Chapter 35: Who knows?

19:49, 30 May 2020

(Quick A/n: Okay, so I had major writers block today, so this is the best I could do. I hope you still enjoy it! ๐Ÿ™‚)

Rose was laying in bed. She couldn't fall asleep. Her mind just wouldn't shut off. It just kept thinking and thinking about different things, but one exact thing in particular. Scorpius. Her tall, muscular, silver eyed, platinum blond haired, brilliant, polite, kind, boyfriend. Her love. She truly did love him. She may have known it yet a few years ago, but she did. She would glance over from across the classroom in 3rd year, and see how his platinum blond hair would reflect the sunlight coming through the window. He was truly perfect for her. She was perfect for him. They were perfect together.

But, that's what kept Rose awake. Scorpius and her were probably not going to split anytime soon. She couldn't hide this relationship forever. She truly wanted to yell Scorpius Malfoy I'd my boyfriend! Across the entire planet, but there was something holding her back. Ron. Her father. She still hadn't told him yet. But, wait, who all knows? Rose had to list to herself who she and Scorpius already told.

"Mum, Hugo, Albus, Caroline, Lily, Roxanne, Molly, and Lucy, and Scorpius's dad." Rose thought to herself. That's all the people who knew. She knew that Al, Caroline, Lily, Roxanne, Molly, Lucy, and her mum were trustable. That they wouldn't tell. But Hugo? Her 14 year old brother? Not telling their dad? That's something that Rose couldn't believe. But, she would have known if Hugo told Ron because she probably would have got a Howler, or he would have just come up to the school himself. But, she had to tell him eventually, herself. She couldn't hide this from Ron forever. If Scorpius's dad, Draco Malfoy, an ex-Deatheater, and an enemy of her parents, (Mostly Ron now-a-days,) could except her and Scorpius's relationship. Not only accept the relationship, but be happy for them. That was it. She would have to tell Ron soon. She didn't know when, but it had to be soon.

Rose put the thought to the back of her mind. Just the thought of thinking of Ron's reaction stressed her out. So, she decided to put it on the back-burner for now, and just thought of happy memories that her and Scorpius were together.

***

Little did Rose know, but other people besides the ones she listed knew about her and Scorpius's relationship. One of those people was her Aunt Ginny.

Ginny took notice of Rose and Scorpius at the Quidditch match. They were definitely snogging. This made Ginny think. How long would they have been together? Then, Ginny thought of all the times they would have been together. During the summer, she guessed that Rose was a little more perky than usual. It really wasn't that big of a difference, but Ginny noticed. Especially the week when Scorpius came to stay with them. Now that she really thought about it, she remembered that Rose and Scorpius were dancing together at Teddy and Victorie's wedding. All of the pieces fit together.

Ginny now realized that her niece and her son's best mate were together. Why hadn't she noticed it before? Rose always had a smile on her face anytime Al had mentioned Scorpius. Wow. Ginny was happy for Rose, but she then thought of how overprotective Ron was of Rose. Just like he was when Ginny was 16. Ron would flip if he found out. Ginny imagined the scene now. Poor Rose. She felt bad for her niece. Over the years, Draco had become less tense, maybe even a little bit friendly. He defiantly wasn't Draco that they went to school with. Ginny thought that maybe having a wife and son lightened him up. And Scorpius, was the most polite kid Ginny ever met. He was also very smart. Those two were perfect for each other.

"Hey Hare," Ginny said to her husband over dinner. She had to take a second to think out loud.

"Yea." Harry responded.

"Have you noticed that Rose has been a little more perky lately?" Ginny asked Harry. She had to confide in him. See what he thought about the situation.

"Hmm, I don't know." Harry responded. You have to remember that another name for Harry is Mr.Oblivious. He then took a moment to think about the question. Every time he saw Rose over holidays and Quidditch matches this past year, he guessed that she was more bubbly than before. What was this about?

"Well, now that I think about it, I suppose your right." Harry said to his wife.

"Yea, I knew it!" Ginny said out loud. Her thinking was confirmed.

"What? Knew about what?" Harry asked curiously. What was Ginny talking about? And why was Rose involved?

"Oh, well, you probably shouldn't tell Ron about this, but I saw Rose and Scorpius snogging at the Quidditch match last week. I'm trying to figure out if their seeing each other. I know that it doesn't involve us, but it is going to be hilarious if Ron finds out." Ginny said with a laugh.

"Really?" Harry asked. That wasn't like Rose. Now that he really thought about it, maybe Ginny was right. Over the summer, Rose was more cheerier than she usually was. Wait. He just remembered Teddy and Victorie's wedding. Didn't he see Rose and Scorpius dance? Oh Merlins Pants. Ginny was right.

"Yea, I think so." Ginny answered. She noticed that Harry was trying to contemplate something in his head.

"Well, Ron is going to faint when he finds out. Wow, never would of thought that their daughter and Draco's son would have ever ended up together." Harry said and then took a sip of his drink.

"I know, but Scorpius would be good for her. Scorpius is probably one of the politest kids I've ever met. And, their both pretty studious." Ginny replied.

Harry and Ginny continued to talk about the situation with their niece and Scorpius They both agreed that they were probably seeing each other. But for Rose's sake, they wouldn't discuss it with anyone else, especially her parents.

***

Other than Ginny, someone else was suspicious about Rose and Scorpius. That someone was Neville. He had kept an eye on Rose and Scorpius more lately. There was something definitely going on there. They were always smiling and laughing at each other in Herbology class. And, when class was dismissed, he swore he caught them holding hands multiple times. It was just crazy for Neville to think about. Rose Weasley and Scorpius Malfoy.

Neville could remember Ron and Hermione's wedding day. It was the year after the war. Ron had proposed to Hermione over Christmas the year that Hermione redid at Hogwarts. At the time, they were all 19. Neville remembered the first time he met Ron and Hermione. In first year, when they were all only 11. It was crazy how fast time flew by. It was clear that those two fancied each other all along, even though they didn't technically start dating until the end of 7th year. But, anyways, it was just crazy for Neville to think about how fast time goes by.

He was really teaching Ron and Hermione's daughter and son. Their daughter was old enough to be dating someone. Wow. It was just wow.

Neville's memory then tracked back to when he was 16 and fancied someone. That someone was Luna Lovegood. She was just,... Luna. Neville always thought Luna was so cool and pretty, even though she was made fun of a lot. Over those last few years of Hogwarts, Luna and Neville had gotten very close. At this time, Neville fancied her. But, he didn't have the courage to ever tell her directly. Before he knew it, she was seeing someone. This broke Neville's heart. Then, she married him. It was too late. Neville secretly hoped that one day that their paths would cross again somehow, even though she had two sons. Her sons were cool, and they were good students, but, oh Luna! Neville missed Luna so much. Neville spent his time teaching at Hogwarts, and single.

(Okay, another quick author's note, I know some people say that Neville ended up with Hannah Abbott, but I'm sorry NUNA FOREVER! They should have needed up together! Unfortunately, and sadly, this didn't happen, but I can't see Neville with anyone else but her! But, the only thing good that came out of it was Lorcan and Lysander. Sorry, I just had to take a second to rant. Let's continue on, shall we?)

Anyways, just seeing Ron and Hermione's daughter being so happy with Scorpius made Neville think of himself and Luna. He was happy for his top students though. Rose and Scorpius looked so happy with one another. Neville couldn't spoil it and tell Ron. He just couldn't do that to Rose. He knew that Ron overreacted when it came to that kind of stuff. He remembered when Harry and Ginny started dating. This made him let out a chuckle. But, his daughter and a Malfoy. That would be a whole knew level. Neville knew that Scorpius was brilliant and polite, and he was nothing like Draco was at that age, but he knew just how Ron would react.

Neville just smiled to himself. He liked to see his students happy like this. He then returned to his work.

***

Hermione smiled as she read another one of Rose's letters home. Rose had been writing home more lately, but mostly just for Hermione's eyes to read. About once a week, she wrote one for both of her parents, but about three times a week, she would write one just for her mum. They were mostly about Scorpius. Hermione was very happy for her daughter. She found someone. Rose seamed to be so happy with Scorpius. Hermione had her doubts at first, but now, she realized that Scorpius was great for her daughter. She had no issues with Rose dating Scorpius Malfoy. Her husband, on the other hand, would probably have many. Hermione kept her word to Rose, and not tell Ron. Rose had to do something like that herself, when she was fully ready. And, if she wasn't ready yet, that was completely fine with Hermione. Truth be told, Hermione was glad that Rose hadn't told her dad yet. She would have to try and calm down Ron when that happened, and that wouldn't be an easy thing to do with something like this.

Then, Hermione thought something to herself. "Wait a second. If Draco's okay with this, would Ron be?"

From what Hermione observed, Draco had no issues with her daughter dating his son. This was a great thing. It made Hermione relieved. Draco had really changed over the years. This was a pretty good thing.

But, Ron was Ron. The most stubborn person Hermione had ever met in her entire life. She understood that Rose was their little girl, and Ron was just playing the overprotective dad card. But, this was different. Ron was still pretty much the only one who still hated Draco with a passion. Harry lightened up when Scorpius and Albus became friends. Maybe Ron would if he knew about Scorpius and Rose. Nah. He was still Ron Weasley.

Hermione let out a sigh at this. She knew that Rose would try and handle it when she told him, but Hermione was dreading for when the day did come. She could almost guarantee that Ron and Rose would get into an argument about it. She didn't want her daughter and husband to be in an argument. She wish she could help for when the day will eventually come, but there's not much she could really do.

To lighten her mood, Hermione read Rose's neat handwriting one more time. It made her smile. Rose had written about how her and Scorpius were studying and reading under a tree, and Scorpius just out of the blue snogged her. This made Hermione let out a small giggle. She truly was thrilled that her daughter was so happy. Then, her mind tracked to something many years back.

She could remember when her and Ron were 16. The year of Lavender Brown. Ugg. But, without that year, Hermione probably wouldn't have made her feelings so crystal clear. She had loved Ron all along, but this truly made her realize that he was the one for her. After that year, it was all history. She remembered how she snogged Ron for the first time over the House Elf comment that he made. That right there. That was it. From that moment, Ronald Billius Weasley was the love of her life. Months later, after one of the best summers of her life, (besides having to go to funerals and rebuild Hogwarts because all of the war damages,) it was Christmas. Her and Ron still dated, even though she was still attending school. On Christmas Eve, Ron had proposed. She didn't even mind that they were only 19. She had loved Ron since she was 11. It was clear that he was the one for her. Her ring was simple, but very elegant. On the inside, the words swish and flick were engraved.

After her memory was over, she looked down at the same ring that was on her ring finger on her left hand. She truly couldn't have asked for a better life with the love of her life. She just truly hoped that Ron would accept Scorpius and Rose's relationship.

*** All in all, quite a few people knew about Rose and Scorpius's relationship. The good thing was, that all of those people were happy for the young couple. Love is love. When it happens, there's not much you can do. You just have to accept it. Love is really a great thing. For Rose and Scorpius, it's one of the best things that ever happened to both of them.

Author's Notes:Hey everyone! Okay, like I said before, I had major writers block today. Sorry, this chapter was kind of short and it sucked. It was mainly filler. But sometimes, you got to have some cute filler in there, to give the story more life. But, I hope you still enjoyed it though. It was actually a nice refresher for me. I still have to write how the others found out. I promise the next chapter will be better. So, as I say every time I write, thank y'all so much for all the reads, votes, and for those of you that have added this to your reading lists and library. Hey, we're almost to 2,000 reads! That's awesome! Anyways, as always, stay safe and healthy amigos.
