Birthdays aren't a big deal to me so I never usually tell people when it's my birthday, I don't want people to care because well, simply I don't myself so why should other people.

"happy birthday Blaise!" everyone chants as I walk into the common room, there are balloons everywhere and a banner with my name on it.

"guys, I told you not to do anything for my birthday." I smile and we have a group hug

"it was all Draco's idea, we promise." Theo adds.

"well surely, he should be here then, where is he?" I ask.

"he gave us this note and told us to give it you so here" Daphne passes me a piece of parchment.

Blay, meet me at the astronomy tower, I have a surprise for you.

Draco

"what are you waiting for, go" dan smiles. I run out the door and straight for the tower.

"what's your surprise" he turns around slowly and smirks at me. I notice a little box in his hand, he holds it out to me and I take it, its heavy.

"are you going to open it or you just gonna stare at it?" he seemed nervous.

I unravel the red bow, take off the lid and peer inside. It is the necklace I saw in the shop, just as beautiful as last time.

"Draco, how did you know?" I had many questions.

"I saw you staring at it and later that day I came back and brought it." He smiled.

"but it was so expensive" I can't remember the exact price but I remember seeing quite a few 0s

"it doesn't matter."

"thank you, its beautiful." I give it to him and turn around. He places it around my neck and clips it shut. I turn back around waiting for his reaction.

"it looks amazing on you, happy birthday blay" I hug him so tight; I'd never been happier.

"but I'm still not happy about you setting all of that up in the common room" we laugh like nobody's listening; nobody Is after all.

" oh, its nothing, just you wait" does that mean he has something else planned, this boy is crazy.

"a cake? Really?" I ask slightly annoyed.

"oh, c'mon blay it's your favourite, red velvet" he tries to force a smile on my face but it doesn't work. The cake was beautiful, 2 tiered covered in white fondant with my name in red, but birthdays are still not my thing so neither is birthday cake.

"it's fine I'm sure the others will enjoy it." I try to stay positive but he quickly bursts my bubble.

"you're not even gonna have a slice?" he looks startled

"no."

"but its your birthday and your cake and I went to all this effort to make it perfect." He's disappointed.

"I'm sorry, I'm just not used to having big birthdays, you know my family never did anything when I was younger."

"I get it, I'm sorry for trying to make it a big thing, I didn't realize its not what you wanted." He starts to leave before I say,

"Draco it's amazing don't get me wrong it's just a lot." He turned around and shut the door
