Part 8

"I'm happy that you're trying your best to remember anything, Bucky" I said while wrapping my wound with fresh cloth.
"That's because you are helping me. I owe you a thing, Hayley" his eyes are becoming my favorite color.
It has been two weeks since I stayed here, two weeks with this man. The progress is slow yet I'm glad he helps himself, that's what I like about him, too determined and smart. Anyway, Rebecca just told me that he had received a letter from my job that I was already terminated, what else do I expect? A promotion? To be honest, I really hate having that job. I rather find another one than staying there.
I drank the pill which Bucky gave me, it helps to subside the pain, as I was told. He's becoming soft and to my surprise, I sometimes see him smiling. Our conversations, too, is in a progress state. He's not that cold anymore.
"Hey, where are you going?" I asked him as he pulled his jacket on before walking out the door.
"Basement"
"There's... there's a basement here?" how could this apartment has a basement?
"No, not here"
Oh, okay.
"Can I come?" or at least have someone to talk to.
At first, he was hesitant but nodded after a moment.
"So, what do you do in that basement? Where is it?" I asked him again.
"Two blocks away from here. It's not a real basement, it was an abandoned training facility" he looked at me for a while and returned his attention to the road.
It's nearly dark and the streets are slowly getting lighted by the buildings around. People pass us by, horns of cars became a music to my ears.
"Is that your favorite place here?"
"I don't know, I just like it when I stay there. It helps me breathe" he helped me climb a short stair as he followed behind. He switched on the light and I gasped from what I saw. A boxing ring and some gym equipment on the other side.
"I see the reason why, Bucky" I chuckled.
"Yeah" was that all he said and he quickly wrapped his hands with straps.
