Fourteen

Piper glanced over towards Yoongi as he seared some food in a pan. She continued to grate some parmesan before popping it into a small bowl.

"Do you think she'll be back down in time for dinner?" Piper asked as she wrapped up the rest of the cheese.

"That's her problem, I'm not waiting to eat." He chuckled a little mischievously as he looked at her. 

Piper giggled as she shook her head.

 She glanced towards the backdoor as it was opened ajar to cool the kitchen air, but a draft was making it's way in. She folded her arms across her chest as she watched Yoongi cook. 

"It's been a while since we had your cooking, you've always been a good cook." Piper commented.

"You think?" Yoongi smiled at her.

"Yeah! It's...cool to see." She told him.

"Thank you." He chuckled, as he turned to her. 

"You staying over tonight?" He asked her.

Piper nodded. "Naomi asked. I should've brought some other clothes around..." She glanced towards the door again.

"Are you cold?" Yoongi asked.

"No, no don't worry I'll close it when we're done." Piper sighed.

Yoongi looked down the hall towards the front door before he nodded. "Wait, hold on - " He trailed off as he disappeared out of the kitchen. 

Piper frowned as she walked over to the pan that was sizzling away. She lifted the wooden spoon and stirred the food. After a moment, Yoongi appeared from the basement again with one of his hoodies in his hands. 

"I promise, it's clean." He chuckled, handing it to her. 

Piper stared at the black hoodie in front of her.

"Honestly, I'm fine - " 

"Piper." He nodded. "I'll get it back later." He then smiled, shrugging.

"Okay, thank you." She smiled as she carefully took it from his hands, and threw it over her head. 

Yoongi cleared his throat as he turned to the food cooking before he looked back at Piper to see her standing. The sleeves hung from her hands and the hem at the bottom almost ran past her knees. As she looked up at him, she frowned and Yoongi burst out laughing.

"Oh wow, this is great." Piper mocked a little.

She was half serious.

"Aw, come here..." Yoongi chuckled as he pulled at the sleeves and started to fold one up for her. 

"I feel ridiculous." Piper quietly told him. 

"You're cute, be quiet." Yoongi told her with a grin, as he started folding up the other sleeve.

"Shut up, I'm not." She looked away from him and sighed. "Feel like a child, getting patted down by a parent." She admitted, but soon regretted it as the words came out of her mouth.

Yoongi stopped fiddling with her sleeves as his face fell serious. 

"Is that what you think?" He asked. 

"...You're just doing what a brother would do." She cleared her throat and shrugged. 

Yoongi furrowed his brows together at her response. "I'm doing it, because I care." He nodded.

"Exactly. There's nothing wrong with that." Piper looked up at him. "The things you do, how you take care of things...buying me food, you'd do the same for Naomi." 

"Yeah...but - " Yoongi began before he sighed. "I'd do anything for you girls, but don't get my intentions mixed up between you two."

Piper looked up at him. 

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"Mimi's my sister. You're not. My feelings differ..." 

Piper frowned a little confused. 

Yoongi looked back down at the Piper's sleeves he was still fixing, before he softly sat his hands on Pipers. One on top and one under, sandwiching hers between his.

Piper's knees weakened a little as her stomach dropped. She was officially lost for words. 

She then began to feel hot sparks hit her skin, as she reacted and pulled her hands away from Yoongi. "Ow!" She exclaimed turning away from the pan of food as the sparks of fat fired out at them.

"Oh. Oh! Too hot!" Yoongi quickly grabbed the handle from the heat of the hob and sighed as he shook his head.

"Are you okay?" He asked Piper, reaching out his free hand.

"I'm fine." Piper took a step back. She gave him a small smile before she turned around and cleared her throat. "I'm going to throw the pasta in the water now." She changed topics as she grabbed a handful of spaghetti.
