Chapter 37: The battle part 2

I knew there was more to this training exercise than they were letting on. They were never trying to escape at all. It was an ambush from the very start but does that mean they still have reinforcements on the way? Or are they already here? Someone planted those mines while we engaged them because they were not there on our way to them but they were when we came back. Meaning a few things. They knew where we were and which direction we were coming from for a start. I need to be concerned about more than just Bakugo, Kaminari, Yaoyorozu and Todoroki. Any one of my other classmates could be out there right now. In fact if we were told they have reinforcements coming that suggests they know there's more than 4 villains in the area. Meaning it could be any number of my classmates not just one. I've gotta find a way out somehow at this point it's a losing battle. I'm on my own and I don't know how many enemies or which ones I'm up against. I've just got to focus on making an escape at this point and avoid fighting if I can. However if I get the chance to take them down I will.

"Hey he's over here!" he heard Kaminari shout behind him.

Damn how'd they catch up so fast? I need to find somewhere to hide and plan my escape.

Deku activated One for All again sprinting away making plenty of ground on him and his pursuers.

Wait a minute. None of them can keep up with me when I'm sprinting like this. So I should go around them and make my escape.

He turned down the next street he came to and began to run around the group that was chasing him. At full speed he sprinted towards the exit.

Almost there...

"Gotcha" he heard alerting him to the incoming attack as he managed to just dodge out of the way in time.

"How did you catch up to me so fast?" Deku asked not yet seeing who had swung for him.

"Oh we didn't" Sero replied.

"We?" Deku asked before hearing movement behind him and dodging a grape this time that managed to hit Sero instead of him.

"Goddamnit Mineta you were supposed to hit Midoriya not me!" Sero scolded him.

"I'm sorry you were just in the firing line!" Mineta defended.

"Wait a minute where did he-" Sero began but was cut off by Deku's foot connecting with his helmet smashing the visor.

"Damn you Midoriya take this!" Mineta said from behind him. He dodged out of the way of yet more sticky grapes being thrown at him. Mineta began to cry knowing that he was never going to successfully land any of his shots right before Deku's foot connected with his temple sending him flying into some nearby rubble. Deku's attacks hadn't knocked them out however it had caused some major damage. They were both dazed and concussed.

"I don't get it how'd you manage to beat us so easily?" Sero asked unable to get back on his feet.

"Well if you hadn't announced your attacks I might not have seen them coming in time. That and your little argument gave me an opening that I took full advantage of" Deku explained.

"He's so strong. We never stood a chance" Mineta sobbed to himself.

"Goddamnit Mineta shutup!" Sero scolded him again. Deku wasn't going to wait around or worry about knocking them both unconcious. They'd be down long enough for him to make his escape still without having to worry about them.

"We should tell the others" Mineta said as soon as Deku sprinted away leaving a green trail of energy behind him.

"Right. Guys he got past us he's heading towards the exit" Sero said putting his hand to an earpiece.

"I should've known he'd get past you two losers!" Bakugo yelled on the other end.

"Bakugo calm down he hasn't escaped yet. All teams converge on the exit point" Yaoyorozu ordered.

"Copy that" Sero said along with the others.

"We have to fight him again?" Mineta asked.

"Yeah but he's walking straight into a trap. Besides it'll be all of us against one guy. It's not like he has a chance"

"Yeah but Sero you're forgetting Midoriya has been in this situation before against real villains. He hospitalised 6 of 'em and the rest escaped with major injuries and were eventually all caught because of them. It's not going to be as easy as you think it is even on his own he could easily take all of us on" Mineta said for once being insightful.

"True but he was in a blind rage and he himself was hospitalised. There's no way he'd think to take us all on by himself" Sero said certain they had the victory in the bag.

"Let's just get to the exit already. I'm not sure about this though" Mineta replied unconvinced.

*Back to Deku*

I'm so close. It's only a few metres away. I'm gonna make it. I'm gonna-

His thoughts were cut off by Todoroki suddenly appearing in front of him who launched a wall of ice at him. Deku instinctively got out of the way jumping onto some rubble nearby. As he landed on it he turned to his left to see Bakugo flying towards him causing him to yet again jump out of the way and create some distance for himself. The moment he landed though Yaoyorozu fired a cannon at him causing him to dodge once more followed by Kaminari who shot a bolt of electricity at him causing him to make one final dodge.

"Damn. You guys got here fast" Deku said before noticing that they all had earpiece's in.

They didn't have those when we captured them.

"Yeah well that's the benefit of your whole team having earpiece's" Kaminari said grinning at him.

"So what you're just going to keep me from getting to the exit?" Deku asked.

"No. We're just holding you up till everyone else gets here" Yaoyorozu informed him. Hearing this Deku grinned.

"What the hell are you smiling about?" Todoroki asked.

"Oh nothing. Just that Yaoyorozu told me your plan just now. Thanks to her I now know I just need to get past the 4 of you before the rest of your team gets here" Deku said still grinning.

"Well it doesn't matter you'll never get past us" Yaoyorozu said putting on a brave face. She was annoyed she'd just answered him so easily but he had next to no time so it shouldn't matter anyway. Still she was nervous she knew Deku was quite capable of pulling out a win when it seems there's no chance of one.

"Oh yeah? Watch me" Deku said a small smile creeping up on his face.

"Todoroki!" Yaoyorozu screamed his name before Deku could move. Upon doing so he turned around and froze the exit solid leaving a giant glacier of ice for him to get through.

"What's stopping me from just smashing through it?" Deku asked.

"You can try but it'll take you a while and with the 4 of us to deal with you won't get a moment to break through. Let's be fair you're not going to win this fight Midoriya so your only option is to surrender" Todoroki

He's right I can't break through all that ice without getting interuppted by someone. I'd be leaving myself wide open. Unless I could find a way to get them to launch their attacks at me when I'm stood in front of it then they could chip away at the ice for me? No that wouldn't work they're too smart for that. They'd just wait till I tried to break it myself and then get me while my back is turned. Looks like there's only one thing left to do...

Deku readied himself in a fighting pose raising his fists to show he was ready to take them on. They seemed surprised that he was still willing to take them on.

"I guess we shouldn't be so surprised that you of all people wouldn't give up. You've never been one to walk away from a fight" Todoroki said.

"Doesn't matter anyway you've got a lot more to worry about than the 4 of us now" Kaminari said. Deku a little confused lowered his fists and looked around. It was still just the 4 of them in front of him.

Who else is here?

Suddenly he saw Sero and Mineta emerge from behind some rubble to his 3 o'clock.

"Hello again Midoriya. You're not getting away this time" Sero said grinning.

"Yeah we've got you now" Ashido said causing him to turn towards her to see her stood with Hagakure to his 9 o'clock.

"After all the odds aren't exactly fair" Tokoyami said causing Deku's head to spin once more to his 6 o'clock to see him stood with Shoji.

"Not even you can get out of this one Midoriya" Ojiro said stood with Sato to his 2 o'clock.

Seriously that has to be all of them by now I'm slowly being surrounded. Just how many people were we up against for this exercise?

"Not even I am fabulous enough to get out of a situation like this" Aoyama said to his 5 o'clock stood with Koda.

This is a joke surely?

"Yeah Midoriya even if your team was still in this there'd be no way for you to overcome all of us" Asui said to his 8 o'clock.

"Is that all of you?" Deku asked raising his fists again ready to fight.

I've fought 16 real villains by myself and won. This is just training with my classmates this should be easy compared to that. It's still going to be damn near impossible they're all extremely strong and powerful in their own right but I refuse to lose!

"Actually Deku..." An all to familiar voice said to his 11 o'clock. He turned around to look at who it had came from and when he saw what his ears had heard his fists unclenched and lowered to his side. His eyes widened in shock and his heart stopped.

"... Ochako?"
