Gardens
17:02, 13 August 2021After my nice relaxing cold bath I put my nightgown on and payed in the comfiest bed I have ever laid in. That night I had the best, most deep sleep I have ever experience. Of course I had to do a little decorating and made a un-meltable block of ice. I wasn't use to Asgard's temperature yet.
The morning I woke up my a soft knock on my door. I changed to look Asgardian and disappeared the ice block as that same maid from last night walked into the room. The same smile plastered on her face.
"Good morning miss. I was told to come help you get ready for the day." She says as I sit up in bed.
"Thank you." She bows and walks over to the tall cabinet and opens it to be full of different colored dresses. "Are those for me?" I stand up and walk over. "Who made these, they are very nicely stitched." I pull a dark blue, the color of my skin, out of the closet.
"These are all hand maid by the palaces tailer." I nod. "If that is the dress you pick I can help you put it on." She reaches for the hanger but I pull away before she can touch my skin.
"It is fine. I can dress myself. Thank you." Her smile faltered a little. "I am not use to people helping me." I smile.
"I understand. Would you like to eat your meal here or in the dining hall with everyone else?" I walk to my bed with the dress as she asks
"I think here will be fine. Thank you." She bows and leaves.
I take off my nightgown and pick up the dress. The thick silk fabric drapes over my figure as if it were made for me. I tie the belt made of soft rope on my side and turn to look in the mirror. I would say I love the way I look but, this isn't me. It's an illusion. Knock knock..
"Come in." I call to the person. The door opens.
"Good morning Nimue." Loki greets. "You look nice." He smiles.
"Thank you." I look back to the mirror. "It's not me though. It's all an illusion." I turn back into my Jotun form. "This is me."
"Well you look great in both forms." He closed the door. "I understand how uncomfortable it is to be in a form you don't see yourself as."
"Like your Jotun form?" I look at him. "Sorry."
"It is alright." Knock knock... I turn back into my Asgardian illusion.
"Miss I have your meal." The maid walks in with a tray. "Oh, my Prince." She bows. "I am sorry. I didn't realize you were here."
"It is fine. You may continue." He said kindly. "You are eating here?"
"My illusion isn't as strong as yours. My skin still burns Asgardians." I whisper in his ear. He nods.
"Would you like me to join you? Maybe have a nice meal in the gardens?" He smiled.
"Really!!" I beamed. "Can we eat sitting on the grass?"
"If you would like." He chuckled. I nodded. "Would you please have two meals sent to the gardens for us, please." Loki asked the maid.
"Of course, your highness." She then backs out of the room with my food. "Shall we?" He holds out his arm.
"Are you sure this is allowed, your highness." I smirk at him.
"If I say it is allowed then it is." He smiled. I rolled my eyes and placed me hand in the crook of his arm. "I guess you have never seen a garden before."
"No, but I did visit it when I first got to the castle. It is just as books describe it, the flowers fill my sense with there fragrance." I smiled. "I actually met your Mother there, she is very kind. I think she is scared you will hate her since now you know your true parentage."
"I can never hate her. But she lied to me my whole life." He said sadly.
"She didn't want you to feel different. She wanted you to think of yourself of her son, not her adoptive son." We start heading down the stairs. "Family isn't just about blood. Family is about faith, and loyalty, and who you love. It's the people in your life who want you in theirs; the ones to accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what." We reach the bottom of the stairs.
"You have a quick tongue." Loki said as we head out the door.
"Or maybe I just read it in a book before." I chuckle. "But it is true. They love you, no matter who you are."
"Thank you." He placed his hand on mine. I grabbed his wrist and removed his hand.
"You are Jotun, Loki." I chuckle. He looked down to his blue fingers.
"Right." He chuckled. He lead me to the center of the rose garden where there was a blanket on the ground with a short table of food. "I hope this will suffice." He helped me to the ground.
"Better then makluk." He looked at me confused as he sat down. "It's an creature we eat on Jotunheim. Lives beneath the ice, a pain to get." I chuckle. He smiles.
"Well I think this will be much better than makluk." He takes off the covering on our plates "This is hog, potatoes, and green beans." He set the lids on the blanket. "And I made sure it wasn't to hot for you." I smiled.
"It smells delicious." I pick it up with my hands and he grabbed the two silver weapons on the side. "Is that how Asgardians eat?"
"Not just Asgardians." He chuckles and sets down the weapons. "Is this how Jotuns eat?" He picks up the meat with his hands and takes a bit. I laugh.
"Yes. Exactly. You are a professional." I laugh. He chokes as he laughs too. "Oh God don't die on me." I laugh.
"I would never." He drinks his water.
"What do we have here?" Frigga walk up to us. "I heard my son was having his meal in the gardens but would never imagine him sitting on the ground." She chuckles.
"Frigga! Come, sit. We are eating hog... and potatoes... and green..." what was it?
"Beans." Loki adds.
"Yes, green beans. It is definitely delicious."
"I see you two are enjoying yourselves. I don't mean to spoil the fun but Loki may I speak with you?" He nods and stands up.
They walk away and she says something quietly that's makes him step back in shock. He nods and hugs her before coming back to me.
"Is everything ok?" I ask and set down my hog.
"No, may I be excused?" He says nervously
"Yes, it's fine. Maybe another time." I smile. He nods and walks away.
