coming, as I started to feel afraid.  "Will they even be strong enough to take him if he tries soemthing?" I asked myself as I shook my head, and whipped the rest of my tears. "Stay strong Skylar.  You can do this" I thought to myself as a knock came on the door. "Skylar it's me, can I come in?" Azusa asked as I nodded then spoke. "Yes you can" I said, as I put the note down, and he came in.  I noticed he was holding a knife. It had a silver blade and a red handle with gold all over it. I looked at it in fear as I guled. "What's he going to do?" I thought to myself as I tried not to show my fear.  I looked at Azusa as he sighed. "Take this" he said, as he handed the knife to me.  I took it in confusion as I looked at it, then up at him. "Why are you giving me this?" I asked, scared to hear his answer. Azusa got more serious as he spoke. "That guard is coming tonight, if you don't already know.  If he tries something, or makes you uncomfortable. Stab him.  And if you still don't feel comfortable. Kill him" he said, as I jolted a look at him. "What? I can't murder anyone" I said, as I felt myself getting scared.  Azusa shook his head.  "Don't worry Skylar. All of us will be right next to you. He won't get away with anything.  Just tell me, do you trust us?" he asked, as I thought about it.  I nodded as I sighed. "I do trust you" I said, knowing that it was true. Azusa nodded as he turned to leave. "Get dressed, he'll be here any moment" he said, as he completely left.  I clenched the knife as I looked at my outfit.  "I should probably go get ready" I said, as I took my clothes, and left.

After the shower

I tok my time with the shower, as I sighed. I had my outfit on as I brushed my hair, and looked in the mirror. I could hear people talking as the door shut, which ment the guard was here.  I ran the brush through my hair again, as a knock entered the door. "Come in" I said as the door open, and Kou's voice spoke. "Skylar, the guard is here. Can I come in?" he asked, as I nodded. "Yep" I said, as he walked in, and shut the door.  He took a look at me as he sighed in relief. "Ok you got the knife.  Here" he sad, as he pulled out a little knife holder. He put the strap through my belt loop and snapped it shut.  He took the knife that Azusa gave me, as he slipped it into the holder.  After that, he put my sweatshirt over it, making it not show. "Alright, keep it hidden until your ready to use it. It's in a easy spot for you to grab it" he said, as I nodded. "Thanks Kou" I said, as he cracked a smile.  "No problem. You ready?" he asked, as I nodded. "I guess."  Kou sighed as we started to walk out of the bathroom. He stopped me as he bent over my sholder to whisper in my ear. "Don't worry, we're all armed with something" he said, as we continued to walk into the living room.

When we got into the livingroom, I saw Ruki in his chair, Azusa and Yuma were on the couch and the guard was sitting on the chair acrossed from Ruki. Both the guard and Ruki were holding tea cups. Azusa was drinking what looked like a bottle of blood, and Yuma just sat there as he listened.  The guard continued to talk, as I watched Ruki nod up and down, showing that he had the guards attention.  Kou and I walked closer towards the doorway, as I kept my eyes locked on the guard.  I felt the fear inside of me, as we inched closer.  I stopped a little distance as I started to reach for the knife.  Kou gave me a quick hug before the guard found out we were there. "Don't use it unless he attacks. It's going to be ok" he said, as he stood up and gave me a smile.  I nodded at him as I followed him to a couple of kitchen chairs, which Yuma just brought in for us.  I followed Kou silently to the chairs as I sat down, trying to keep the knife hidden. The guard looked at me, with a piece of fang sticking out, as he spoke. "We meet again human 195" the guard said,  as he cracked a smile.  I kept my silence as I gave him a quick nod hello.  Ruki sipped on his tea as he eyed the guard with anger. "I may ask you not to call her by her name from that prison of yours.  Her name is Skylar, and that's how you'll be referring to her from now on" he said, sounding excactly like what a dad would sound like.

The guard nodded as he sighed. "I'm sorry, Mr. Mukami.  It's my bad and I won't do it again" he said, as he turned back to me.  "Well, I'm glad to see you doing better.  How you feeling today?" he asked, as I felt the fear continuing to grow.  I felt like running out of there in fear, but I knew this would happen today. "Stronger. Better than I did" I said, trying to be respectful and hiding my fear.  Yuma kept a watchful  eye on me, as he continued to watch my reaction.   Ruki took a sip of his tea as he spoke to the guard. "She seemed to be doing better. Somedays we still feed her blood, but she's been doing good.  I apologize is she seems scared. She just came out of a bad situation that we're not happy about" Ruki explained.  The guard nodded as he sighed. He turned back to me as he noticed my bandages. "Your's wrists. Were those from the cuffs?" he asked, as I nodded. "Yes sir" I said, with a shaky voice.  The guard leaned back in his chair, as he smiled. "You still scared of me Skylar? You are quiet tonight" he said, as I studied him.  I started to get unconfortable.  I nodded silently. "Yes sir."  The guard cracked a smile as he looked at Ruki. "Mr. Mukami, can I speak to her in private?" he asked, as Ruki shook his head. "I rather you not for this visit. Maybe next time if you don't refer to her as her slave number" he said, as he eyed the guard.  The guard nodded as he sighed.  He got up as he walked over my way.  

I looked up at the guard as I sat there in fear.  All Mukami's kept a eye on the guard.  I sat straiter in my chair, as I felt the fear growing inside me.  The guard put his hand on my cheek as he stroked it with his thumb. "I thought you would be dead by now. But look at you" he said, as I started to get afraid.  I turned to Ruki as I started to reach for the knife.  I looked at the guard as he shown me his fangs. "You look like you got tasty blood" he said, as he licked his fang.  I gripped the knife, as I kept him in sight.    He bent down to my neck as he smelt it. "Can I have" he started to say, but Ruki cutted him off. "Please step back from Skylar. She oviously is scared of you, and we're still trying to gain her trust" he said, getting angry with the guard.  The guard looked at Ruki as he spoke, and lifted up from me. "My apologies Mr. Mukami. That wasn't the right thing to do. I need to get back to the prison. May I come check on her in a few weeks again?" the guard said, as Ruki looked at me. "I dunno. We'll think about it and give you a call when she's ready" he said, as he eyed the guard again.  The guard nodded as he looked back at me. "Alright, I'm sorry.  It's good to see you again Skylar. I'll be on my way" and with that, the guard left. I looked down as I started to feel faint from the guard.  The Mukami's looked at me, as they watched. Kou got in my view as he watched me. "Are you going to be alright Skylar?" he asked. With that question in my mind, I fell on the floor and passed out of fear and exhaustion.
