Chapter 5

Joshua pov.

"Hey I got you this." Dk said as he handed me a green smoothie. I don't know what it was but it was like the color of matcha.

"What's this for?" I asked.

"Well you told me you were cutting back on caffeine." He said and innocently smiled. Damn that was just an excuse to stop him from giving me coffee everyday but he just found a loophole right away.

"Thank you." I said with guilt. I really don't get him. He acts like he still likes me. But he has a boyfriend clearly. He caught me looking at him and he winked. I was caught off guard and immediately looked away. Joshua pull yourself together!

Then as always right on time, Hao and Hoshi entered the office. To annoy me again as always. They only enter if they have something to discuss like another rumor or food. Nothing in between.

"Big news!" Hoshi suddenly said.

"Huh?" I asked as i looked at him.

"I think I'll be having a boyfriend in no time." Hoshi announced and I just chuckled. He keeps living in his imaginations sometimes. I looked at Hao and he just raised his shoulder because he has no idea what Hoshi is going on about. He probably got dragged here too, he looks bored.

"Who?" I asked.

"I met this guy at the dinner we went to. He's the one that comes to the table for a few times.." He bragged.

"The waiter?!?" I asked in shock.

"Now that's new. But your mother will definitely kill you this time." Hao commented.

"It's fine. She told me to settle down before I turn 30 and I'm trying to do that. Just not with the girls she kept on blind dating me." He bragged.

"Are you even gay or bi atleast?" I asked and Hao laughed.

"Hey I can be Bi it's a free world!." He defended himself.

"Whatever you do just update me." I said and he laughed. I don't know what his deal is with right now but I guess he found someone awesome. I mean Hoshi doesn't usually settle for someone lame. Even if it doesn't show he actually has really high standards.

"Good luck with that. Also mention that to him." Hao said and Hoshi looked at him.

"That you're dating a guy for the first time." Hao said and Hoshi nodded.

"That matters?" He asked.

"Ofcourse it does!" Hao said and I just laughed at the two of them. Then I looked at Dk who is hard at work on his desk.

"Anyway... who wants to come with? I need to get some stuff for Jeonghan. I have no idea what he wants to make but he gave me a list." I said as I held a grocery list.

"Pass. I have plans with my boyfriend. My apologies to all the single people here in the office. We taken people have other things to do rather than go with you. Right Dk? " He said as he looked at me. Seriously?!?

"Huh?" DK asked as if he doesn't know what Hao was talking about.

"Don't mind him Dk. Soon only Joshua will be the single one here." Hoshi laughed as he put his arms around Dk's shoulder. Dk just continued to look confused but just smile like usual.

"Can you guys just go back to your desks already? Dk can't concentrate with you guys disturbing him." I said and Dk just giggled.

"You just want Dk all to yourself." Hoshi said as he put his tongue out at me.

"Get!" I snapped. They both just laughed and waved goodbye at me. Seriously are they even doing something in this company or not. They really have a lot of free time.

"Sorry about them if it makes you uncomfortable." I told Dk and he just smiled.

"Nah, I don't mind. I feel like it's their nature anyway." He said and continued his work.

"Maybe I'll call Gyu, he knows more about these stuff than I do." I mumbled to myself.

"Gyu? Is he the guy you're with last time in the restaurant?" I was shocked when Dk suddenly interrupted.

"Oh you saw." I said.

"Yeah, you were pretty cuddly." He said sarcastically like he was implying something but I couldn't get it.

"Oh he's just a..... friend. Nothing's going on between us." I settled on friend since I didn't wanna tell him he's my ex. Wait why am I bothering to explain anyway?!?

"Oh?" He said and smiled a little. It was brief but I noticed it right away.

"Yup. He's really good at cooking too so I was thinking.." I trailed off when Dk interrupted me.

"I could go with you. You don't need to disturb him." He suddenly said.

"Oh don't worry he owes me big time so I won't be disturbing him. No need. Don't be pressured to go." I said.

"I said I'll go." He suddenly snapped but then looked at me in the eyes intently.

"Okey okey, we can go together." I said. I was shocked by his sudden raise of voice.

"Don't worry, I'll just be tagging along. Honestly I have no idea about that stuff too but it might be fun going with you." He said and Smiled. Again with that smile! Does he do that to everyone? Okey relax why am I getting irritated.

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"Sure. I might need some stuff too. My younger brother is in town anyway. I need some food in my house." He said shyly.

"Oh you have younger brothers?" I asked.

"Oh only one. Name's Dino. And also an older brother that only visits when he has some appointment here or someone he's dating. The two of them usually stay with my mom and dad. I just wanted to be... a little bit independent." He said and I nodded. Okey New information.

"How about you? only sir Jeonghan?" He suddenly asked.

"Yup. Just my one and only older brother." I said and he giggled a little.

"Why are you laughing?" I asked.

"Actually I met him already." He suddenly said.

"You did? How?" I asked.

"Well, he recognized me somehow when I was shopping. He was with another beefy guy. Really buff. He told me that you talk about me to him." He said all of a sudden.

"Oh he said that?" I acted cool. I'm gonna kill my brother seriously. Why is he blowing my cover so much!

"Yup, he also invited me to eat in your house but we didn't talk much because they were catching a movie together. Just a casual meet and greet." Dk said.

"Oh really?" I said.

"Yup. You two look really alike." He suddenly said.

"That's why people call us twins.Yeah but I'm more handsome." I joked and then Dk smiled.

"Much more." He said and I thought he was joking but there was no sign of a joke in his smile. I got a little flustered.

"I was kidding." I said shyly.

"I was not." He said.

"Okay then. We'll go after work." I said to change the topic already and he nodded. If he doesn't have a boyfriend, I would assume he was flirting with me. But I learned not to assume things. I think I did...

"Can't wait." He said and smiled.

After work...

"Good job guys. We'll talk about the sales tomorrow." Our Ceo said as soon as we finished the monthly meeting. He discussed about the quotas and the sales for the month. Fortunately we reached the desired amount so we're gonna have incentives.

"Uhm.. Joshua please stay for a while." He suddenly said as everyone was going out the room.

"Yes sir?" I asked.

"I actually wanted to ask you something. This is not work related so please understand. It's for my son.." he said and I nodded.

"Sure what about him?" I asked.

"Is that Vernon boy his boyfriend?" He suddenly asked.

"Uhmm sir? I'm not the one you're supposed to ask about that. And even if I have any idea, I have no right to tell you whether it's true or not." I said honestly.

"Don't worry Joshua I already know. I don't even care about sexualities. I just want him to be honest to me. I also... I also saw them kissing on my pool. I'm just hurt that he wants to hide their relationship to me. " He suddenly said. And he looked sadder.

"Sir, tell him that. Arrange some sort of dinner or lunch. Only the two of you." I said and he nodded.

"Okey thank you so much. Anyway.. how's Dk? Is he any better?" He asked more excitedly.

"Uhm yes. He's getting along with everyone here now sir." I honestly said.

"Good. Good." He said as he nodded.

"Any more things to say sir?" I asked wanting to go already.

"Oh no more no more. You can go. Sorry for the interruption. Oh sir now that it's just us alone, can I ask why you like Dk so much?" I suddenly asked.

"Oh he's kind of like a lucky charm." He suddenly said and I looked at him.

"That's all?" I asked.

"That's it. And more but you don't need to worry about that. Just train him like I trained you." He suddenly said.

"Sir I trained myself." I told him and he laughed.

"True, I was just bragging a little." He said and went out the room laughing. He's definitely crazy. I got back to the office to see Dk already ready.

"Let's go?" I asked him and he smiled and nodded. I took my car and he immediately sat on the passenger seat.

"You know what?" He suddenly asked as I drove to the supermarket.

"Hmm?" I asked.

"I think I'll get some squid for Dino." He suddenly said.

"He likes that?" I asked.

"It's his favorite. How about you? What's your favorite food?" He suddenly asked.

"Did you just share that info on your brother so that you can ask me my favorite food?" I asked and chuckled. I could see his face reddening. Looks like I hit the mark.

He covered his face and I laughed.

"It's pasta. I like pasta, or some king crab. Some of my guilty pleasures." I answered him and he looked at me.

"Then let's make pasta." He suddenly said.

"You know how to cook?" I asked.

"Well I can learn. I do try to cook sometimes. I learn pretty quickly." He bragged and I smiled.

"When do you plan to make pasta then?" I asked him.

"How about this Saturday?" He asked and I looked at him. It feels like his asking me on a date. JOSHUA! Focus.!

"You seem to have a lot of free time." I commented.

"Well, I'm sorry for not having any plans. If you don't wanna go just tell me." He said and rolled his eyes. Wow he just gave me a whole new emotion. He's too cute. How the hell am I supposed to move on if he does this?!?

"Alright relax. I'll clear my schedule. And here we are. Let's go shopping. " I told him and he smiled automatically as he exited the car.

"So.... Where do we go first—-" Dk's question was interrupted when I saw someone familiar.

"Gyu? Weird . We were just talking about you earlier." I said and then looked at Dk who looks a little annoyed.

"You should really move on from me already Joshua." He suddenly joked but I just realized what he just said. I closed his mouth with my hands and kicked him.

"Ow!" He exclaimed.

"Shut your mouth already. Alright Dk let's go." I said as I glared at Gyu.

"Dk? Oh you're the new guy." He suddenly said.

"Hi, nice to meet you Gyu. You look familiar, How do you know Shua?" He suddenly said using the nickname I told him to call me. Wow is this even the proper place to use that? Gyu smirked after hearing the nickname.

"Oh we're just really good friends. And you remind me of someone I know too. Now that I had a good look at you." Gyu suddenly said.

"Oh really?" Dk said. Then there was silence I didn't know what to say. What is up with the energy between these two anyway. It's like a battle of stares.

"Well, happy shopping! See you when I see you. My boyfriend's waiting in the car." He emphasizes the word Boyfriend in front of Dk and he nodded.

"Bye." I said and he went out. Oh he got a new boyfriend that was fast. I thought to myself. Surprisingly I'm fine with that.

"I don't like him." Dk suddenly blurted out. I looked at him with confusion.

"You literally just met him." I said.

"Yeah whatever." He said and then walked faster. I was confused by his sudden behavior. It's seems like he was sulking. I pushed the shopping cart faster following his pace but he started going faster too.

"Hey, what's up?" I suddenly asked to stop him from walking even faster.

"Nothing. Let's just finish buying everything on that list." He said and I looked at him weirdly. He's acting even crazier than earlier.

He was silent the whole time. I grabbed everything on the list. I even included the squids he said that his brother loved. He was just walking beside me crossing his arms. Looking away from me and playing with his phone. I then looked at the freezer and grabbed two vanilla ice cream.

I paid for everything and then he helped me put the groceries at the back of my car. He was still silent though. I grabbed the ice cream and brought it with me in the car.

"Here eat this." I said as I gave him the ice cream. He held it and opened it right away.

"Okey now that you're fed, tell me what's wrong." I told him and he didn't even bother to look at me. He continued eating his ice cream. Obviously sulking.

"Why didn't you tell me he was your ex?" He suddenly asked and I chuckled.

"Well I didn't know that it was a really crucial information to share." I said and laughed at him. Is he angry because of that? That's not even worth sulking for.

"Stop laughing, it's embarrassing." He said.

"You still like him?" He suddenly asked.

"Not anymore. I have someone in mind but is currently not available." I said honestly and Dk looked at me.

"Is it someone I know?" He asked and I almost laughed. I'm talking about him so Ofcourse he knows him.

"Yup you know him pretty well." I said.

"Oh so in the office. You guys close?" He suddenly said. How is this even a proper conversation.

"I would say so." I said and chuckled. Damn it he's so cute trying to figure it out.

"Dk you're acting jealous." I joked.

"So what if I am?" He suddenly said. I was caught off guard once again. I just looked at him as he ate ice cream. This so unfair he keeps giving me signals I can't respond to! He's got a boyfriend for godsake!"

"Is that how you always are?" I asked him.

"Yup I'm a pretty jealous person, deal with it." He said.

"You must be a handful to your boyfriend." I suddenly said and he looked at me weirdly.

"What the hell are you talking about—-" he suddenly got interrupted by a knock on my car's window at Dk's side.

"Dino?" Dk asked in confusion. I opened the window for him.

"Dk-hyung!!! I'm knew it was you. Oh hi sir!" The kid from outside greeted me and bowed his head.

"What are you doing here? Don't you have class?" Dk asked his brother. Wow they look different surprisingly. I didn't imagine his brother ito look like that. Still the cute genes are winning in this family.

"It's 6;00 Hyung." He said.

"Oh right. Sorry. Well Shua can we bring him with us.? I'm so sorry for asking." He asked.

"Sure no problem. Just stop sulking already. Hop in." I said to Dino and he smiled. T

"Thank you sir, I'm Dino." He said as he reached out his hands to shake mine.

"I'm Joshua. Your brother's boss." I introduced myself.

"Oh really??? Then why are you hanging out together? Oh is this what you call office romance?!?" He asked so suddenly and Dk suddenly slap him in the arm.

"Oh so sorry sir my brother has a really huge imagination." He said and I just laughed.

"He's just helping me out." I said and he nodded. He sure has a lot of questions.

"Oh sorry for him. He's really curious and extroverted ." Dk said.

"No problem. I like him. He seems nice." I whispered to Dk.

"Okey seatbelts on." I said and drove them both to their house. During the car ride, Dino would ask me a lot of things that I would gladly answer. He was a very excited person as well. Just like his brother. Their energy is both unmatched.

"Here we are." I said as soon as we arrived.

"Thank you sir. You are a very fine gentleman." Dino suddenly said and I chucked. Dk was also shocked by how his brother described me. He almost face palm himself. Dino got out of the car but Dk stayed a little.

"I'm so sorry you had to go through that. He's just checking you out. If you're a good person or not." Dk told me and I shook my head.

"I really don't mind." I said honestly.

"I wanted to meet your family anyway." I suddenly said and then his face changed. As if he was caught. Another emotion I have yet to see. Then I realized what I just said. What the hell is wrong with me?!?! Already meeting the family??? I'm more delusional than I think.

"I mean your brothers" I tried to save it.

"Oh my brothers? Well, I don't know if you'll catch my older brother he's out a lot." Dk said and laughed.

"Really? Then I'll be going." I said.

"Thank you for the ride and for entertaining my brother." He suddenly said and then without notice he leaned in and kissed my cheek. I was stunned. I didn't have time to react or say anything.

"Bye!!" He said and ran off to their house closing the door of my car behind him leaving me speechless and motionless.

WHAT THE HELLLLL!!!I don't want to be a person that breaks up a relationship. I need to keep my distance for my mental health as well. Now It feels like I'm a dirty mistress.

The very next day...

I called in sick. That's right I was too coward to avoid or see him. I stayed at home. Overthinking everything.

Then I suddenly got a call. I answered it when I saw the number was Hao.

"Dude I know you're not sick. You don't get sick. What's up?" Hao suddenly said and I almost chuckled.

"I don't wanna see him." I honestly said.

"What? I thought you were moving on already?" Hao said.

"Apparently I can't." I said.

"Damn. He's making you like this? A person that doesn't even skip work even if they are really sick. You are so smitten man." Hao said.

"That's because you keep hanging out with him. Your feelings wont change if you always go out together." Hao said.

"Dude we work in the same office." I told Hao as a matter of fact.

"Oh right. Just stop talking to him about nonsense. All topics should be for work.—-" then I heard the phone being thrown away. I held it farther away from my ear. The scratching sound was awful.

"Joshua!!!! Hao said you were sick!" I heard Kwan talking this time.

"I am so sickkk." I pretended as soon as Kwan was on the phone. I mean he's the som of the boss! What can I do??

"Oh no!!! Are you alone? Is your brother home???" He sounded worried and I got a little guilty about faking.

"Yah he's with me. Don't worry. I'll be back as soon as I can. It's really not that bad anyway. Just a sniffle-" I said to stop him from worrying.

"Alright drink a lot of water! I'll send Nonnon to get you medicine if you need any. He, can be a delivery man if you want" I chuckled at his suggestions.

"There's really no need Kwan- I just need rest that's all" I said.

"Okey call me if you need anything. Every one is worried about you in the office." He said and hung up the phone. I was glad he did because I was already done with lying. Then right this second Jeonghan went inside with his boyfriend this time.

"Oh hi dude" he said as soon as he entered. It's like they both own the house.

"Why are you faking sick?" Jeonghan suddenly asked.

"I'm not faking." I lied again.

"Yeah right. You never get sick." He said.

"You sound like Hao" I told him honestly.

"Well what's the deal?" He suddenly asked.

"I don't wanna see Dk." I told him.

"Yeah that's just stupid. You'll soon need to talk to him anyway, avoiding him for one day can't do you any good." He said and Cheol nodded beside him. It's like they are one person.

"I know but i have no idea how. When I'm with him I feel like we are in our own world then I remember he's taken. But he gives me these signals likr he likes me too. He even kisses me kn the cheeks like the end of the date type. I don't know what to do." I rambled on.

"Dude you sound like a teenager. Why don't you just tell him all that. Fuck his boyfriend. Did he even tell you he has one? So you saw one guy in his apartment, you already jump to the conclusion that he's taken." He told me and I thought about it. He's right I don't know for sure.

"But he didn't deny it too. When I bring it up-" I said and he just rolled his eyes.

"You know what? Invite him. I'll ask him for you pussy." He suddenly said to me and I was shocked.

"Wow you kiss your boyfriend with that mouth?" I jokingly told him.

"Of course. Don't you? Oh right your single and alone. How sadddd." He mocked me ah I rolled my eyes at him.

"Whatever. I can get a boyfriend if I want." I said to him.

"Yeah right. Invite him. Or else I'll be at your office at 7:00 in the morning and invite him myself." He suddenly said.

"Damn it. But I'll invite Hao and Hoshi." I said and he laughed.

"I don't care. I'm just gonna focus of Dk." He said and I got scared.

"Don't do something weird please." I said and he laughed again. Like the laugh with sinister plans. I got chills.

"Yeah sure." He said and went out of my room.

The day went on normally. I spent my time just in bed thinking of ways to avoid Dk but mostly just thinking about him the whole time. I must really like him.

Then Jeonghan told me that he was going to Cheol's bar. I stayed at home and he just gave me instructions about the food they just made while I was busy watching one piece.

"Heat it if you get hungry." He shouted as soon as he was outside the house.

"Sure! Make good choices!" I shouted back.

Then I continued playing with my phone and watching a anime.

After a few minutes the doorbell rung. I went down with my pajamas and my sandwich and the turned on the video camera in the front door.

"What's he doing here?!?!?!" I panicked when I saw Dk standing outside my house. The hell???? And why is he bringing that big croissant waiting for me to open. He also brought a big bag with him the hell??
