Chapter 5. The Best Evening So Far

The sun started to set. Me and Hu Tao were still on the hill. The sky looked mesmerising as it slowly faded from pure blue to a shade of orange and yellow. The clouds turned pink as they roamed the evening sky.

"The sky's beautiful tonight." I said, staring at the fiery orange sun as half of it disappeared beyond the horizons, its faint reflection in the sea. I was too busy watching the sun to notice Hu Tao trying to shift her hand onto mine. I suddenly felt a gentle peck from the tip of her finger, Hu Tao immediately looked away and pretended to watch the pair of birds on a tree next to us. I smirked and grabbed her hand; immediately Hu Tao realised that I knew her attempt and went red.

"Hey Hu Tao." I said after a while.

"Mm?" Hu Tao answered with a soft yawn.

"Remember that letter you wrote saying you were sorry to kiss me and that we wouldn't do it again, but we did?" I smirked.

"Eh," Hu Tao went even redder than a tomato,"yes. I remember that. I've forgotten about the letter, sorry again."

I looked at her as she looked down at the wavy grass beneath us.

"Well," I continued, looking back at the sun,"I'm not accepting your apology."

"What?" Hu Tao looked scared as she turned to face me. I smirked, not peeling my eyes from the sun.

"Because I don't think you even had to be sorry." I grinned and looked at Hu Tao. Hu Tao let out a soft gasp. She smiled and kissed me so hard she accidentally pushed me and we rolled down the hill.

"Oops... sorry, I think I did it too hard." Hu Tao groaned as she picked herself up. I didn't feel a thing when she landed on me. This girl surely is light as a feather after all. I sat up and smiled. We kissed again. The passion in her kiss didn't make me want to let go. I felt her arms wrap around my neck. As we broke apart Hu Tao didn't let go of her grip and pulled me in for a hug.

"Thank you, Yanfei." she whispered.

"For what?"

"For accepting me."

I smiled and hugged her tightly.
