Chapter 5

20:48, 23 February 2018

July 1, 2013

Jake and Sherry entered the Thai Lung building, and were met with the sight of Leon and Helena facing Simmons and his men. Simmons was on top of a catwalk, looking down on Leon and Helena, with the men aiming their guns at them. Sherry rushed forward and put herself in the middle. Simmons saw her and smiled.

" Ahh, Agent Birkin," he cooed. " Impeccable timing. Kindly take these two into custody, won't you?"

" They say that you are behind the terrorists attacks. Is it true?"

"What, are they running down the streets, screaming it to anyone who will listen?!"

" Answer me!" Sherry demanded. Simmons looked at her with an expressionless face.

" It's for the benefit of the United States- and global security," Simmons answered truthfully.

" I don't see how murdering the president is good for the country!" Leon shouted. Sherry looked between Leon and Simmons in disbelief. That could not be true.

" The president's dead?"

" Well, we have Leon to thank for that," Simmons answered.

"Goddamn you, Simmons!" Helena cried.

" Dispose of them," Simmons commanded. The men at his side began firing at the four on the ground. Leon and Helena ducked out of view quickly, and Jake grabbed a hold of Sherry's waist and followed suit.

" HOLD YOUR FIRE!" Simmons shouted, and the gunshots ceased. " Those two are still of use to us."

Sherry turned and faced Leon, trying to wrap her head around the situation. She could not believe that, after everything she had been told, that Simmons was truly behind the attacks. It scared her on how much she had trusted the wrong person.

" Alright, Mr. Smart Guy," Jake spoke sarcastically. " What's the plan?"

" I need to you keep Sherry safe. We'll take care of Simmons," Leon answered.

" That's something I can do," Jake agreed.

" Wait," Sherry butted in. She pulled out her phone and pulled out the small SD card she had grabbed back at the facility. She looked at it for a second, then handed it over to Leon.

" This is the information to create a vaccine for the C-Virus. Simmons wants it."

" Thank you. I'll send a call into FOS to come get you guys and take you to safety," Leon told them. They nodded, then looked at their options. Across from them was a door leading out of the building.

" Do you think you guys can make it to the other side and get the hell out of here quick enough?" Leon asked.

" Yeah, that should be easy enough," Sherry said.

" Alright." Leon aimed his gun, and Helena did the same. Sherry and Jake got into a push off position, waiting for the que.

" NOW!" Leon shouted, and Sherry and Jake booked it for the other side. Helena and Leon shot at the men and Simmons, then took cover behind another crate. Sherry and Jake made it through the door and were met with J'avo. Sherry aimed her gun, but so did Jake. They stood back to back, facing the enemy.

" You said you would run!" Sherry accused.

" I lied."

The J'avo attacked, and shot rang out clear as day. Bodies fell onto the floor, blood splattered on the walls, and screams echoed around the duo. Sherry heard Jake curse, and she watched him throw his gun to the side, and instead raised his fists, waiting for the next unlucky victim. Though it should have been impossible, more J'avo were flooding into the room faster than a tsunami. Sherry quickly ran out of bullets for her handgun, and she put it in her pocket and pulled out her assault shotgun she had acquired back on the mountain.

Something from behind attacked her, hitting her head and knocking her down. She was picked up by a J'avo and was being carried away.

" Let me go!" she screamed. " JAKE!"

" SHERRY!"

Sherry saw the anger in his eyes, and watched in awe as his speed increased, along with his strength. He grabbed the J'avo closest to him and snapped its neck, then made his way over to Sherry. More J'avo surrounded him, but he killed them all with ease, using all his new acquired strength. Sherry could see him slowly begin to tire out, and she fought the J'avo holding her. She was able to headbutt it with the back of her head, causing it to drop her. She got up and tried to make her way to Jake. She could not allow them to take him away. Not again. She was grabbed once again, and the arm around her tightened, causing the breath she had left to leave her body. She reached out to Jake, and he reached for her, but he was grabbed by multiple J'avo and pulled in the opposite direction. The sight of Jake reaching for her was the last thing Sherry saw before she fell unconscious.

---------------------------------------

Cecile made her way onto the roof of a building near the ocean, where she could see a larger carrier boat slowly move away from shore. She didn't have anything that could help her get onto the ship, and she couldn't see a small motor boat anywhere, though she was near the docks. She looked around, and saw a large metal architecture in the water. She could jump to it, but it was going to be difficult.

She prepared to launch herself to the closest beam when an arm wrapped around her waist and pulled her close. The sound of a grappling hook filled her ears, and a second later, she was flying through the air, straight towards the metal post. When her feet touched the ground, she spun and looked at the person. To her relief, this one was wearing a red blouse and black jeans.

" Hey, mom."

" Trying to get onto the boat?"

" Yeah. You?"

" Like mother, like daughter," Ada said, chuckling. She held out her arm, and Cecile gratefully moved closer. Once again, they flew through the air and landed safely on the boat. They ducked down and out of sight of the spotlights as soon as they landed. Cecile looked at the boat they were on. She saw a red mercedes riddled with bullet holes parked neatly on the boat, while a military humvee was next to it, totaled and blackened by an explosion.

" They actually made it," Cecile murmured.

" Who?"

" Chris and Piers. They had been following the other Ada, trying to catch her, but she had made the jump with her car onto this boat. I saw Chris speed up and jump, but I never saw them land. Looks like they did, and they made it out alive. There's no bones, so they didn't get caught in the explosion."

" That's good," Ada responded. " I like that pendant of yours. Where'd you get it?"

Cecile looked down at her pendant, which was gleaming even in the dim lighting.

" Chris. He got it for me a while ago. I don't remember when, though."

" I see," Ada responded. " So, you're looking for those two, then?"

" Yeah, but what about you?"

" I'm here for my doppelgänger."

"Oh. I guess this is where we part ways once again."

" Not for long, I promise," Ada said, then pulled Cecile into an embrace. Cecile hugged her back, then pulled away and headed towards the interior of the ship.

" Cecile."

Cecile turned back and looked at her mother. Ada stared at her with love and fear.

" Be careful, okay?" Ada told her.

" Will do," Cecile replied, then waved goodbye and continued on her way. She hoped her theory about the two men still being alive was right.

---------------------------------------

Piers woke up slowly, his head pounding harshly. He could hear the sound of the ship moving through the water, and he could smell the salt water strongly in his nose. He could also smell mint and smoke. He opened his eyes slowly, then jumped at the sight. In front of him was the last person he had expected to see.

" Took you long enough to wake up," Cecile chided.

Piers sat up and hugged her. He heard the tiny gasp that escaped from her, and she wrapped her arms around him, holding him tight. Piers buried his face into her neck, savoring the scent that comforted him. He pulled away, but only far enough to see her face. She was looking healthier, and almost happier. He could see the relief in her eyes, clear as a summer sky. He pulled her close again, but instead of hugging her, he kissed her.

He heard a noise of surprise from her, but he didn't care. He was tired of hiding his feelings. He wanted her to know. Right now, what he needed was for her to return the feeling, but he knew she wouldn't. Especially not after what he did to her the first time.

She surprised him.

She wrapped her arms around him and pulled him closer, kissing him back with the same intensity he had shown her. Her kisses were soft at first, then became more greedy as Piers tried to pull back slightly, teasing her. He laughed against her skin, suddenly feeling in control. A couple times, he could've sworn he heard her whimper when he pulled away, and it pleased him. She really did feel the same way he did.

Cecile suddenly pulled away, and Piers tried to pull her back. She put a hand up, and the fun and amusement was no longer in her eyes. Instead, there was concern and seriousness.

" Where's Chris?"

" Shit!" Pier cursed, remembering what had happened. He could not believe he had forgotten about Chris. Guilt washed over him, and he stood up, helping Cecile in the process.

" We've got to find him before any of the J'avo do," Cecile said, taking charge of the situation. Piers agreed and began to follow her. It suddenly hit him that she was here, and not with Leon.

" Why are you here? I mean, how did you get here?"

" My mother," she answered casually. Piers made a noise, and Cecile got the point. She sighed and faced him.

" Try to keep an open mind, okay?"

" I can't promise anything, but I'll try," Piers replied.

Cecile took a deep breath in, held it, then let it out slowly.

" Remember how I said that the Ada we are chasing is a doppelganger?"

" Yeah?"

" Well, the reason I know that is because my mother is the real Ada Wong."

Of all the things that she could have said, this one shocked the hell out of him. He began looking at her closely, and realized that she did look similar to Ada. They had the same almond shaped eyes, the same lip shape, body shape, and the same attitude. How he didn't notice it until now was beyond him.

" I am so dumb," was all he said.

" No, you're not," she reassured. " Honestly, I didn't figure it out until I met my mother back at the hotel building next to the docks. That was the first time in fifteen years since I had seen her, and I didn't even recognize her. Kind of sad, but, that's the way things work, I guess."

" What are you two talking about?"

The couple turned around and saw Chris standing there, a huge bruise forming on his face. He smiled at Cecile, and she ran to him and hugged him. He whispered something in her ear that Piers could not hear, but he watched as her face became bright red, and his did the same. He had an idea of what he had told her.

" WHAT?!" Cecile screamed, then looked at Piers, then back to Chris, and back again.

" What's wrong?" Piers asked.

" Why was it never brought to my attention that you're twenty-seven years old?" she asked him accusingly. Piers couldn't help it. He burst out laughing, realizing that he had never told her. She looked at him in mock horror, then began laughing too.

A shot rang out, and the group became dead silent, listening for another shot. Cecile saw a red light aimed at Piers's back, and she pushed him out of the way just as the sniper shot off another round. Chris moved behind a crate and aimed his gun at the sniper. Cecile had landed on top of Piers, and they looked at each other. She could feel the heat between them increase rapidly, and she could feel their heartbeats pick up pace. Cecile got up quickly, cleared her throat, and held out a hand for Piers. He took it, and she pulled him to his feet with ease. The two pulled out their guns, and prepared themselves for another fight.

---------------------------------------

" He's getting away!" Helena Harper shouted to Leon Kennedy, who was trying to finish off the last of the J'avo. He looked and saw Simmons walking away, and falling onto a moving train.

" Let's go!" Leon responded, and the two dashed forward and barely made it onto the train. They stood up slowly, finding their balance before chasing after Simmons. Leon took the lead, heading inside one of the carts, following Simmons every movement, making sure not to lose him. He was not going to get away this time. He was going to pay for his crimes. Leon would make sure of it.

" Leon, we can get up to the roof from here," Helena said, pointing to the roof exit. Leon agreed, then made a stirrup with his hands and boosted Helena up. She bent down and pulled Leon up with her. When he found his balance, the two continued, keeping their sights on Simmons, who was on the edge of the train, listening intently to something in his hand. Leon and Helena approached him with extreme caution. He was still a dangerous man.

"Give it up, Simmons! It's over," Leon spoke to him. Simmons turned around to face the couple. Leon winced at the sight of this once respectable man. He looked awful, and Leon soon saw why. Simmons' veins were protruding from his neck, colored gray. It wasn't just the veins in his neck, however. They were showing up all over his face. Leon saw that in his right hand, he was holding a needle and, in his left hand, a phone.

" You still chase me with that woman on the loose?" Simmons accused. Leon looked at him with confusion.

" What woman?"

" That traitor, Ada Wong!" Simmons cried. " Who knows what she has in store."

" Another team was sent after her. You, Simmons, you're all ours."

" Are you here to avenge the president? Is that it?" Simmons mocked. " You fool. Had he disclosed the truth behind Raccoon City, the US would have lost all its authority, and the global political order would have collapsed."

" So in order to avoid one possible disaster, you created another? No matter how many people die?" Helena asked him, disgust present in her tone.

" He had to be stopped!" Simmons insisted. " He was leading my country and this world into complete chaos!"

Simmons grunted in pain, and steam was beginning to emanate from his back. Leon and Helena aimed their guns with more accuracy. Leon could only guess that Simmons had been injected with the C-Virus.

" That woman- how dare she do this to me?!" Simmons screamed, then transformed right before Leon's eyes. Simmons' body broke apart and mutated. Leon could only watch as Simmons became twice as large, and began turning into what looked like a dog. Leon looked at Helena, who was completely calm. He admired her bravery. He was going to make sure that her innocence could be proven. She was a good agent who deserved a better life than the one she had been dealt. Leon faced Simmons once again and prepared himself for the fight of his life.

---------------------------------------

Ada made it inside the carrier without much difficulty. There was only one guard, but she disposed of him quickly. She knew she did not have as much time as she would like, but that could not be helped. She had to find the other Ada and put an end to the C-Virus. She also had to avoid being spotted by the BSAA, especially if Cecile was not with them to tell them the difference.

Ada's heart ached as she thought about her daughter. It seemed like she was abandoning her once again, and it broke her heart. She had wanted to tell Cecile that she had to stay with her, but she saw how Cecile had mentioned the two men. Her eyes had grown cloudy, and her mind would not have been eased if she had not followed after them. She was very proud of Cecile. Ada hoped that Cecile could see that.

Ada found a small vent to crawl through and avoid being seen by the J'avo. She pushed through and began her small journey. She saw a light up ahead and hurried to reach it. However, it was not an exit. It was an open vent that allowed her to see the room it ran through. She did not complain, for she could see the BSAA fighting off the J'avo. What was more important was that it was Chris, and Cecile was with him. Though she was in a hurry, Ada watched her daughter as she fought the J'avo.

She was surprised to see that she fought like Leon, with a mix of her fighting style with it. If a J'avo came near and was about to attack, she would jump backwards and do a handspring, just like Leon would back in the day. If she could not jump backwards, she would dodge as if she was in the Matrix movie, then would swing back around and perform a roundhouse kick to the J'avo's head. At one point, she had to run up the side of the wall, and that's when Ada saw her own fighting skills come into play. Cecile would flip backwards, spin in the air, land perfectly on one knee, then would push off and grab the J'avo's neck and snap it. Her acrobatic skills impressed Ada, and pride swelled inside her. Cecile had been taught well, and Ada was thankful for it. Remembering her own task, Ada moved through the ventilation shaft and exited, giving one last look back before continuing her hunt.

She made it about twenty yards before she was stopped by a locked door that required three pass codes. She sighed heavily at the stupidity of this situation. Using the phone she had acquired from Ada Two, she pulled up the location of the lost key cards. They were scattered on the level she was on, each one farther from the first. She rounded the corner and walked ahead about twenty meters. To her right, she caught a glimpse of something shining by a dead body. She went to it without hesitation, and saw the first key card. She picked it up and looked at the location of the next one. She groaned as she realized that it was more than a football field length away. This was going to take a while.

---------------------------------------

" We have to hurry if we want to catch her," Chris ordered. Cecile and Piers nodded in agreement, tuckered out from the last fight. Chris was tired himself, but they had a mission to complete. Ada had to be stopped once and for all. He could not show weakness now, when it was the most crucial moment for him to be alert.

" Move out!"

The trio made their way through the ship. Chris took the lead, and carefully listened to Cecile and Piers's conversation. He was happy that they were getting along, even if it was a little too well. But, he could not argue. He wouldn't have Cecile choose any other man over Piers. He was good for her.

" What exactly did he tell you?" Piers whispered.

" He saw the whole thing," Cecile answered. " But I don't think he heard the conversation afterwards. He didn't mention it."

" He probably heard," Piers mumbled. Cecile nodded her head, then pressed closer to him. Chris looked back for a split second, and the two pulled away from each other. Chris turned back, and a smile formed. Yeah, he had heard the conversation, and he knew Cecile would not lie. There had to be another Ada on the loose, and not the original. Also, he knew now that he would not choose someone else for Cecile. Piers was the man she needed.

The loudspeaker above them have off a static sound before clearing up. Chris's body stiffened as Ada's voice echoed through the room.

" Can you feel it spreading through your body yet, Simmons?"she spoke, rage evident, but composed. " At first, you'll be afraid, but don't worry. You're just becoming the monster you always were. You and everyone else on this planet."

" What the hell did Simmons do to her?" Cecile wondered aloud. Chris could only shrug his shoulders and continued on his way. He spotted a hatch and opened it. Suddenly, he heard something he hadn't heard in years. Chris turned around and looked at Cecile. She was leaning against the wall and looking at the ground, but she could not hide her voice. She was singing, and it was beautiful. He did not know what the song was, but the way she sang it sounded like a million voices of angels at once. He almost cried as she sang. He looked at Piers, who had the same look in his eyes. Chris listened to the lyrics carefully, and allowed a few stray tears to fall down his face.

" Playground school bell rings again. Rain clouds come to play again. Has no one told you? She's not breathing. ' Hello. I'm your mind giving you someone to talk to.' ' Hello.' If I smile and don't believe, soon, I know, I'll wake from this dream. Don't try to fix me. I'm not broken. ' Hello. I'm the lie living for you so you can hide. Don't cry. Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping. ' Hello? I'm still here! All that's left of yesterday!'"

She finished, and Chris saw a stray tear fall down her cheek. He looked at Piers, who was also crying. Time had seemed to stop around them, but only for a moment. Cecile wiped away the tear, then looked at the two men. Her face bloomed bright red as she stared at their reactions, and she ducked her head once again. Piers walked up to her and hugged her. She wrapped her arms around him, and he leaned closer to her ear and whispered something. Chris could almost make out the words, but not quite. They pulled apart, and Cecile cleared her throat.

" Thought it might be a good idea to break the tension," she said. Chris nodded.

" I haven't heard a voice like that in three years, kiddo. It was beautiful. What's the name of the song?"

" Hello by Evanescence," she replied. " We should get going, though. Ada's far ahead of us now."

" Right," Chris agreed, then began walking through the hatch he had opened earlier. Cecile and Piers followed closely behind him, and their search continued. They spotted an elevator and entered at once. Chris hit the button, and they were on their way up.

---------------------------------------

Ada grabbed the final key card she needed to open the door. She was breathing heavily from wandering around for so long, and from having to kill weird gray J'avo that would put itself back together if it was not burned. She began heading back to the door, ready to finally be done with this ship.

She made it to the door, and it unlocked.

" Well, that was a pain in the ass," she mumbled, then continued on her way. The room she entered was dimly lit, making the room look yellow, and shadowy. Ada moved on confidently, and used her grappling hook when she saw an opening to another floor. Landing gracefully, she took in her surroundings before proceeding. There was nothing of interest for her, and she moved on.

" Can you feel it spreading through your body yet, Simmons?" a loudspeaker sounded.

" There's my evil twin," Ada said sarcastically, and stood still for a moment, listening to the other Ada rant.

" At first, you'll be afraid, but don't worry. You're just becoming the monster you always were. You and everyone else on this planet. You and your Family may have shaped the world into what it is today. But, starting tomorrow, it's all going to change."

" What the hell did Simmons do to you?" Ada questioned, sympathy lacing her words. This other Ada had to have endured such pain from Simmons just to want to destroy everything. It was almost admirable, if she wasn't trying to destroy the whole world.

Ada opened the door and stepped outside. She walked onto the deck and saw another door. She unlocked it and opened it wide. She paused for a moment. She could hear something growing closer to her. It sounded like metal rising. She looked to her right and saw a few circular lights blink. Only one would blink at a time, but would switch to another next to it, and it was going to the right. It was an elevator, and someone was coming.

The elevator stopped on the dock level, and the door opened. Inside was Chris, Cecile, and Piers. As much as Ada would have loved to stick around, she was on a mission. She moved through the door she opened and shut it behind her. She could hear Chris shout her name, but she locked the door, then slid under a closing door just before it slammed shut, separating the four once again. She stood, then continued on. The area she was in became almost like the interior of the submarine from a few days ago. She walked cautiously through the area, waiting for the J'avo to come out and attack her. Nothing did, and she made it into a small room formed into an office. There was a small desk with a briefcase resting on it. Ada approached the desk slowly, wondering what this small briefcase would contain. She lifted it up off the desk, rotating it in the air, looking for a way to open it. She set it back down and ran her hands along the side of the case. She heard a faint sound of a buzz, then a click. The briefcase had unlocked.

Ada opened the case and looked at the contents. There were two voice recorders, a file left unmarked, and a small statue of the Quad tower in Tatchi, China. She picked up the first voice recorder to the right of the statue and pressed play. The small speaker crackled before a voice emanated from the recorder.

" No, no, no! This is not right! That is not Ada Wong!" It was Simmons' voice, and he was fuming at something. " What are we doing wrong? Bind the subject's DNA with the cocoon biostructure. It should be working. Find me another subject! We cannot give up."

Ada opened the file and looked at the contents inside as she listened to Simmons' rant. There was a few pictures of a cocoon and scientists surrounding it. She spotted Simmons off to the side with a look of dissatisfaction at the results. Ada wanted to cringe at the work Simmons had created.

" Next round, we'll use Carla as a test subject. She's a close match. Just don't speak around her. I don't want her catching on."

Ada moved the photos away to reveal a woman in her late thirties smiling at the camera. Her hand was resting on someone's shoulder, but before Ada could move the photos away, the tape stopped. She swiftly picked up the second tape recorder and pressed play. Simmons' voice played once again, but it was filled with joy.

" Yes, yes, yes. Oh, you're perfect. I had lost you before, but now, I have you back. Happy birthday, Ada Wong."

Ada moved the last of the photos away from the woman, and saw that the woman's hand was resting on Simmons' shoulder. Ada read the discription.

Derrick Simmons and Carla Radames.

" Now I get it," Ada said aloud. It was at that moment that she heard a helicopter and the sound of a gun sounding off. She grabbed the statue and ran out the door and went to find the nearest exit.

---------------------------------------

Cecile, Chris and Piers ran up the stairs, hot on the second Ada's trail. Cecile could see the blue dress flowing as she ran from them, but this time, Cecile was not going to let her get away. She heard the sound of a door open and close, and she pinpointed the location quickly. She led the men up the final flight of stairs and saw the exit right in front of them. Wasting no time, she kicked in the door and was met with a rough breeze. In front of her stood Ada Two on the edge of the ship's ledge, four stories high from the deck.

" Ada, give it up!" Cecile shouted, aiming her sniper at the doppelganger. Ada snickered and faced the trio, a mischievous look on her face. Cecile's face turned bright red, livid with hatred for the woman who stole her mother's identity.

Ada turned her attention to Chris.

" Still haven't had enough, huh? Even after losing all your men—again? With your track record, I gotta say, I'd hate to be a member of your team, Chris."

" Don't listen to her, Chris," Piers warned him.

" But, where are my manners? I mean, I should be thanking your men for being such good test subjects."

She held up the dart gun she had used on Marco and aimed it at Chris. The man was faster, though, and shot a bullet at Ada. Cecile thought he had hit her, but quickly realized that the gun was no longer in her hand.

" Ever since Edonia, all I've wanted to see was you dead," Chris told her, standing straight up. " But, this isn't about vengeance- it's about justice. It's over, Ada." The trio lifted their guns, waiting for her to surrender.

" You're right, it is," Ada said, her voice level and clear. Cecile felt a sense of dread wash over her as fast as the words had left Ada's mouth.

" There's an aircraft carrier preparing to launch," Ada continued.

" Launch?" Chris asked.

"And the dead will flood the streets. Déjà vu, boys and girls—Raccoon City revisited. But this time, it won't just be one city. It'll be the whole world!"Ada revealed, grinning ear to ear in triumph. She then faced Cecile. She took a step towards her, only one, and Cecile tightened her grip on the gun.

" You were fun to play around with, by the way," Ada said.

" What do you mean?" Cecile questioned.

" You are the reason my creation is going to thrive," Ada claimed, still being vague. " Jake would've been an ideal subject, but you- you proved to be better. Your DNA was so much better, stronger. I can only thank Wesker for that."

" What the hell are you talking about?!" Cecile demanded.

" So impatient," Ada mused. " Your DNA created the one thing that will destroy this world and recreate it. Thanks to your mutation, you made my little creation a whole lot better. The best part of it all is that whatever happens to my creation happens to you as well."

There was the sound of a helicopter, and everyone looked up and shielded their eyes from the skylight. Cecile could see a man in a black tux aiming a gun at Ada. He shot off a round, then told someone in the front to move out. Cecile looked back at Ada. She was holding her arm over her abdomen, and Cecile watched as crimson red blossomed over the navy blue dress.

" You got me," Ada groaned. " But, you were too late. Nothing can stop it now."

Ada walked backwards and fell off the ledge. Cecile ran, but could not make it in time. When she made it to the ledge, she heard the thud before seeing the body sprawled on the ship's dock. Piers and Chris were by her side in an instant, looking at the result.

" What the hell?" Piers murmured, backing away from the ledge and running his hands through his hair. Cecile went to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. He put his hands down and calmed his breathing. Chris looked at Ada's body, and let her words sink in. He called HQ, and waited impatiently for them to pick up. He looked over, and saw Cecile and Piers looking at a briefcase. Piers looked at Chris, and held up a medium size needle. The liquid inside was red, but Chris knew what the content was.

" They must have strengthened the virus," Piers said, echoing Chris's thoughts. He nodded, then heard the crackle of the radio picking up a transmission.

" This is HQ. We are sending soldiers your way to come get you."

" Forget that!" Chris commanded. " There's a missile heading towards the shores. Everything else was just a distraction. You need to evacuate nearby cities."

Before HQ could give an answer, Chris cut off the transmission.

" What do we do with the this?" Piers asked, walking to Chris and holding the needle.

" Keep it, and get it back to HQ for analysis," Chris answered. Piers nodded and put the needle in a small inside pocket of his jacket.

" We have to get off this ship and stop the missile before it launches," Cecile spoke, interrupting Chris's thoughts. He nodded, and the trio headed back to the small jet planes they had seen earlier.

---------------------------------------

Ada watched as her doppelganger fell from the top ledge and hit the deck with a loud thud. She looked over the edge and saw Carla lying still on the pavement, blood flowing out of her chest. Ada walked to the edge of the balcony, and used her grappling hook to land safely on the deck next to Carla's body. Ada felt sympathy for Carla. This woman had not deserved to become what Simmons had created her to be. She had been forced to become someone she was not.

" Oh, Carla," Ada sighed. " Your hatred for Simmons drove you to tear down the world they created, but it was your conscience, Carla, that saw you fail. After all, isn't that why you brought me into this?"

Ada looked at Carla's peaceful face, and sighed once again.

"It's a shame. If you had only sought vengeance against Simmons alone, I would have helped you."

Carla's hand opened up, and Ada saw the needle fall. She backed away as Carla began coughing and rising once again, though her skin was turning into a gray glob of a mess. Carla turned to Ada and spit tons of gray liquid her way. Ada dodged each bit, and listened to the sizzle it produced when it touched the deck. Ada looked back at Carla and waited for her next move.

" Get over yourself. Help me?" Carla said through gritted teeth, her voice sounding almost robotic. " I'm the real Ada Wong. I don't need help from anyone. My plans aren't failing, they're thriving! And soon this frail shell of a society will collapse! After that, you know what will be left of this world?"

Carla looked at Ada and began laughing psychotically. Ada took a step back away from her, the sense of danger growing larger with each passing second.

"Nothing!" Carla continued. "Hell will rise and chaos will reign!"

Carla melted into the acidic blob and created a large puddle. Ada moved away from it, knowing it was unpredictable, and it could hurt her any minute.

"And I, Ada Wong, will be queen of the new world!" Carla's voice rang around Ada. She turned back and saw the gray ooze move towards her.

Ada turned and ran to the door behind her. Once she entered, she closed the door tightly and locked it. She looked outside, and saw the gray mass growing significantly larger. She felt pity rise in her throat, but she pushed it down.

" Hate to break it to you, but you're nothing but a cheap knockoff, at best," Ada told her. "Rest in peace, Carla."

Ada then turned around and began looking for a way off of the ship. She saw an open hatch and jumped down just in time. Carla's ooze broke through the door and was now following Ada. The ooze clumped together on the walls and grew as Ada pushed past it all. Part of the ooze turned into a hand and reached for Ada, but she moved away and went down another hallway, all while running. There was another locked door, and Ada groaned in frustration. She was getting really tired of locked doors in dire situations. She hoped that Cecile was doing better than her at this point.

The door unlocked quicker than Ada had imagined. Luck was on her side today. She moved through the door and swiftly closed it on the ooze making its way towards her. Ada turned, and saw that no ooze was present in the room. She had been given a break. She leaned against a pillar to catch her breath. After this, she knew she was going to need a long break away from all of this spy stuff. She would not be taking another job for a while.

After a minute, she looked around the room for any escape routes. She knew that with all of Carla's gray acidic ooze, the ship was not going to last much longer. She had to get out of here, now. She spotted another door across from her, and she went and opened it. Cautiously, she walked in, crossbow raised. She could see tiny bits of the ooze lining the walls, but no sign of Carla anywhere. Ada spotted an exit, and began running to it.

Big mistake. Carla had been waiting for that moment, and she blocked the door with her ooze, and her face formed inside the ooze, making Ada reel back in fright. Carla laughed at the sight of a scared Ada, mocking her. Ada aimed her crossbow and shot off one round into Carla's face. The ooze only swallowed the arrow, making it completely useless for Ada. That was when she saw the liquid nitrogen tank next to Carla. Ada quickly reloaded her crossbow, then dodged as Carla swung a giant fist her way. Rolling onto her feet, Ada took aim and fired at the tank. It burst open with ease, and Carla was sprayed with the liquid nitrogen. She screamed for a mere second before becoming completely encased in the nitrogen. Ada reloaded her crossbow and shot Carla's head. It completely shattered, revealing the door once again. Ada wasted no time in unlocking the door and moving on. She could see that the ooze was still present. She hurried along and made her way back to where she had seen a helicopter before. It was on the roof of the ship. She hurried through the rest of the bunker and made her way back up.

There were no more confrontations with Carla after that. It was an easy going trip for Ada. She made it to the roof of the ship and looked around. Sitting nice and polished was a small, two man helicopter. Ada theorized that Carla had planned to use it to escape after finishing her dirty work here. Ada got into the helicopter and began flipping switches, turning the chopper on. She buckled herself in and pulled the chopper up into the air and began heading to the quad tower.

Before the helicopter left the ship, Ada saw two jet planes fly away from the city and towards another ship that she had failed to notice. One of the jet planes had their radio turned on, and Ada could hear Chris talking to someone she did not recognize. Relief flooded through Ada as she heard Cecile's voice cut off the unknown person, then horror took over as she realized that Cecile was flying the other jet plane. Ada almost followed after them, then realized that Cecile was flying the plane as if this wasn't her first time.

" I guess I'll let them clean up Carla's mess," Ada said. She moved the helicopter towards Tatchi.

" I have some business to take care of."

---------------------------------------

" Alpha Team, there are artillery aircraft guns mounted around the missile. You need to take those out before you can land and take care of the missile," HQ told the trio.

" Copy that, HQ," Cecile responded, then looked around for the guns. She moved around the ship and avoided any small missiles that the J'avo were shooting at her. She spotted one of the guns and locked her sights on it. With a steady hand, she pushed the button on the wheel and watched as the small missile flew through the air and hit the target with a satisfying explosion. She then moved on to the next target. There were a total of six guns, with one down. She looked around for the next one, and spotted it quite easily. They were in plain sight, making the job almost boring. She locked onto the next target, then saw a missile out of the corner of her eye. She swerved the jet to the side, barely missing the missile. She switched to the gun on the jet and shot down another jet plane that a J'avo had used to attack. It fell and bursted into flames, landing on the ship and hitting the gun she had been aiming at previously. Both the plane and gun bursted and broke apart. Cecile stared at both in awe.

" Huh," she said. " That was easier than I thought it was going to be."

" Are you okay?" Piers asked her over the radio, panic in his voice.

" I'm fine," she answered. " But, please tell me you saw that awesome shot."

She heard the two of them laugh, and she went to find the next gun. She saw the next one on a small ledge over the water. Just as she took aim, another missile hit it first.

" That was mine!" she shouted. Piers burst into laughter and Chris moved the jet away from Cecile, and Cecile growled as she followed them. She was going to get the next one. She saw it, sitting on another ledge. She took aim and fired. Before her missile hit, another hit the gun. She heard Chris and Piers exchange a high five, and she pulled her plane to the other side of the ship. She located the fifth gun and shot it down. One left.

She found it the same time Piers did. At the same time, the missiles were shot and, in unison, the missiles made contact with the gun. The explosion was big and amazing, in Cecile's eyes. She shouted in triumphed, then made her way down to the ship, Chris right behind her. They landed, and Piers jumped out and began running to stop the missile from launching. Cecile got out and began shooting any J'avo making their way towards Piers. This mission would not be stopped by a bunch of pests. She began moving forward, looking for a lookout point to help Piers. She spotted a ladder and scaled it quickly, finding a spot narrow yet big enough for her to hide and snipe. She took aim and looked at the surroundings. It was like a maze, and she watched as Piers made his way through it effortlessly. She saw a J'avo running at him, and she fired. The J'avo fell and screamed in agony before turning into ash. Cecile pulled the hammer back and heard the sweet sound of the next bullet being placed in the chamber. She then took aim once again. She watched as an explosion went off, and saw Piers moving forward. Nothing followed him now, and she watched him work. He placed an explosive case next to a box car that blocked his path, then backed away when it was activated. The second box car had been destroyed, and Piers made his way over to the missile's control panel.

There was a large thud, and Cecile turned her attention to it. It was another B.O.W from Edonia, the one with the heart in its back. Cecile shot off a round into its heart, and it reeled back in pain. It gave Piers the little extra second he needed to shut down the missile launch. He jumped out of the box car containing the control panel just before the large B.O.W squashed it with its foot. Piers began running to where Chris was waiting for him. Cecile put her gun away and headed back to her jet plane, hoping it was not ruined.

She was lucky. The plane had been left untouched by anything, and she got in and closed the glass door. Switching it on, she pulled up on the wheel and was lifted into the air. She got away from the ship and followed Chris as he stayed near the B.O.W. She realized that, though it had been terminated, the missile was ready to launch. She took aim of the missile, locked her sights, and fired. Her missile flew towards the other, and missed.

" No," Cecile whispered. The contaminated missile was able to launch mere seconds before her missile had struck, and was on its way to Tatchi.

" Dammit!" Chris yelled. " We need to get the people evacuated!"

" Hello? Come in! This is FOS," a voice broke over the radio. " Is anyone there?"

" Hunnigan?" Cecile exclaimed.

" Cecile! I'm patching you to Leon. Wait one moment."

" Leon?" Cecile questioned.

" Hello?" Leon's voice came over the radio.

" Leon?" Chris took over the conversation. " Leon, where the hell are you?"

" Chris!" Leon exclaimed. " We're just outside of Tatchi. Why?"

" Get the hell out of there!" Chris shouted. Cecile felt the horror sweep over her, and she almost lost control of the plane. She got her wits back and took control of the conversation.

" Leon, are you there? Are you alright?"

" Yeah, but things just got bad. Real bad," he answered. Cecile could faintly hear the sounds of chaos in the background. There was screaming, groans, and people ordering each other to do something. Cecile felt sick. It was Raccoon City all over again, just like the other Ada had said.

" Listen, Chris," Leon spoke again. " I need you to rescue two hostages from an underwater facility. Agent Sherry Birkin, and Jake Muller. He's Wesker's son."

" Wesker?!" Chris asked incredulously.

" Chris, he's got antibodies for the C-Virus," Leon told him.

" Alright, we'll get them. You take care of Simmons."

" Will do, and thank you," Leon responded.

" Good luck," Chris told him before turning off the radio. Cecile waited for the awkward conversation that was inevitable.

" Wesker's son, huh?" Chris asked her. " How long have you known about this?"

" Since I woke up in the lab in China," she answered truthfully.

" What lab?" Piers asked. Cecile felt her face turn red. She had never actually told them about her imprisonment.

" Long story," she said. " Now, let's go finish the mission please, before I crash this plane out of awkwardness and embarrassment."

" Follow me," Chris said, and they were off once again, heading to the underground facility about fifty miles from their current location.
