Chapter 6

Joshua pov.

"Dk what are you doing here?" I opened the door.

"I heard in the office that you're sick. Hoshi gave me your address." He said as he showed me Hoshi's handwritting. He really just gave away my address.

"Oh, I'm fine. People in the office are just paranoid." I said as I try to act weaker than normal. I mean what's the point of me faking when he's here. I wanted to get away from him, but wow what a new development here.

"I wanted to give you this croissant to cheer you up but I got really anxious on the way so I snacked on it. Wanna bite? I promise I'm clean." He said as he offered me a bite. He even smiled at me as he handed me the croissant on the door. He looked so cute holding a giant croissant.

"Come in." I said as I try to tidy up a little.

"Thank you. You have a nice house." He said politely.

"And thank you to you too." I said and then he looked at me.

"You don't look sick though." He suddenly said. I panicked. Oh this is the part where he will say that I'm a liar.

"Oh really?" I asked shyly.

"Well maybe because you're so handsome, the sickness doesn't even affect you." He said and I looked at him.

"Was that a pick up line?" I asked almost chuckling.

"Hey! I'm trying here." He said as he covered his face. Damn it he's too cute. I need to focus.

"Good one, you almost got me." I humored him and he smiled even wider.

"Oh Here I brought the Tupperware you left at my house. You even left this teacup and thermos. Why were you such in a hurry last time anyway." He asked but I just changed the topic real fast.

"I don't know. Anyway wanna make pasta? I mean we promised the Saturday but since you're here already why not try making pasta? I would love to eat pasta right about now." I suddenly suggested.

"Oh sure! But do you have ingredients there? Or should I say your brother have?" He joked and I just laughed at him a little.

"I do. But do you wanna make a dough from scratch?" I asked him and he thought about it for a minute. He suddenly rolled his sleeves up his forearms expressing the muscles hidden away.

"I think I wanna try kneeding. I heard it was fun." He said and I just chuckled. He then grabbed the roller from the cabinet.

"Wow you have the complete set. A good roller in the right hand and a dash of confidence on the left hand. But don't worry we have youtube to guide us." I said trying to do all this without any help. Honestly I didn't realize that I would fall so deep in making pasta just to change the subject earlier.

"Shut up. Let's do this." He said with determination.

We started the youtube video and followed the steps right on the measurements and all. Even the hand forms are included. I could see Dk in the zone. He was already kneeding the dough when I finished making the base sauce.

"You're needing too hard." I commented and he laughed.

"Oh I didn't know you liked it gentle." He said and smirked like he was proud of what he was saying to me. Is he seriously trying to seduce me right now? Or am I just tripping.

The worst part is, He was already wearing a pretty short t-shirt like a crop top. So every-time he leaned forward to press on the dough, his shirt goes up. It exposes a little of his abs. Damn that was hot.

"Why are you looking at me? Please contribute and help me here. I'm literally covered with flour." He complained and I laughed when he looked at me. Oh he was not joking. It looked like he inhaled the flour.

"But you're doing a great job. You just have a little...lemme get it for you." I said as I reached out to wipe his cheek. He stopped kneeding and waited for me to finish wiping for him. He smiled and thank me after I did that. My heart did a little flipy-di-flip when he did that but I brushed it off.

"Uhmm, is your brother gonna be okay with me here messing up the kitchen?" He asked and I nodded.

"It's alright he wanted me to invite you here anyway so it's fine." I suddenly said without thinking.

"Oh he did? He's so thoughtful." He said and I felt a little tinge of jealousy. Hey I'm thoughtful too!

"But don't worry about him. Let's just continue this." I said and we did. We followed the instructions from a youtube clip and did it rather perfectly. I did most of the work in the sauce so I felt relieved. I did pretty good too to be honest.

As soon as we finish boiling the pasta and adding the sauce we ate our dinner. It was already past 8 when we finished and we started in about 6:00.

"This is actually better than some of the Italian restaurants I've been in. All saved by your sauce." He complimented me.

"Well let's save some for Jeonghan. I need to brag a little." I said and he laughed.

"I'll get a bowl..." Dk said and went to get them, I followed next to him because I wanna grab dome sparkling water from the counter.

As I was reaching the water beside Dk, he turned around so suddenly at the same time I leaned forward. This caused our faces to bump into each other. Or more like an accidental kiss.

Our mouth just bumped but I was already blushing and flustered just feeling everything all at once. Then I immediately took a step back. Much like a reflex.

"Oh. Sorry." I immediately said. He just looked at me in shock. Then he smiled a little, it was subtle but I noticed it.

"Yeah maybe we should have choreographed this better, next time let's prepare." Dk joked and I laughed.

After that accidental kiss the kitchen was quiet again. We ate in silence for a little while and then we decided to do the dishes.

We kept working side by side and our shoulders and arms were touching. I didn't wanna make a big deal out of it but I love his scent. I washed the dishes and he dries it. We were like an oiled machine.

"I like this." He suddenly said.

"Like what? Washing Dishes?" I asked.

"No. I like being with you." He suddenly said. I was speechless, I don't know how to respond.

"Do you always say everything that comes into your brain?" I asked and chuckled.

"Well yeah, I was voted most honest in our elementary school." He bragged and I laughed. Then all of a sudden the sound of (THUNDER). Then I saw Dk holding to his ears and closing his eyes. I smiled at him and then he caught me judging him as he opened his eyes.

"Don't make fun of me! I hate stormy weather. It's really scary. The sound is just too hunted for me. " He pouted and I was already amused. Turns out the rain really poured hard.

"It looks like this is not gonna stop any time soon." I said as I closed the windows from the kitchen to the living room and all.

Suddenly got a text from Jeonghan.

"I'll be back tomorrow. Rain is pretty nonstop. I'll cuddle up with my boyfriend in his apartment. Unlike you... spending the cold nights alone." He added and I just shook my head at his message. A simple can't go home because its raining would have been acceptable already but noooo, he really wanted to brag.

"Sooooooo what's the game plan? Do you have extra raincoats?" Dk suddenly interrupted my thoughts.

"Oh you're not going out there. It's pouring like crazy." I said and he looked at me.

"I could stay the night?" He asked excitedly.

"Yeah sure. Why not" I said calmly but boy was I panicked. Only the two of us here. What the hell am I supposed to do?!? This is literally the opposite of moving on. I'm just dragging myself to doom at this point.

"I have nothing to wear. Or I could just wear this." He suddenly said looking at his t shirt.

"You can use some of my clothes. Just pick one." I said without thinking again.PICK ONE?!?! What IS FREAKING WRONG WITH ME???? My clothes?!? This is just a disaster in a bowl. Joshua you are panicking (breathe in..... breathe out...)

"Really? Thanksss" he said as he rummaged through my closet. He then found a pretty loose shirt and a really short Shorts. Is this what hell is like? He looked so cute!

"It smells really good. " he said as he sniffed my shirt and looked at me while smiling. Seriously his smile needs to be in jail. It's pretty lethal.

"You need to stop that." I said and he just chuckled.

"Sooo... where am I gonna stay?" He suddenly asked.

"You can take my bed. I don't think Jeonghan will appreciate me lending you his bed. He's pretty possessive about that stuff. I could sleep in the couch." I offered and he looked confused.

"No, your back will hurt." He suddenly said.

"I'm not that old" I joked and he smiled.

"I'm just concerned since I'm just staying until the storm subside." He said but I just shook my head.

"The couch pretty big I'll be fine here. I was the one that made you late so I need to take responsibility. Go and sleep." I said and he nodded. I stayed outside watching some movies to pass the time.

A little while later, the thunder started again. It felt like the sky was splitting in two. Even if I wasn't afraid I was a little worried since it felt like the world was moving with every sound it makes. Then the light from the bedroom door shined in my direction. I knew the door opened so I looked back.

"Sir?" Dk suddenly asked.

"Hmm?" I replied.

"Would it be weird if I invite you inside? Just... just until the storm passes. To be honest I'm not really fond of thunderstorms." He said and I just looked at him. Will it be okay? I'm literally asking myself if I was gonna be okey if I joined him in the bedroom.

"You Sure?" I asked him.

"Yeah. I promise not to kick you. I sleep really straight. And the bed's really big, we can both fit. " He suddenly said as he opened the door to let me in.

"Alright then. Let's just place a pillow here so we don't bumb into each other." I said as I put the pillow between us.

"Thank's boss." He suddenly said.

"Shua." I corrected him and he smiled. Then he hugged the other pillow and slept. For a while I was playing with my phone then he suddenly started talking.

"Uhmmm, so what do you do as a form of hobbies?" He suddenly asked and I smirked.

"Is this your form of small talk?" I asked him and laughed. Then he looked at me. But actually looking at the pillow between us.

"Yeah just answer." He said and I chuckled.

"Maybe running?" I said but actually it was just a front.

"Really? Never saw you running. Tell me something random" He suddenly said and I chuckled.

"Just kidding, I can actually sing. A little" I bragged.

"Oh really? Sing me one song." He suddenly asked.

"No way. You think I can just sing anything anywhere?." I asked then He looked at me and moved closer.

"How about singing for me?" He suddenly said and I was in shock that I didn't move. Okey relax. He's just like this to everyone don't be flustered about a silly move. He's just so cute... ahrhdhhghhh

"I want to hear you sing first." I said trying to dial down the tension. Seriously I can't believe he is taken at this point.

"Alright, what do you wanna hear?" He said confidently and sat down on the bed. I didn't bother sitting up and just placed my hands on the back of my head watching him and thinking of a song.

"Uhmmmmm... how about.. you pick." I said and he thought about it for a good minute.

"Okey I'll be singing the chorus of my favorite song today... the title is Happy by Day6. I don't know if you've heard about them but they really are great." He suddenly said and I smiled.

"I know them... let me hear your version then." I said and then he started singing. 🎶🎶

I just looked at him as he was smiling and singing just drowning out the rain sounds in the window and the wind from outside. It's like all I could hear was him. I couldn't believe the quality of his voice. How is he not famous at this state.

Then he stopped singing and smiled as soon as the chorus ended.

"Woah." Was all I could say.

"You liked it?" He asked.

"I like it. I like it so much. It's hard to stop myself from wanting more..." I said but honestly I was just talking about liking him even more. How can I stop myself from liking him if this is what's in front of me. I'm doomed. Sooner or later I'll be fine about being an affair at this point. NO!!! Bad thoughts again Joshua! ARHGHH I'm literally fighting my inner thoughts.

"If I didn't know any better I would say that you are already in-love with me." He suddenly said and I was taken by surprise. I didn't say a thing then he looked at my shocked face.

"Of course I was kidding! Relax. You're still my boss!" He said and shyly covered his face with the pillow.

"Right obviously a joke." I said trying to save myself the embarrassment that he was actually right this time.

"That will be weird right?" He suddenly asked but his face was dead serious like he was waiting for me to answer properly.

"Totally weird." I said jokingly and chuckled awkwardly. Both of us didn't say a word after that. Pure silence and awkwardness. Then he suddenly tapped me as if trying to know if I was sleeping.

"Hmm.."?" I asked.

"Sorry for making it weird." He suddenly said.

"Nah... it's not your fault." I told him honestly.

"Can I hear your voice now?" He suddenly asked and zi had no choice. I mean he sang for me, I should return the favor.

" just a bit okey?." I said and sang him a cover of double take.. it sums up some of my feelings for him..

He looked at me and started harmonizing. I didn't stop singing and neither did he. It was pure genius how he harmonized with my voice. He even added adlibs as if he was performing in a stage. As I finished the song my heart was already beating right out of my chest. This is totally not normal.

"It felt like the song was about me." Dk joked again and I can see that because he was laughing a little. So I joked at him back.

"Not originally, but maybe tonight it was." I joked (half meant) but then he looked at me and then turned his back around. He covered his face with his hands.

"Dk?" I asked.

"Okey you need to stop flirting with me!" He suddenly shouted and I was appalled. WHAT DID HE JUST SAY TO ME??!?

"Oh right. Sorry." Then I realized why... he was taken.. I'm gonna be a home wrecker.

"Let's just sleep tonight." He suddenly said and I nodded.

"You're right... sorry." I said automatically.

"No need to be sorry. I kinda like it." He said while closing his eyes and facing me.

"Dk, it's wrong." I said and he smiled.

"But it makes me feel so warm." He said still closing his eyes.

"Weirdo." I said trying to stop myself from pouncing on him . He's too cute, I hate myself for being late and watching him be with someone else.

"Goodnight Shua." He then mumbled and it made me smiled.

"Good night indeed." I said and closed my eyes too. After a few minutes I was out.

I woke up unusually warm than normal. I blinked for a few times to adjust to the light. The thunderstorm yesterday was nonexistent now. The sun was full on shinning. I yawned and stretched, but then I noticed that Dk's arm was around me. Around my waist to be exact.

His leg... around me too...

And his breathing... right up against my neck. Then my eyes shot open. Okey relax, this is just because of the storm. It's cold. He made me like a body pillow. The pillow he was hugging yesterday was already at the floor same as the pillow between us yesterday.

I tried shifting away, but every-time I do, he shifts closer. Then I stayed still. I didn't wanna move because I don't want to okey? I was just being considerate at first. Okey game plan, one swift movement, but then Dk suddenly shifted waking up because of my unexpected movements.

"Morning..." he automatically said not realizing the position he was in. His face was literally kissing my neck by this point.

"Morning sleepy head. Just so you know, I need my personal space too." I joked and that's when he realized what position we were in.

"Oh my god! Sorry sorry. I didn't mean to hug you sir." He said as he jumped away and bowed his head. His ears were red from embarrassment. I find it cute.

"Sir?" I asked.

"With our position, it didn't feel right to call you by a nickname." He said and fixed himself.

"No problem, you probably just rolled." I said trying to gaslight the events happening this morning.

Then all of a sudden my door swung open. And right on time as always my brother looked at me. Looked at Dk and then back at me with a smirk.

"Oh you sure do work fast. Didn't know you still had it in you. ." he said almost automatically and then Dk looked at me.

"It's not what it looks like." Dk answered this time. I guess he was embarrassed.

"Yeah right, you're wearing his clothes!" Jeonghan shrieked! I face palmed myself. Nice way of scaring the kid Jeonghan.

"No I lent it to him— I was just accompanying him because he was a little frightened by the storm." I helped explain and then stood up the bed. Dk stood up as well and then didn't look at me. He's definitely embarrassed, I should kick my brother out.

"Why are you guys embarrassed. love is natural. Do it! It's fun." Jeonghan said.

"Shut up han. It's nothing like that. I had no choice he was scared. I had to be with him. Stop being a baby"  I said and then Dk looked at me like I said something that hurt him? What did I do? He looked shocked.

"Really? Wow but you're concerned about his fears and whatnot last night that you cuddled together to make him feel better. Yeah you're right no endearment there." Jeonghan said and closed the door leaving us both with silence. Dk didn't say a word, I wanted to say something but no words came out.

"I think I'll be going home. Thank you for staying with me even though you didn't want to. Even though you didn't even have a choice." (Emphasis on no choice) He suddenly said and then grabbed his backpack with him. It's like a punch on the stomach. I didn't mean to say it like that. I was just panicking and embarrassed.

"Dk.." I called out.

"What?" He said but no smile this time. Pure straight no emotion.

"Oh your shirt? I'll wash it first. Don't worry, I knew you were just pressured to lend me these. You just had to do it right?!?" He suddenly said sulking and i grabbed him by the hand.

"I don't care about the shirt. Are you mad? I didn't mean—-" he cut me off

"Am I mad? Nahhh Maybe.. just batshit confused mostly." He said with daggers in his tone. Why is he being so sulky first thing in the morning.

"I don't understand." I said as I stopped him before he opened the door.

"Well maybe you can talk to me again when you make up your mind." He said and then he pushed my hand away from the door and went out.

Jeonghan looked at me and I glared at him.

"See what you did!!!?!" I snapped at my brother.

"Oh that was definitely a little bit my fault but mostly yours so I'll just get out of your way..." Jeonghan whispered beside me and I just really want to punch my brother in the face. I should run after him.

I started to run and then I stopped. I realized why am I giving all this effort? Just because he looked hurt? I then brushed it all away and run after him. I don't know why but I need to know he's not angry at me..

Then I finally caught up to him the sidewalk just outside the house.

"Dk, wait." I said as I reached his hands.

"Okey stop that. Look at you giving me mixed signals." He suddenly said and I looked at him weirdly.

"Me?? I'm the one giving you mixed signals?!?! Come on be real this time." I said and he looked confused.

"You told your brother you just had to be with me you had no choice. Like you were forced to be with me in that room! But you treat me like nobody else in the office, always bring me home! I didn't even ask you to! Acting caring and shit! Why are you like this!" He suddenly said and I got even more confused he's not the best explanation guy.

"What are you talking about?!?" I asked him.

"Joshua. Why are you even here?" He asked slowly this time.

"What? I wanted to know what I could do to stop you from being angry. But clearly you're upset about a whole different thing." I said honestly.

"Do you even know why I'm angry.?!?" He asked.

"No.." I said.

"See?!? This is just absolutely absurd. You're the older one here. Doesn't that mean that you should be the smarter one?!?" He said and I felt insulted a little.

"What are we even arguing about?!?" I asked.

"Figure it out before you talk to me again. From now on, we will be co workers nothing more. We forget about everything. You are nothing more than my boss!" He shouted at me. Then walked away. I was stunned in place. How the hell did this come to this? Why is he so angry?!?

I grabbed his hands again. He didn't look back but I saw a glimpse of his face. There was tears. I stood back unmoved in the sidewalk.

He's crying.

I made him so angry he cried. I was a statue.

"Dumbass!" Jeonghan said all of a sudden. FUCK!
