Chapter 17: 𝑆𝑚𝑖𝑙𝑒 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑚𝑒... 𝑝𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑒

𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗶 𝗣𝗢𝗩:

Around 7 pm, I was still at my office trying to sort out some files, the job is fine but the only thing I hate about it is that I have to be greeted by some lunatic, with her big glasses looking like Dexter from Dexter's Labratory tch, she doesn't even work here wtf.

"𝐋𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐈𝐈𝐈𝐈 𝐈𝐈𝐈𝐈𝐈!!"

Tch, here comes four eyes.

"𝐋𝐄𝐕𝐈!"-Four eyes yelled

"𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥?"-I asked while glafing at her

She rolled her eyes

"𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧."-She said calmly for once in her life

"𝐓𝐜𝐡, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐭?"-I asked looking away from her long forehead and back to my computer.

I picked up my cup of tea and started drinking it but then I spat it out after hearing what she said.

"𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐠𝐨 𝐨𝐧 𝐚 𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒆?"-Four eyes asked normally

"𝐭-𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭?!"-I asked/yelled

"𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐈 𝐰-𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐠-𝐠𝐨.."-She said while blushing a bit and looking down in disappointment

I sighed

"𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐞, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐚𝐝 𝐮𝐠𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞."-I said going back to my work.

She jumped in happiness and ran out of my office and bumped into a man and started apologizing like crazy, then she ran off.

I tsked, I realised I was smiling a tiny bit and stopped before anyone would see me and make a huge fuss about it.

𝑊𝑎𝑠 𝐼 𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦... 𝑒𝑥𝑐𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑎𝑡𝑒?....

𝗠𝗶𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗮 𝗣𝗢𝗩

Oᴄᴇᴀɴ ʙᴏʏ:𝐸𝑟𝑒𝑛 𝑤𝑜𝑘𝑒 𝑢𝑝.

I couldn't believe my eyes, I had to go see him, I had too, but then I realised that I can't skip school, I groaned and walked out of my house towards my car that I got from Levi, he really was a great father, he may not be my real father but he sure fits the position.

I drove to school, I later arrived and got out of my car and made my way to the school entrance, getting ready for six LONG dreadful hours before I could go see Eren, I sighed and walked in and the day had finally begun.

𝗔𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗢𝗩:

I found out Eren had woken up a week ago, I didn't know because I stopped coming, I thought he would never wake up, I can't believe I couldn't be here for him when he was wide awake and aware of his surroundings, he was probably wondering where his friends we're and why they didn't come this whole week, I mentally facepalmed.

I sighed and continued to listen to the teacher.

~𝑇𝑖𝑚𝑒𝑠𝑘𝑖𝑝~

It was lunch time and everyone was behaving like their usual selves.Connie and Sasha fighting over food as usual but I thought they would stop after getting together.

~𝐹𝑙𝑎𝑠ℎ𝑏𝑎𝑐𝑘~

"𝐵𝑎𝑙𝑑𝑖𝑒 𝑔𝑜 𝑑𝑢𝑑𝑒"-Reiner said to Connie

"𝑆𝑡𝑜𝑝 𝑐𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑚𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑖𝑑𝑖𝑜𝑡, 𝐼 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤 𝐼'𝑚 𝑗𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑣𝑜𝑢𝑠 𝑔𝑒𝑒𝑧."-Connie said annoyed

I laughed and Connie shot a glare at me, I quickly stopped laughing.

"𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑘 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑖𝑠 𝑓𝑢𝑛𝑛𝑦, 𝐼 𝑐𝑎𝑛'𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑖𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑠𝑒𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝐴𝑛𝑛𝑖𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑟."-Connie said smirking while putting his hands behind his head.

I rolled my eyes.

"𝐷𝑜𝑛'𝑡 𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑢𝑏𝑗𝑒𝑐𝑡 𝑛𝑜𝑤 𝐺𝑂!"-I yelled at him which kinda shocked him

"𝑂𝑘 𝑜𝑘 𝑠𝑜𝑟𝑟𝑦, 𝑦𝑒𝑠 𝑚𝑜𝑚 𝐼 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙."-He rolled his eyes and walked over to Sasha

They were too far away for us to hear but we could see Connie sweating like crazy. They continued to talk until I saw Connie kiss Sasha. CONNIE KISSED SASHA ON THE LIPS!

Sasha left and Connie walked over to us. Reiner really asked of it went well, I mean what do you expect from a person that can't even tell who they are sometimes, I rolled my eyes.

"𝐎𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐝𝐮𝐝𝐞.."-I told him, and he just rolled his eyes.

"𝑂𝑐𝑒𝑎𝑛 𝑏𝑜𝑦, 𝑖𝑡𝑠 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑛 𝑛𝑜𝑤."-Connie said smirking

~𝑓𝑙𝑎𝑠ℎ𝑏𝑎𝑐𝑘 𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑠~

I looked over to Annie and she was talking with Ymir, I also noticed Beruteruto looking at Annie, I felt anger rise within me and made my choice. I stood up and walked over to Annie and grabbed her hand and walked out of the cafeteria. I could feel Reiner's and Connie's smirk but I couldn't care less. I dragged Annie outside of the cafeteria.

"𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭."-She asked plainly

"𝐈'𝐯𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐟 𝐲-"- I was cut off my Annie's lips against mine.

She broke the kiss and looked at me with her same nonchalant face.

"𝐈 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐨𝐭."- She said and with that she grabbed my hand and brought me back to the table, she sat down and I sat down at my place.

Connie and Reiner started wiggling their eyebrows up and down. Connie started saying something and I read his lips.

He said: 𝑑𝑖𝑑 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑎𝑦 𝑦𝑒𝑠?

I just nodded, I guess we're a couple now, I smiled to myself and continued eating.

~𝑇𝑖𝑚𝑒𝑠𝑘𝑖𝑝~

𝗠𝗶𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗮 𝗣𝗢𝗩:

School was finally over so I walked over to my car, we had no training today, thank God.

I got in my car and made my way to the hospital, I soon arrived and saw Annie and Armin really to each other, Bertholdt, Connie, Sasha and Jean outside the hospital.

I walked up to them and they all said hi to me, I did the same with a nonchalant face. We we're waiting for Ymir, Historia, Reiner and Aloe Vera.

After a few minutes they arrived and we made our way to Eren's hospital room. Historia knocked on the door and I heard a '𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝑖𝑛'. Historia hesitantly opened the door and we saw Eren sitting on his bed looking out the window. He turned his head towards the others and I and his eyes widened.We all didn't say anything until Historia started yelling at Eren.

"𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐍! 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐈𝐃𝐈𝐎𝐓, 𝐖𝐇𝐘 𝐂𝐀𝐍'𝐓 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔'𝐑𝐄 𝐆𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐂𝐑𝐎𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐃 𝐎𝐑 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐔𝐍𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐒𝐔𝐂𝐇 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐃 𝐕𝐄𝐇𝐈𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐂𝐀𝐍 𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐌 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐔𝐌𝐀𝐍 𝐁𝐎𝐃𝐘, 𝐃𝐈𝐃 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐏𝐀𝐘 𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐈𝐍 𝐒𝐂𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐒 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐃𝐄𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐅𝐎𝐎𝐋, 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐈𝐅 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐃?!"-Historia yelled while crying, she ran up to Eren and hugged and then soon we all joined into the hug.

We stopped hugging and we all started talking to Eren, little by little we started leaving until it was just me and Eren.We we're just looking at each other until Eren spoke up.

"𝐒𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐥 𝐡𝐮𝐡?"-Eren said nonchalantly

"𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐤𝐧- 𝐨𝐡, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐞'𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧'𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮?"-I also said nonchalantly.

He nodded.

"𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐞 𝐮𝐩."-He said plainly

I just nodded.

A few minutes of silence passed until I started crying. Eren took notice and grabbed my shoulders. I just kept looking down to make sure Eren couldn't see my tears.

"𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐚 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠?"- Eren asked me clearly worried

I looked up to him and hugged him tightly, he hugged me back and it felt so good.

"𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐮𝐡? 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐈 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧, 𝐈'𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞, 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭."- I begged him

I broke the hug and looked at him, right into his deep verdant coloured eyes. I could see so much pain in his eyes, I just wondered what was hurting so much. I was about to ask until he grabbed my hand and held it firmly.

"𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐚.. 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐨 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐲, 𝐈'𝐦 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧'𝐭 𝐈? 𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐚, 𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐞... 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞."-He asked with a sad smile.

I looked back down, I even forgot how it felt to smile, I haven't smiled in 11 years.

𝐷𝑜𝑒𝑠 𝑖𝑡 ℎ𝑢𝑟𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑠𝑚𝑖𝑙𝑒?

𝐼𝑠 𝑖𝑡 𝑝𝑎𝑖𝑛𝑓𝑢𝑙?

My thoughts we're interrupted by Eren holding both my hands, I realised it was just him and I in this room, no one else, his soft hands was a reassurance. I was safe.

I hesitantly looked back up into his viridescent eyes and for the first time in a long time, I smiled, at Eren only, I gave him a soft small genuine smile and  I felt so much better, Eren smiled back and hugged me. Did I really deserve Eren?

But oh am I happy to have him, I wonder what I did to get such an amazing friend.
