An Au where Gyomei, Uzui and Kanae assumed that Giyuu was mute due to trauma and never pushed him to speak but did drag him to hang out with them or other slayers, which they informed the following hashiras about.

It was thanks to deciding to do this that Kanae survived as she dragged  Giyuu on the mission with her and out dear old Kanzaburo accidentally told Gyomei about thr mission as it was for him so 3 hashiras fought Douma and survived(if Kanae was too injured to continue being a slayer or not is up to the writer).

That master, knowing that Giyuu wasn't mute(but could be considered so with how rarely he spoke and just to a few people), encouraged the hashiras to continue to do this and told anyone who Giyuu talked to, to keep quiet about it.

Things would mostly follow canon except that Giyuu's relationship with his fellow hashiras was better compared to canon.

So if this is before the Kamados or after is up to the writer but I think that it would be funny if Giyuu slowly started talking to the hashiras(one by one) and then the hashira who he talked to would make the others jealous by saying Giyuu actually talked to them.

What else could happen and how this would affect canon is up to the writer.
