~Chapter Eleven~

Your parents were fighting again so you decided to head to the monastery for some free time. When the door opened, you smiled when you saw the familiar tin can Zane. "Hey Zane!" You say with a smile as you walk inside. "Hello Chloe. I assume either you're here for Cole or your parents were at it again." He says as he closes the door. Surprisingly, from the many days and weeks you've been to the monastery, you've become real close friends with Zane. "Option number two." You say with a small smile.

Zane frowned and patted your back. "It will get better. They are experiencing a rough time in their relationship. Have patience my friend." "Thanks Zane. So, where's Cole." Zane smiles at you, cole was probably going to come back with something special for you. "He will return. I think you will be very pleased when he comes back." He says before walking away. As you walk to the living room, the front door opens. You turn around and smile when you see Cole closing the door behind him.

"Cole!" You say as you go up to him and give him a hug and a peck on his lips. "Hey chlo!" He says as he picks you up bridal style and brings you somewhere. "Cole, where are you taking me!" You ask chuckling. Cole just smiles and you two are in front of the backyard door. Cole opens it up and brings you outside. You put one of your hands in front of your face to shield your eyes from the bright sun. Cole walks to a tree for some shade and puts you down. "I could have walked myself but you're the one who carried me!" You say and Cole shushes you.

"There's ninja in the house they might be watching keep it down." He says and you just fold your arms. "Why are we out here anyways!" "I was gonna go to your house but Zane sent me a message saying you were here." "But Zane never......Nindroids." You say with a chuckle. "Look, the reason why I can't let them see or hear us is because what I'm about to give you....well let's just say if they heard us, we'd never hear the end of it." Cole explains. Cole reaches into his pocket and pulls out a rose gold charm bracelet. You gasp at its beauty and receive it from him.

"Cole, I-it's beautiful! But sunglasses?" You say looking at the first charm. "From the night on the cove that I told you that I liked you. And also to state that you shine brighter then the sun." Cole says with a smile. You smile back and look at the next charm. "A shield?"

"From that day we first met, when you got kidnapped. And to show that I'll always protect you." "A heart with a lock! Aww!" "That represents my heart, how it's locked." "The key." "Your the key to my heart as cheesy as it sounds but it's true." "And a diamond." "Well, your eyes do sparkle like diamonds and I think you're precious, just like a diamond." Cole says to you with a smile.

"Well no wonder you didn't want the others to hear! You'd get all sweet!" You say and Cole chuckles. You smile and put the bracelet on. "I love it....thank you." You say as you hug Cole and give him a kiss. "I'll never take it off! Well unless I'm about to take a shower, don't want it to get wet ya know! But otherwise I'll never take it off." You tell him and Cole smiles. You peck Cole on his lips and stay in his arms. "You're a sweet, strong, stealthy, idiot and I love you." You tell him. But before Cole could say anything back the ground shook making you and Cole fall to the ground.

"Cole! What was that?!" You ask him. "I-i don't know. C'mon!" He says as he grabs your hand and he brings you back inside the monastery. You two go inside the control room and meet up with everyone else. You all look up at a big screen as Nya explains what's wrong.

"There's been a big explosion down by Borg industries! And it looks like it was set from underground!" She says. "Underground!!?? Who or what the heck could have done that!?" Jay says. "I don't know." "Then we will find out! To the bounty!" Sensei says as everyone except you and Cole run out of the monastery.

"Cole wait! W-what if you don't come back...." You say getting worried. Cole puts his hand on your cheek and looks at you. "Don't worry, I'll be back. Just stay out of trouble while I'm gone. Okay?" He says as he looks into your eyes. "O-okay." You say. Cole then gives you a long kiss on your lips then let's go. He unzips his jacket revealing his ninja Gi under it.

He gives it to you with a smile before putting his ninja mask on and running out of the monastery. You run out of the monastery and watch as the bounty ascends in air. Cole looks down at you from the ship and you look up at him. Zane puts his hand on Cole's shoulder, and the bounty flies away. You sigh, Cole has been on many missions but explosions are very dangerous. Anyone could get hurt.

You look at Cole's jacket in your hands and you hold it tight and go home. The next day you checked your phone to see if Cole texted you or called but there was nothing. You then go to the monastery seeing if anyone was home but, the monastery was empty. You wanted to go to the city to see if you could find him but you knew it wouldn't be safe.

You went back home and put on Cole's jacket and hugged yourself. It had Cole's scent and you smiled. Then you looked down at the charm bracelet Cole gave you and remembered all he had said about it to you.

The following day, the ninja still have not returned yet. You were getting worried. Whoever this bad guy was, he must have been very tough. You were pacing around in your room when you heard tapping on your window. You opened it and Zane's Titanium Falcon flew in your room. He had a pink tulip in his beak and he gestured for you to take it. You smile and take the flower and give it a sniff. Cole knew you liked tulips. Just then the falcon revealed a hologram and it was Cole.

"Hey Chloe! This is a prerecorded message if you're wondering. I asked Zane to send his falcon for me to send you this message and a little gift. Just to let you know, we're okay! But some of us are a little....hurt. But we'll be okay. I hope your doing better then us!" You smile at Cole's hologram.

Cole looked behind him and you saw an explosion behind him, followed by an evil laugh. "Gotta go! Hopefully we'll be back soon. I miss you and I love you!" "If you're done with your love letter, WE COULD USE A LITTLE HELP HERE!!!" Jay yells at Cole and you chuckle. Cole looks behind him again then back at you. "Bye chlo!" He says with a smile and then the hologram was shut off.

You smile, "I love and miss you too. Come back soon buckets..." You whisper. You pat the falcon on its head and thank it. The falcon flaps its wings then flies out of your window. Another day passed and still no ninja. Zane's falcon came in your window in the afternoon again. This time with a purple tulip and another hologram. Cole appeared again and had a worried expression on his face, along with bruises.

"Hey Chloe. This guy isn't making it easy on us. Sensei got caught, Nya got hurt, Jay got hurt, and now Kai... It's up to Zane, Lloyd and I now... Hope we make it. I may or may not send Zane's falcon again, who knows. But we're not giving up! Ninja never quit. I said I'll be back and I mean it. This isn't goodbye." Cole says. "COLE! HURRY UP I CANT HOLD HIM MUCH LONGER!!" Lloyd yells. "Okay, well NOW this is goodbye. I love you. Bye Chloe!" Cole says and the hologram goes away again.

Tears fell from your eyes, you were scared. Scared that Cole would never return. Scared that he'd never be here for you. Scared that he'd never hold you in his arms or kiss you. Scared that you'd be alone. The falcon flew out of your window. The next day you waited. You waited for the falcon. You waited for Cole. You waited for a sign of hope. But all day nothing came. Around night time you were wrapped around Cole's jacket when the falcon flew in your window. But this time, had no tulip or flower of any kind in its beak.

The falcon revealed another hologram, and this time Cole was laying down on the ground. He looked defeated. "Hey Chloe. Got some good news and some pretty bad news." Cole said then coughed and the hologram started to be static. "Good news, Misako mentioned told us a way to defeat this guy, once and for all. S-she said we had to find our true power. Bad news is, we're all defeated and we've digged deep inside us but...none of us have been able to find our true power. Sadly, I-i don't think I'm coming back..." The hologram started to get very static now and tears were streaming down your face.

"C-Chloe, I-i did everything I could. I-I'm sorry...before I go, I-i just want you to know that, I-i love you and I-if I-i don't make it, I'll always be with you...Goodbye, Sweetheart..." Cole says then the hologram goes dead. You fall to the floor and just cry. You had never felt so broken in your entire life. It felt like someone drove a truck into a fragile little china shop. Cole was....gone.
