Chapter 3
20:43, 23 February 2018June 29, 2013
Chris Redfield sat at the bar, swallowing down another shot of whiskey. He was drunk, but he couldn't stop drinking. It was an escape, though he didn't know what for. All he knew was that he wanted to get rid of this guilty feeling burning inside him. The only thing that seemed to numb the pain was the whiskey in his stomach. He looked at his glass, then slammed it down on the counter.
" Another round," he told the bartender, a Russian woman with brown hair and green eyes. She went to the other side of the bar and searched for a bottle. Next to Chris was a man with short brown hair, and chocolate brown eyes. He was well-built, with the right amount of muscle on him. He was cutting up a steak, and he took a bite of the piece on his fork. He tasted it, and was pleased with the result. It was cooked to medium rare, with the right amount of pink and juices that marinated the meat. It was also tender, like it should be. The man turned to Chris and spoke to him.
" Hard to find a good steak around here," he said. Chris turned to him and gave him a look of confusion.
" Not like back home," he finished.
Chris rolled his eyes and turned his attention to the bartender, who had found another bottle. Chris felt a little bit of his uneasiness slip away as the bartender took his glass and poured the whiskey. To his dismay, she only filled the shot glass halfway. He picked up the glass and studied it like it was a new species he had just discovered.
" Fill 'er up," he demanded.
" You've had enough," the bartender argued, still holding the bottle.
" Listen," Chris started, taking the bottle out of her hands. " You're here to pour drinks and look pretty, so how about you shut up?"
He filled his glass and set the bottle on the counter. The bartender was quicker than him. She grabbed the glass and flung the whiskey in his face in frustration.
" How about you get the hell out of my bar?" she told him. The bar grew instantly quiet. Chris looked around and saw that all eyes were on him, including the man sitting next to him. The man had a look of disappointment on his face. Chris grew angry. Who the hell was this guy to judge him?
Chris stood and grabbed the bottle off the counter.
" Got nowhere to go," he told her, then walked away from the counter to the back of the bar. A hand grabbed his shoulder, and a voice spoke to him in Russian. Chris couldn't understand him, and he shrugged the arm off and continued to the back. The hand grabbed him again, rougher this time and turned Chris to face him.
" I said it's time for you to leave," the man repeated in English. Chris grabbed the man's arm, twisted and slammed him against a nearby table. He took the bottle in his hand and went to strike him.
Another arm grabbed his, and Chris turned to see the man who had been sitting by him holding his arm with ease.
" Never thought I'd find Chris Redfield wasting away in a shithole like this," he said, all humor gone from his voice. Chris pulled his arm out of the man's grasp and sat down.
" Who the hell are you?" Chris asked him.
" Piers," the man answered, taking a seat across from him. " Piers Nivans?"
" Never heard of ya," Chris grumbled. Piers scoffed and pulled out a phone from his pocket.
" Okay, how about this?" Piers asked him, holding up the phone and showing Chris a picture. Chris studied it for a moment. The first thing he noticed was the fire that burned the buildings in the picture. The second thing he noticed was a green human shaped cocoon in the middle of it.
" What is this?" Chris asked Piers.
" You really don't remember anything, do you?" Piers sighed. Chris was about to make a remark when Piers continued.
" Bioterrorism."
" Bio-" Chris started, but was suddenly pulled into blackness. In the blackness, he saw a figure reaching out to him, calling to him. The image flashed before his eyes, and he was met with an excruciating migraine that made him double over in pain.
" You can't hide from your past forever, Chris," Piers said. " No matter where you go, no matter what you do, it will follow you."
" What is this?" Chris asked, now frightened by what was happening. " What the hell is going on?"
" Okay," Piers sat back, flipping through his phone, looking for something. " You don't remember me? Well, how about them?"
He flipped the phone around and showed it to Chris. Faces flashed on the screen, and Chris tried to look away.
" Look," Piers told him. Chris refused to look. His mind was flashing the same image over and over again, and it was hurting him.
" I said look!" Pier cried out, slamming his fist on the table and standing up, shoving the phone into Chris's face, forcing him to look. " These were your men. Good men who died under YOUR command. You owe it to them to remember them, Chris."
Chris looked at the faces as they flashed by, and one stood out. The guy from the flashing image, reaching out to him. Chris knocked Piers's hand away and reeled back, grabbing his head as the ringing in his ears began increasingly loud. He whimpered in agony and looked away from Piers, acting like a child.
" Shit," Piers mumbled. " Six months of searching for you, and THIS is what I find. What a goddamn waste."
Chris's head began to clear up, and he looked over at Piers, and noticed for the first time the patch on his jacket.
" BSAA?" Chris spoke. Piers looked at him and nodded.
" It's where you belong. Everyone's waiting."
" Everyone?"
Pier looked behind him and nodded his head. Everyone in the bar stood up and made their way over to the two men. Chris stared at them in disbelief, the looked back at Piers, who had a smug grin on his face.
" We're taking you back, Captain. One way or another."

June 30th, 2013
Jake Muller laid on a small hospital bed in a white room. He was shirtless and wore white pants, and he had a bored expression on his face. He touched the base of his neck where the latest injection had been placed. It still stung, and Jake winced at the pain.
A small door opened up, and three J'avo with masks walked in, guns aimed at him. Jake stood calmly and went with the obediently. Two led while the other placed itself behind Jake. They walked in silence for a minute, with Jake weighing his options. He saw a way to get out of here, but he knew he had to be quick.
He stopped walking. The J'avo behind him nudged him forward.
" Keep walking," the J'avo said in Chinese.
" Sorry, boys," Jake replied back in perfect Chinese. " This was fun while it lasted."
Jake fell back into the arms of the J'avo behind him and grabbed a hold of his gun. He fired at the other J'avos' guns, jamming them. He then turned to the J'avo behind him, kicked its legs out from under it, then snapped its neck in between his legs, maneuvering in an one hundred and eighty degree circle. Jake then turned to the other two, who were having trouble with unjamming their guns. Jake smiled and lunged at the J'avo.
--------------------------
Sherry Birkin woke up lying on a beige colored bed in a dimly lit room. It was the same sight that she had seen for the past six months since her and Jake had been captured. Her head began to throb gently as she sat up and stood. She stretched her arms up, hoping to get rid of some of the numbness in her joints. She walked around the small medical room, looking at the same heart monitor beeping at a constant rate. It irritated her to high hell, and she went and turned it off. The beeping ceased, and Sherry sighed in relief. Silence was what she needed right now.
The power went out. The door that kept Sherry prisoner unlocked and opened. She walked towards it, then ran and hid. A J'avo with a stun rod entered the room and searched for Sherry, looking everywhere it could. Finding nothing, the J'avo stood there confused. It began walking out of the room.
Sherry jumped down from the pillar she was hiding on and kicked the J'avo in the back, making it stumble. It caught its balance quickly and attacked. Sherry dodged and grabbed the J'avo's arm, trying to grab the weapon. The J'avo broke free and tried the same attack. She dodged again and this time, twisted the J'avo's arm, making it release the weapon. Sherry quickly picked up the weapon and faced the J'avo. It looked at her, and she charged the weapon.
There was a brilliant flash of light, and Sherry walked out of the room unharmed. She looked around, and saw the exit door. She went through it and began her search for Jake.
--------------------------------
Where am I? What is this place? What happened?
These were the thoughts flashing through Cecile's head as she awoke from her deep slumber. She opened her eyes to complete darkness, and she tried to sit up. She was met with resistance, and she realized that she was strapped down to a table. The metal on her back was icy cold, and Cecile realized that she was in nothing more than her undergarments. She closed her eyes and focused on her other senses. She could smell the bleach that sterilized the room she was in. She could feel the multiple needles digging into her arms as she flexed her muscles. She could taste something bitter and distasteful in her mouth, though she could not identify the taste. She could hear the beeping of the heart monitor beside her, but there was no light illuminating from it, which was unsettling to her. There should have been bright lights showing her heart rate, or some rays of light illuminating the room just a bit. Instead, there was only complete darkness.
" This sucks," Cecile said, her voice echoing loudly in the room. She pulled at the restraints again, then cried out in pain. One of the needles had dug deeper into her skin, going through her vein. She stopped her struggle and laid there, contemplating her next move. She tried to move her wrists, but they too were strapped down. Someone had made sure that she wasn't going to escape.
Cecile was suddenly blinded by a brilliant white light flooding the room. She opened her eyes very slowly, adjusting to the change. When she could see again, she was greeted by three J'avos surrounding her. They checked her needles and nodded in approval. They checked the restraints and were satisfied to see that they were still tightly kept.
" Where am I?" she asked them. " How long have I been here?"
" You have finally awoken," a female voice spoke over an intercom. Cecile recognized the voice all too well. Ada.
" How long have I been here?" Cecile asked again.
" Six months, you have been asleep," Ada responded. Cecile's heart skipped a beat. This situation was too familiar, but her mind would not provide the answer she desperately seeked. She tried to recall any instance where she had been held captive like this. When? When?
" I see the confusion on your face," Ada continued. " Don't worry. Everything will be cleared up soon enough."
" Why is this familiar?" Cecile mumbled to herself, not paying attention to Ada or the J'avo. She concentrated on the topic, then thought about when this could have possibly happened.
The missing time lapse.
Cecile's mind flashed an image for a second, but it was enough for her. The image was of faces all around her, all doctors surrounding her, wearing masks and holding medical instruments. Cecile could feel the memory slipping back into the abyss of her mind. She coaxed it forward gently, hoping it would come to her. It didn't, and she growled in frustration. The J'avo closest to her head jumped back, then continued his work hesitantly.
Wait.
It was afraid of her. Cecile looked at the other J'avo, and they reacted the same way to a lesser degree. They flinched as she looked at them.
" Why are they afraid of me?" Cecile asked Ada.
" Don't you know your parentage?" Ada asked her.
" No," she answered honestly. " I don't know if what you told me about Wesker is true or not, and I never really got to know my mother. Of course, you should know this if you had your eyes on me."
" Actually, you were a small surprise bonus to the main course," Ada responded lazily. " My target had been the boy Jake Muller, but-"
" Jake is here?!" Cecile interrupted.
" Yes, but he won't be for long. I have what I need," Ada answered.
" Don't you dare touch him!" Cecile demanded, and Ada laughed over the intercom.
" What can you do about it?" Ada mocked, then laughed once again.
An overwhelming emotion filled Cecile like water filling a glass. It was a mix of anger and disgust, but multiplied by a hundred. Cecile identified it after a moment, and it shocked her that she had never felt this way about someone before, but this emotion was now directed at Ada.
It was hatred. Deep, burning red that flowed through her like a raging river. Her sight was even filled with red, and she pulled once again at the restraints. This time, they broke, giving her the ability to move once again. She pulled the needles out of her arms and sighed at the relief she felt. The J'avo quickly pulled out their guns, but they were not quick enough. With lightning speed, Cecile moved to the closest J'avo and took his gun. She put the barrel to his head and pulled the trigger. She then turned and moved to the next one. She snapped its neck, then moved to the final J'avo. It shot off a round, and Cecile barely moved at all it seemed. She dodged the bullet with the greatest of ease, then moved and grabbed the J'avo's throat, lifting it off the ground. It dropped its gun and clawed desperately at Cecile's hand. She only smirked at it before crushing its windpipe, dropped it, then roundhouse kicked its head cleanly off its body. Sirens were blaring, and more J'avo came through a small door to the left of Cecile. All she did was laugh before she lunged at the horde, killing all of them without mercy and without remorse.
A few moments later, Cecile stepped out of the room and entered a hallway, drenched in blood. The hatred inside her still burned bright, and she went to look for more J'avo to take it out on. She had to make sure Jake was okay. If anything had happened to him, there would be Hell for Ada to pay, and Cecile would make sure of that.
She touched her neck, and was surprised to feel the pendant still there. She had assumed that Ada would've taken it away from her, being the person she was. With a small amount of relief in her body, she went to start her journey, then realized something.
She was going to need some clothes first.
-----------------------------------
Jake and Sherry had reunited and were now walking cautiously through the facility they were in. The decor of the place almost made it seem like a mansion more than a medical facility. Sherry took the lead, while Jake checked behind them periodically, making sure no one was sneaking up on them.
Jake let his thoughts return to the conversation he had with Sherry when they had reunited. They had found their clothes and weapons, to both of their delight. They had changed and exchanged their experiences of the past six months. Both had been experimented on, as was evident by the needle marks in their arms and legs. Jake had pondered about asking the question, but curiosity got the best of him.
" Do you know anything about an Albert Wesker?"
Sherry had paused at the sudden question, shocked.
" What?" she asked dumbly.
" I'll take that as a yes," Jake said, slamming the locker door shut. He sat down on the bench next to him, putting on his boots.
" All these years," he said. " I had always believed that dear old dad was just a nobody who had skipped out on us. But no. Oh no. Instead, he was a madman who tried to destroy the world! At least now, some things make more sense about myself."
" Your father has nothing to do with the person you are," Sherry had tried to reassure him, but she was cut off.
" He has EVERYTHING to do with the person I am! The actions I take, the way I treat people, my thirst for more... It all makes more sense."
He looked up and had seen Sherry staring at him with an irritated look on her face.
" What?"
" You can blame your father all you want," she told him. " But, sooner or later, you have to start taking responsibility for your OWN actions."
She had grabbed the rest of her stuff and walked by him, shouldering him as she went by. Jake had stood there for a second processing her words. In irritation, he hit the locker once again, then followed her out of the room.
His attention was brought back to the present when the body of a J'avo flew across the room and hit the wall in front of the two. Jake aimed his gun, but froze when a figure suddenly appeared next to the body. The figure had a knife in their hand, and sliced at the J'avo's head. It was a clean cut, and the head rolled off the body and stopped in front of Sherry, then burst into flames. Jake and Sherry aimed their guns at the figure just as the figure turned and looked at them. The sight made Jake's heart drop into his stomach. It was a girl with black raven hair, tall and fit and covered in blood. That's not what he was afraid of. It was her eyes. They were deep insidious red, and the pupils were in slits, like a cat. He kept his gun aimed, in case she tried to attack. He did not want to be the one to end her, but he would if he absolutely had to.
That was not the case. As soon as she saw the two, her eyes returned to the sapphire blue that Jake was use to seeing. He lowered his gun and ran to her. She looked dazed, as if she had been in a trance. Jake did not care. He grabbed her and hugged her tightly, his face becoming wet with silent tears.
" Jake?" Cecile whispered, and Jake nodded against her neck. She sighed and hugged him back, the relief evident. Jake heard Sherry lower her gun and walk over to them, wanting answers no doubt. Jake released Cecile and looked at her, then reeled back in horror. She was incredibly thin and pale, and there were many needle marks on her arms and neck. Her eyes had become sunken into her sockets, and her cheekbones were very prominent, making her look like a walking skeleton.
" What the hell did they do to you?" he asked her.
" I don't know," she told him. " I only just woke up about ten minutes ago, and I've been here for six months, according to Ada."
" Who?" Sherry asked, speaking for the first time.
" The woman behind Neo-Umbrella," Cecile answered. " The one behind the C-Virus attacks in Edonia."
" Jesus," Jake sighed, putting a hand to his forehead. Sherry stood there expressionless to the news.
" We need to contact my supervisor as soon as possible," Sherry stated, taking charge of the situation. " After that, we need to get out of here. Then, we need to get Cecile something to eat."
" Why?" Cecile asked her.
" Have you looked in a mirror recently? You've gotten extremely thin. Dangerously thin," Sherry told her.
" Oh," was all Cecile said. Jake nodded, then took the lead. He went up the stairs, and was met with ash covering the floor. He looked at Cecile, who only shrugged her shoulders.
" I don't know how I did any of this," she replied, and Jake nodded, then continued. In silence, they searched the facility for any exit. Soon, they came into a large room with a massive gold Buddha statue in the middle. They found a way down and searched the floor. Jake saw something glisten out of the corner of his eye, and turned to look at it. It was a small hexagon-shaped medal with black and white stripes on the outside, and a small gold lotus flower in the middle. Jake looked it over for a moment, then looked up. Cecile was holding a few of the medals in her hand, and she looked at Jake. Together, they searched for anything that used the medals. It could be their ticket out.
They stopped in front of the Buddha statue and looked. There was a slot on the base of the statue, and Jake put the medal into the slot. The medal slid in perfectly and smoothly, and a number counter spun to the number one. Cecile put in her medals, a total of three in her hands. After she had put only two in, the head of Buddha turned to the West, and another statue moved forward, revealing a door. Sherry made her way over to them as Cecile placed her last medal in the slot. Jake looked at the base and saw words inscribed into the base.
" Three to the West. Ten to the East."
" We need six more to get into that door over there," Cecile pointed to the right of them. Sure enough, there was a door with a giant medal painted on.
" Then let's go find some medals," Sherry said. Jake and Cecile agreed, and the trio made their way up the stairs, hunting for the six medals.
-------------------------------------
Piers Nivans sighed as he walked beside Chris. After the incident at the Ace of Spades Hotel, Chris had regained his memory of what had happened in Edonia, but was now driven by revenge. Piers was the one who had to tell him that Cecile had died in order to save them, and he watched as Chris had broken down in tears and cried, the agony of losing his child a second time clear in the anguish cries. Piers had cried too, but back when Chris had been in the hospital recovering. Though he hated to admit it, he had liked Cecile. He had liked the way she carried herself in and out of battle, he had liked her bubbly personality, and above all, he had loved her view of the world. He loved the way she talked about the world, showing him a different side of it; the side he had refused to believe existed. She had shown him that not every mercenary was greedy and evil. She had proven that everyone could do good. Because of this, she had given up her life to protect two strangers she barely knew.
Piers had cried, but now, he was focused on the mission- finding Ada Wong and bringing her to justice. However, there was one tiny problem. Chris was thirsty for blood- Ada's blood. He kept this in mind as he, Chris and new members of the Alpha Team made their way through the leftover wreckage of the Ace of Spades. Chris had made a call into HQ, asking for the coordinates of Ada. When Chris moved forward, his men followed him without objection as they always did.
One soldier, Keith, screamed, and the team faced him, their guns ready. Keith was in the air, in the jaws of a snake-like B.O.W. The creature didn't stick around to be shot at. It took off, Keith still in its mouth screaming for someone to help him.
" After that B.O.W!" Chris commanded, and Alpha Team moved out, following an enemy they could hardly see. They ran to a red gate next to a playground, and Piers saw the blood trail leading to a building across the street. Chris ran to the building, not searching the area thoroughly. Piers was becoming concerned for his mental state, but did not say it aloud. Instead, he followed Chris, scoping out the area for him. Nothing attacked them, and they made their way up a ladder to the top of the building. Nothing refused them entrance onto the roof, which was odd. Suspicious, Piers kept his eyes peeled for anything unusual.
They reached a balcony area and looked around. Piers heard footsteps from below and aimed his MP-AF at the ground below. Two figures emerged from another building and looked around. Piers recognized the pair- Jake and Sherry.
" They're alive!" Piers told Chris. " They went missing six months ago after their plane crashed in the mountains."
J'avo suddenly appeared from other buildings. They were really good at doing that- suddenly popping out of places like they were randomly spawning enemies in a video game. They were moving in on Jake and Sherry, guns at the ready.
" Captain, we have to help them!" Piers exclaimed. Chris nodded.
" Alright, men. Make sure those two are kept safe. Shoot all J'avos."
A chorus of " Yes, sir!" rang loud and clear, and the team spread out and began exterminating the J'avo. These J'avo were different, however. When they mutated, their legs became like grasshopper legs, and it made it harder for the BSAA to take them out. They managed, and soon, only one was left. Piers watched as Sherry went to make the final blow to the head.
Something beat her to it. A figure flashed in front of the J'avo and sliced its head off with a hunting knife, then disappeared as quickly as it had come. The J'avo was already burning up, and soon its ashes were casted away by the wind. Piers searched for the mysterious figure, but to no avail. He turned to Chris, who was looking at the spot where the figure had been.
" Only Wesker was able to move like that," he whispered in shock. Piers couldn't understand the horror Chris was feeling. Wesker was dead. That much he knew. So, why was Chris acting concerned?
He heard it before he saw it. Footsteps approaching quickly. Piers turned, aiming his gun, and he was greeted with a knife to his throat. He looked at the person in front of him. It was too dark to see the gender, but he could see the eyes. Deep insidious red. He was about to pull the trigger when the eye color changed to sapphire blue. Piers lowered his gun as the figure lowered the knife.
" You're alive?" Piers asked her. The figure stepped into the light, and Piers stared at Cecile. She looked awful, and like a skeleton. She nodded to Piers, who was already in motion. He grabbed her and pulled her into a hug, overwhelming happiness flooding through his veins.
" How many people are going to hug me today?" she asked. " Geez, you're killing me."
" Sorry," Piers said, releasing her. He heard Chris walk over and gasp. He was pushed out of the way, and Chris had Cecile in his arms, crying again. Cecile was telling him to put her down, but Chris wouldn't let go. Cecile groaned in surrender, going limp in Chris's arms. Piers stared at her. Though she was thinner, she still held the same beauty that captivated him when they first met. He smiled a gentle smile, then quickly looked away as her gaze met his. He cleared his throat and looked over the quiet battlefield. He saw Jake and Sherry making their way up to the rooftops of the building across from them.
" Captain, we should go after them," Piers said. Chris had finally put Cecile down and was now facing Piers.
" Our mission is to stop bioterrorism. They'll be fine on their own."
" But if Neo-Umbrella is after them, then we need to protect them!" Piers insisted. Chris shook his head.
" We put the mission first," Chris stated. He began to walk away, then realized that Cecile was not following. Chris turned and looked at her. She was looking at the place where Jake and Sherry had been, confliction in her eyes. Piers knew what she was going to choose, but something inside him wanted him to stop her. He pushed it aside and walked up to her. Cecile looked up at him, and his heart fluttered. Her eyes held questioning as she looked at him. She was waiting for approval.
" Go," Piers told her. " They need you. Especially with that super speed you seemed to have acquired."
" What the hell are you saying, Piers?" Chris interrupted. " She's coming with us. End of discussion."
" Thank you," Cecile whispered. She then turned and jumped down onto the battlefield. Chris reached for her and screamed, but her mind had been made up. Piers saw many emotions flip through Chris's eyes, but one stood out more than the others.
Betrayal.
" What have you done?" Chris asked him in a whisper. Piers took a step back. He was suddenly afraid of the man he use to be able to trust without question. Chris faced him and advanced slowly, intimidatingly. Piers felt a sudden rush of anger, and he stopped and faced Chris, matching his expression. They were now face to face, staring each other down, neither letting up. A thought struck Piers, and the one thing he said held all the irony of Chris's earlier words and actions.
" We put the mission first," Piers said. He saw Chris's anger increase dramatically.
" Jake is not my daughter," Chris countered. He backed up and walked forward, shouldering Piers aside. Piers growled in anger, then followed Chris. They still had a mission to complete after all.
----------------------------------
Cecile had caught up with Jake and Sherry fairly easily. They welcomed her company warmly, hugging her as she joined them. They continued their journey to the rendezvous point where Sherry was suppose to meet her supervisor, who was still unknown. Cecile had a weird uneasy feeling follow her as they neared their destination, though she couldn't place it. She began to think about the memory she had back in the room at the facility. She had been in that scenario before, but why couldn't she remember how she had gotten there?
A sudden thought hit her out of nowhere. Ada had mentioned that her brother had been captured and had been Ada's target all along. So, that meant....
" You're my real brother," Cecile mumbled. Jake looked back at her, confused. So did Sherry. Cecile looked at them both and repeated her statement.
" You're my real brother."
" What do you mean?" Sherry asked, fake confusion in her voice.
" Jake and I have the same father, don't we?" It wasn't a question. Sherry opened her mouth, then closed it again and looked away. Cecile walked up to and grabbed the front of her shirt.
" Why didn't you tell us when you first saw us?" Cecile demanded. Sherry tried to pull away, but Cecile held fast. Though she was thin from the lack of nutrients, Cecile could keep a grip, that was for sure. Sherry lowered her head and answered.
" I knew that Wesker had a son, but I didn't know that he also had a daughter until you were about thirteen. Claire told me that as soon as you turned thirteen, you showed physical characteristics similar to Wesker's, and Chris was afraid that you would search for you real father. He didn't want that, so he taught you self-defense just in case Wesker ever came for you. She said that you seemed happy and content, until-"
Sherry was cut off the sound of a plane overhead. The group looked up and saw an airplane fly too closely to the ground. They saw the logo on the side of the plane.
" It's American!" Sherry exclaimed, then ran in the direction of the plane. Jake and Cecile ran side by side, stride for stride like they use to do. It made more sense now to them, why they acted the way they did around one another. They hurried to try and catch up with Sherry.
The plane had crashed, and the trio looked for any survivors. They suddenly heard voices. They turned to the left, and there were two people, a man and a woman. The man was tall, with blonde hair and gray blue eyes. Though he just got out of a plane crash, his hair hadn't seemed to be disturbed in any way. He was wearing a leather jacket over a black t-shirt, and he had on dark denim jeans. The woman beside him was a tall brunette with matching eyes to her hair. She wore a white blouse with a brown leather vest and black jeans, which showed off her lithe figure. Cecile had a fleeting moment of jealousy. She pushed it aside as Sherry made her way over to the pair.
" Leon?" Sherry called out. The man turned towards her voice, and he walked over to the group, the woman trailing after him.
" Sherry, what are you doing here?" Leon asked.
" I'm on protective detail."
Leon looked at the two following Sherry with suspicion, but did not voice the concern aloud.
" Yeah, I heard you became an agent."
" What are you doing here, Leon?"
" We're going to find the man behind all the attacks- National Security Advisor Derrick Simmons."
" What? There has to be some sort of mistake. I report to Simmons!"
" He's your supervisor?" Leon asked in disbelief.
" We're on our way to meet with him right now," Sherry answered.
" Where is he?"
Sherry looked at Leon, then looked away. Leon took a step towards Sherry, reaching for her.
" We need to know-" Leon started, but was stopped by Jake, who put himself in front of Sherry and knocked Leon's hand away.
" Back off, pal," Jake growled. The woman put her hand on her gun, as did Cecile. They stared at each other, waiting for one of them to make the first move. Sherry was now in the middle of the men, separating them from starting a brawl.
" Let me handle this," she said. Jake pulled her aside and whispered something Cecile couldn't hear. She focused her attention on the two in front of her.
" Mind if I ask for your name?" Leon spoke to her. She shook her head and lowered her hand away from her gun. The woman did the same and Cecile relaxed a little. The woman was like her- cautious.
" The name's Cecile Redfield. My assumption is that you are Leon Kennedy from Raccoon City. Am I right?"
" Yes," Leon answered. " This is my partner, Helena Harper."
" Nice to meet you," Helena spoke, walking up to Cecile and holding out her hand. Cecile took it and shook it. Helena smiled at her, and Cecile returned it with one of her own.
" Wait," Leon added. " Did you say Redfield?"
" Yep," Cecile answered. " Apparently, I'm Chris Redfield's daughter, though I have no memories about my childhood for some strange reason. Does that answer your question?"
" Actually," he began. " I think I know you personally. I believe I was your teacher for your training."
" My training?" Cecile asked.
" Yeah, I believe Chris had me train you in combat skills when you turned ten. Does that sound familiar?"
" Sorry, but no," Cecile told him. " I remember that Chris use to train me, but I only have a tiny bit of that memory. Sorry that I don't remember you in any way."
" It's alright," he said, then turned his attention to Jake and Sherry, who were coming back to them. Whatever they had been arguing about had been resolved. Helena looked up, and horror flooded her expression.
" Look out!" she screamed to Sherry. Sherry turned to see a plane turbine heading towards her. Leon reached for her, but Jake was already there pulling her to the ground. Cecile ducked and slid forward, and Leon and Helena fell backwards, barely missing the turbine with their heads. It crashed into the cell tower behind them, bursting into flames. Everything seemed to be doing that these days. They all stood up and looked around, trying to find the source of the throw.
" The plane!" Helena cried, and all eyes went to the plane. Standing on top of it was a monstrous B.O.W, though not as big as what Danny has mutated into. This B.O.W acted more human, more like a hunter. The monster was gray skinned, had gray blonde hair, and one eye that was red. It had one large left arm that was normal, but his other arm was gone. In its place was a metal contraption with three long hooks, making it look like claws. All guns were drawn and aimed at the monstrosity.
" This guy again?!" Jake grumbled, irritation settling in his body.
" Friend of yours?" Leon asked him sarcastically.
" More like an ex girlfriend. Guy doesn't know when to quit."
" Welcome to the club," Leon responded. The B.O.W leaped off the plane and landed ten yards away from the group. Guns were aimed higher as the creature slowly advanced.
" You get use to it," Leon finished. Jake glanced over at him and chuckled. He appreciated a person with a sense of humor in dire situations. Jake looked around and realized that Cecile had disappeared. He looked around, but couldn't find her. Panic set in, but Jake had a more pressing matter to attend to. The one and only Ustanak.
The Ustanak charged, and everyone scattered, hoping to confuse it. Its sight was locked solely on Jake, however, and it advanced on him. Jake shot off a few rounds before dodging out of the way of the Ustanak's claw. He got back on his feet and ran away and jumped onto a small ledge area. Jake saw the propane tanks in small wooden crates, and he pushed one of them down. The crate broke and the tanks scattered. He jumped off the ledge and stood behind the tanks. The Ustanak saw him and rushed towards him. Jake slowly backed up and aimed at the tanks. When the Ustanak was on top of them, Jake fired a bullet at the trap.
It worked. The propane exploded and stopped the Ustanak in its tracks. Jake then ran away and tried to stay out of view to the best of his abilities. He looked around, but there was still no sign of Cecile anywhere. Jake's panic increased as he desperately looked around, hoping to see her familiar raven black hair flying around as she fought, but he couldn't see it. There was no sign of her, and that was dangerous.
" Sherry!" Jake called out.
" What?"
" Where's Cecile?"
" She's not with you?!"
" No!"
" We've got to find her before he does," Sherry said. Jake nodded, then began his search for his sister.
----------------------------------
Burning red light. That's all Cecile saw as she opened her eyes. The intense heat hit her like a rock, and she gasped for air. All she got was hot air, and she choked on it. She realized that she was pinned down by a large piece of metal. She pushed with all her might, and the metal slid off after a few seconds. She gasped for air, and was relieved when clean air flooded into her system. She stood up and looked at her surroundings.
She was in a volcano. Cecile tried to remember how she got there, but nothing helped. Nothing showed up in her mind to help her. Finally, she gave up and walked around, hoping to find a way out. She stepped over metal debris, and realized that it was an airplane. She looked around for the source, but couldn't see it. She walked farther up a narrow path, getting to higher ground. When she stopped, she was halfway out of the volcano. She turned and scanned the area. She found the plane, but she also found something else.
There were two people fighting a B.O.W, but the B.O.W was human like, except for the black tentacles sticking out of his back. Cecile focused on the other two. It was a white man and an African woman. Cecile recognized Chris, though he was a bit younger, but still had the bulging muscles and the same haircut. The woman Cecile didn't know. Her skin was a creamy chocolate brown, and her hair was raven black dreadlocks pulled back in a ponytail. She was in a halter tank top and khaki pants, with colorful beads on her wrist. She was using a sniper rifle to shoot the mutated man, and her shots were dead on. The B.O.W's head bounced backwards, but he did not die. Instead, he laughed at their efforts.
" You'll never beat me like this," the man said. His voice was so familiar to Cecile. She crept closer, hoping to stay out of sight. The man whipped one of his tentacles towards Chris and the woman, but they moved out of the way swiftly, the tentacle missing by inches. The two got back up and began shooting once again. Cecile moved closer to the battle, a sudden thrill taking over. She felt excited to see some action, but she couldn't understand why she wanted to see war. She moved closer, remaining out of sight.
One of the tentacles hit Chris and pinned him to the ground. Another shoved the woman far away from Chris, knocking her unconscious. The thrill left Cecile's body as she watched the man approach Chris. The man was grinning wickedly as he looked at how helpless Chris was. Cecile moved forward until she was in the open and behind the man. He hadn't noticed her yet, so she was in the clear. She searched her pockets and found her hunting knife. She quickly armed herself and continued forward.
" How does it feel to be so powerless, Chris?" the man gloated. Chris struggled to be released, but his efforts were fruitless.
" I won't let you win, Wesker," Chris promised through gritted teeth.
So this was Albert Wesker. Cecile wished she could see his face, but she did not have that luxury. Slowly, she crept behind the maniac.
A tentacle rose into the air and struck the ground in front of Cecile. She jumped back, then quickly rolled and landed on her feet as another tried to attack from the other side. Wesker turned around and looked at his sneaky attacker. His eyes widened as they landed on Cecile. His jaw hung open slightly, and the tentacles closest to her retracted. The one holding Chris remained as Wesker made his way to Cecile. She backed away from him, but was blocked by a boulder. In a few strides, Wesker was standing right in front of her. He looked over her slowly, drinking every little detail. Cecile stared at him in the eyes, and it was difficult. They were red and orange like the lava in this volcano, and the pupils were slit like a feline's.
" Chris," Wesker spoke calmly. " You've been holding out on me."
" Leave her alone!" Chris shouted at Wesker. He then began coughing as Wesker applied pressure to Chris's chest with the tentacle. His unwavering eyes held Cecile's, not looking away. Cecile's mind raced as she tried to figure out a way to escape from this man's grasp.
" I've found you at last, child," Wesker spoke to her. She clawed at his hand frantically, hoping the pain would cause him to release his grip.
" Where have you been?"
" Let me go," Cecile groaned. The pain was becoming unbearable.
" Now, why would I want to do that?"
Wesker's head bounced to the side as a bullet struck him, causing him to drop Cecile. It gave Cecile an opening, and she ran straight to Chris. Knife in hand, she sliced the tentacle, which came cleanly off. She heard Wesker scream in pain, and suddenly he was in front of her once again. He grabbed her by the throat and lifted her off the ground. Chris reached for her, but Wesker was too fast. He was ten yards farther from Chris now, Cecile still being choked.
" That wasn't very nice," Wesker scoffed and squeezed tighter. Cecile clawed at his hand desperately, tears streaming down her face. Her lungs burned from the lack of oxygen, and she could feel herself slipping away into the darkness. She saw him smile at her, a mocking smile.
Anger filled her, and she saw red. Wesker was no longer smiling. He squeezed harder, but that no longer had an effect. She grabbed his wrist and twisted it. He released her, grabbing his wrist. Cecile bent down and lunged at him. She was filled with anger that was all directed at this thing. She was angry that he tried to kill her family. She was angry that he had abandoned her and her mother when she was so young. She was angry at him for trying to destroy the lives of many innocents. She landed a hard kick to his jaw, sending him sprawling onto the ground. He got up and counterattacked, but they were evenly matched. Cecile used her knife to slice the black tentacles away from her as they reared to attack her. Wesker would land punches here and there, but neither could make the other stay on the ground longer than three seconds. Chris and the woman were on their feet, shooting bullets at Wesker, but most of them missed. A lucky few would hit their target at times when Cecile needed them the most.
A final clash of fists sent the two flying backwards and landing on their backs. Cecile quickly got up, waiting for Wesker to attack again. That wasn't the case. Wesker was facing her with Chris once again on the ground. Fear and panic took over and shoved away the anger as she watched the events unfold in front of her. Wesker raised a tentacle and slammed it into Chris's abdomen, making him cry out. Cecile stared at the tentacle as it raised up and went to strike again.
Time slowed down for her as she began running to Chris. Wesker smiled again and went to strike. Chris closed his eyes, accepting his fate. The woman aimed her rifle at Wesker, but the bullet would not make it in time. Cecile ran faster, and she caught a few flashes of imagery. She did not think about it. She had a goal in mind, and she was going to do it. All she had to do was make it in time.
She did, and the tentacle descended upon Chris. It was not Chris that was struck by it, however. He opened his eyes and saw that the tentacle had pierced Cecile's heart. She looked back at Chris, the one person she trusted more than anything, and smiled. She then looked back at Wesker and threw her knife into his head. He reeled back, taking his tentacle with him, and Cecile fell forward and let the darkness consume her happily.
--------------------------------------
" Cecile!"
Cecile could hear someone calling to her, but she couldn't find the name. It was male, that much she knew. However, the voice was muffled, like she was under water.
" CECILE!"
Something hit her, and she felt the sting of the slap. She sat up quickly and covered her cheek, moaning in pain. Arms wrapped around her, cutting off her airway. She slapped at the person, and they released her instantly. She looked up and saw Piers looking at her. Relief flooded his expression as he looked her over, checking her for injuries. Satisfied, he knelt in front of her and looked at her.
" How did I get here?" she asked him.
" I don't know how, but we found you in one of the buildings on the roof. You were just standing there, unmoving. Chris touched your shoulder, and you collapsed without a sound. He and the others went to scout ahead for your safety. We had to be cautious. Honestly, we're just really glad that-"
He was cut off as Cecile moved forward and hugged him, holding onto him. Piers sat there stunned, then hugged her back gently. He felt something warm and wet drip onto his neck, and he realized that she was crying.
" What's wrong?"
" I risked my life to save Chris," she whispered. " I followed him to Africa and fought Albert Wesker. I moved in front of Chris as Wesker was about to kill him. I sacrificed myself to let him live. How can I forget something like that?!"
Piers had no answer. The only thing he could be happy about was that she was regaining her memories. However, she made an excellent point. There was something else going on, something- or someone- had messed with her memories. Piers vowed that he would help her regain her all of her memories, no matter the cost.
He felt her pull away, and he let her go. He watched as she wiped away her tears with her finger, trying to collect herself. There was still one tear that right beneath her eye that she missed completely.
It was his undoing. He reached forward and cupped her cheek in his hand and used his thumb gently to wipe away the stray tear. He felt her body tense, and he quickly pulled his hand away, his heart pounding away in his chest.
" You're awake," Chris said, walking towards them. Piers stood and faced Chris, hoping that the burning in his cheeks was not as evident as it felt.
" Cecile seems to be remembering her past," Piers reported. " She remembers fighting Wesker and losing her life in the process."
" That's great!" Chris exclaimed, looking at Cecile. She stood slowly, not trusting her legs completely. She then looked at Chris, who was grinning from ear to ear. She smiled back, and said two words that melted Chris's heart.
" Hey, Dad."

3 Days Before the Ustanak Fight....
The ocean is one of the most mysterious places on Earth to humans. No one truly knows what the bottom of it looks like, and what creatures lurk underneath. It didn't stop people from creating boats that could go underwater and explore as much as they could. Submarines have been one of humanity's best creations in history. Though submarines can be used for locating certain types of water species, the submarine owned by Neo-Umbrella was used as a military base located in the Northern Atlantic.
Moving towards the submarine was a robotic suit in the shape of an astronaut. A small port opened and allowed the suit access inside the submarine. The suit was taken into a small area, and the room drained all the water out. Once the water was gone, the suit opened up and revealed a naked woman inside. She opened her mouth and gulped in fresh air. After a moment, she stepped out of the pod and grabbed her clothes from inside. She put them on, then grabbed her weapons- a crossbow and a handgun. She wore a red blouse that was unbuttoned enough to show the top of her breasts, and she wore black leather pants that hugged her figure. Her hair was black and in a pixie cut, and she had velvet, chocolate gold eyes that melted the insides of all that gazed upon them. She looked around the submarine in admiration. Though it was a ship, Derrick Simmons had done a fairly well job at maintaining the beast, in Ada Wong's opinion.
Ada began her journey down a small corridor in front of her. She could hear someone up ahead, and she pressed her back against the wall and slid forward slowly. Looking closely, she saw that the noise was from a J'avo. Not wanting to draw too much attention to her presence, Ada loaded her crossbow and took aim. The J'avo was too clueless to turn around, and Ada fired the weapon. Bulls-eye. The J'avo fell forward, dead. Satisfied, Ada continued on her way. A few times, she had to go through the ventilation system to avoid confrontation, but she went unnoticed regardless. Eventually, she made it to a small corridor, where a small camera with a laser sight was swinging back and forth. There was also a J'avo blocking the path. Looking at her options, Ada concluded that she was fast enough to beat the laser gun camera. However, she failed to see the small platform in front of her. She stepped on it, and both the J'avo and the camera swung her way. She ducked at the gun went off, but nothing hit her. She opened her eyes and saw that the J'avo had been shot dead.
" Offing your own crew, huh?" Ada questioned. " Lots of trust issues, I see."
Ada continued her little journey until she came to a small narrow door. Cautiously, she opened it, and found a large white screen and a projector. She turned on the projector and watched the small clip. Simmons' voice echoed in the small room. In the video, it showed the small city of Edonia in near ruins.
" Ada Wong," Simmons spoke. " Jake Muller has been spotted in the Republic of Edonia. Your mission is to find out if he has the antibodies in his blood. We can not allow a vaccine to be created. I have sent Agent Sherry Birkin to retrieve him and meet you at the next small town. Make sure that the two of them make it out of there alive. Good luck."
Ada checked the date that the video had been created. December 23rd, 2012.
" Those orders were dated six months ago. I don't remember those orders," Ada thought aloud. " Maybe they got passed on to someone else."
" One more thing," Simmons continued in the video. " Jake has a female living with him."
Ada turned back to look at the projection, and her heart stopped. She was staring at a young girl, maybe eighteen years old, with long black hair and sharp blue eyes like ice and diamonds. Ada moved closer to the screen, to the girl. Her eyes filled with tears as she looked at the picture.
" The girl's name is Cecile Redfield. She is eighteen years old and has a keen sense of detecting lies. Do not allow her to be around Jake when you apprehend him. Either apprehend her as well or exterminate her. The choice is yours."
The video cut to black. Ada went back to the projector and rewound the tape. She then played it again, waiting for the face to appear once again. There! She paused the tape, not caring about ruining it. Ada stared at the girl for a long time, feeling every regret she had from fifteen years ago. She went back to the screen and caressed the girl's hair gently. She had grown so much, but Ada would've been able to recognize her in any crowd. After all....
A mother would be able to recognize her own daughter anywhere.
------------------------------------
" You're my real brother."
That sentence replayed itself in Jake's mind as he and Sherry made their way to the Thai Lung Building in Kwoo Chieng. He wasn't the only one distracted, either. Sherry had a look of doubt on her face as they neared the docks. Jake stopped behind her and thought for a moment. Sherry had known about their situation from the beginning and never told them. What compelled her to stay silent?
Sherry noticed that Jake was no longer following, and she stopped as well. She turned and faced him, but she couldn't meet his eyes. Those cold, sharp eyes. She walked back to him and stopped three feet away, gaze still on the ground.
" How come you never told us that we were siblings?"
" It was not my job to tell you," she answered.
" But it was your job to keep me safe, and that includes my family for me," Jake argued.
" I'm sorry."
" A little too late for that, don't you think? Cecile's gone. We don't know where she is, and I blame you."
Sherry felt the tears forming, but she held them back. It would make her look pitiful, and she did not want to deal with that right now.
" She's a soldier, Jake. She's probably trying to make everything clearer, and to do that, she needs to be alone. She's alive and well, but she just needed to be alone. I know it."
" That better be the case," Jake said, and walked by Sherry. She followed him, giving him enough space to cool down. She knew it was her fault, but she hadn't deemed it important enough to tell him yet. Not until she had gotten more information on Jake. She wanted to keep the mission simple and easy. For her, unfortunately, that was not in the cards for her.
They made it to the river front with little trouble. There was a small boat that the two climbed onto. Jake grabbed the pull string and started the engine while Sherry took the wheel. She continued to think about their situation. Sherry was worried about Cecile, but she was more concerned about Simmons. Could he really be behind all the attacks? Sherry shook off the notion, but it followed her. Leon's words echoed in her ears.
" We're going after the man behind all this- National Security Advisor Derrick Simmons."
In all her years, Sherry knew that Leon would not lie to her. He never lied about anything. But, to accuse Simmons for such a serious crime? There had to be hardcore evidence for her to believe any of it. But, no matter how hard she tried to believe the words she said, Leon's words popped up, filling her head. She shook her head and looked ahead. Debris of fallen pillars floated in the water, and it was difficult for Sherry to maneuver through it. They made it, though, and they made it to the next building. Jake jumped off and turned around, offering his hand to her. She went to take it, but was knocked backwards by an unknown force. The boat, which was anchored, was now moving down the river. Sherry got up and looked around the boat. In front of her was a B.O.W with a chainsaw for a hand. She recognized this type of B.O.W, but could not remember its name. What she did know was that the heart was located in its chainsaw hand. She quickly pulled out her Elephant Killer, a magnum with a lot of power. She fired one round into its hand. The B.O.W knelt down and became immobile. That lasted for a second. Its hand revved up, and the creature was after her once more. Sherry dodged the thing the best she could, weaving between the mast and the steering wheel. She was running out of breath, and didn't know how much more she could take before the B.O.W would catch her.
The sound of metal beams echoed in her ears. Both of them looked up and saw steel rods falling towards them. Sherry ducked, waiting for the pain to set in. Instead, she felt her feet lift off the boat as an arm wrapped around her and pulled her up. Sherry opened her eyes, then closed them again for the fear of heights. Suddenly, she was thrown into the air and landed in Jake's arms. Surprisingly, Jake was able to catch her without dropping her. He set her down, and the both of them looked for the culprit. They couldn't see anyone to thank. Tired and running out of time, Jake and Sherry made their way up to the Thai Lung Building. They were only about fifty yards away from their destination now.
As they reached the door to enter, Sherry stopped. She contemplated her next move. Jake placed a hand on her shoulder and looked at her. Sherry met his gaze, and her mind was made up. After all they had been through, she was not going to allow anyone to harm Jake.
" If what Leon said is true," Sherry began. " And things get messy and out of hand, I want you to run."
" Psh," Jake snorted. " As if I would ever do that."
" I'm serious, Jake. Your life is too important to lose now. Please promise me that if something goes wrong, you will run."
They stared at each other for a long while. Jake sighed and looked away.
" Alright," he looked back at Sherry. " I promise."
" Thank you."
Turning back around, the two grabbed the two door handles. Together, they opened the doors and walked to their fate.
----------------------------------
The BSAA moved forward and entered the building that the snake like B.O.W had entered. Chris took the lead, Piers and Cecile in the middle, and the three other men in the back. Room after room, they checked every inch of every little section of the floor. The B.O.W was nowhere to be seen. Piers looked around and found a tiny bedroom with a bunk bed next to the wall. The room itself could fit two people with the bunk bed in the room. Perfect. Looking around, he quickly spotted Cecile, who was standing and looking straight ahead with a glaze over her eyes. Piers grabbed her hand, and she jumped. Piers held onto it and pulled her to the small room. She looked at him and cocked an eyebrow.
" We're in the middle of a mission, and you want to get laid? Didn't peg you for the perverted type."
Piers chuckled at the sly remark. She may have been daydreaming, but she was quick with remarks.
" Sorry, sweetheart," he said, playful sarcasm in his voice. " But I don't play that game. Anyway, I need to talk to you about Chris."
All the playfulness was gone, and Cecile's eyes turned somber. Piers felt his smile fall into a straight line, but this had to be said.
" He's losing control of his sanity, and fast. He's driven by revenge, and will do anything to fulfill his need- even if it means losing his men in the process."
" Your point?"
" You can still walk away from here and be safe. I know the idea is not appealing, but it's the best option for you. I won't watch Chris bring down his family with him, especially his own daughter."
Cecile looked down and pondered over the choice. Piers could see the gears working in her brain as she tried to see both sides. He looked over and saw Chris staring at the two of them, almost accusingly. Piers looked away and back to Cecile, who was looking back at him with determination. She didn't even have to speak. Piers knew her answer.
" I'm staying with you guys. If his mind is slowly fading, someone has to be here to help patch up the sanity."
" I was afraid of that answer," Piers sighed. He wasn't angry though. He was a little relieved to hear that she would be sticking around for a while. He patted her shoulder, then moved to Chris. He was no longer focused on them, but was listening for the B.O.W. The group made their way through the building quickly under Chris's order. They would stop periodically to listen and check for a clearing. When nothing stopped them, they marched on without a glance back. Piers stayed very close to Cecile and Chris. Right now, he could not trust Chris around his own daughter.
" Waaahhh!" one of the men, Reid, began screaming. The team turned around and stared at him. He was in the jaws of the B.O.W, and his finger was on the trigger. Piers ducked down as bullets began to rain upon them. He heard Cecile grunt, and he looked at her. She was holding her left shoulder, which was bleeding profoundly. Thinking quickly, he pulled her around a corner and began his work, knowing he did not have a lot of time. He cut off her sleeve, making her t-shirt into a tank top. Luckily, the bullet had gone completely through her skin and missed all major arteries. Good. He quickly poured disinfectant spray on her wound and bandaged it up. This took about one minute to complete. After tending to her, Piers jumped up and ran after Chris, who was following the B.O.W. Piers pulled out a handgun and checked the area. When Piers aimed his gun in Chris's direction, Chris was right there with him, aiming at him. They lowered their guns, and Chris cursed at the wall in front of him.
" What the hell were you thinking, pulling a kamikaze stunt like that?!" Piers demanded.
Chris was breathing heavily and angrily. He did not turn to Piers yet, but he spoke to him.
" These are my men, and you will follow my orders, or I will find someone who will."
" Do you even hear yourself?"
Chris now turned to Piers and was in his face.
" Fall in line, soldier."
Chris walked away, and Piers let the breath he had been holding out. He then turned to the other men behind him.
" You heard the man. Let's move."
" Yes, sir!" the men complied, then followed Piers out of the area. Cecile was back on her feet and glaring at Chris as he spoke to her. Friction between them became more evident as the men got closer. Piers could hear the anger in their voices, but could not make out the words. Suddenly, Cecile threw up her hand and began to walk away, trying to diffuse the fight. Chris grabbed her injured shoulder and tried to continue the argument. He should have seen it coming. Cecile turned and punched Chris in the jaw with her right hand. He fell, hard, and grabbed his jaw gently, looking at her with newfound heights of anger.
" What the hell makes you think you can lay your hands on your commanding officer?"
" If I remember correctly, I'm not a member of the BSAA because YOU said that I couldn't be," Cecile countered. " Get your head out of your ass and start thinking about what you are doing to your men. You're killing them! All you care about is your revenge on Ada, and you will do anything to get to her. I want her dead too, but I have a clear head about it because I know what's right. Now get your ass up and start acting like a Captain, not like a douchebag."
Cecile walked away without another word. Chris stared in amazement after her and could not speak. Piers held out his hand, and Chris took it. He began shaking his head.
" She really is all grown up," Chris murmured. Piers patted his back and followed after Cecile. Whether she liked it or not, her attitude and mindset was exactly like Chris's, and that was going to get her into trouble.
----------------------------------
Ada made it to the building where she had seen the BSAA enter. She was on a mission, and she was set on it. She was going to find her daughter and explain everything. However, that would not be as easy as she would like it to be. There was a doppelgänger on the loose, and Ada had to be careful. After all, it was HER doppelgänger.
She entered the building using her grappling hook. She checked her surroundings quickly, then proceeded forward, listening for the BSAA. There was no sound. Ada made her way up a flight of stairs and searched for her daughter. Nothing on the first five floors. Growing agitated, she used her grappling hook to go up to the seventh level, which had a large hole gaping above her. She was launched in the air and landed lightly on her feet.
Footsteps. Ada quickly took to the shadows for cover. They were light footsteps, angry footsteps. Ada heard a female voice cursing quietly to herself, and her heart swelled. She sounded like her when she had been that age. She waited silently, making sure no one was with her. The coast was clear.
Ada stepped out of the shadows and put a hand around the girl's mouth. The girl struggled with her for a good minute before breaking free and facing her attacker. All Ada could do was stare. In person, she looked worse than what she should have. Her cheekbones were protruding from her skin, the bones in her hands and wrist could be seen, and her eyes were sunken into her head. However, it was her eyes that held Ada's attention. They were sapphire blue that burned like fire as she gazed at Ada. They were the same color as Wesker's had been, and it saddened Ada. She had been hoping that, by some miracle, they would become a different color. Now, however, was not the time to be sulking about the eye color. Right now, the girl had a knife in her hand and was lunging at Ada.
Ada sidestepped as the girl lunged. She then turned and backed into the shadows. Cecile was quick, and turned one hundred and eighty degrees and kicked Ada's legs out from under her. She hit her head on the concrete and groaned in pain. Cecile pinned her down and posed the knife over Ada's heart. Reacting on instinct, Ada grabbed Cecile's hands as they came down to strike the final blow. She was strong, Ada had to give her that much. This fight, on the other hand, was not going anywhere. They were evenly matched.
" Cecile, STOP!" Ada shouted at her. " Don't you recognize me?"
" Ada Wong."
" So you know my name," Ada told her. " But you don't truly recognize me."
" Sure I do," Cecile said. " You're the woman who locked me up for the past six months and kidnapped my brother! Don't play dumb!"
" Cecile, that wasn't me!" Ada insisted. " Let me up and I'll prove it!"
" There's nothing to prove."
The knife plunged down and hit Ada's shoulder as she rolled. She gasped at the sudden pain it brought. Tired of this, she put her feet on Cecile's stomach and kicked her off. Cecile rolled and landed on her feet, preparing to attack again. Ada stood and did the only thing she could think of- she dropped her weapons and held up her hands. Ada knew it would not work, but she had to try something to save her life and talk to her. There was nothing else she could do.
She saw the hesitation in Cecile's eyes. Ada felt hope spark in her chest. She took a small step forward, and was instantly stopped by the blade being raised.
" I only want to talk to you," Ada said. Suspicion laced Cecile's eyes, but she made no move towards her. She inclined her head upwards. Approval.
" You obviously don't recognize me, so I'll give you some background information. My name is Ada Wong, and I am a spy for the U.S government. I use to live in Raccoon City, where Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield began their work. I met a man there, who persuaded me to stay in Raccoon for a while. I stayed, and we got married on March 22nd, 1994. Two months later, I was pregnant with a girl. After my daughter was born, my husband left me to do his job. He was a S.T.A.R.S member back in the day. He was also an Umbrella Corporation spy. A double agent. He helped Umbrella release the T-Virus nearly three years after my daughter was born. Ten months later, I had to leave her because I became a target, and I couldn't live with myself if my daughter had been taken and experimented on. I gave her a chance to survive. When I came back for her, she had already been found by her father, who didn't recognize her, and a man who seemed to care for her truly. There was nothing more I could do, except to let her live her life like a normal child."
