2 weeks in Kumo

Zeref was in the training field swinging his sword. It was considerably easier thanks to all those days training with the sword shaped weight.

He and Gaara have very much kept in touch over the last 2 years. He would dare say the boy is one of, if not his closest friend.

Gaara also became used to Zeref randomly hugging the poor boy though his sand won't let anyone else touch him.

But with with this training Zeref came to the realisation that he actually had no idea what he was doing.

He trained with scroll from the Hokage to better his Ninjutsu.

He trained with Kurenai, to get stronger Genjustu's.

He also trained with Lee to help his Taijutsu, Zeref didn't beleive he could handle Gai. Not yet anyway.

His fuinjutsu was going strong thanks to a scroll he found in the old mans office.

His knowledge on the Uchiha and Itachi is still slim but getting better.

But With Kenjutsu there was no master in Konoha, they were usually defeated in that regard, or at least that's what all history books say.

The place best known for Kenjutsu was Kumogakure but they Hated Konoha, and it's people, however if he wanted to get better he would have to risk it.

He headed to the Hokage's office to let him no know about his travel plans.

"No" The Hokage denied.

"Why?" Zeref asked.

"Kumo hates us, allowing you to travel there is the same as sending you to your death" he explained.

"I cannot train in kenjutsu in a land that does not have a master in it." Zeref argued.

"We have plenty of Kenjutsu users. Gekko Hayate being one of our best" Sarutobi explained.

"But if he went up against a basic Kumo in a one on one would he win" Zeref asked bluntly.

The Hokage thought about it, could he? Kumo trained all their Shinobi in the art of Kenjutsu during the Academy, any that wanted to persue further could.

Hayate only started to learn a little bit before he was announced Chunin, any of their Shinobi would definitely have more experience.

"Most likely" he decided.

"That's not a yes, that a depending on the situation." Zeref replied in a monotone voice.

"The answer is still no" Hiruzen demanded.

Zeref eyes flashed red for a millisecond, only a few caught it.

"Very well then " Zeref stated standing up.

"Promise me, I know what your like" the Hokage stated seriously.

"I vow not to go to Kumo unless I have consent " he stated.

The homage looked pleased and allowed Zeref to leave.

Zeref went to his for once empty house and started to pack his stuff.

Once he had a bag ready he headed to the gate and saw the two idiots sleeping, he signed out saying hell be gone for 4 weeks and headed off towards Kumo.

Later at night Sasuke walked Into Zeref's apartment and grabbed a tomato when he saw a note on the table.

'Gone to Kumo for 4 weeks, I know you approve of training, so I'll give you some when I get back.'

Sasuke shrugged and went to sleep in the guest room that had been turned into his spare room, there was another but that was Naruto's.

A few days had past it takes a week to get to Kumo, but Zeref new he was close thanks to the high air pressure the place has.

With Zero preparation Zeref got slammed into a tree by an electrical fist.

"Who are you? Why are you here?" A deep voice asked.

Thanks to some research Zeref knew exactly who this man was.

With a bit of a struggle Zeref got out of the pit he was put in and gave a polite bow.

"Nice to meet you Raikage Sama, I was hoping you would be able to help me perfect my Kenjutsu." Zeref asked.

"No leave, konoha Scum" he denied.

Zeref was curious as to how he knew he was from konoha.

"Ah, I assume the Hokage told you of my appearance then" Zeref stated.

"Hmph"

"I won't give up, I've heard of the Kenjutsu masters that come from Kumo and wish to learn" Zeref stated, pure determination in his eyes.

Ay was about to speak when another man with sunglasses and about 8 swords on his back appeared.

"Yo, what's up Gaki, The Names Killer bee!!" He shouted both Zeref and Ay stared at him.

"If a kenjutsu master is what you need, then I'm the one wait and see" he rapped again.

"Uhhh"

"BEEEEE!!!!"

Now Zeref was very confused as he watched Bee-kun get punched upside the head but he got up like it never happened.

"Umm, uhh, n-nice to meet you killer bee, I'm Zeref... uhh that's me???" Zeref said, trying and failing to rap.

"I like this gaki Ay, let me train him, what do you say?" He rapped refusing to stay still.

Ay gave a tired sigh.

"If you wish, but one sign that he has bad intentions and I'll kill him" he said storming off.

"That went well" Zeref muttered.

"Ahh don't mind him, Fool ya Fool" Bee said.

Bee started to walk off Zeref taking as a hint to follow the man.

They went straight to a training field.

"You have a sword right? I hope so, you can't use mine just so you know" he rapped.

Zeref gave a tired sigh before pulling out his sword.

Zeref could feel the eyes of multiple Ninja watching them, well many him. Not that he was shocked.

The first week was simple, get up, find bee, train get food head back and sleep.

The second week was different when he met the two tailed Jinchuriki.

Zeref was standing in the training fields at midnight swinging his sword that way bee taught him.

He could feel eyes on him, he pulled out a Kunai and threw it near the stalker, when a girlish squeak came.

"Hello?" Zeref asked looking at the direction.

A woman came out.

"Hi" she said.

Zeref gave her a deadpan before continuing to train.

"Don't ignore me!" She shouted.

"Why are you watching me?" He asked.

"Ay-Sama asked me too." She replied.

"You look like you want to ask something" he stated.

"She says that your power scares her" she stated.

"Scares who?"

"Matatabi" she stated.

Zeref gave her a questioning look.

"What kind of spy are you to not know who matatabi is" she deadpaned.

"I'm not a spy so I wouldn't assume I would be a good one." Zeref stated.

"Fight me"

"What?" Zeref asked.

"You heard fight me" she repeated.

He gave a nod and got into the stance that has been beaten and rapped into him.

"Now this is training" Zeref muttered.

In the blink of an eye they clashed, Sword against sword, when Zeref got the upper hand and had the sword against her neck.

Both were panting and completely out of breath.

"Not bad" Zeref said.

"Yh, but if this was real you would have lost" she said. Zeref looked confused until she disappeared in a puff of smoke and Zeref and a Sword against his throat.

"Yo, Yugito nii, would you let the gaki free" a voice rapped, though both of them knew fully well who it was.

They both gave a heavy sigh before shaking hands.

"For someone who worries a tailed beast your not that bad." Yugito said.

"Thanks Yugi, you're really good, but I'll beat you someday." Zeref said.

"Keep at it and I think that day will be very soon." She agreed.

They all went out for food, after deciding to have some Barbecue for celebration of an epic match.

Also because Zeref would be leaving in 2 days.

When the day for Zeref to leave, it was a very warm leaving ceremony, everyone was partying.

Even Ay was there despite his protests, and obvious lack of trust he had some what gained a small liking towards the kid, not that he would ever admit it.

Doesn't mean he trusts the kid though.

After an amazing by and a final rap from bee, Zeref was on his way home.

He could only imagine the look on Hiruzens face when he got back.

He had a few issues on the way back as some bandits decided to test their luck, but with his improved Sword skills Zeref didn't even need Ninjutsu to defeat them.

Time skip

When Zeref walked through the village gates he was almost immediately surrounded by 3 Jonins.

And he knew them all from the Bingo book he stole from kotetsu.

Asuma

Kurenai

Kakashi

The first two were often seen together, the other usually seen with the taijutsu master.

Zeref ignored the other two and looked towards the female who taught him Genjutsus.

"Sensei is the something you need?" He asked, the tiredness from the trip evident in his voice.

"Hi Gaki, you've been summoned by the Hokage" she announced softly.

"It can't wait" the boy slurred, the tiredness growing more evident.

"No it can't what you did caused big trouble for the Hokage with the council." Asuma stated sternly.

Zeref gave him the same bored stare that Kakashi was.

"Last I checked the Hokage rules the village, not the Civil council who is only supposed to advice what the best action to take that will benefit the non Shinobi in the village. I have done nothing that affects the Civillians so their opinion is invalid to me." Zered muttered.

Asuma grew visibly angry.

"I'm going to kill him" he muttered.

"I mean, the kid isn't wrong, it's not their domain so they don't have a right to be angry." Kakashi said still reading.

Zeref looked at the man.

"I've seen you reading a lot, know any good, child friendly books or is all you read in the adult section." He asked.

The other two looked shocked that Zeref knewbit was an adult book.

Kakashi raised his visible eyebrow at the child before reaching into his pocket and pulling out another book.

"Here this is a good one, I don't like it as much as these but it should suit you." He said.

Zeref looked at the cover of the book, him and Kakashi now walking to the Hokage tower with the other two not far behind.

"Tales of a Gutsy Ninja?" He asked.

"Hai, written by the same author but for the kids." He explained.

Zeref looked at the spine to spot the name of the author.

"Jiraiya?, wait the Toad Yonnin?" He asked.

Kakashi just gave a nod.

When they walked into the Hokage tower Zeref put his book in his back pocket and walked into the Homage office.

"You wanted me old man Hokage" he stated.

"You are in so much trouble" The hokage replied.

"Why?"

"I told you not to go without my permission!" He shouted.

"I promised I wouldn't go without permission, I just didn't specify that it had to be yours" he stated.

The Hokage took a huge puff from his pipe.

"It doesn't matter, you need to stay in the village now, your on your last year before you graduate, you need to focus on that." He explained.

"See that makes sense, very well" Zeref agreed before hopping out of the window.

"Use the door!" The Hokage shouted after him.

He looked at the three Jonin in front of him.

"Your dismissed" he said.

Kakashi was the first to leave, then, the other two.

The Hokage gave a heavy sigh while looking out of the window.

"What am I going to do with that boy?" He asked no one.
