Chapter thirteen
01:29, 25 June 2020A/N: Thought I would mention this here. This book is not in chronological order. As you will note, this is bits of the new tour, but I have flipped it for fictional purposes too.

Izzy's POV:
Maggie takes hold of my hand after she puts Billie's inhaler and a couple of other things into a small bag she has strapped around her waist.
Billie's opening act has just started their last song as the older brunette walks with me down the stairs from the stage to where other people of the crew are standing.
There is a large black curtain draped around this area too, so fans can't see in.
She holds the backstage pass that is around my neck in her hand and taps it.
"This is your best friend at these shows, okay?" I nod taking in this new information, her tone stern but warm at the same time, making me think I really need to remember what she is telling me considering this is my first time.
She flips it over and points to a neon green strip that runs down the length of the pass.
"These backstage passes are access all areas however, everyone has colours on tour, and that shows either which department you work for or how much access you have to say, Billie or our family" I nod again.
"Green is Billie. Well technically, It doesn't get higher than this, there are only about 10 of us. As soon as I heard you were coming I got you one and had it with me just in case Bil asked"
My eyes widen and I bite my lip. I don't know why, but that gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling knowing how close I am to this amazing family, even after all my parents did to them.
"Listen Izzy, these concerts are crazy, amazing but real high energy and well you know how concerts can be. The screaming and heat from the lights. If anything goes wrong or you feel uncomfortable in anyway, you show a security guard your pass AND the neon green strip on the back" Maggie continues as we move closer to the metal barrier about to walk into the isle between the crowd and the stage.
"All security have been briefed and know what the colours mean, once they see yours they will treat you like the president and they are your secret service" she laughs trying to make the conversation a little more light hearted.
"Holy shit this is crazy" I laugh with her.
"Honey, you have no idea. But somehow I think you may get used to it very soon" she winks, making me blush.
"Also, I'll be there with you, but stay closer to the stage than fans, we don't want you pulled over the rails, I think you'll be fine because no one knows who you are, but they will see you with me and automatically jump to conclusions no matter who you are" I nod processing everything.
The opening act have finished and we are between the time where the house lights have come back up and Billie's name is being chanted waiting for her to start.
Maggie looks at me and takes a deep breath giving my hand a squeeze but releasing it as we both walk up to the larger gentleman at the barrier we are about to pass to go into the crowd.
"Oh Izzy, one more thing" Maggie whips around to me, as she's walking in front.
"What is it?" I question
"Do you listen to her music?" I was taken aback with the question, nobody has asked me before now. At least, not this directly.
How do I say no but yes all at the same time. I don't listen to her music as in, turn it on specifically choosing it, but also she isn't a small artist, and I don't live under a rock. I hear her songs when I am out but as I've mentioned before I know it's her only because I know her voice. I assume I've only heard the popular songs, I know one is called "Bad Guy".
"Umm- I don't" I bow my head, shaking it back and forth.
"I've heard songs when I am out but I don't search them" I elaborate to Maggie.
"It's okay sweetie, that's what I thought. I just want you to be prepared. Some songs were written, you know, a while ago" she says, then shows the security guard her pass and whispers something to him as I follow.
What does that mean, I wonder. Does she mean that some songs may be, about me?
I shake my thoughts and quickly run after Maggie not wanting to do this alone.
I show my pass quickly, both sides as told and walk over to Maggie as the lights fade, I think to myself Wondering if the sound and production team had been told to wait until Maggie and I were in front of the stage and ready.
I'm so nervous but so excited all at once.
The fans were absolutely losing their minds now, I have never heard screaming this loud, even at shows I have been too. It's like a jet starting, my lord.
We walk closer to the middle of the stage and Maggie takes out her phone going on Instagram to record.
I turn around and smile at a few of the fans that are behind us as they shout hello to Maggie.
God damn, this is weird and amazing.
Some say hi to me too, and I mouth a quick hello back as they start whisper yelling to each other about who I am.
The visuals start and the intro begins and then all of a sudden Billie is falling from a bed.
My heart clenches for a fraction of a second hoping she is safe, then realise it's part of the show.
I watch in amazement as I start to wonder how my life has changed so quickly in the past few days.
I zone out, noticing Billie has disappeared from the stage.
Then, she is standing in front of me like she runs the entire world. Soaking up the atmosphere.
Wow
I am so crazy in love with this girl right here.
Whilst she is standing there with her legs parted in a stance, taking everything in, I look up in awe at my whole damn world.
Billie notices me as she scans the crowd. She gives me a sweet smile and winks.
Ugh my heart
I miss her even though she is right there, I wish I could attach my lips to hers.
I hear the fans behind us saying she winked at them and I giggled, so cute.
The music starts and Billie begins to jump around, god I hope her ankles aren't like they used to be when she was younger. Always hurting herself so easily.
The show continues perfectly, I decide to gain a little more confidence once Maggie has moved to different places and move around to my left where I notice a piano is placed and a small set of stairs, I keep my distance though as I notice four security guards hover around that area.
There are a couple of other crew members near this side too. One comes over and says hi to me, I remember this guy from the DVF office the day I saw Billie again. I think it's her manager.
"Hey Isabelle, nice to see you again" he yells over the music.
I politely say hi back and turn my head to watch Billie again.
"She's doing great" he tries to be friendly.
"She's magnificent" I reply with heart eyes. He laughs at my face and the smile I couldn't remove.
"I'll leave you to it" He pats my shoulder and I nod smiling.
Out the corner of my eye I see another crew member wave me over to where Maggie and I originally came out. I walk over to them wondering what's so important they are taking time away from my girl.
"Yeah?" Is all I say to the other girl.
She is holding a water bottle and hands it to me.
"Billie is about to walk up those stairs" she points to where all the extra security is.
"Maggie is busy and I don't have access to her" she flips her pass showing a blue colour, which I assume is not allowed near Billie per se.
"She said to give it to you, so you can give it to Billie"
"Oh okay, sure" I reply as the girl walks away quickly from me.
I walk over to the stairs waiting for Billie.
The security guard looks me up and down, I go to show him my pass but Billie walks out from under the stage about to walk up the stairs. She turns to me obviously thinking it would be her mom going to hand her the water instead. She smiles widely and droplets of sweat bead on her forehead.
I walk to her about to hand her the water bottle but the big guy in front of me puts his arm out to block her from me. His arm collides with my stomach and knocks the wind out of me.
"Oof" I hunch over holding my tummy with one hand as the other hold Billie's water bottle still.
"Yo, what the fuck dude" I hear Billie's voice get closer to me, rage taking over.
I slowly rise trying to gain my breath back. I take my pass and turn the neon green strip to him and I watch the colour leave his face.
"I am so sorry Miss" he starts, I wave my hand dismissively.
"It's fine you're doing your job" he moves out of my way as Billie walks over to me.
I hand her the water and put both my hands on my lungs/ribs. She puts her hand over mine and threads her fingers between.
"Baby are you okay" she whispers into my ear, not that anyone could hear.
"Yeah, yeah I'm good. I was just trying to bring your water. Fuck that hurt, I should've shown my pass quicker, this is some high end security you got here bro" I laugh but Billie doesn't, concern laces her features.
"You need to go back to the show, I'm fine" I say in all honesty.
She pulls me closer and wraps her arms around me giving me a quick hug. I would be lying if I said I wanted to pull away, I let my head fall onto her shoulder and let myself feel the pain in my stomach while I soaked up her warmth.
I hear a string of awe's from around the arena and whistles.
We pull back from the hug and she puts her hand on my stomach again, like I'm pregnant.
Giving me some serious butterflies and future vibes.
"You're coming with me" she took my hand and we walked up the stairs, sitting at the piano.
"Are you sure Bil?" I question, feeling thousands of eyes on me.
She grips my thigh and takes the microphone from the stand near the piano.
"Hey guys" she smiles at the crowd as they all scream wildly.
"I have an old friend here with me tonight, who I haven't seen in a really long time, so I'm going to change this up a little bit, I hope that's okay" she says putting the microphone back in the holder and starts tapping the keys on the piano.
It's not trueTell me I've been lied toCrying isn't like youOh-oh-oh
I listen intently to each and every word of the song, my heart constricting, I can't help but wonder if this is one of the songs Maggie was talking about earlier. Did she write the because of me?
Maybe won't you take it backSay you were tryna make me laughAnd nothing has to change todayYou didn't mean to say "I love you"I love you and I don't want toOh-oh-oh
I feel tears pool in my eyes, I am trying to blink them away but everything is so blurry from how many they are. I let them fall, allowing my feelings to immerse my body in this moment.
I am so in love with her, I just can't help it anymore, and I don't want too.
We fall apart as it gets darkI'm in your arms in Central ParkThere's nothing you could do or sayI can't escape the way, I love youI don't want to, but I love youOh-oh-ohOh-oh-ohOh-oh-ohOh-oh-ohOh-oh-oh
The song finishes and the crowd have sung along to the entire thing, camera phone lights raised throughout the whole arena and I find it hard to breathe.
I am beyond proud, I can't wait to show her later.
Our eyes meet and I can see she also had a tear stained face.
I wipe them away with my thumbs and wish I could kiss her, she must feel the same as she brings her lips to my ear.
"Isabelle" Billie says my full name, sending shivers up and down my spine.
"I love you" her hand falling on my lower back pulling me closer to her as I wrap my arms around her, tears streaming like a flood gate has been opened by both of us.
I sob into her neck and pull away looking into her eyes to show her how much I mean the next three words.
"I love you" I repeat.
"I want to kiss you" I add on, hoping no one can read lips in the crowd.
She yells a quick thanks to the crowd and something about watching Finneas perform one of his songs.
Billie takes my hand and we walk back down the stairs. She guides me underneath the black curtains of the stage, where she came out from before.
Before I can say anything as to why I am under here. Billie watches the curtains close and lights under the stage illuminate.
She crashes her lips to mine in a passionate and loving kiss, it gets heated quickly as we both relish in the feeling we need.
Our lips move in sync and tongues roam, my hands slip through her hair as Billie's hands are around my waist gripping me tightly.
We pull away panting, knowing she has to go back out there.
"I love you more than anything" I tell her.
"Baby, I love you so much too" we kiss again but it's quick.
"Also, don't think I didn't catch on to you calling me bro before" she winks.
I didn't even realise I said that, I let out a nervous laugh.
"We will finish this later" giving me another quick kiss she runs up the corridor under the stairs leaving me with my thoughts swirling in my head. I decide it's best to follow the lights where Billie had just went and I find myself walking up the stairs to side stage.
Maggie and Claudia both with tears in their eyes as the saw me.
I run up to them giving a group hug.
"That was so cute" Claudia said and Maggie couldn't talk she just hugged me tighter.
We watched the rest of the show side stage until it was finished and Billie was saying her goodbyes and thank yous.
