Part 3
10:48, 1 July 2019I looked at the clock across the room and it was eight in the morning.
Rebecca is now literally mad at me. I'm sure she started contacting whoever she knows where I am. So, I quickly looked for my phone and got a bunch of missed calls and messages. Great! Now I'm gonna make a call and surely hear her yelling voice.
"Hello?" I said.
"Damn you, Hayley! Where the fuck are you?.........." and so there she is. I never payed attention with her rants tho. I know I made mistake, but what do I do? I nearly died.
"I'm sorry, okay? I'm... I'm alright, don't worry. I'm at my friend's house and I just found my phone right now, you know, I was drunk and forgot everything" I lied. Don't blame me for what I just did because I don't want her to be worried about me.
"Hayley, come home right now. You've been gone for— "
What if she sees my wound? Now, I have to hide for a while.
"Rebecca, I'm totally fine and I really wanted to come home but.... I just can't, I'm.... I'll be home when I'm good, I just have something to look at for a while. Don't look for me, really. I miss you and I love you, Reb. Take care, okay? Bye"
Now what?
Grabbing my thoughts back, my feet lead me to look for this man who, maybe, the one who saved me from death. And I found him sitting around his kitchen table.
"Hi" I said grabbing a sit just opposite to him.
He looked at me for a second and went back on staring at his steaming coffee.
I really wanted to ask him everything that I need to know but at this moment, maybe I'll just stop an attempt. He looks very cold too as if he spent his whole life being alone. His shoulder length hair is framing his face from seeing him clearly. I just watch him drink his coffee and let myself being swallowed by so many thoughts of who is this man and why did he save me?
