Chapter Six: Only Human
16:15, 16 January 2024After twenty minutes of waiting around, looking for a coffee shop, we finally found one. Both of us were out of breath, and decided to sit down right in front of the shop, taking a breath while we were so excited to get the coffee we've been looking for.
"The Jonas Brothers are really going on tour!" Tessa said.
"Enough about the tour!" I shouted. "It's all you've been rambling about!"
Tessa has been using all her breath speaking about the Jonas Brothers and their new upcoming world tour while I have been running around to figure out where to go, going down every path around this town to figure out where everything is here.
"But the tour is so exciting." Tessa replied. "If you don't want to go, that's on you. But I'm going!"
The one time she's giving me an out, I could see that she is fondling with her fingers, which is something she does when she wants me to do something with her. I can't say no to her.
"Fine," I gave up.
"YAY!" Tessa squealed, wrapping her arms around me.
"But they're not even that good!" I exclaimed, looking toward her with a little rage in my tone.
"They're amazing!" Tessa fought back.
"When they sing, they sound like they're having an orgasm!" I replied to her.
Once I had enough energy to get up and walk into the coffee shop, I stood myself up and then walked into the shop. It was not a super busy shop. Not a lot of people were around, which was good for us, I guess.
The coffee shop was small, but beautiful. Inside, the walls were blue with beautiful clouds on the top of the wall and then we walked up to the counter.
"What can I do for you, ma'am?" The cashier asked us at the front of the line.
I took some time to look at the many and the kinds of the coffees they have in here.
"I would like a black coffee." I happily replied. "No whipped cream, please."
The cashier then turned to look at Tessa, looking for an answer from her.
"So, what would you like?" The cashier asked my friend.
Tessa put her hand on her chin and then looked at me. I shrugged, not knowing what to tell her about what she should get. I don't want her hating me later!
"I would like a mocha, please." Tessa replied.
After she ordered, we both waited by the window for our drinks to be brewed by the baristas in the back.
"Tessa and Jessica!" The barista said, placing our drinks on the pick-up counter.
After I grabbed my coffee, I turned to walk the other way and I kept walking until I forgot to hear the bell opening the coffee shop. I tripped, spilling my coffee all over the guy in front of me.
"I am so sorry!" I said, and then paused for a minute.
My brain shot back to reality, and I ran to the pick-up counter, grabbing napkins and then putting them all over this person. I looked to see Tessa and she looked horrified.
Her jaw dropped with her hand barely covering it and her eyes widened like a deer in front of headlights. She let out one of the biggest gasps in her life and then looked at me.
"Oh my god!" Tessa said.
"What did I do?" I asked her.
