Birthday party

You've showered done your hair and are in the process of getting dressed when bucky returns to the room

"Y/L/N you in here" he proclaims

You step out of the bathroom pulling up and buttoning your shorts

^your look^

"You called Barnes" he freezes and looks you up and down before biting his lip "get it out of your mind Barnes you need to shower and get dressed Nathaniels party kicks off in like an hour" you insist sitting on the bed to slip on your white sneakers

"I don't know what you mean Y/N I was just looking at a friend the way I usually do" he verbalises taking his shirt off and making his way for the bathroom

"Oh well in that case lucky steve" you laugh grabbing your cellphone and heading out of the room

-------Buckys POV

You have gotten dressed after your shower putting on a tight-fitting red T-shirt and some jeans before heading downstairs.

You see Natasha wanda and Laura prepare the party food in the kitchen,"You ladies need any help" you queries

"No, we're all good here sweetie grab yourself a beer and go join the guys out on the porch" Laura responds

You grab one and heads out sitting down to join Tony, Clint, Steve Bruce and vision who are all deep in an array of conversations

You look down at the yard and sees Y/N playing tag with the kid's Sam and Pietro she's laughing *god I love the sound of her laugh*

------Your POV

You are having a brilliant time running around with Lila and Cooper playing with kids was so refreshing they haven't a care in the world and it made you so happy.

It's Pietro's turn to catch and he has promised he won't use his speed as that would be cheating he's gaining on you, you're trying so damn hard to outrun him you run behind the barn thinking you've lost him you breathe and then your bashed up against the barn wall there in front of you stands Pietro looking very smug with himself

"You can never escape me Princessa" he asserts before placing his lips onto yours

The kiss was sweet and delicate very different from those you and Pietro had ever previously shared it lasts a few moments before he pulls away

"Well um that was unexpected" you state with your eyes wide

"Yeah I don't know why I just did that adrenaline from the game probably" he excuses himself before heading back around the barn and making his way back up to the house you go back around a moment later

"Guess I'm it now Pietro caught me" you awkwardly giggle glancing up at the porch only to see bucky sitting there with an unreadable look on his face.You play a few more rounds of tag with the kids and Sam before Laura summons you all for lunch.

You guys devour all the delicious food Laura Wanda and Natasha have made and then a cake is brought out and happy birthday is sung to little Nathaniel.

A few hours have passed and it is now 7 pm Nathaniel has been put to bed Lila Cooper and Pietro are sitting in the living room watching 'lilo and stitch' *things with piet have been normal since the little kiss behind the barn so we shouldn't dwell on it he probably was right just an adrenaline thing.*

You're sitting outside with everyone else enjoying drinks and their company

"Who wants another" you propose as you arise to get more drinks

Everyone wants one

"I'll come give you a hand" bucky offers

"I'm sure you will" Sam jokes and wanda smacks his chest

You're at the fridge grabbing the beers when buck snakes his arms around your waist and begins peppering kisses down your neck you let out a little moan, before turning yourself around and pushing him back

"What the hell are you doing" you question

"Is that not pretty clear" he goes to kiss your lips you place your hand on his chest and look deep into his eyes

"No this isn't happening"

You take the beers outside giving them to everyone before letting them know you're heading to bed

Bucky follows you closely behind with the other beers giving out the remaining few before following you inside

"Keep the noise down you two remember this is a family home" Clint jokes as Laura swats him in the head

------You're both in the room door closed.

"I can't keep doing this bucky" you proclaim waving your hands in the air "Last night was meant to fix it get it out of our systems so we could be normal again be us again"

"You really thought that fucking me would make me stop loving you for someone so smart Y/L/N you can be really fucking dumb" he retaliated

"Well I dunno ok I would do anything, literally anything to not know anymore it kills me knowing that you love me and I can't love you back" you shout pulling at your hair

Bucky walks up to you and places his hands on your shoulder "why can't you love me back" he asks with sorrow in his eyes

"Please don't touch me Barnes I'm sorry this is stupid my whole idea was stupid I'm gonna sleep down with Pietro tonight and tomorrow we will all head home and will pretend this weekend never happened" you utter removing yourself from his grasp before going to grab some clothes and leave

"ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS" bucky bellows his eyes full of anger and frustration "You are really going to sleep beside fucking maximoff I can't stress this enough Y/N for someone so smart you are real fucking dumb!"

"I'm sorry what" you feel your own anger building as well as absorbing the extreme rage bucky has radiating from him

"That kid is in love with you too are you completely clueless" "I know he kissed you behind the barn the way he came out looking embarrassed and your face I know that face I've seen that face filled with confusion" bucky remarks

"No he isn't he's my friend that's all, yeah he did kiss me behind the barn but it was nothing just a silly little thing" You shake your head bucky is wrong Pietro doesn't love you "We're fine unlike you he can separate things he's been completely normal since the barn incident"

"Really completely normal, well your completely normal with Pietro makes me want to rip his damn head off" bucky professes clenching his fist "holding your waist resting his head on your shoulder whispering in your ear"

"That's normal for us we do that stuff it doesn't mean anything" you insist

"AHHHHH" bucky throws his head back in frustration he walks over to you and grabs your face "Y/N you are killing me" he lets go and walks over dropping himself to the bed

"you're wrong Pietro doesn't love me and the way your acting I don't think you love me either I think your misunderstanding love" you're now crying tears running down your cheek "I hate this, I hate you" you're sitting on the floor knees at your chest with your arms wrapped around "why are you doing this Y/N you're such an idiot you're so stupid" you begin hitting yourself in the head

Bucky leaps up grabbing your hands to stop you from hurting yourself you look at him your eyes full of tears"I'm so sorry" You mutter with broken words he wraps his arms around you "Y/N I shouldn't have said anything" he stays on the floor holding you until your tears stop flowing.

"I'm ok I'm ok" you repeat to reassure yourself and Bucky. He lets you go and you get onto your feet

"What should I do," you ask looking at bucky puzzled.

"What do you wanna do?" He replies

"I should go talk to Pietro, yeah?" You look at buck for some kind of wisdom

"If he loves you like I do he'll be OK, all he'll want will be you in his life even if you don't feel how he does" bucky retorts with sadness in his eyes You lean up and kiss his cheek he rubs his hand down your back as you part.

Out the door and down the stairs you go in search of Pietro to have a 'talk'
