Running through the dirty corridors, your hand was placed on your gun as it was sitting in one of the holsters. "Come on, guys!" You said loudly while the others were following you.

It was not a pleasant place to be in and you couldn't wait to get out of here. "It's a rescue mission, so keep your eyes open and be cautious. Now, spread out!" They quickly followed your orders as you picked up your pace.

The gun was now tightly gripped by your hand as you took a turn and kept running. "I hate this." Grumbling to yourself, your face was scrunched up while getting rid of the webs in your way.

You loved your job but hated it at the same time. The only reason for the latter one was places like the one you were at now. Underground temples, ruins. Call it what you want.

They were always covered in webs and the smell was horrible. You'd thought that the Avengers and the New York invasion were the most surprising things that could have ever happened in your life.

But this job had been proving you otherwise ever since. Now, you were running into ancient shit all the time and you craved a break.

Your beige shirt might as well be a piece of trash after the little crack in the wall you'd had to go through. It'd ripped your buttons since the space was way smaller than you.

You had literal torches lighting up the corridors you were moving through, feeling like you'd go back years and years back.

Your arm shot up as you rounded the corner and aimed at the person in front of you, ready to shoot. Your body relaxed while your eyebrow quirked at the sight. "Are you okay? Did they do anything to you?" Your best friend was looking over the other person's face as hers was full of worry.

"I'm okay, I swear." The other woman replied with a reassuring smile as your friend kept inspecting and looking for wounds. "Okay, okay. Go to the Quinjet, I got you." Jemma only nodded as her hair bounced before looking to the agent who was standing next to her and making her way out.

"Glad to see you didn't become a mummy." You bowed slightly to the woman as she waved at you on her way. "Glad you're still as charming as ever." She replied amused, receiving a laugh back from you as you shook your head.

When it raised, you directed your gaze at your best friend who was still worriedly looking after Jemma as she rounded the corner. Usually, you would hide your expressions, but this was not one of those situations.

You showed your amusement very clearly while your best friend's eyes kept staring at the now-empty space next to you. She snapped them to you with her face dropping at your smirk. "What?"

The corners of your lips tugged down as you held your hands up. "Nothing, nothing. I just can't get enough of your...friendly gestures."

The girl didn't appreciate your teasing, instead, she used her powers to lightly push you against the wall. You yelped before groaning as your back connected with the hard material. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Oh, come on-" You were cut off when the sound of footsteps started echoing in the place. "Shit!" The gunfire exploded immediately as they entered. You didn't waste your time pulling the trigger like a mad person.

"Coulson really owes me that Tahiti trip now!" You shouted through the noise while taking cover behind a pillar. "I wouldn't say it's his favorite place to talk about!" She replied back with a slight laugh, making you shake your head.

It looked like there was an unlimited number of these people as they kept appearing every second. You shot one, another one came in here running.

"I don't care! I want my me time after this!" Leaving your cover, you shot a few people as fast as you could before getting closer to Daisy. "I will take you somewhere nice, don't worry, you big baby." She breathed out to you before standing up.

Daisy extended her arms forward, blasting the men against the walls and each other. There were more coming your way as you kept using the icer. "Let's go! We need to get out of here!" Your friend shouted at you while you both were walking backwards.

Holding your stance, you kept your eyes on the incoming threats before crossing the entrance to the temple-like thing. "Watch out!" Daisy said to you as her head moved up.

It wasn't long before the ceiling started cracking and falling apart, pieces of concrete dropping on the ground and completely blocking the entrance.

You were just watching as the dust rose up when the enemies' path to you got blocked. "And that's exactly why I always go where you go." You informed your best friend with a little nod of your head.

Her face quickly changed to amused as she raised her eyebrows at you. "So, my powers are the reason why you are a pain in my ass. Good to know."

Patting you on your back and sending you a sweet smile, she walked past you and to the exit as you stood frozen in one place. "That's not nice!" You exclaimed as your head whipped in her direction after you'd analyzed what she'd said.

Gripping the icer, you decided to follow her as she laughed. "I let this piece of art-" You trailed off while gesturing to your face. "Get dirty and scratched for you." She, apparently, wasn't interested in what you had to say as you caught up to her with your words falling on deaf ears.

——

A glass bottle connected with the marble bar top, causing a noise that startled the woman who was lazily leaning on it. Her wide eyes snapped to you quickly before squinting and throwing a hard glare your way.

"You won't charm the lady with your face merging with the bar top." Your smart-ass tone caused your best friend to give you a blank look as you raised the bottle to your lips.

Taking a seat, you sipped on your drink while looking at her from the corner of your eye. "You know? So many ancient ruins and I still haven't managed to lose you in one of them."

You guessed it was supposed to be insulting, however, you didn't take it that way at all. "It's because I'm good at being a pain in your ass, darling." A smug smile found its way to your lips as she rolled her eyes at you before moving her body to make it face the bar wall.

"They really outdid themselves with these bats and webs. They look very real." You said, changing the topic without a warning as you got distracted by your surroundings for a second. With a displeased expression, you poked one of the decorations that was hanging a little above your head.

"And honestly, what is stopping you from talking to her? She seems very interested in...being around you." Daisy's face scrunched up immediately as her cheek was leaning on her palm when you snapped back to the topic.

Confusion was written all over her features while you stared at her, blinking slowly. "What do you mean? We are on the same team, of course, she is around me a lot." Your jaw couldn't drop faster than it did, really.

Eyes almost freezing in place as you kept looking at her blankly. "You're not as dumb as you just sounded, right? Cause you sounded like in denial." Your tongue went to your upper lip as you slowly said the last word.

Your body straightened up while you looked at her like she'd be stupid. "Denial?! You don't even know if she likes girls, dumbass!" She aggressively waved her hand at you, making you lean back as you put the bottle back to your lips.

"Oh, come on!" You said after swallowing your drink and putting the bottle down a little harshly. "Why do you think she rejected Fitz? She does more gay things than you can imagine because you don't want to see it."

She only scoffed at you as your arms spread while turning to her on the bar stool. "You're being ridiculous."

"I'm being ridiculous? You are looking for every possible excuse not to talk to her because you're scared." You told her like it was the most obvious thing in the whole world while nurturing your drink.

Her jaw dropped to the floor as she looked at you with wide eyes. "I am not scared! I'm being realistic." She tried to win the argument, but you'd been at this topic for far too long.

"Darling, your argument is as weak as your legs when you see Simmons." You told her matter-of-factly as your head tilted. Your eyes went to the corners while you looked at her troubled expression.

She stayed silent for a second with her lips pressing together. It was clear she knew that you were right. Ever since you figured out that she liked Jemma, she'd been looking for new excuses just to avoid any type of conversation with her that wouldn't be about work.

Her lips parted as she wanted to say something before they pressed back together with her nostrils flaring. "And not that you need it apparently, but Jemma is going as Velma to the Halloween party."

This seemed to pique her interest when you sipped on your drink again. She sat up straight in her spot while you kept looking ahead. "Really?" Her tone was full of curiosity before her face dropped when you smirked at her.

"Oh, now you'd want to know?" Her eyes rolled at you again before she slapped your arm. "Jesus! Yes, really-"

"Oh! Here is my favorite person." The British accent caused your eyes to widen before you gave Daisy a look that she knew too well.

Ignoring your best friend's signals to shut up, you swiftly turned on your stool and faced the other woman. "Oh, Daisy is pretty amazing, isn't she?" Your friend only chuckled awkwardly as her eyes were glued to Jemma's face already.

Her hand was blindly looking for stability as she couldn't find a position that would be 'cool' enough. You mentally shook your head at her while your lips pressed together for a moment.

"Yes, she is." Simmons said, looking at the other woman for a second with her tongue wetting her lips. "But I was looking for you, actually. I know we just came back from that- awful place, but I was wondering if you could help me with my combat skills."

This couldn't be a better opportunity even if you wanted to. She was building a perfect set up for you to set them two up. "Oh, Daisy will help you." You gestured to your best friend who was dreamily staring at the scientist.

It was before she snapped out of her trance as she heard what you said. "Wait- what?" She was looking at you like a deer in headlights while you kept smiling at Jemma. "She knows everything that is needed for the beginning. Some one on one won't do any harm."

You felt very proud of yourself while Daisy felt very angry with steam going out of her ears. "What?" She repeated harshly as her teeth were clenched before whipping her head to Simmons and sending her a sweet smile.

"She also told me how much she missed you when you weren't here, so I think it will do her some good." You patted the scientist's arm while standing up.

Your eyes didn't dare to go anywhere close to Daisy's face as you could feel her intense gaze burning holes in your head. "Couldn't shut up about it, really." You added in a mumble, eliciting a small giggle from Simmons.

"What?!" Daisy burst out before chuckling anxiously to cover her loud tone as Jemma's head whipped to her. "That's not- I mean-"

"Great! Have fun, ladies." You told them both as you grabbed your bottle from the bar top and headed out. "Just not too much."

You winked at both of them while Daisy's glare could almost kill you with her fist clenched tightly on the marble.

Without looking back, you took another swing, proud of yourself.

——

"Is this good? Does it look good? Oh, my God, this is horrible." You were currently losing your mind just as your best friend was losing hers but for a very different reason.

Leaning on the door frame to her room, you waited for her to calm down while your eyes rolled. She was running all over the place from one drawer to another and throwing pieces of clothing on the floor.

"We will be late." You stated calmly, crossing your arms over your chest while clicking your tongue.

She shot you a quick glare in response, making you look up for a second before sighing heavily. "You look great, come on, your wife will be amazed."

Grabbing her hand, you gently pulled her with you before closing the door and keeping your pace down the hallway. "This is serious! I can't just go there-"

"I thought you didn't care?" Shooting a raised eyebrow in her direction, you gave her a look that made her mouth shut very quickly.

Without further complaints and resistance, she followed you to the party while sending you grumpy looks every now and then. "You should save the looks for Jemma since you like to undress her with your eyes."

The girl's gasp earned you both a few looks from the people that you were passing. Giving them a polite smile, you nodded slightly. "Ow!" Your hand shot up to your arm and gripped it while staring at your friend shocked.

"What was that?!" Stopping in your place, she stood right in front of you with a smart-ass look. Her arms folding over her chest. "You deserved it!"

"I just said the truth! You do it all the time-" She groaned and started walking away, cutting you off in the process. "Wh- Wait!"

You ran after her as she pushed the doors open and you both entered a big room full of people. Skeletons, bats, witches. Any possible decoration you could think of was here. Spider webs hanging from the ceiling, making you shiver at the sight.

"I hate this." Daisy snickered at your disgusted tone as you kept looking up at them. "The webs or the people?"

Your gaze dropped to the girl, staring at her as she was at you. "Both." She chuckled at your response before looking around. "You wanna play some pool?"

Snickering, you lifted your shoulders and gave her a look. "Wouldn't you rather play something else with Simmons?" A slap to your arm let you know she didn't appreciate your teasing before she started heading to the place she just mentioned.

"No need to be rude." You grumbled to her, making her look over her shoulder with an annoyed expression. "No need to be an assh-"

She couldn't finish her sentence when she bumped into somebody. As she stumbled on her feet, you quickly grabbed her arm and pulled her towards you.

"Are you okay?" Concern was swirling in your voice while you tried not to laugh. The look she gave you didn't make it any easier. "I'm so sorry-" She started saying when she turned to the person she almost fell on before stopping in her tracks at the sight.

It was no one else than Jemma dressed as Velma, staring at your best friend with wide eyes as they scanned her body. "I- no, no, it's okay." The girl dismissed after snapping out of her little daze.

Both of her hands tightened their grip on the glass she was holding while she cleared her throat. "You look- look really good." The girl stammered as her eyes were jumping all over Daisy.

"You look great! We're matching well too, Velma and Daphne." Your best friend replied with a happy smile as her eyes were looking deeply into Jemma's, her hands gesturing between them. Simmons chuckled at the words and you tilted your head as you could hear a hint of anxiety in the sound.

"That's- that's amazing- wonderful even!" Her teeth were showing as she kept smiling at Daisy. A smirk started creeping up on your lips when you saw her hands twitch.

She was having it bad. "We were going to play pool, you wanna join?" Daisy asked her as she glanced at you, gesturing with her hand to the both of you.

A drink loosely sitting in her other hand while you waited for Jemma to reply when she looked at you with parted lips. "Oh- I would love to...but I promised Coulson I would explain the new design to him."

Your best friend's face dropped a little as her eyes lowered to her hands. "Well, uh- join whenever you can. You know where to find us." She said as you kept looking between the two, focusing more on the girl with bangs that was anxiously smiling at your friend.

Daisy sent her a tight-lipped smile with a small nod while you saluted lazily to the girl. She smiled at you brightly but as you were passing her, you could see in the corner of your eye how her face dropped.

Glancing over your shoulder when you were a few steps away, you saw her walking off very fast. The pool table wasn't far either, so when you reached it, you put your drink down and grabbed the bills.

"Are you ready to get your ass kicked?" Your best friend asked excitedly with a huge proud smile on her lips. Sucking in a breath through your teeth, you shook your head a little. "I don't think you're ready for what's about to come."

She snorted at you with an unconvinced expression. "But first, let me go get another drink and then the party will start." Adding with a smirk, you quickly raised your eyebrows at her while she waved you off.

Turning around and fixing your ripped pants, you started making your way in the direction you last saw Jemma. Obviously, she wasn't in the same spot anymore, but she wasn't far away as well.

You spotted her standing at the bar as her head was directed down at the bar top. Fingers fiddling with the glass that was placed between her hands. You could see how her eyes were frozen in place when you came up closer.

"Are you alright?" You asked, leaning lower to her ear as you placed your hand on her back, expecting her to jump up at your voice.

And she did exactly that while turning to you with a horrified look, gripping her chest. "Oh, my Lord! Don't do that!" She scolded you with a light slap to your chest while blinking at you.

You chuckled lightly at her response while moving to the side and leaning on the bar top. "So? Are you alright?" You repeated your question while signaling to the bartender for a bottle.

The girl's shoulders slumped down as her eyes fell close. It was clear something was bothering her and you had a pretty good idea of what it could be. "Yes? No? I don't know really..."

She scrunched up her face before rubbing her eyebrow as she mirrored your position. "I just-" You waited patiently with a drink already in your hand, knowing that she needed some time to say what she needed to.

"I trust you, so I know you will not make fun of me, even tho you make fun of everything, really." She began rumbling, slightly offending you if you had to be honest, but you kept listening without interrupting.

"I have felt some...type of way towards Daisy for a while now. And for the most part, it was easy to control and act normal..." You tilted your head forward, sitting down a little on a stool.

"But?" You dragged out the word while she breathed in deeply with her head down. "But today, seeing her in that Daphne costume- I just- Ugh!" She groaned loudly, raising her head to the ceiling as you chuckled to yourself.

Sucking in your lips and releasing them, you made a smacking sound. "So what you're saying is that you had a little bit of gay panic there." You calmly told her but with a very amused face.

She groaned again upon seeing your expression and slapped your arm again. "What is with you lesbians hitting me all the time?" Your eyebrows scrunched as Jemma looked at you confused before shaking her head.

"You were supposed to help me, not laugh at me." She scolded you, pointing a finger at you with a serious face. "You both are useless lesbians, honestly. Just talk to her."

You gestured in the direction of the pool table where your friend was while looking at Jemma. She was just staring at you, blinking repeatedly before bursting out with a laugh. "Oh, yeah, just talk. And what? Maybe tell her how I feel? Yeah, sure."

She leaned on the bar top with her back while looking around before her eyes found you again. Seeing your blank expression, her face dropped as she realized you were not joking. "Are you mad?! I can't just tell her!" She told you in a squeaky harsh tone, waving her hands at you.

"Then how do you want her to know?!" You asked in the same tone, mirroring her movements. Her eyes squinted at you as you kept staring without backing down. "Go, Jemma Simmons. Right now. Go get your wife."

Your finger was jabbing at the wood as your eyes looked at her with determination. "Why are you even a-" You got up from your seat and twirled her around before pushing her by her back.

"Y/n! What are you doing?" She asked as you kept walking with her. Trying to look over her shoulder was a little troubling as she didn't want to bump into anybody.

She was sending people apologetic smiles as you were pushing your way through them before reaching the pool table area. "Y/n-"

"I'm back! I have company too!" You announced yourself, causing Daisy to turn around. Her face lighting up at the sight of Jemma before a huge smile spread across her lips.

"I see you changed your mind." Your best friend said happily with a small smirk that didn't go unnoticed by you.

"That I did...apparently." Simmons mumbled the last word while throwing you a hard glare that you decided to ignore.

You clasped your hands and looked at the girls with a tight-lipped but excited smile. "Let's go then." Grabbing the cue sticks, you gave Jemma one as Daisy was already holding hers.

"So, what are the bets?" Your best friend asked, fixing the bills on the pool table. You only directed your gaze at Simmons, waiting for her move. Hoping it would be the move.

She glanced at you nervously and you gave her a small encouraging nod. Clearing her throat, she fiddled with her cue stick before looking up and moving along the table. "If I win, you owe me a date." Her nonchalant voice surprised you.

Just as it surprised Daisy, causing her to look up in shock at what the other girl said. She glanced at you quickly to make sure she heard right as Jemma kept acting like it was no big deal.

A smirk sneaked onto her lips as she started slowly standing straighter. The look she gave Jemma was something you wished you'd never seen.

"We have a deal then."
