Chapter 5 : Hole in the Bridge

Powder walked towards the entrance of the mansion pushing open the big door she walked down the stairs leading to the gate. Opening the gate she walked down the sidewalk, making her way to the bridge she was met by Enforcers stopping her from going near it. Walking away she looked through the crowds of Enforcers seeing the hole. Feeling a tap on her shoulder she jumped looking around lifting her hands up ready to fight."Sup." Powder let her guard down as her heart thumped in her chest a million miles a minute. "Hi Little Man." Ekko smiled looking as Powder caught her breath. "So, you got plans for today?" She looked at him, she smiled standing full up. "I like the suit." She said, pulling on his tie. "Thought I might meet your standards today." A smug smile crept across his face. "Sure." Powder rolled her eyes laughing at him."I did have one plan," Ekko looked down at her, "I was going to investigate that." She turned, pointing towards the hole in the bride. "Do you know who did it?" Powder turned back around, "Silco did, well that's what witnesses say." Ekko, shocked ,opened his eyes, "Silco? Didn't think he had the balls." Powder turned back around rubbing her chin, "He doesn't, unless something urgent has happened." Powder sighed, turning back to Ekko, "He's after me." Ekko raised his hand softly against her cheek, "No one will ever get you." Powder rubbed her cheek into Ekko's palms before grabbing his hand. "So, you still haven't talked to Vi." Ekko sighed, "Well I have been following her." Powder rolled her eyes."That's not the same, c'mon." Dragging him behind her as she ran down the sidewalk. Walking into the main hall Powder saw Caitlyn and Vi sitting on the couches talking. Powder dragged Ekko over, "Hello." She said, the sound of joy came out as she spoke. Vi looked up seeing Ekko. "Little Man?" Ekko rubbed the back of his head, "Yeah." Powder shrieked watching them talk. Caitlyn just sat confused.After about an hour of Powder forcing the two to talk she dragged Ekko off to her room. Vi sighed, placing her hand on her forehead. Caitlyn giggled watching Vi, "You don't know how it feels to be years without Powder and to suddenly get her back." Caitlyn stops laughing looking down at the ground. Powder walked into her room with Ekko, "I'm surprised you haven't littered the walls with your neon markers yet. Powder looked over to him as she sat on her bed, "If I'm living in Piltover I kinda want my bedroom to look presentable. Also I don;t even have them because my old home is probably overrun by Silco's goons." Powder sighed, laying back staring at the ceiling. "Are you okay?" Ekko said sitting next to Powder."I'm fine. Why?" Ekko looked down at Powder, "I can tell something happened, you can tell me." Powder rolled her eyes, "There were Enforcers at the house the other day, and a Councilor was asking questions about Jinx and Silco." Ekko gasped, "And I thought they were going to take me." Powder pulled herself along with her knees curling into a ball. Ekko placed his arm on her back rubbing up and down, "It's ok Powder." "Jinx, returned. I thought they ratted on me so I ran away and I guess I passed out on the bridge or something." She moved her arms over exaggerating it, Ekko smiled as she waved her hands around. "I mean, I'm not perfect sweet Powder. I'm like a mix, or something. I don't know." Powder let her head lay up against Ekko's shoulder, Ekko wrapped his arm around her shoulder pulling her in, "You are you, now choosing to kill innocents is different. But you are who you are."Powder smiled, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. Opening her eyes she sat up letting Ekko's grip fall, "I need to take my medicine," she stands up walking towards the door. "Why do you need to take medicine?" Ekko says, Powder stops in the doorway turning back to him. "I, it's my night terrors." She says, looking away from Ekko in embarrassment. "Wait, you have night terrors." she nods looking up at it. Walking out of the room Powder walks down the kitchen opening up one of the cabinets. Picking her bottle out she takes one pill from the container throwing into her mouth before swallowing it whole. Walking back to her room she stops when she hears talking in her bedroom, slowly peeking around the door she sees Caitlyn and Ekko talking. "Ok rule number 2 I don't want any sex being held in this room. Ekko nods, "Number 3, Powder is basically my daughter so I don't want to see any abuse." Ekko scoffs at her when she says that. "Sorry, just worried about having strangers in my house."Ekko rolls his eyes as Powder facepalms hearing all of this. She walks into the room, "Hi." She says looking at Caitlyn, "Hello Powder." As she walks in she stands in between her and Ekko. "I need to talk to Ekko." Caitlyn nods, walking out of the room, closing the door. "Sorry about her," Powder sits down on the bed rubbing her face. "It's nothing." Ekko says smiling at her, "Well this time I actually brought clothes. Reaching into his backpack Ekko pulls out a pair of sweatpants.Powder laughs, "Why sweatpants?" Ekko rolls his eyes, "Well some of us don't get privilege." Powder rolled her eyes at Ekko's comment pulling on his tie, "Are you sure Savior." She says pulling him in for a kiss. Pulling back Ekko smiles, "I'm still sure." Powder jumps up from the bed walking over to her dresser pulling down her skirt. Ekko's eyes shoot open as Powder undresses infront of his except her underwear."Why not something different?" She says walking over to the bed, laying down and pulling the covers over her. Ekko also undresses and puts on his sweatpants lying beside Powder. "So, you're gonna ditch me like today?" She says looking over at him, "No." Ekko says back to her smiling. Ekko leans in, giving Powder a small kiss on her forehead before falling back to his side on the bed."I'm cold." Powder says looking over at Ekko, he sighs, "Come over here." Powder smiles, lying directly next to Ekko, turning around as her back meets his chest. "Goodnight boy savior." Ekko lets out a little laugh, "Night Pow-Pow." The two slowly fade off into their dream realms."What is this all about?" The bridge stands long and tall, a hole the size of a bus lies in the middle. "You know what you've done." A man says across the bridge, Jayce sighs. "I have no idea what you want." Silco looks up displeased by the answer. "You have something I want that you took from me. I need them back." Jayce looks with confusion, "We've never taken anything from you.""Give her to me and this can all be over." Jayce has a realization, "You want Jinx?" Silco looks up at him with a grin, "Now you get it, you made an extremely bold move taking her." Jayce shakes his head, "We didn't take her, she came over on her own right." Silco is surprised by this, "You're wrong-." He's cut off, "She doesn't even call herself Jinx anymore." Silco looks at Jayce with anger. "I need her at the bridge tomorrow at sunset or bad things will happen."He turns walking with his bodyguards into the darkness of the Undercity. Jayce sighs facepalms as he picks up his hammer walking back into the dark Piltover.
