Chapter 7: 𝐹𝑟𝑒𝑒

It was wednesday so it was 2 days till the sleepover.

Mikasa was still having second thoughts, she didn't want to replace her old best friends who we're murdered in her house. She knew it was all her fault, if she had just listened to her mom, they would still be alive.

"𝑴𝒊𝒌𝒂𝒔𝒂, 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒃𝒊𝒓𝒕𝒉𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒘, 𝒔𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒘 𝒐𝒌?" -𝑴𝒓𝒔.𝑨𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅

"𝑴𝒊𝒌𝒂𝒂𝒂𝒂𝒂, 𝒎𝒚 𝒅𝒐𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒓𝒐𝒌𝒆" - 𝑨𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝒑𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈

"𝑺𝒕𝒐𝒑 𝒃𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂 𝒄𝒓𝒚𝒃𝒂𝒃𝒚 𝒉𝒆𝒉𝒆"- 𝑴𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝒑𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈

"𝑯𝒆𝒚! 𝑰 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑴𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒉𝒑𝒎" -𝑨𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒃𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒅 (𝒘𝒐𝒐𝒇 𝒘𝒐𝒐𝒇)

*𝑓𝑙𝑎𝑠ℎ𝑏𝑎𝑐𝑘 𝑒𝑛𝑑*

Mikasa couldn't think back to that day,, thought they we're only 5 at the time, they we're still so close and had a great bond that couldn't be broken by anything except.... death.

Mikasa shook that thought out of her head and was looking out the passengers window.

She remembered that she still had one good thing in life.

Levi.

"𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗶, 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴."- Mikasa said

"𝗠𝗶𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗶𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴?"- Levi said while looking confused

"𝗻𝗼, 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗶, 𝗜 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹."- Mikasa said while looking out the window with a calm face.

"𝗔𝗵 𝗼𝗸.. 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲, 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗠𝗶𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗮"- Levi said while unlocking the doors.

"𝗬𝗲𝗽, 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗶"- Mikasa said while stepping out and closing the car door shut.

Mikasa walked in the school and the first thing or say person she saw was no one other then Eren.

"𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁?"- Mikasa said coldly

"𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂"- Eren said while scratching his nape.

Mikasa couldn't help but stare at Eren, his beautiful emerald eyes, so captivating, his perfect white and straight teeth, his hair of course, his smile, his g-

"𝗠𝗶𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗮 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲?"- Eren asked while looking at Mikasa

Mikasa shook her head

"𝗮𝗵 𝘆𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘆"- Mikasa said while looking away

The bell soon rang and Mikasa and Eren went their seprate ways

Mikasa walked in the class and looked at the calendar, it was Febrary 8th, tomorrow would be the death anniversary of her friends and parents.

Mikasa shed one tear.

She was so confused on why she was crying so much lately, she never did, not since... what happened that day.

Mikasa kept her head down the whole of registraition until the bell rang.

She checked her timetable and she had Science today aswell with Ms.Hangi, so she stayed seated.

"𝗢𝗸 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁, 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁"- Ms.Hangi said while students from 11B1 were walking in and took their seat and ofc Eren sat beside Mikasa. She wasn't irritated at all.

"𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻"

As he walked in, everyone stared at him as he made his way to the front of the class.

"𝗠𝘆 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗺𝘀, 𝗜 𝗮𝗺 17 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 (𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆)." 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗱

The last name Adams rung a bell in Mikasa.

She then remebered her two friends, Xavier and Sacai 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗺𝘀.

She shook that thought out of her head and thought that maybe he was just some rando with the same last name as Sacai and Xavier.

Daniel took a seat next to Mikasa so now Mikasa was sandwiched by Eren and Daniel.

"𝗛𝗲𝘆"- Daniel said

"𝗨𝗵 𝗵𝗶.."- Mikasa said

Then silence fell between the both of them until Mikasa asked out of the blue

"𝗪𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗫𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗶?"-Mikasa mentally slapped herself after asking that

"𝗡𝗼, 𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝗻𝗼𝘁, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 6 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 7 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗴𝗼 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝘆𝗻𝗻  𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁"- Adams said while staring at Mikasa

Mikasa could only nod

"𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 10 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗦𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗶 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗫𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗲𝗿, 𝘂𝗵𝗺, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘂𝗵, 𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗱"- Daniel said

"𝗜𝗺 𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺?"- Daniel asked

Mikasa nodded

"𝗦𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁?, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗸𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗹 𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺"- Daniel said while gritting his teeth.

He calmed down and looked at Mikasa and couldn't help but to blush. Mikasa noticed this and turned her attention to the teacher.

Eren heard everything Daniel was saying and couldn't help but to feel sad for Mikasa and Daniel but was still irritated that out of all the seats, Daniel sat beside Mikasa.

Soon after a few classes, it was lunch.

Mikasa tried this time to sit by herself but ofcourse Eren caught her hand and dragged her to the table.

Armin was talking about how he was going on a one week trip with his parents to florida for a birthday party and a wedding that was happening.

"𝗛𝗲𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗠𝗶𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗮"- Connie said while fighting with Sasha for a burger.

"𝗛𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀?"-Armin asked

Mikasa dropped her fork and started into the distance while letting out a few tears.

"𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗜 𝗔𝗠 𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗥𝗬, 𝗜 𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗧 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪"-Armin tried apologizing but then Mikasa got up and ran out of the cafeteria.

Eren knew the reason and ran after her.

Mikasa wanted to get as far away from everyone as possible that she didn't even realize that she was outside in the rain.

She stopped to take a breather and then felt something grab her wrist.

She turned around to see Eren holding her with a sad look on his face.

Mikasa removed her hand from his grasp and started crying even more.

"𝗠𝗶𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗮.. 𝗜 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱"- Eren said while holding Mikasa's shoulders.

"𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗘𝗿𝗲𝗻? 𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆?"- Mikasa started while looking into his eyes.

"𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝘀𝗼 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗜 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝗜 𝗱𝗼 𝗜'𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻, 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁, 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗲 𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗡 𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗠𝗘 𝗔𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗔𝗟𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧?!"- Mikasa yelled the last part while sobbing.

Eren looked at Mikasa with a serious look.

Eren sighed and looked at Mikasa right in the eyes.

"𝗜𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁, 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻'𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲"- Eren said sternly

"𝘄𝗵-𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁?..."-Mikasa looking sad and confused

Eren sighed and smiled

"𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻'𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗠𝗶𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗮, 𝘀𝗼 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲, 𝗜, 𝗔𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻, 𝗦𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗮, 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗼, 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲, 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿, 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘁, 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲, 𝗝𝗲𝗮𝗻, 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮, 𝗬𝗺𝗶𝗿 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝗜 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗻𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲"- Eren promised

Mikasa couldn't help but cry, Eren pulled her close to him and hugged her with all his might but not to hurt her though, Mikasa cried on his chest accepting the embrace.

"𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗘𝗿𝗲𝗻, 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗼 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵"-Mikasa said while hugging Eren even tighter

Eren let go after a few minutes of hugging and wiped her tears.

The bell rang and everyone started rushing into class

"𝗟𝗲𝘁'𝘀 𝗴𝗼 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗲?" -Eren said

Mikasa nodded and walked into the hallway and got her textbooks from her locker

Eren smiled at her and walked in, Mikasa sighed and walked in aswell taking her seat.

Few hours passed and it was time to head home.

Mikasa waved goodbye to Eren and walked to the car that had just pulled up.

She got in and strapped her seat belt and sighed.

"𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗠𝗶𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗮."- Levi said while driving

"𝗬𝗲𝗽, 𝗜 𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁"- Mikasa said.

They soon arrived home and Mikasa changed into her pajamas and did all her homework, ordered food once again and watched Attack on Humans until it struck 12 am.

It was the death day of her parents and closest friends, February 9th she sighed and got changed into some casual clothing and went out of her house and walked to the closest cemetery.

She saw someone walking away from a paticular grave that just happened to be her friends grave.

She ignored it and stood before all 6 of the graves.

She sighed.

"𝗜 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗜 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘆𝗯𝗲 𝗘𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗜 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝘂𝘆𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗲, 𝗜 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗮 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲, 𝗜 𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆, 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗯𝘆𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲"- Mikasa said while placing a flower on each grave stone.

She cried silently for a few minutes before getting up and walking back home.

'ℎ𝑒 𝑖𝑠 𝑟𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑀𝑖𝑘𝑎𝑠𝑎...'

Mikasa heard multiple soft voices and turned around to see who it was but she saw no one, she kept replaying what the voices said. She shrugged it off and entered her house and switched off the light and went to bed.
