A Short Moment Together

The next morning, Y/n woke up very early to meet up with Chifuyu, hoping that he'll be alone. Unfortunately, Jaz and the band were already there at the bus station with your best friend standing by the side.

"Hey, Y/n! Glad you're early and as always, I'm first before you." Chifuyu teased you.

You awkwardly laughed and said, "Heh. Yeah, how are you always first?"

'I hope I'm the only one to you.. no second or third.'

Jaz spoke, "Everything ready? We're about to leave in a few minutes."

Everybody present just nodded their heads. "Great! Let's head inside. I call dibs on the end seat of the bus!"

Eric, one of the band members, said, "Jaz! Save me a seat, will you?"

"Sure! Come here." she said, motioning the male band member to follow her inside the bus.

"Y/n, wanna sit next to me?" your best friend asked.

"Of course!" you happily replied.

Going outside the city is a first experience to Y/n. She's happy to feel a new environment, bonus points for Chifuyu being right beside her.

Almost half an hour into the road trip, you felt Fuyu's head bumping against your shoulder. It looks like he fell asleep.

You let him rest his head on your shoulder comfortably. The sight of his face up close made your heart beat loudly. You could hear it loud and clear everytime it beats.

Jaz accidentally woke up Chifuyu, not knowing that he was already in a deep sleep.

"Huh? Oh, Jaz. Do you need something?" he asked, slowly rubbing his eyes.

"Oops, sorry Chifuyu. I didn't know you were asleep. Do you have a bottle of water? Mine's already finished because someone drank it without my permission." she said, side eyeing Eric.

"Here. Take it, it's yours now." he said, handing a cold bottle of water.

"Thanks!" she said then went back to her seat.

Chifuyu locked eyes with you. He started to speak, "Hm? Is there something on my face?"

"Ah! No.. I just had a feeling to look at you." you said, changing the direction of your eyes.

"You're weird sometimes but it's funny." he commented.

Continuing to speak, "Do you know why Jaz let you come with us?"

"Maybe she's just being nice to me, no?" you wondered.

"It's because she plans on paying you for your service on the band." he responded.

"R-Really..? She really said that?" you asked, eyes widen as you look at Chifuyu.

"Yeah! Jaz is such a nice person deep down inside. Remembering her past makes me feel heavy.. she suffered a lot." he said.

You stayed quiet as you see your best friend changing mood, getting a bit of a sad aura building around him.

Poking his left cheek, you said, "We're almost at the place and you wanna have this gloomy vibe?"

He looked at you straight in the eyes and started to chuckle. "You're right. Speaking of the place, let's check the placement and schedule."

You agreed to what he said and started to have some kind of a meeting with him on what's about to happen once they get to the designated area.
