Me and Izzy walk into the Institute. I sigh as we are about to turn the corner. I see Alec talking to someone. "Great." I muttered sarcastically. Izzy chuckles at my tone.

"Where the hell have you guys been?" Alec asks in a mad tone as he approaches us. I give him a death glare. He gives me a look which I ignored.

"Where I needed to be." Izzy tells him. She glares at him too. "Away from you and your fiancée." She says scoffing. I cross my arms and lean on my left leg.

"Jace and Clary are on the run." He tells us but I still ignore him. I look at people walk around. There's no way I'm making eye contact with him. "I can't protect you guys if you guys don't tell me the truth."

"I don't need protecting. Neither of us do. Meliorns alive. That's all that matters." Izzy tells him. We go to walk away but Alec grabs our arms. I pull it back with force.

"Just...hey, just...tell me this. Is there any way that Raj could have seen anything incriminating?" He asks. He looks to us and ten to the bitch. Yeah I'm still calling her what she is. I pull my arm. I walk closer to hear what they're saying.

"I don't think you can call it an attack if no one got injured. We were ambushed." A guy says to the bitch.

"How is that possible?" She asks him. "Nobody outside the Institute knew about the mission."

"It was dark. We couldn't see much. There were wolves... and the others were hit with vampires. But I swear, the one that got me... moved a lot like a Shadowhunter." The guy says looking in the distance. The bitch looks at Alec and Izzy.

"Wow, a Shadowhunter fighting a Shadowhunter on your watch. It seems many things are slipping through your disgusting fingers." I say to the bitch. She looks at me with a stern look.

"I haven't seen you around." She tells me. "About Al-" she starts but I put out my hand.

"Wait right there, I don't want to hear anything come out of your mouth. I don't like you and I don't care if you're all big and bad." I tell her as I walk closer to her. "I don't want you near me. And please Leave my name out of your mouth, or else." I say as my eyes glow. I don't wait for a response. I turn around and walk alway.

I go up to Izzy. "I need serious help, I burnt some of my heels and I'm having a crisis." I tell her with a panicked expression.

"For what?" I hear Alec say from behind me. The same man from earlier goes behind Izzy. I turn around slowly. I see the bitch give me a look that said 'sorry not sorry'.

"Isabelle Lightwood and Arielle Drozdov Fairchild, by order of the Clave, you are under arrest for high treason." She tells us. I look at Izzy alarmed.

"What? In what grounds?" Alec asks her. My eye twitches.

"Only a handful of people knew about the Meliorn op." Lydia answers him. I give both of them a deadly glare. Oh, I think I smell something burning in the future.

"And everyone knows she's sleeping with him." The guys says to Izzy. She chuckles. "And this one, everyone knows this one knows everything about anything." He says to me. It's not my fault people talk loud around me.

"Shut it asshole. That's why your girlfriend broke up with you. You cheating bastard." I say walking towards him but Izzy grabs me. She puts me on the other side of her where he wasn't at.

"You know what, Lydia? You're no better than Valentine." Izzy says making me smirk wide. "But at least he had the guts to tell Downworlders to their faces he wanted them all dead."

"I want Lydia dead." I mumble.

"You...hide behind the Law." Izzy continues. I chuckle as I put my arm on her shoulder.

"I don't hide behind it, Isabelle. I simply follow it. Because it guards against one very important thing. Shadowhunters fighting other Shadowhunters." The bitch says making me roll my eyes along with Izzy.

"If they're get convicted, they'll be stripped of their runes and banished." Alec tells the bitch. "I can't let that-"

"Don't." Izzy tells him. "It's not your fight." We walk passed then. Alec grabs my arm.

"Can we talk?" He asks me. I again pull my arm from his grip.

"Izzy do you hear something because I don't." I say to Izzy. I hear Alec call after me but I don't turn around. I might be over exaggerating but he knew I hated her. Now they're engaged and to be wed. This is bull.

"I spy with my little eye, something....brown." I say to Izzy. She looks at me and raises a brow.

"The door." She says making me pout. There wasn't many colors here, it's not fair. The door suddenly opens.

"Your turn." I tell her. She puts her finger on her chin. She opens her mouth as the door opens.

"Keep it short." The guy says to someone. Alec then goes through the door. I grab a book and put it over my face. I'm very studious.

"Jace stole the Cup." He tells Izzy. Of course he did. Not very surprising. "Izzy, did you know about this?" He asks Izzy surprised. Izzy doesn't say anything. "My god, did you help him? The Cup is the only thing that can get you guys out of this."

"Jace is doing what he thinks is right." She tells him confident. Sometimes what Jace thinks is just a no. His pea brain is too stupid to process what he's doing.

"What's right? He put the whole Shadow World in danger. He out you in danger, Ariel in danger. We have to get him back here.either the Cup. It's the only thing that can help you." I fake snore.

"They're taken Meliorn back to the Seelie realm. You can't track them there." She tells him. I sigh.

"Not by any of the normal ways." He tells her.

"No, absolutely not." Izzy says in a slightly panicked tone. "You cannot track Jace through your parabatai bond. It will weaken both of you. Or break the bond." She says making me worry. Not...

"Jace already weakened it. How does he think I can trust him after what he did?" He asks her.

"Right. I think we can relate here." I say suddenly making them look at me in surprise.

"Ariel..." Alec starts but I wave him off.

"Continue Izzy." I say ignoring him.

"Don't say that. Please, Alec." She tells him. I put my thumbs up. "Think about what you're doing."

"Being an idiot." I mumble. I grab a chip out of the chip bag. Can't blame me, I'm hungry.

"Now will you be a dear and leave. I don't want to smell lies and bullshit." I say grabbing another chip. I cross my legs.

"Hey. Hey, Alec!" The guys exclaims. He tries to push Alec back but Alec was stronger. Yeah he is.

"Just... Just wait." Alec tells him. He closes the door. He sighs.

"What happened?" Izzy asks getting up from next to me. "Are you and Jace okay?" She asks him.

"No." He answers. He walks closer to us. I turn back to my book when we make eye contact. "Our parabatai bond, it's just...so weak." He says. His voice is just sooo. Nope, we must stay focused. "He's like a ghost."

"Alec, what did you do?" Izzy asks him worried. Izzy walks closer to him.

"Lydia and I thought we could stop the trial if we gave the Cup to the Clave." He tells her.

"Lydia helped you?" Izzy asks him shocked.

"It doesn't matter." He sits next to me and sighs. I pull my feet closer to me. "She has no choice but to go through with the trial now." Izzy doesn't say anything so he looks up to look at her. I just sit there awkwardly. Izzy sits down in between us and side hugs him.

"It's okay, big brother. I know you tried." She says. Alec sighs.

"I'm sorry." He says looking at both of us. I look away and grab a candy. I then put in my earphones.
