Special Chapter (Chan-centric)

01:33, 14 June 2019

"Hey Chan, where the hell are you?" Chan had to move the phone away from his ear because of how loud Sungyoon's voice was.

"I'm on my way. Just talked to Felix about something." He could hear chatters from the background. He's already imagining what strange things the guys were doing.

"You better be here or I'll haunt you in your dreams. The guys missed you."

"That's so gross, man. See you." He hang up, placed his phone on his pocket and walked away from his cousin's apartment complex. What he didn't expect was to be pulled a few steps away and be thrown to the ground. Not again. What did I do this time?

He stood up, not showing any sign that he was hurt with the way his elbow hit the cement. He just sighed and turned to look at his opponents. I guess Sungyoon could wait for a few minutes.

"Look who we have here, boys. If it isn't Mr. Perfect." The guy standing on the center spoke. The blonde squinted his eyes at their faces, not really able to recognize them with the poor lighting.

"Do I know you?" He asked politely, even though he knew where this would end. He just wanted to go home, change his clothes, and go to Sungyoon's place. He didn't have time for this, actually.

The center scoffed, as if judging how Chan was approaching them. "Do I know you?" He mimicked with a voice most children use when they got scolded by their parents. "How adorable, Bang. No, you don't know us. But I bet you know who Jong Jun was." His voice became menacing and Chan controlled his urge to snort. Why would people think that changing the tone of their voices would scare people like him?

"No. I have no idea who you're talking about. So if you could please excuse me, I have to— ugh!" He should've expected that people really get offended easily when you talk like you don't know anything about what they're talking. He just accepted the blow, still thinking who Jong Jun was. He fought with a lot of people before, a single person wasn't that important.

"Not so strong now, aren't we?" The others were laughing at his situation. Let's see who's gonna be laughing at the end, losers. The guy tried to spit at Chan's face, which was so disgusting, but failed miserably, his saliva hitting the ground. Chan just rolled his eyes.

"Not so strong now, aren't we?" Chan imitated what the guy did earlier, earning him a punch directed on his side and a kick to his thigh, making him kneel.

"Don't test my patience, Bang. You know for a quiet kid, you sure are arrogant."

Chan scoffed. "I didn't know you did a research on me before you came here."

He could feel the guy's eyes intensifying, ready to take Chan out, like his group of brainless buffoons were just his spectators.

"I don't know what you did to Jong Jun yesterday, but I bet you had some sort of help. You couldn't even withstand a few blows. What a shame."

Yesterday... Yesterday? Ah shit. That guy who was taking advantage of a drunk Felix on the club? It was a good thing that Chan went back immediately right after he took the restroom, seeing some ugly guy trying his best to kiss his cousin's skin, placing his hands on his body. He didn't tell Felix about it when the younger became sober, he just dragged that guy out if the club and did what he had to do. He hated people taking advantage on someone while they're at their vulnerable state. Now he was enraged.

"Just leave this place in peace. Your Jong Jun deserved that anyway." He smirked, making the others furious.

"You know, we're gonna let you go if you'd just admit that you're an idiot for messing with one of us yesterday, you little shit."

As much as Chan wanted to beat the crap out of these morons sooner, he saw a figure watching them behind the wall. He tried hard not to let these guys redirect their attention to the person watching them. This was his, and he actually kind of missed getting his knuckles dirty.

After a few exchanges of words, their bodies went to work. Punching here and there, kicking. Chan was so used to this that he was able to dodge all of their attempts to hit him. But when he heard a voice calling out for him, he lost his focus. That voice sounded familiar. Why are people so good at intervening in things?

"Hey! Watch out!" Chan turned around and saw a silhouette coming out from hiding. "Behind you— no!"

He stepped forward, just enough time to avoid the pointed object aimed at him. After a few moments, the guy was standing beside him and he turned to look at him with a serious expression, only to realize that it was Lee Minho from the same university he went to.

Having his focus taken, he felt a pang of pain sliding on his cheek. It hurted him, but he was surprised when Minho suddenly jumped at the guy before he could even do anything. When Chan thought that it was enough, he pulled the other guy and left, only to know that Minho was following him.

He was really tired that time and he had to catch up with Sungyoon and the rest, but Minho kept on blabbering about saying thank you. Chan felt thankful, yes. But his cheek was still aching a little bit so he just snapped at him. But Minho was a tough cookie, still complaining about Chan's lack of sincerity. When the older saw a police car coming their way, he immediately grabbed Minho and pushed him against a wall, covering his mouth.

When he fixed his gaze on the man in front of him, he was in awe. He didn't realize how Minho was breathtakingly beautiful. He didn't even pay attention to his friends and his cousin saying that he should get to know Minho because the brunette was a masterpiece. But this wasn't the time to be awestrucked. Officers were heading their way and the younger still kept on talking.

So he did what he thought was the best solution. Sealing Minho's lips with his own. At first it was just to shut him up and to make it look like they were doing something else, rather than being involved in a fight a few steps away.

But when the younger responded, Chan felt eager to do more, to feel more. His mouth tasted sweet and addicting, with so much experience. Chan felt giddy when the other placed his hands on his shoulder blades and Chan had the urge to do better. So he kissed him with so much intensity that he forgot why they were kissing in the first place. It just felt right.

Hearing the officers move away, he was taken back to reality that he just kissed Lee Minho, his cousin's best friend. So he apologized and walked away, heading directly to Sungyoon's place because Changbin and Jisung didn't need to see the cut on his cheek.

At Sungyoon's place, Minho's lips kept bugging Chan's mind. That was the first time he felt something like that. He wanted more, but he didn't even know if he would get to talk to Minho once again. He wasn't even paying attention to what the others were talking about, mainly scolding himself for getting someone involve.

And sure thing, the younger kept on avoiding him. He could see Minho looking from left to right in the cafeteria and scurrying away when he thought the coast was clear. He just didn't know that Chan let him out of his sight because he knew that the brunette might still be feeling awkward.

When his soccer competition came, which earned him flicks on his forehead by his roommates because he didn't tell them, he was so overwhelmed when he saw that Minho came.

There's just something in the younger that made him seem more attractive than before. Sure, Chan saw Minho as someone who had swag and appeal, but this time, it's like Minho was the only one who had those. Like no one ever could fathom his attractiveness.

Chan felt energized when the game started, his eyes only focused on the goal and on Minho. They would sometimes make eye contact and that made Chan grinning triumphantly. He was so glad that they introduced themselves properly that time, lingering his eyes on Minho for too long.

When Chan saw Minho being helplessly attacked by an asshole, all rational thoughts left and even without thinking, he immediately punched the other guy. He didn't know why, but he felt the need to be protective. He's a friend. He's a friend. He's a friend. He kept thinking that, and he knew too well how his heart was hammering against the idea of just being a friend. But he can't just jump into something he's not sure about.

The first time he hugged Minho, right after he knocked the guy down temporarily, he felt warm. His heart was aching when he saw the younger crying for help, disgusted at how people at the club didn't help Minho. When he saw Hyunho's face, he felt a little bit nervous. He knew who Hyunho was, what he can do. But for Minho's sake, he acted all tough and mighty. He was already there, he couldn't just back out and tell Minho that he made a mistake.

When he learned that Hyunho was Minho's abusive ex, Chan gripped the steering wheel a little too tightly. He was seriously driving, feeling the other taking glances at him. But he was still wrapped around the idea of Hyunho treating Minho like crap.

Chan and his old time friends were just having a fun time at the club, talking and drinking. Sungyoon kept on saying how he managed to talk to someone who's hot and got disturbed because the blonde kept asking for hiis presence. "If you arrived a little earlier, I might've gotten his number by now."

He was pissed and Chan just rolled his eyes. "You could find another one," he said to Sungyoon, not knowing that the other was pertaining to Minho. After a few shots, he wanted to go outside. His senses were tingling. "Guys, I'm gonna head out first. Have a lot in my plate." The others protested, but he didn't let them talk him in drinking until he got wasted.

And it's a good thing that he went out. If Chan hadn't told Sungyoon that he would head home first, who knows what would happen to Minho? He didn't like to think about it.

When Chan saw Minho peacefully sleeping in his car, he could feel his heart beating rapidly. A smile creeping its way onto his lips. He had to carry Minho all the way to their door and place him on his bed, ignoring Felix and Hyunjin's odd stares and questions. While in the process, he couldn't help but stare at Minho lovingly, adoringly. This is an angel right here.

He couldn't forget how he kissed Minho's forehead before leaving, tucking him in his blanket. "Good night, Min." He whispered softly, and he could hear the younger's cute snores. "Chan..." When he heard his name slip out of sleeping Minho's mouth, he felt more than fueled. Especially when he remembered how the younger agreed that they'd bury the hatchet about them kissing and being awkward. Even though that was all Chan could think about most of the days.

When they got closer, Chan was genuinely happy. He was kind of satisfied that they were treating each other as friends. But he was also kind of hoping that those stolen glances from Minho meant something. But more than that, he didn't hope for anything. He just wanted Minho to be safe.

He brought food over, his excuse was to feed his hungry friends after dance practice. But truth be told, he just wanted to see Minho. He wanted to see him smile, his eyes lighting up the room. He wanted to see him dance, because damn! Even though Chan tried to look at the others dancing, Minho easily stood out in his sight. He couldn't help but stare in awe with his dancing, while Minho kept on glancing at Chan when he moved. That sparked something in Chan's heart. Jisung would sometimes tease him that Minho might melt with how Chan's intense gaze was always given to the brunette.

He wanted to talk to the younger, make him laugh and make him feel that Chan was always there to support him with his passion for dancing. That's why he felt like a total asshole when he didn't come around for two weeks.

He was always at Sungyoon's place, having to learn that Hyunho's gang was searching for him for attacking their so-called 'master'. He didn't even do a serious damage to that old hag! He really, really wanted to get out of trouble. But it seemed like trouble was always looking for him.

"Look man, I told you not to mess with people quickly, especially when you know that 'people' is linked with Hyunho or is Hyunho himself." Sungyoon kept on ranting about his stupidity and Chan didn't complain. He was right after all.

"I know. It's just... I couldn't..." It was hard to say.

"Couldn't? I know you're hitting on someone, that being Hyunho's ex, but you should've thought about yourself. Hyunho will hunt you down!" He flung his arms to the air, expressing his distaste for Chan's rash decisions.

But Chan didn't regret standing up for Minho. He couldn't imagine Minho suffering and crying. He couldn't stand it. It was either him or Minho, because the world is so fucked up that there's less people who would want to help others in need.

Chan didn't tell Sungyoon that it was Minho. He didn't tell anyone that he saved Minho from distress. That's why no one knew about his whereabouts after class because he always made his way to this place. He was avoiding trouble for himself and headache for Sungyoon, the other not wanting to clean up Chan's wounds again.

But he decided to go see Minho and Hannah's performance that Saturday night. He didn't care if Hyunho would see him. It would have a large crowd afterall. Sungyoon told him to stay away from people who had connections with that psycho, but Chan was stubborn. So he secretly went out of his hideout and started walking to where the show was held.

But he didn't expect to see some random strangers blocking his way when he reached a desolated park. A gang was surrounding him and it took all of his powers to knock them out one by one. Hyunho was the last to go and see him, smirking like the fucking devil that he was. He didn't even care that his men were laying on the ground, clutching on something to lessen the pain traveling across their bodies.

Chan was already panting heavily, not sure if his body could still take another round. Still, he stood strong and calm. He was composing himself, trying to stable his breathing. Hyunho, excited to see Chan's blood spill, lunged forward.

Chan was just dodging, trying to see a weak spot so he could start taking his turn in giving attacks. But it seemed like Hyunho trained hard for this day. He was cursing and Chan still focused on how to hit him. After a while, he received a kick on his stomach and on his face. He could feel his whole body reacting to the hit.

"Tsk. I knew you were a weakling the first time a saw you." Hyunho was laughing like a mad man.

Cha still stood up and continued, finally seeing an opportunity to give Hyunho what he deserved.

After giving out several blows, he just left Hyunho and his gang, lying on the cold, hard ground. He didn't care about him anymore. Chan wanted to go see Minho and fulfill his promise to the younger.

And so he did. Even though he missed his sister's performance, she understood. But if he missed Minho's, it would be hard to explain. So even though his body was screaming to let him rest, he still cheered loudly for Minho because that's how he liked the guy.

When the sexy dance came in, it sent Chan overdrive. He was so focused, and no matter how many times he tried to avert his gaze, it was no use. Minho had his charms. He already casted a spell on Chan the first time their lips met, and the older wasn't complaining. He would gladly succumb to Minho's alluring smiles and pleasing character.

Chan saw how Minho smirked at him, their eyes talking in a way that both of them would understand. In that moment, Chan seemed to forget the aching pain he was feeling. He momentarily forgot how his face tingled with pain. Instead, it was replaced by a warm feeling, spreading across his cheeks and onto his ears. Minho was hot, he wouldn't deny it.

After their dance, as if on cue, Chan's eyesight became blurry and he had to call Hannah with dizziness about his situation. He went off the front stage and moved to the parking lot, pairs of eyes trained on him with how he was walking and clutching his stomach.

He fought the urge to just close his eyes while leaning against Minho's car, waiting for the younger to appear. He wasn't really expecting though, knowing that Minho would probably be angry at him for not getting in touch for two freaking weeks.

But hope filled his heart when he saw Minho's concerned face looking directly on his face.  He felt guilty. He didn't even try to contact Minho, yet the younger was still here, worried about his situation. Chan wanted to caress his face and just rest his forehead against Minho's. But he had little to no strength on doing it. So he just congratulated the other.

Minho hugged him, and even though his body felt limp, he returned the embrace. Fuck I missed him. Once they're bodies were attached, Chan felt like home. Like he was staying at where he belongs. It felt nice, superb. Just hugging Minho makes the butterflies in his stomach go aggressive.

Chan wasn't really sleeping while Minho drove the car. He just felt like closing his eyes, leaning against the window. Minho's presence made it hard for him to sleep. He didn't want the younger to disappear, even though he already knew that Minho wouldn't leave him.

"Hang on, Channie."

Chan suppressed his smile. He didn't want Minho to feel awkward or embarrassed. The overwhelming sensation he felt, the rapid beating of his heart, the images of Minho flashing in his mind: Chan could never sleep.

They finally arrived and Chan pretended like he just came from a deep sleep when Minho tried waking him up. The younger helped him get out, and Chan liked the feeling. Liked the feeling of having Minho by his side.

After his wounds were treated, not like it was something lethal or some sort, he didn't go to his room like his mother told him. He was just listening to how she was explaining to Minho the things that he's been through. Chan didn't like the idea of Minho knowing who he was. But hearing his mother sniffing and her voice cracking, he didn't have the strength to intervene. Chan knew she was hurting, and that made him guilty. So before they could finish, he immediately went to his bathroom and washed his face, carefully rubbing on the sore spots that his mother tended.

Chan heard Minho walk in, and he didn't know how to react. So he just stayed there longer. Apparently, he couldn't just stay in the bathroom forever. He had to face Minho. But he kind of regretted walking out when he saw how much of a beautiful mess Minho was, the thoughts of earlier dispersing rather quickly.

Minho, in his costume, tight jeans (too tight) that hugged his beautiful curves perfectly and a silk long sleeve that's hanging off on his shoulder, revealing his collarbone, made it hard for Chan to take away his gaze and direct it in other things.

Chan just threw him a pair of PJs, strongly focused on removing those insanely revealing clothes off of Minhi. And when the younger got out of his bathroom, Chan didn't know what he liked more. Hot Minho or cute Minho? Or maybe both.

His thoughts became irrational once they came face to face with each other, Chan's eyes trailing on Minho's sweet-looking lips. But his confidence faded when he remembered that Minho already knew everything. What's with Chan that he would like? I'm not as perfect as others say I am, and now Minho knew it, too. He already knows my other side, so what's left to like?

But the way the younger's eyes took a hold of his lips, Chan felt surging forward and just close the distance between them. And when Minho talked about him like Chan was the light of his life, the older's doubts vanished and the next thing he knew, he was kissing Minho. And for the first time in his life, he felt relieved. Like there was no other thing to be worried about but just to know how to give Minho the greatest kiss of his life. And then later on, the younger was kissing him back.

He felt delighted. Jolts of electricity ran through his veins and Chan could feel every spark. His body was tingling with a nice feeling and he could do this all day. But of course, his sister had to ruin their precious moment.

They just talked about what happened and the two girls kept on nagging at him and how Chan was such an idiot for dragging Minho to his problems. Sungyoon had called him and said that him and the rest of the group already took care of Hyunho, plus a long life lesson that would probably gross Chan out for life. Sungyoon was also a powerful figure, and Chan had all his trust in him since they become allies, which was probably way back when they still resided in Australia, just taking a vacation in Korea and happened to bump into each other while fighting.

After everything was settled, he quietly went back to his room to find a sleeping Minho. Chan just stood there, silently watching the younger sleep. He would look like a creep, but he was Minho's creep, so there was no problem at all.

He could hear soft snores, signalling that Minho was really tired from everything that happened. Chan climbed up on the bed and snuggled closer to Minho, putting an arm over his body. The younger, even though he was asleep, also snuggled closer to Chan. The blonde stroke Minho's hair, unable to sleep for a while. But after a few contented sighs, he finally fell into dreamland. This was the first time he fell asleep easily.

-----

"I can't believe you already met Sungyoon, I was so excited to introduce you earlier." Chan said, sulking. He wasn't feeling the best when he learned that Minho was the one Yoon had been flirting with at the bar when he came.

Minho was giggling at the sight of his sulking boyfriend, having fun that he seemed jealous about it. It was so hard to make Chan jealous, and now that the opportunity's here, Minho took it.

"I didn't even know you guys knew each other. Cheer up, Channie. I didn't even flirt back." Minho teased.

Chan was still turning his back against his boyfriend. They were now at Minho's shared apartment, specifically in his bedroom. Jisung and Changbin successfully convinced Chan to go to his cousin's apartment after they went clubbing, meeting with Chan's few friends. And when Sungyoon laid his eyes on Chan's hand, wrapped around Minho's waist protectively, he instantly recalled how he met Minho that one fateful night. To Chan's surprise, Minho didn't object.

Even when Yoon already knew that Minho was Chan's, both of them still kept talking and laughing at something Chan did. They were having fun. So all night, Chan wasn't in the mood. Even when Minho handed him drinks, Chan didn't take them. He was still caught up with what happened earlier. This is so pathetic, but I can't help it!

Chan just grunted as a response, his back still facing Minho. Was he jealous? Of course I am! His boyfriend was hot and very, very attractive. Eyes would always follow Minho wherever he went and that made Chan upset. Although he really didn't mind most of the time, but earlier was different. He just felt like being jealous.

As they were now laying in Minho's bed, Chan could feel an arm enveloping his body through his side. Minho pressed his face against the older's back and lifted his leg so he could place it on top of Chan's own. Now he was clinging to Chan like a koala.

"Channie..."

No response.

"Channie hyung..." Minho made sure that his voice was cute since he knew that Chan liked it.

But there was still no response.

"My baby Channie..."

At that, Chan gave up. He turned to face a smiling Minho. He raised his eyebrows. "What are you smiling at?"

"You're cute when you're jealous." Minho whispered, moving closer so their noses collided, lips almost pressing.

"I'm not jealous." Chan said, wrapping his arm on Minho's waist.

"I kind of like it when you're jelaous. Maybe I should talk to Sungyoon more—"

"Do that and I will make sure that you won't speak a single word to anyone other than me." Chan piped, hugging Minho tightly.

"Oh? And how are you gonna do that?" The younger's tone was still teasing, obviously enjoying how Chan was reacting.

"I change my mind. No more kisses for you if you do that." With that, Minho whined.

"No fair! You talk to him all the time!"

"Good night, Min." He whispered before acting like he was squirming out of Minho's grip, which only tightened in the process.

"Channie... I was just kidding." Now Minho was pouting, sending Chan's heart into overdrive. The older really adored Minho when he was acting so cute. "You're so cute."

"You're way cuter when you're jelaous though." The younger responded.

"I wasn't jealous."

"Sure you weren't." Now Minho found his way to lay on top of Chan, his face buried on the crook of Chan's neck. "I'm not your bed, Minho."

"You feel so comfortable to sleep on, Channie." Minho murmured against his neck, making him chuckle. "Hey that tickles!"

Chan placed his arms on top of Minho's back, embracing the other tightly. "You're lucky I love you."

That made Minho stiff. "Y-You what?"

As if Chan didn't know why Minho asked that, he just repeated what he said. "You're lucky I love you."

"Say that again." Minho said, lifting his head so he could see Chan's face with the help of his bedside lamp. Chan smiled, his dimples poking out.

"I love you." This time, it was slower, it was more sincere. This was the first time one of them said this phrase and Minho was now at the verge of tears.

"Hey, hey. Why are you tearing up?" Chan was chuckling as he brought his hands to cup Minho's soft cheeks.

"Don't laugh at my emotions, jerk! Say that one more time, please."

Chan sighed again, a fond expression plastered on his face. "I said, I love you. I love the way you talk, the way you laugh, the way you move. I love your voice when you sing in the shower—"

"You were listeni—"

"Shut up. I'm not finished. I love your eyes, the way they shine, the way they sparkle. I love how you brag about your nose because it's really perfect. I love your lips, the way they taste, the way their pressed against mine..."

Minho could feel his blush worsen.

"I love you and everything about you. I love your awful comebacks. I love your lazy ass. I love how you looked at others when they stare at me. I love your possessiveness. I love how you cutely snore while you sleep, it just makes me want to lay beside you and listen to your stable breathing. I love how you try so hard to impress me—"

"Hold up, you're just making fun of my flaws!"

"I'm not, idiot. I'm loving your flaws because that's what makes you, you. I love every imperfection you own and I love you. I love that—"

"Alright. As much as I want to hear more, you're already making me cry. And, my neck also hurts from looking down. And, without further ado, I love you, too. Damn, Chan! Did you know how long I waited to hear those words from your mouth? That took you forever!"

Chan just laughed, lifting his head so he could connect their lips and start kissing.

Minho laid beside Chan, overwhelmed. "You know, Channie, I never thought that I'd end up with you. One time, I'm just walking down the streets, and then the next time, you kissed me... And now we're here. Time flies so fast."

"Yeah. I love you, Minnie."

"Love you, too, Channie."

"I love you more."

"I love you the most."

"I love you more than most."

"I love you— wait, are we really arguing about this?"

Chan just chuckled. "Hmm. We should sleep. Come here." He opened his arms and let Minho snuggle closer to his side. Maybe the younger was really, really exhausted since he fell asleep right away.

Chan kissed Minho's forehead and whispered a 'good night' before closing his eyes and hoping that everything would end up like this. Be like this. But he knew better. All they have to do is to stay strong and grounded.

"Thanks for accepting me for who I am, Min." Chan whispered before forcing himself into unconsciousness.
