Chapter 1
20:11, 21 May 2014Chapter 1: The Auditions
*Brianna's POV*
"Hi, I'm here to audition for the role of Rosie," I said to the man at the desk and smile. He looks up at me, just now acknowledging my presence.
"Okay, go sit over there by where that other man is sitting." He said pointing behind me, then going back to typing on his computer. Rude.
I nod and walk towards where he pointed then sat down. The man next to me was tying his shoe, and I'm trying not to look at his butt (guilty).
"Some people need to learn how to smile," I mumbled.
"I agree," the man said, sitting up. I look up at him and look at his face. I could've sworn I've seen him before.
"Oh my God! Your Sam Claflin." I exclaim, looking at him wide eyed. He sighs, most likely tired from seeing another 'fangirl'
"Yeah, that's me," he said and gave a small forced smile. I frown.
"Do you not like being famous?" I ask curiously. He obviously gets annoyed by all the attention some time.
"No of course I do," he says and sighs. "It's just...gets overwhelming, you know?"
I shake my head, and shrug.
"Nope, I'm not famous so I wouldn't know," I said joking, attempting to cheer him up. He smiles.
"Ha, I guess you're right." It's silent after a while.
"You know," I started and chuckled. "I used to fangirl over you all the time when I was younger." I admitted and blushed a bit.
Sam looked up and smirked.
"Well, I knew my fans were pretty and all...but I didn't know they were beautiful." He said and smiled cheekily.
"Someone's a flirt," I said rolling my eyes and smiling. He chuckles.
"So what's your name?"
"Brianna," I say. "But you can call me Bri." I added.
"Well Bri, your tag on your dress is sticking out. Do you want me to rip it off?" Sam asks. I shake my head.
"No..no thanks. I have to return it after this audition. I can't," I pause. "I can't afford this dress." I admit and frown.
"Well-"
"Sam Claflin, it's your time." The man in the back said. Sam smiled apologetically at me then stood up.
"I'll see you later," he paused. "Bri," he added. I smile and wave.
"Good luck on your audition," he added and walked away.
I sit there twiddling my thumbs for a while, when I hear my name being called.
Sam's audition was fast. I wonder if he got the part. He must've since it barely took any time.
"Brianna Schap for the role of Rosie," the man at the desk called.
I stand up from my seat and walk towards the door that Sam previously went through.
While I was walking the door opens and you'd never believe what happens.
Sam comes out of the door and runs straight into me.
I fall back, of course, but Sam luckily catches me by holding my waist.
At least I didn't fall.
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry!" I exclaim. Oops.
"Don't worry about it," he says and smiles at me. I stare up at him for a moment and I don't know why...but I can't seem to take my eyes off his.
That's until someone coughs and we break eye contact.
"Sorry again," I say sheepishly and then blush. How embarrassing. I sit up and remove his arm from my waist, then run off through the door, avoiding him.
"Good luck," I hear Sam say from behind me, which makes me smile.
I walk into the room and there's a man who looks around his mid-thirties.
"Okay, turn to act 4 on page 10" he says and hands me a booklet that has the script. I quickly turn through the pages until I find the one.
"Okay...begin," he says and studies me while I act.
I take a deep breath. I look down at the script and quickly memorize it. I nod when I'm ready.
"But sir, what if they find out?" I start, then whisper the next part. "About who actually killed her."
"I don't know Rosie, run away I guess." The director says, saying the lines of 'Charlie'
We pause for a moment, as if I'm thinking.
"No,no." I said while shaking my head. "We need to do something!"
"Rosie-" the director starts, but I interupt.
"No! We need to either do something about it or I'm telling the police." I say fully getting into the character. The director is silent for a second.
"Okay that's enough, thank you Miss." He says and nods towards the door.
Crap I did bad didn't I? Ugh, the way he said it doesn't sound to good. What did I do wrong?
I really want this part..
*Alex's POV*
Hours of serving bossy and grumpy customers; done.
I don't know if I should be thankful...or sad.
Sad because now it's time for my audition. I mean, it wouldn't hurt to try out, I won't actually make it anyways. Especially since there are a lot of experienced, famous actresses that could take my place.
I walk towards the door and wave to Sarah (my co-worker). She waves back and I leave to go to the audition place.
Brianna has the car so I have to walk there. Even though I don't know where 'there' is.
I walk for a while hoping I'm going in the right direction.
Who would've guessed I did go in the right direction? Well I did, for once. Just my luck.
I see a huge building, which is the address for where I'm suppose to go. I walk in the door and there's a man sitting at the desk typing away on his computer.
"Excuse me, I'm here to audition," I say to him and he looks up at me.
"Go sit over there by that guy and wait until your name is called." He said bored. Wow, does everyone here hate their job?
The man then goes back to typing on his computer. I bet he's secretly watching porn.
I walk over, next to the guy he pointed to and I looked at him. He has black hair and blue eyes.
Holy shit, it's Logan Lerman.
He looks up at me and smiles.
"Hi, I'm Logan," he says and holds out his hand. I shake it.
"I know," I said. I then cover my mouth with my hand.
"Shit sorry, that sounded stalkerish." I mumbled and pulled my hand away. He chuckled.
Logan Lerman chuckled because of me. Oh my Lord.
"That's fine, what's your name?" He asks smiling.
"A...Alex," I said and my jaw dropped. Logan Lerman knows my name now.
"Are you by any chance...Alex Hudson?" He asked looking down at his paper. I wonder why he has that.
"Yeah." I said raising an eyebrow.
"We are doing our audition together," he explained while smiling. Wait what.
"Wha- why?" I ask confused.
"You say the girl line, I say the boy line. We are auditioning at the same time." He said chuckling.
"Oh," I said understanding.
"Alex Hudson and Logan Lerman, it's your time." The man said.
I stand up with Logan behind me, and we start walking towards the room we audition in.
I hope he's not looking at my butt. I'm not that comfortable with that.
"Hello Miss Hudson, I'm John Christopher." The director introduces. I nod as a greeting. He looks at Logan.
"Hello Logan, nice to see you again," he says.
"You too, Sir," Logan says and nods.
"Anyways, let's start," John says and hands us the scripts. "Scene 8, page 103."
I quickly study my script and it takes a while for me to memorize it, but I do eventually. I wait for Logan to start.
"But Liz, can't we take a break?" He asks whining a bit.
"No." I reply. "We need to figure out who killed my sister!"
"But we've been searching foreeeever, can't we just call the police or something?" Logan asks, pouting.
"No we need to figure this out on our own," I tell him.
"But-"
"No 'But's Tristan!" I interupt.
"You said butt-"
"You are so immature! C'mon, we might find some clues or something," I say rolling my eyes.
"This isn't CSI," Logan mumbles.
"Hush it, or I'll slap you on the....arm." I say and turn away from him.
"Ooooh I'm so scared!" Logan teased. I glare at him.
"YES! THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! I think we've found our Elizabeth." John exclaims excited. Logan looks up and smirks at him. I just glared, no need to make a big deal.
"Yes Logan, and our Tristan." John adds. I frown.
"I-I got it?" I asked in disbelief. John nods while grinning. Then my frown turns into a smile.
"I got it? YES I GOT IT!" I said smiling widely. I then start jumping up and down clapping my hands. "YES!"
I look over at Logan and he smiles then holds out his hand. I hold up my hand and he high fives it. I'm fine for a few seconds, then I gasp.
Holy shit, Logan Lerman have me a fricken high five. I need to brag to Brianna.
"Well you are the female lead and I'm the male lead, so that's something to brag about too." Logan tells me, smirking. My eyes widen.
"I said that out loud? Crap, I'm such a loser!" I say embarrassed. I cover my face with my hands.
"I will call you when we rehearse the first scene. That copy of the script is yours. You should look it over." John said and smiled. I nod and wave goodbye.
"Time to call the people who got their roles," I hear John say.
I start walking out of the room and to the road to walk home.
"Wait Alex!" I hear a voice from behind me. I turn around and see Logan running towards me.
"Yeah?"
"You aren't a loser, everyone acts like that around me." He says and smirks.
"Wow, cocky much?" I ask. So much for nice Logan. I then walk away. I take my phone out of my pocket and call Brianna.
"I WAS JUST ABOUT TO CALL YOU!" I hear my best friend yell from the other side of the phone.
She sounds like she has been crying.
