11: Change of Seasons/Hearts

Almost a month had passed and many things happened. Chaeyoung finally got her surgery without any complications. I performed the surgery and it went well, the tumor is gone and all she had to do now is to stick to her chemotherapy just to be sure the cancer won't come back.

After she got discharged I fulfilled my promise to my girlfriend that we will go to Paris. We spent just a week there and now we're already heading back because I still have pending surgeries that I needed to perform and waiting patients that I needed to attend to.

We explored a few different parts of Paris during our short vacation here including the Eiffel Tower of course.

I'm now checking our baggages before we leave the hotel just to be sure that we wouldn't left anything behind.

"Are you sure you haven't left anything?" I asked as she was already making her way out of our hotel room.

"Jeongie I don't want to leave." She pouted and walk back towards me. She hugged me and put her chin on my chest and look up at me.

"We will just come back some other time love." I said smiling and pinched her cheeks. "Now let's go, we might miss our flight." I said and left a peck on her lips before pulling her outside the hotel.

Soon after, we arrived at the airport waiting for our flight back in Seoul.

I didn't even noticed that a week passed by already, I didn't even noticed that it has been a month since we got back together.

The past month had been my happiest because I had Nayeon back and Chaeyoung is all better now. I can never be happier, I just wish that this will never end.

"What are you thinking about?" Nayeon asked. We are now seated on the plane and she was getting ready to watch a movie.

"Nothing. Just about everything that happened recently." I answered and smiled as I held her hand. "I just wish this will never end." I said and kissed her hand that I was holding.

"You don't have to worry about that now Jeong. Everything is over now, all that's left for us is to be happy." She said and leaned her head on my shoulder. I smiled to myself and kissed the top of her head.

After a few minutes, she drifted to sleep in my arms completely forgetting that she's about to watch a movie. I just sat reading a book throughout the 12 hour flight from Paris to Seoul.

She woke up just before we landed. It's almost Christmas and it's actually dangerous to fly during winter but I'm glad we made it home safely.

When we arrived at the Incheon airport we proceed to claim our baggage. We went out and I can feel that it really is winter now because of the cold weather.

I was about to call a cab when Nayeon's phone rang. She excused herself and took the call, I called the cab and started to load our bags in the compartment with the help of the taxi driver.

After we are done loading everything Nayeon came back and wrapped her hands around my arms.

"Let's go?" She asked and I opened the door for her. I sat beside her and made our way to my condo unit.

She was staying there eversince she quit her job of being an idol, she is currently looking for a place to stay since her family is staying with her grandmother in the countryside for now.

After a couple of hours driving home we finally arrived at my condo. We unloaded all the baggage and went inside immediately since it's too cold outside.

A/N: Think of this as Jeongyeon's Condo Unit.

She stretched her arms and removed her coat before jumping into the bed.

"Are you still sleepy after sleeping for almost 12 hours?" I teased her and she stood up to pull me in the bed and lay me down beside her. "I have to wash up first love, and you too." I said and attempted to stand up but she pulled me right back.

"Just for a few minutes Jeongie." She whined and cuddled up to me. I just did the same and let her have the comfort that she wanted.

I thought she will fell asleep again but she got up and said she she will wash up first.

While she was in the bathroom I ordered some pizza and chicken since we haven't eaten dinner yet and I'm too tired to cook. She got out of the bathroom wearing one of my oversized shirt again.

"Why are you always wearing my shirt?" I chuckled as I approached her with a hug.

"It has your smell." She said and sniffed the nook of my neck then rested her head on my chest. "I'm hungry." She whimpered.

"I ordered pizza and chicken, is that fine with you?" I asked and she nodded. She sat on the couch and I lay my head on her lap as we waited for the delivery.

She was playing with my hair as we were both watching some dramas in the TV.

"I'm moving out tomorrow though." She said and I looked up at her.

"Have you found a place already?" I asked. It was too soon for her to leave and I don't want to let her go just yet.

"Hmm yeah. Help me move my things tomorrow." She requested.

"You can stay here, you know." I offered as I reached out for her hand.

"Jeongie..." She said and I sat down to face her. "I don't want to be a nuisance to you." She mumbled and I scooted over and cupped her cheeks.

"Why would you be? Look..." I paused and made her look at me straight in the eyes. "If you want to stay here I would love to let you in." I smiled at her.

"It's fine, really. Just help me move my things please." She said and cupped my cheeks too. "We can move in together someday, in a much bigger house where we'll spend our years together. Let's just wait until then, okay?" She said then pecked my lips three times.

"I love you Nayeon." I said and kissed her.

"I love you too Jeongie." She replied and I was about to kiss her once again when the doorbell rang.

"Psh. What a disturbance." I sulked my way to the door and I heard Nayeon's laughter as I walked further away.

When I opened the door it was the food that I ordered earlier. After paying, I took the food inside and set everything in the table. We just started eating while talking about random things.

The night passed by unknowingly. We slept beside each other cuddling. It was the best nights everytime she's beside me indeed.

Having her beside me makes me sleep even more peaceful. Just like I said before, I wish this will never end.

Morning came and I was planning to take Nayeon on a date today. It's the last day of my leave at work and I wanted to spend my day with her.

We are now driving somewhere important, to a place we really loved to go together. But I'm planning to surprise her, so I didn't tell her.

"We're here." I said as I parked infront of a familiar restaurant.

"Why are we here?" She asked happily, I guess she really missed the food here.

"To eat and to fulfill a promise." I said and got off the car to open the door for her. We walked inside hand in hand and as soon as we got inside the restaurant I caught a glimpse of Ahjumma already.

"Ahjumma!" I called out and when she turned around she was surprised on what she saw.

"Omo! Am I seing this right?" She said as she walked towards us pointing at our hands.

"Of course ahjumma. I had my girl back, so can I eat Jajangmyeon now?" I joked and they both laughed.

I told Nayeon about ahjumma banning me in her restaurant until I got back with her. She was laughing the whole time when I told her that story.

"Oh sure sure! Take a seat both of you. I'll prepare your food so wait in here, okay?" She said and we both nodded before ahjumma rushed into her kitchen.

Nayeon was happy to catch up with ahjumma. We were like childhood friends that reunited with each other after so many years.

Eversince high school, for like everyday, we used to come here and eat. This place had been our favorite place before because the food is good and the owner is nice.

It's nice to do the things we used to do before. I'm happy to be back in here with her again.

We just spent our time in here up until afternoon and decided to go back to move her things to her new apartment. The drive just took for about less than 30 minutes and as soon we arrived we started packing right away.

She didn't have that much things, it was just like two luggages including both her clothes and other things so it didn't took us that long to pack.

"Are you sure you don't want to stay here?" I asked her one last time hoping that I would convince her.

"You're so stubborn Jeongie." She chuckled and pinched my cheeks. "Let's go now." She said and I opened the car door for her.

We drove for like thirty minutes and I hate it that it's too far from my condo. We unloaded and arranged her things in her new apartment. This is actually prettier and bigger than my condo unit, it has a bedroom with a bathroom inside and a moderate kitchen.

It was all done and I feel like I don't want to leave and just stay the night here with her tonight.

"Do you want me to stay?" I asked and hugged her.

"You don't have to. You have to go to work tomorrow." She said and pulled me closer for a kiss. "I'll be fine, I promise." She assured to me.

"Okay fine, but if there's a problem you have to call me, alright?" I said and she nodded. I kissed her forehead before leaving.

I was driving halfway through my condo when I saw Nayeon's phone on the dashboard. I guess she left it here earlier so I turned my car around to give it back to her.

I really don't have to give it back today but I just missed her already even though we've been together for a whole week.

When I arived at the building, I rode the elevator and pressed the fourth floor. I walked to the room from the right where her apartment was located. I was about to knock but I decided to surprise her and came inside by myself since I know her passcode.

I was smiling from ear to ear and was excited to see her reaction when I came in.

But when I open the door...

I was the one who got surprised.

Nayeon was there leaning her back on the wall and she was kissing another guy.

When she saw me she pushed the guy and I got a clearer look at him, it was that guy, Jinyoung.

I don't know how should I react. I felt betrayed and I know I was fucking hurt. The pain was all over but I couldn't even bear to land a punch on him.

"What the fuck?!" I just said and walked out as fast as I can. I wiped my tears as I was walking away from her. It felt like a million blades is piercing through me right now.

We were fine just before, we were kissing and hugging and we were exchanging I love you's, so how the hell could this shit happen? Isn't the world too unfair for me? What an actual fuck.

Every step it became more and more heavier, I can't walk anymore but I can't bear to stop or turn back.

I wasn't walking fast and I know I'm not trying to run away, I wanted her to ran after me and explain everything. I was waiting for her to pull me and hug me then say that she's sorry, that it was a mistake or anything.

I want her to stop me and explain herself, but I arrived infront of my car and there was nothing. I looked back desperately hoping to see her behind me, but there was no trace of Im Nayeon anywhere.

She didn't ran after me, she just let me walk away like that. I just catched her making out with a freaking guy a few minutes ago and she didn't even bother to follow me and apologise.

I would fucking understand, she just needed to tell me something she just needed to explain something to me, an excuse or a lie, I wouldn't even care, I would fucking believer her.

But there was nothing, she wasn't here. I had no choice but to leave. I wanted to wait for her out here but I shouldn't be stupid. She wouldn't ran after you, Yoo Jeongyeon.

Drive away, there's no explanation for tonight, and I won't accept an explanation for tomorrow.
