Chapter 6 : Talis and Enforcers

Jayce sits at the council's desk alone, his thoughts all conflicting each other. "It's only one person, for the lives of others." "Give our citizens up, am I insane." Jayce slams his fist on the desk looking over the pictures of the hole, "This could start a war." He placed his hand on his forehead holding it up, "It's for the greater good, she's also killed people." Jayce says standing up walking around the table trying to convince himself that it's the right decision."So no others get hurt." He says to himself walking out of the room leaving the papers on the desk. Powder braids her hair looking into her bathroom mirror, already dressed for the day she finishes the tips of hair braids before walking out of the bathroom. Ekko sits in the window seal as she walks out, "So, you gotta go already?" She says walking to the window, "Yeah, it's busy when you lead the Firelights," Powder nods, waving goodbye as Ekko jumps out the window onto his board.

Knock Knock Knock. Powder turns looking at the door, walking over to it she opens it up. Vi stood there, walking into the room she held Powder by her shoulders guiding her to the bed. "Powder you need to listen to me." Powder looked at Vi confused nodding her head, "Whatever happens please ju-" She stops looking down at the ground, "What's gonna happen Vi?" Powder says in a worried tone."Listen, please just do what they tell you, I don't want you to get hurt." Vi looks up at Powder tears flowing down her face. Powder looks distressed seeing Vi cry, "What's going on?" She says jumping off the bed worried, "We tried to stop them, just listen to what they say. Please." Vi begs Powder, "What the fuck is happening." Powder says looking around confused. "The Enforcers, they-. Want to take you to the Undercity, I don't know why." Vi stands up as Powder looks terrified, "I thought I was safe here."Vi holding back the tears wraps her arms around Powder. " Powder pushes her off of her, "They're going to take me?" She says as her knees shake violently. "You, you- Powder can barely make words just as two Enforcers step through the door rifles in hand. "Come on kid." One of them says looking at Powder, "You son of a bitch." She says angrily to herself. "I'd rather die than go with you!" The Enforcers grip their rifles pointing them at her."No one needs to get hurt." One of the Enforcers says as they slowly approach Powder. Powder closes her eyes taking a deep breath, opening her eyes as the air exits her mouth she pounces towards the Enforcers, Jinx grabs one of the rifles punching other's head knocking them out. "Powder!" Vi says running towards Jinx. Jinx thrusts the butt of the gun into the other Enforcers face before aiming the gun at Vi.Vi stops as she points the rifle at her. Jinx begins laughing as tears start to flow out of her eyes, "WHY?" She yells at Vi, her voice cracking near the end. "Powder I didn't want this, please-." She interrupts, "Shut UP! I'm done with your excuses, how many are there?" Vi sighs, "I don't know, just the fact the Councilor is there. Jinx laughs slowly walking out the door still aimed at Vi. "Where's my gun?" Vi looks down at the ground, "They're in Caitlyn's closet." Just then Jinx sprints away towards Caitlyn's room, Vi sighs running out towards the main hall.Jinx opens Caitlyn's closet grabbing all of her weapons, "They wanna do this to me, I was right. Why did I have to be RIGHT?" Picking up Pow-Pow Jinx walked through the hallway making her way to the top of the stairs of the main hall staring down Jayce. Vi, Caitlyn, and Jayce stood there with 4 Enforcers. Jayce turned looking at her, grabbing his hammer and activating it. "Put down the weapons." He said, staring Jinx in the eyes."All of you just want to ruin my life, well now I'm gonna ruin yours." Jinx begins revving Pow-Pow, "Powder, stop." Vi says yelling up to her sister. "Shut the FUCK up!" Jinx yells back at her aiming Pow-Pow at Vi. "I'm sorry jinx but SIlco wants you back and I'm not willing to start a war with him over you." Vi and Caitlyn look at him stunned. Jinx laughs, "Really? That's why you're doing this, for him." Jayce looks down and back up to Jinx, "I can't risk my people's lives for you, especially when you've killed those people." Jinx closes her eyes looking away from him, "You, don't understand." She says to herself under her breath. "I do understand that you're a killer, and if it were up to me you'd be in Stillwater but Silco wants you." A tear drops from Jinx's eyes as she turns back facing him. "No, you don't. I was abandoned and hit by my sister." Powder drops Pow-Pow as it rolls down the stairs. "And Silco took me in, he made me kill all those people. For that stupid Gemstone, WHICH. I Gave back to you." Jinx begins sobbing at the top of the stairs, "I found love and happiness for the first time in my life and you TAKE it away!" Jinx stares at her, guilt washed over him. "AND YOU, and your fancy ass hammer want to take it, and give it back to the person who made the calls for those people to die."Jinx laughs holding her head with her hands, "You are the real people that should be in Stillwater." Jayce sighed putting down his hammer, just then the two Enforcers from earlier walked down another set of stairs behind Jayce. "Let's go." He said, turning to pick up his hammer followed by the Enforcers. Jinx wiped away her tears still staring at Vi and Caitlyn, her face filled with rage, "Powder, please I can explain." Caitlyn said, looking up at Jinx.Powder's face looked tired, the angry look on her face died as she looked over at Caitlyn, Powder began walking down the stairs walking past the two sitting down on the couch next to the stairs. Caitlyn walked over sitting onto the couch pulling Powder in for a hug, Powder just sat there clearly tired. "I don't wanna go." Powder nuzzled herself into Caitlyn as tears rolled down her face.Caitlyn rubbed the back of her head softly, "You're not going anywhere." Powder closed her eyes as she wiped away her tears, pulling away from Caitlyn Powder would stand up walking out the front door leaving Vi and Caitlyn. It began to rain hard as she picked up her umbrella which sat outside. Putting it above her head Powder walked down the stairs of the Kirraman Estate, her makeup was ruined and her face stained with a saddened face.Walking down the sidewalk for a good mile Powder would reach the bridge, walking around the hole just barely making it she'd walk to the front of the Undercity, walking through the streets of the cleaner side Powder would walk into a alleyway, just then she heard a noise coming from a big sewer drain. So big that she could walk in it, stepping closer and closer she heard the faint sound of children.Stepping in out of curiosity Powder traveled the sewer lines following the voices, eventually she made it to an end where light shined through, stepping to the edge she looked down gasping at the sight. Looking down she saw a massive tree sitting in the middle of this sewer. She was around the height of the top rooms of the tree. People flew on their boards around the tree while others sat talking. "The Firelights." She said to herself gripping the end of her umbrella.Looking around she laid eyes on Ekko who was walking through the grass watching the children. Looking directly below her Powder saw a little hut attached to the outer wall, hopping down she hid in the building finding a giant jacket with a hood. Setting her umbrella down she put on the coat walking down a stairway that led down to the grass.Tucking her braids in the massive hood she walked around the green grass as she looked around, a massive amount of guilt laid on her shoulders as she watched the children play. Walking over she looked up in amazement staring at the mural with people's faces. She stared at herself, a younger version of herself stood glowing in the sun along with Vi, Claggor, Mylo, and all the others she had lost.A tear formed in her eye as she heard someone walk up to her. "So, you lose someone too?" Powder froze, "Um, yeah." The person beside her sighed, "It can be rough but we just need to keep pushing." Powder turned, looking at the person, "Ekko?" She whispered. Ekko looked over his face filled with shock, "Powder? What are you doing here?" Powder shrugged, "Not sure, I kind of just found this place."Ekko pulled her by her shoulders into the same room Scar had brought him to. "You really need to hide this place better." Powder said taking off the jacket. Ekko sighed, "What're you doing here?" Powder shrugged, with a sigh, "Enforcers came to my house to arrest me or something involving SIlco." Ekko gasped, "Silco? And the Enforcers again?" Powder nodded, "And a councilor was there." Ekko walked up to Powder standing in front of her. "At Least you're ok." He pushed to hair dangling in front of her face behind her ear.Powder looked up at Ekko with a faint smile, "I love you Little Man." She said staring into his eyes, her face looked exhausted from all the crying along with her mascara running down her face like black tears. "I love you to Pow," Ekko reached his head down kissing Powder on the forehead before lifting it back up. "You need a place to sleep?" Powder looked up at him sighing. "No thanks, I've gotten used to the fancy beds. They're a lot more comfortable."Ekko nodded, "True, true. How about I come by your place and we can maybe hangout." Powder smiled, holding onto Ekko's plate, "I'd like that." Raising one of her hands behind Ekko's neck, Powder pushed herself off the ground connecting her lips with Ekko's holding herself in place. Letting herself fall back down she tugged on Ekko's belt giggling, turning and walking over to her coat she threw it on. "Well, I should get going." Ekko nodded, walking over to the door opening it for her.Powder looked around for anyone as she climbed up the pipe throwing her umbrella before pulling herself up, walking into the dark sewers she skipped around with a smile on her face.
