8. Day Out

(Y/N's POV)

  Riiinnnnggg!!!! I was woken up by the ringing of my phone. Ugh. Who is calling me this early on a Saturday? I covered my ears with a pillow wishing it would stop. It didn't. With a groan I fumbled for my phone and answered the call.

   "Yeoboseyo?"

  "(Y/N)! It's me Kim Mi Sun," said the voice at the other end.

  " Mi Sun!" I sat up "Omo, it's been such a long time since I heard from you".

   " I know, I've been so busy lately," Mi Sun replied "My omma is coming to your area on an errand and I thought I'd spend the day with you and catch up on everything. What do you say?"

  "Omg yes! I haven't seen you in ages," I said excitedly.

  "Ok, then let's meet at our favourite bubble tea shop," Mi Sun said "And be ready soon because we'll be there in an hour"

  "Arasso" I said and hung up. I got ready quickly and headed downstairs. I had some breakfast and told omma about my plans for the day. "Have fun!" she said as I headed out of the house. I arrived at the bubble tea shop early so I made my way to our usual spot near the window. Before long, a familiar figure stepped into the shop.

   "Mi Sun-ah!!" I squealed and rushed towards my friend. We hugged and laughed and giggled like little girls. Mi Sun was just as I remembered her. She had the same straight, dark hair and the same sweet personality and she was still on the short side, making her irresistibly cute to boys. We laughed and chatted for an hour or two until Mi Sun got up and said "Enough sitting and talking. Let's go and have some fun!"

  We went to the cinema to watch a comedy movie and emerged two hours later with our stomachs aching from laughing. We then spent hours at the mall trying out cute outfits and the newest makeup. Finally, tired and laden with bags, we flopped down for lunch at a small cafe outside the mall.

  "Oh my feet are killing me," I groaned.

  "Mine too," said Mi Sun, stretching her feet in front her. "Let's visit that new mani-pedi place you told me about afterwards. That'll be relaxing"

  "Yeah. I've always wanted to go there but never got a chance," I said.

  "So... who's this new friend you have after I moved to the city?" Mi Sun asked. "I never had the chance to ask for details"

  "Oh, he's this guy who moved in next door," I replied breezily. "Ooo... is he cute?" asked Mi Sun with a sly grin. Cute? Definitely. "I guess he doesn't look too bad... I didn't really look at him that way," I said. Mi Sun raised an eyebrow. "So what's his name?"

  I took a deep breath. "His name is-" I started but Mi Sun suddenly gripped my arm and stared out of the window in disbelief. "Oh. My. God." she breathed "Is that Exo Chanyeol?!"

  I turned around to see Chanyeol walking towards the cafe. He saw me and gave me a little wave. "Oh my god he's coming in! He's coming in!" squealed Min Sun. Chanyeol pushed open the door and came towards our table. "Hey (Y/N). I was wondering where you were," he said, pulling out a chair opposite me.

  "You know each other?!" Mi Sun turned to me with wide eyes.

  "Uh-yeah. This, is my best friend"

  Mi Sun's jaw dropped. She looked from me to Chanyeol and back again. "Um, please excuse us for a moment," she said to Chanyeol before grabbing my arm and dragging me towards the washrooms.

   "Yah!" she hissed "Why didn't you tell me you're best friends with Park Chanyeol?!"

   "You never asked!" I protested. "But you could have told me!!" she wailed "You know he's my bias in Exo!" 

  "Mianhe Mi Sun-ah," I said "But at least you got to meet him." Mi Sun frowned at me playfully and headed back to the table while I followed behind her. Once at the table, she got Chanyeol's autograph and took some pictures with him. As someone who regularly hung out with Chanyeol, it was amusing to watch Mi Sun fawning over him like a fangirl.

  Once, during lunch I went to the washroom. When I returned I found Chanyeol and Mi Sun deep in conversation, looking very serious. "What are you guys talking about?" I asked, taking my seat.

   "Um...Just about the...weather!" said Chanyeol. "The weather?" I asked feeling suspicious. He's lying. What were they talking about?

  (Chanyeol's POV)

    The weather? I gave myself a mental slap. Aish you pabo! She'll obviously know it's a lie.

   "So what about the weather?" asked (Y/N). Luckily Mi Sun came to my rescue. "Oh, just, you know, how its getting colder these days and stuff..." she said.

  "Oh ok..." said (Y/N). She didn't look entirely convinced but she stopped pursuing the matter. As the conversation turned to another topic, I thought about my plan and what I had been talking with Mi Sun.

   (Y/N)'s birthday was coming up and I wanted to do something special for her. That was what I was talking about with Mi Sun. I wanted to surprise her with the best birthday and I'd already made some plans. I already told the rest of the Exo members and her mother and they loved the idea. Now all I had to do was to make sure everything goes according to the plan and (Y/N) had the best birthday ever.
