My Bloody Valentine

08:46, 15 February 2015

The  blood  and  bones reminded  him  of  roses.  So  delicate  and  so  easily  broken.  Blood  covered  the  once  vibrant  green  grass,  leaving  the  ground  stained  forever.

Today was February 14th. For humans it would be Valentine's Day. Apparently dark angels didn't think much of it, especially since there wasn't a whole lot to love. Michael was still receiving medical attention, Luke wasn't anywhere to be found, Alessa was locked in her room, and you had no idea where Calum and Ashton were. Fabulous. You wandered the halls in the castle, your mind set on the angels you loved. It wasn't easy to just forget everything that's been happening and everything that will happen. The walls seemed to be closing in around you and your breathing became heavier. You felt the need to escape but you knew you couldn't. Ashton would find out and would definitely not be Ok with that. You turned down a darker corridor and stopped to take a few deep breaths and calm down.  You're  Ok.  You're  gonna  be  Ok.  Luke's  Ok.  Michael's  Ok.  Alessa...hopefully  is  Ok.  Kept playing through your mind as you caught your breath. A shiver suddenly went down your spine and goosebumps appeared on your skin. "Happy Valentine's Day Y/N."

You spun around, looking straight into the eyes of Ashton. The fake smile on his face widened and his eyes flashed red, his hands behind his back. "I apologize if I startled you. That was not my intention. However, I have been looking for you." He said cooly. Your hands shook a bit and you tried not to show it. "W-Why were you looking for me?" You asked quietly. He quickly whipped a hand out from behind his back and held up a single rose. The edges of the petals were wilted and black, but the bud was a bright scarlet red. The stem of the flower was a dark green and the thorns protruded from the stem. It was beautifully dangerous. "For you my dear. It reminded me of you. The flower itself is beautiful and nonthreatening. But if you look further towards the stem, you find the thorns that will cut up your fingers. How could something so beautiful leave a wound that stings like a needle?" He asked, sounding like a poet with his way with words. "That's why it reminded me of you. Beautiful and harmful to others around it. No one ignores the beauty because that's all they see. They don't understand the truth. But I do. I always do."

He spoke with such clarity and melody. It was very enticing if you didn't know how dangerous he was.

"I insist that you have this. It is a reminder." He explained. You looked from his eyes to the rose. "A reminder of what?" You questioned, not liking where this was going. He didn't answer and pressed the rose into your palm and left without another word. You winced slightly at the thorns digging into your skin.

Michael opened the door on the second knock, his eyes black. "Y/N. Did something happen?" He asked, his shirt nowhere to be found. You could see the bruises where Luke had pressed his fingers into Michael's neck. They were healing, but they were still a nasty purple color. You continued to let your eyes scan down his chest and torso before Michael took your hand. "Y/N I know I'm incredibly good looking but you need to tell me if you're alright." A blush appeared on your cheeks and you nodded. He let out a sigh of relief and pulled you inside, bringing you against his bare upper body. He was warm and soothing. You could hear his heart beat and feel his hands holding you against him. Maybe now shouldn't be the time to bring up Ashton and the rose. "Happy Valentine's Day aziazor. I have a surprise for you."

Before you could ask what, he pulled on his shirt and opened the veranda doors. "C'mere vvrbs."  He said softly with a smile. You stepped closer to him and he wrapped his arms around your waist with a knowing grin. "Hold on tight  aziazor."  He whispered lightly in your ear, tightening his grip on you. You instinctively held on to him and looked in his now very green eyes. "Ol  phama  ge  christeos  elasa  carbaf."  He said seriously, kissing your forehead. "What does that mean?" He smirked and lifted off into the air and over the edge of the veranda. His large purple wings were still folded against his back, making you worry. Well of course you'd be worried. He jumped off the edge of a veranda. You were nearing the ground and you closed your eyes and gripped his shoulders tightly. When the crash didn't come, you heard Michael chuckle and the sound of his wings flapping in the air. You opened your eyes and looked up into his, a smile on his face. "I said I won't let you fall."

Michael flew through the sky like he was a bird and held on to you tightly, but not tight enough to hurt. The texture of his wings felt soft against your fingertips and the color was even brighter when the sun was shining. The feel of his arms around you was all so familiar, comfortable and safe. "Are you alright  vvrbs?"  You nodded in response and he smiled a cocky half smile. "Good. I have a feeling you'll love this." You recognized Oresa Park. More specifically, the fountain he had shown you the first time he brought you here. He lowered down to the ground and set you lightly on your feet. You were still a little wobbly kneed, but he kept you upright. He led you over towards the crystal blue fountain and sat on the edge of the softly flowing water. You followed his lead and sat beside him, admiring the coming sunset. "So. In your world, today is Valentine's Day." He started. "I picked up on some of the standards and I think I've thought of something I could do." He reached into his pocket and pulled out the necklace Alessa had given to you. "I didn't even know you took that..." You admitted and he looked over at you. "Well you do now. But I've added something to it. I hope you find it to your liking." A slight blush crept on his face as he handed you the delicate chain. There was the blue crystal that was already on the chain. But there was a small addition. Hanging right in front of the crystal was a sparrow with a blue tail. It looked exactly like the one tattooed on Michael's wrist.

"It's beautiful Michael. Thank you so much." You whispered and felt the small trinket between your fingers. "You're very welcome aziazor.  I had it made after I got the tattoo. It took quite a while to finish apparently." He explained and lightly touched the charm, brushing your hand. "Well it's perfect. Now I've got even more protection than I did before." You said with a grin, glancing up into his eyes. Once again they were bright green. "Michael?" He leaned in slowly, keeping eye contact. "Yes?" Closer. Your breath hitched as he moved closer. "W-What does green mean?" His lips were now touching yours ever so slightly. His hand twisted in your hair. "It means adoration. Or....." He pressed his lips to yours and kissed you softly but passionately. Your eyes closed and you placed your hands on his chest and melted into his kiss. His lips were soft and tasted of cinnamon and a trace of blood. He pulled away very slowly and looked into your eyes. "Love."

The  rose  may  be  beautiful,  but  there's  a  secret  you  do  not  know.

Ashton

Her face when I gave her the rose. So much fear. Good. It should be that way. Sure it was a beautiful flower, but it wouldn't be in the morning. For it is another warning. She is testing my patience. If I could get her to see how a beautiful thing can be ruined in the blink of an eye, she'll be singing a different tune. Blood is what she'll see instead of beautiful petals.

The  threats  grow  by  the  hour.  All  will  be  revealed  sooner  than  you  expect.  That  beautiful  simple  flower,  what  a  shame.  Darkness  will  overcome  light....will  the  light  continue  to  shine?  Or  will  it  disperse  and  give  up?  Burgundy  eyes  full  of  sadness  and  loss  of  hope.  Green  eyes seeing  into  the  far  future.  Black  eyes  gone  red.  Purple  eyes  pick  a  side.  Everything  finally  falling  into place....or  is  it?
