Chapter 21 : Surprise!!

Jiyeon's POV

On my way back home, I got a call. It was from Seonghwa so I quickly picked it up.

"Hello?"

"Yes, Seonghwa."

"Did you reach home?"

"Not yet. I'm on my way."

"Ah..."

"Why did you call?"

"Just because... Did you eat?"

"Yeah. I ate with Jina."

"Ah I see..."

Then there was no response from his side. And I couldn't find any topic to talk about.

"So... I'll hang up now–"

"Wait!"

"Is there something you want to tell?"

"Well... Stay on the call with me until you get home."

I chuckled. "Okay."

That's how I stayed on the call with him till I reached home.

Seonghwa's POV

I was so tired from practice but after talking with Jiyeon, I feel refreshed. I felt better after talking to her.

I think I can't hold it back anymore. I like her so much. I want to confess my feelings to her.

The next day, as usual, we went to the company. We were having our comeback soon so we're a little busy these days. Just practice and practice all day long.

I sat on the floor of the dance studio, panting heavily.

"What do we do?" I heard San say.

"What about a surprise?" Wooyoung replied.

"It would be great. Let's do that."

"What are you both talking about?" I asked as I went to them.

"Jiyeon noona's birthday is coming. So we're deciding to give her a surprise birthday party," Wooyoung said.

"What?! Jiyeon's birthday?!"

"Yes..."

"How did you know about it?"

"I asked her when we went to hangout together."

How did I not know about it?

"When is it?" I asked.

"Two days later." I let out a sigh of relief.

Thank God I still have some time... I think I got the right time to confess my feelings...

Jiyeon's POV

"Saengil Chukhae Jiyeon-ah!" Jina said and hugged me as I entered the cafe.

"Khumawo Jina-yah."

"Today you can end your shift early. I'll handle it. It's your birthday after all."

"Khumawo."

"Ah, don't mention it." She rubbed the back of her neck.

Then I got a text message from Wookyung.

Let's hangout today. It's my treat.

Okay...

Thanks to Jina, I could end my shift early today. I said my goodbye to Jina and headed towards the place where me and Wookyung were to meet.

I was walking happily when I got a call. It was from Mingi.

"Hello?"

"Noona, can you come to the dorm? It's urgent."

He seemed very serious about it.

"What happened?" I was getting anxious.

"I can't tell on the phone. Come fast, it's urgent."

"Wait! What?... Mingi... H-Hello?..."

He ended the call. I started to panic. "I should go right away."

And so I did. I ran to their dorm. I was so worried about what could the matter be. I hoped nothing serious happened.

I reached their door and opened it. To my surprise, it wasn't locked. But I ignored it for the time being and went in to search for them.

I went to the living room and looked around but they were nowhere to be seen. I even called out their name but still no response.

Where are they?... What could have happened?

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIYEON!!"

I got shocked at the sudden noise. I turned back to see all of them coming towards me by clapping and singing the birthday song and Seonghwa was holding the cake. I gasped and covered my mouth. Yeosang came and put a birthday cap on my head.

I was surprised and shocked at the same time. They remembered my birthday! I still couldn't believe it.

"Happy birthday!"

"What's all this?..." I was becoming teary.

"Blow out the candles fast," Wooyoung said.

I was going to blow out the candles but Hongjoong stopped me. "Make a wish first."

I closed my eyes and made a wish. Then I blew out the candles and they clapped for me.

"You all remembered my birthday?" I asked. I was so touched.

"Of course. How can we forget it," San said and smiled.

"Thank you so much for this amazing surprise."

"Now let's eat the cake. I'm hungry," Yunho said.

And then we all sat around the table, chatted and ate the cake together.

"By the way, I was so shocked when Mingi called me like that."

"We wanted to give you a surprise," Mingi said, smiling like this (≧▽≦).

"I almost got a heart attack there."

"Sorry, if it really shocked you."

"I'll forgive you this time but don't ever do that again. Got it?"

"Okay noona," the 99'liners and Jongho said.

I chuckled and then we all ate the food that they had ordered.

"In this special occasion, I would like to sing a song for the birthday girl," Jongho said and stood up.

Omo! I'm gonna hear him live...

"It's Love Battery by Hong Jin Young sunbaenim. I'll start now."

I've heard that cover of him earlier but now I was really anticipating it.

I cheered and clapped with others as he sang. His vocals are no joke. His vocal range is out of this world. I haven't seen someone like him before. He's just amazing!!

We played some games and chatted before it was time for me to go back.

"I enjoyed a lot. Thank you guys for the party. I'll get going now." I waved at them and wore my shoes.

"I'll walk you home," Seonghwa said and wore his shoes.

"Okay, guys... See you later." I waved at the rest of them and went out of the dorm with Seonghwa.

We reached my home so I waved at him and was about to go inside but he stopped me.

"Jiyeon-ah..."
