What The Hell Is Up With All These Psychos

01:01, 19 August 2016

No one else has figured out my secret. However, George hasn't said a goddamn word to me and usually, things like that wouldn't bother me any. But, with my raging hormones, anything could make me emotional. And having one of my closest friends and coworkers turn their back on me, tends to ruin my emotional stability.

Alex poked me in the cheek, causing me to giggle before I ducked my head under the pillow and whined,"Leave me be! I want sleep." He chuckled then wiggled his fingers across my sides before I jumped away from the tickling and shouted,"No tickling!"

He rolled his eyes and followed me as I rolled away from him before he gripped me tight then lifted, pulling me into his lap. I tucked my head in the crook of his neck, hiding away from the sun only to have my pager beep several times. I let out an annoyed whine then rolled off his lap before dressing myself for work.

"Bye, don't get yourself killed by my roommates, and see you at work." I scurried downstairs and out the door, deciding to walk to the hospital. Endorphins help when you're pregnant,ya know.

I didn't bother looking at who had paged me,so I had no idea who was demanding my presence at four o'clock in the morning.

"Dr. Par- Montgomery, Dr. Yang want to see you in her room." Olivia, the little nurse that George had dated, declared, twisting her fingers together nervously. I nodded, frowning at the sight she presented to me before stalking into Cristina's room.

"Dude, it's four in the freaking morning." I snapped, crossing my arms over my chest.

"I need you to watch Burke's every move today." I gritted my teeth at the request. Burke and I wasn't exactly on good terms so I wanted to avoid him as much as possible.

"C'mon, Aviana, this is the least you could do for me! I'm freaking bed bound." I've got Cristina Yang, the shark of an intern, begging for my help. I sighed and bowed my head then muttered,"Fine, I won't like it though."

She grinned and thanked me before I realized that there was someone else in the room besides Cristina and I. The woman looked similar to Cristina and I realized who it was.

"Oh, do you know Cristina? Or are you her doctor?" the woman asked, standing beside Cristina's bed. I smiled and replied,"Dr. Aviana Montgomery. I'm a fellow intern much like Cristina is. You must be her mother." Indeed it was too.

Turns out, her husband was a oral surgeon, which made me wonder if that's where Cristina got the inspiration to become a surgeon...

"Well, Mrs. Rubenstein, I have to get back to work but I'm sure I'll see you in a few for her official round of the morning."

About twenty minutes later, the other interns had arrived and we were doing rounds. The first patient was from Nepal and she had multiple syncopal episodes, ventricular arrhythmias, not to mention her past medical history of rheumatic heart disease with mitral valve stenosis.

The second was Cristina who was none too happy with her mother, who sold her out about her 101 degree fever that spiked last night.

"Aw, poor Yang, you don't get to go back to work just yet." Alex teased but when I stomped on his foot, he gladly shut up. We followed Bailey to Dr. Grey's room, where she laid in bed, arms crossed over her chest before Bailey declared,"Ok, Dr. O'Malley, you're presenting."

George shot her a confused glance then asked,"Shouldn't Dr. Parker present?"

"No, no, no, her name is Dr. Montengremy,Thatch." Ellis corrected, glaring at O'Malley. He sighed and rubbed his eyes tiredly before she went on further,"It's not asthma, it's GERD. He needs a Nissen fundoplication. I don't want her in the room."

Jabbing a finger in Meredith's direction as the younger Grey protested,"Mom, this is my job!"

"Dr. Grey, I think it would be in the best interest for the patient for you to exit the room. I'll be out in a moment to brief you about your mother." I assured her, shooing her out. She ducked her head and I finished presenting the case before joining Meredith outside of the room.

"I just don't get it,Avi. One moment she knows I'm an adult and the next, I'm a child again in her eyes." she exclaimed. I pinched the bridge of my nose then threw my head back in frustration and snapped "Thats because she's an Alzheimer's patient, Meredith! What part of that are you not getting through your thick skull? You're a goddamn surgeon, act like it."

I stormed away, only to have my ears pick up a conversation that I wasn't seeking out, but boy was I glad to hear it.

"How come you haven't got on your broomstick and gone back to New York, where you belong?" Derek demanded, crossing his arms as his blue eyes burned holes into my sister's head.

"Stop being petty." Addie snapped, rolling her eyes at her soon-to-be ex husband.

"Stop being an adulterous bitch."he growled in return.

"Both of you stop being a bunch of annoying little brats. Seriously, I'm going to resort to cutting your freaking tongues out." I exclaimed, crossing my arms at them as I made up their now tiny circle.

Silence overcame the three of us as the elevator doors opened but none of us made a move to enter the death trap. Addie was the first to break our bubble of silence,"You know, you are going forgive me eventually, right? I mean you can't just ... I mean there was a time when you thought of me as your best friend?"

"There was a time where I thought you were the love of my life. Things change." Derek replied. I raised an eyebrow then pointed out,"And unfortunately, I'm stuck with both of you idiots as siblings, in law or biologically."

"You won't be his sister in law for long." Addie declared, handing papers over to Derek who scanned the paper then raised his eyebrow as well, "Divorce papers."

"This just went up to the next level." I giggled to myself as the dinged signalling that the elevator was about to leave this certain floor.

"Your lawyer says they're okay. I haven't signed them yet. The ball's in your court. If you sign, I'll sign. I'll sign and be on the 1st plane out of here." she explained more in depth. He gave a half nod and declared,"I'll sign them immediately. I want you out of here as soon as possible."

A look of hurt crossed my sister's face and my fist clenched in reaction before she stepped into the elevator and asked,"Derek, have you ever thought that, even if I am Satan and an adulterous bitch, that I still might be the love of your life?"

I gritted my teeth and I knew Derek was responsible for those nicknames. I turned to my idiot brother in law then snapped,"You're a goddamn idiot, Derek Shepherd."

I stormed to Cristina's room, my face red with anger then burst into the door and shouted,"This is ridiculous! Derek is an asshole, Addison is still freaking here, I'm ready to murder people, and it's not even noon, Cristina! Murder is illegal, illegal, and I am so tempted to lose my license and murder someone."

She blinked at me and cracked a grin at my words then replied,"You're finally starting to see things as they are?" I glared at her then sunk to the floor beside her bed and whined,"Yes. And it freaking sucks, dude."

She laughed and I rolled my eyes then replied,"I've got to get to work. I've got to do my rounds with Izzie." I stood and walked out, taking a quick (or what I thought was a quick) pit stop at the coffee cart, where the workers now knew my name.

As I walked casually towards Kalpana's room, I heard a faintly familiar British accent yelling, "Dammit. Someone get me a bloody code team!" I rushed to where I heard Payton screaming for help then noticed that Cristina was also in the room struggling to climb into a wheelchair before I demanded,"What the hell happened?"

"She's in V-FIB." Izzie pointed out dumbly, which made me want to bang my head against the wall repeatedly.

"Yeah, no shit,Sherlock. But what happened that caused her to go into V-FIB?"I barked, glaring at the blonde. She held her hand up in defense as Castle(Payton) and I hoisted Kalpana up into her bed then I noticed she was beginning to breathe properly again.

I decided to stay in the room, lounging nonchalantly on the other bed, with Castle at my feet while we read over and over this girl's chart. Burke peeked inside the room and appeared surprised to see us laying on the bed.

"Dr. Parker-Montgomery, Dr. Castle, don't you two have cases to tend to?" he asked, crossing his arms over his chest. Without glancing up from the chart, I replied,"This is my only patient I have to tend to, Dr. Burke and I already have all the test results you've demanded."

"Then how's her workup coming, then?" he persisted.

"Bloody terrific,Dr. Burke. Her electrolytes are within normal limits, Urine tox was negative and EKG's fine. Tilt test is scheduled for noon." Payton chimed in, her eyebrows furrowed together in concentration before she handed me a book and pointed out something to me.

I glanced over to the women laying beside us as she politely argued with Burke about what test needed to be ran. I shook my head, shooting down the British girl's idea then studied the chart once again. Been in a hospital more than four times this year... the sudden birth control...

I jumped up and drug Preston and Payton out of the room towards the nurses' station then exclaimed,"I know what's wrong with her!" Burke raised an eyebrow, clearly waiting for my answer, then I declared,"She's a hypercondriac."

Payton nodded, clearly considering it, before she replied, "It's makes sense. With everything that's been happening, the sudden,"Oh I have to take bloody birth control," and everything else, it does fit the profile. More specifically, she could have Munchausen's."

Burke gave a curt nod and declared,"I want more evidence then that,Parker. Your proof better be harder than a rock. Got it? Until then, run a few more tests. I want those results by yesterday."

We ran a urine test and a few others, only to get the results for the urine test back. I hurried over to Burke, who was bickering with Cristina, so I cleared my throat, Payton tapping her foot patiently.

He turned and I pulled the bag of pee out from behind my back then declared,"Her urine is blue, Dr. Burke." He sighed, his head hanging low then he grumbled to himself and stated,"I hate when interns are this smart."

I gave a soft laugh then shrugged as I left him with the urine bag, Cristina, and Payton. I glanced around the halls, making sure no one was around before I chose an on call room and sat down, going quiet. Everything that was happening.. Work, Alex and I's relationship, Cristina losing a fallopian tube, a baby, and a boyfriend, but the most important, Addie and Derek's divorce.

"Aviana, let me explain." Mark cooed, holding his hands up carefully as my blood shot eyes widened with fury.

"You son of a bitch! I cannot believe you cheated on me! With my own goddamn sister." I screeched, tossing the vase drunkenly in his direction. He ducked and exclaimed,"It just kinda happened,Annie! It's not like it was planned or anything."

"Don't call me Annie, you man- whore!" Another object, this time a wrench flew through through the air.

I choked at the memory then curled into a ball, tears pouring out of my eyes. Sobs tightened my throat as I fought against them but I couldn't do anything about it. It was too late.

A grip wrapped itself around my lungs and heart ad I continued to cry, not bothering to hide the sounds of my fit. Suddenly, sharp pains shot through my ribs, causing me to give a quick yell.

"Avi? Avi, baby, what's wrong?" Alex asked as he stepped into the room.

"It hurts, Alex! It hurts so bad." I wailed, gripping my ribs. He hurried over to me then demanded,"Why does it hurt, baby?!" I attempted to take deep breaths but the pain in my sides worsened.

He ran out and fairly, I could hear him yelling for help but it was too late. The pain had gripped me tight and I was past the point of consciousness.
