A Hidden Confession

"Bring this to Lin for me." Jaz gave you a box full of cables and cords.

"Lin?" you asked.

"Right.. I forgot to introduce you to the band. I'm pretty sure he's right around the corner over there. Now, go! The show's about to start." she said.

You rushed to a person who looks like Lin to you. "Jaz ordered me to give it to you. I hope you're Lin, are you?"

"Yes you're correct and I'll gladly take this. Thank you." he said.

You felt relieved after your first task. I guess you're running as an "errand girl" and your boss is no other than Jaz. Going here and there is tiring but you're doing your best just to earn money.

The show is starting and all you could do is watch from backstage and well, run around the place delivering boxes or a bottle of water to the members.

Taking a peek from the curtains, you spot Chifuyu's amazed expression on his face. 'He looks so happy.. I wonder if I could make him look like that..'

"Y/n! Could you hold this for me?" Eric called out to you.

You rushed to him and did what he asked you to do. "When are you gonna go out there?" you asked him.

"I won't be performing with Jaz today. She wanted to solo the show for today." he answered.

"Ohh. By the way, when did she start to perform like with you and the others?" you spoke.

"About 2 or 3 years ago. She likes performing, actually let me correct that. She loves performing in a big crowd and now she has achieved it." he responded.

"Jaz is that popular even outside the city?" you asked.

"I guess she has a name in a few other places. Jasmine's not as popular as celebrities seen on TV but yeah she has a name." he replied.

"Hm.. do I really have a chance to beat her?" you whispered to yourself.

"Let me have that back. Thanks for helping me, Y/n. We should chat more often." Eric said before leaving and going to a room.

"Yeah sure! No problem." you said as you waved your hand at him.

Your phone beeps and sees it's a text from Chifuyu. The message read, "How's the performance from there? Are you having a good time?"

You replied back, "Why don't you come here? I'm sure Jaz will allow it. But yes. I am enjoying the time here."

He responded quickly, "I'll go there later once she is done with the show. It's good to know that you're happy there. TTYL!"

Once you kept your phone inside your pocket, your never-ending tasks came flooding into you.

2 hours in and the show has finally ended. Tired from all the work, you crouched down by the curtains near the center stage.

Catching your breath, you spoke, "What a tiring day and it's the first day too!"

Fuyu came to you and brought you a cold water jug. "This will hopefully help you cool down."

"Thanks, Fuyu. Where'd you get a jug?" you asked.

"It's mine, don't you remember? I had that jug for a long time already." he responded.

You froze for a second and thought, 'So.. he drank from this jug before and I am drinking from it right now..'

Chifuyu sat beside you. "Wanna go home?"

"Huh? No, I'm just starting to work here. What do you mean by that?" you answered.

"Haha! I'm just testing to see if you're gonna say yes since you were kinda complaining a while ago." he said.

"Oh c'mon. I do complain but I make sure to still finish the job!" you said.

"You really did change, Y/n. I don't know how you did it in just a day or two but you changed a lot..in a good way. I feel like I'm talking to a whole different person right now." he said, showing a soft smile.

"I changed because of a certain person. I wanted to show them what I can do until they notice me." you responded, bowing your head down a little.

"Oh? A certain person that I don't know about? Go on, tell me more." he said, teasing you again.

"You'll find out who it is some day." you replied.

Chifuyu gently patted your head then stood up. "Let's go back to the band now, shall we?"

Your best friend held out his hand to help you stand up and you took it, slowly nodding your head as a response to him.
