KILLER QUEEN

CHAPTER 7

I was born in space, I've never felt the sun on my face or breathed real air or floated in the water. None of us have. For three generations the ark has kept what's rest of the human race alive but now our home is dying and we are the last hope of mankind. One hundred prisoners sent on desperate mission to the ground, each of us is here because we broke the law but on the ground there is no law. All we have to do is survive, we will be tested by the earth, by the secrets it hides and most of all each other.

Listening to the sounds of the wind blowing, thunder booming across the sky and rain drops hitting the steel around me is surprisingly calming.I continue to sit with my back against the wall of the drop-ship.

''Hold it down''

''Come on''

''This is Raven Reyes, calling ark station..... come in, calling ark station...this is Raven Reyes calling ark station, please come in. Can anyone hear me''

Well ....there goes the peacefulness.

I open my eyes to see a group of guys trying to bring the tarps that we use for tents inside, though they're failing. I look over to Raven who is still trying to get the radio to work.

''Are you sure you have the  right frequency''

'' Yeah i'm sure!!''

Clarke walks over ,'' Raven, you can do this''

Raven breathes out and continues to try and reach the ark, while Clarke walks over to Finn and checks the stab wound. I continue to watch as she removes the cloth from around the wound and even from where I was it was clearly infected.

''Calling ark station, can anyone hear me, please, the hundred are alive''

Suddenly the radio start to make more static. I quickly stand and walk over to Raven.i look over the radio as the static continues. Raven goes to talk again but I place my hand on her shoulder stopping her, she looks up at me with questionable eyes. The radio then makes louder static noises, then stops.

''This is a restricted channel, who is this, please identify yourself?''

Everyone crowds around us quickly ,''This is Raven Reyes, i'm from mecca station. I'm transmitting from the ground. The hundred are alive. Please you need to get doctor Abby Griffin, doctor Abby Griffin now!''

''Raven are you there'', a women's voice says and I immediately recognise it as Abby's.

I turn my head a little and look at Clarke who looks conflicted ,''Mum,mum its me''

Its silent for a moment ,'' Clarke?''

'' Mum, I need your help.One of our people was stabbed by a grounder,'' Clarke says looking over at Finn.

''Clarke this is the chancellor''

I immediately tense up and stand up straighter, pushing my shoulders back. Raven turns and looks at me obviously noticing my sudden change in mood.

'' Are you saying there are survivors on the ground,'' he continues.

'' Yes,'' she breathe out ,''The earth is survivable, we're not alone''

Its quiet for a few moments until Clarke speaks again ,''Mum he's dying, the knife'S still in his chest''

''Clarke,'' Jaha says ,''Is my son with you?''

''Im so sorry, Wells I-is , W-Wells-,'' Clarke tries

I stepped closer to the microphone ,'' He's dead''

Everyone on my end and the radio side goes dead quiet though people on my end turn and look at me and watch as a evil smirk appears on my face.

''i'm so terribly utterly sorry chancellor''   i said with sarcasm but then venom at the end.

Clarke steps near me ,'' Embry sto-'' But with one quick look from me she shuts up and steps back.

I let out a little laugh ,''I guess that's what you get for sending him down here to die, he, um, i don't know dies!!''  i say with sarcasm ''Well i guess you  know what its like to families murdered except this time your on the opposite end'' Anyone could here the deadly tone in my voice.

When he stays silent I walk back over to where i was sitting before while pushing people out of my way, though most of them rushed to get out of my way.

''Alright... I'm going to talk you through it step by step''

bang

the whole drop-ship shakes because of the force of the storm.

I hear Abby start to talk again and  Clarke tries to make out what shes saying.

''What,'' Clarke yells ''Raven whats wrong?''

Raven shouts out ''It's not the radio, its the storm''

''Monty's moonshine'' I hear Clarke say

''I'm pretty sure no germ can survive it''

i open my eyes and see Octavia in front of Clarke.

bang bang

''The storms getting worse, Monroe close the doors''

''But we still have people out there''

''Monty and Jasper still aren't back yet, neither is Bellamy'' Octavia tells Clarke.

''Its alright, they'll find somewhere to ride it out''

Raven walks quickly up to Clarke holding out a needle ''One stitching needle''

'' I still need something to close the wound''

Octavia buts in ''There's some wire on the second level, I used it for the tents''

''Stay away from the blue wires that run through the ceilings.I rigged it to the solar cells on the roof. That means their hot. You got that'' Raven says

Octavia continues to walk away '' Yeah I got that''

Raven turns to Clarke '' Tell me you can do this''

Clarke stayed silent.

'' Hey their back'' some girl yells

''Bellamy'' Octavia shouts

I watch as Bellamy walks in and then two guys after him but then I notice someone else and quickly stand.

The two guys drop the body in the middle of the drop-ship. I walk over and immediately recongnise who it is.

'' The hell are you doing'' Octavia say to Bellamy

'' It's time to get some answers'' he reply's

''Oh, you mean revenge''

'' I mean in-tell,'' he stares at her for a moment then to the two guys who carried him in ''Get him upstairs''

I watch as they drag Lincoln away.

'' Bellamy, shes right'' Clarke walks up to him

The radio goes silent '' Clarke we're ready, can you hear me? ''

Clarke shakes her head at him '' Look, this is not who we are''

''Clarke?''

Bellamy looks at her '' it is now'' he then walks away.

''The blade is at a sharp upwards angle between the sixth and seventh rib,'' Clarke tells her mum while I look over Finn, silently inspecting him while Raven paces.

'' Okay how deep?'' Abby questioned

'' Well i cant tell how dee-''

'' about 12 centimeters'' I say looking at the knife

Clarke looks at me questionable.

I frown at her,''Are you seriously going to question me about my knowledge of knives?''

She thinks for a moments then speaks towards the radio,''About 12 centimeters''

''Okay Clarke, do you see any fluid''

Clarke was about to answer but was interrupted when some guys near us started yelling at each other.

''dammit'' Clarke says angrily while looking at the guys, '' We need to clear the room''

Raven was about to comply but I grabbed her arm, she turns and looks at me and I smirk at her.

I drop my hand and walk pass her and Clarke,'' Alright!!, Everyone upstairs now!, come on!..move it!!!'' I shout.

i'm still smirking as I watch everyone scramble up the ladder.

''He feels a little warm'' I hear Clarke say.

I turn around and walk near them.

'' That's alright, fever sometimes accompanies the trauma, Clarke I need you to tell me if there is any fluid leaking from the wound''

Clarke looks down,'' Um..no''

''Plural membranes intact, that's good, that's actually really good. He got lucky,''

I walk closer to Finn and start inspecting him, placing my hand over his forehead checking his temperature, placing two of my fingers to his pulse checking how fast it is,opening one of his eyes checking to see how dilated they are.

Raven looks down at Finn,''You hear that, you got lucky''

I step back,'' I doubt that''

Abby goes silent on the other end and Clarke and Ravens heads quickly snap towards me.

''What the hell does that mean,'' Raven says stepping closer to me.

I go to walk around her and Clarke but Raven steps in front of me,'' I said what the hell does that mean''

I step closer to her and whisper in her ear,'' It means.. the knife isn't the biggest problem. Now get out of my way'' I say with venom pouring out like a viper just about to attack.

She looks at me confused and angry then looks down and steps to the side, I make my way towards the ladder and just before I reach it Clarke calls out.

''hey!!, what do you mean?''

I turn around and look at the two girls before me, both pining over the injured male lying on his death bed.

I lick my lips,'' The funny thing about weapons is that on their own their dangerous..... but if you add a little something else.... it makes them... so much more..... deadly'' I smirk at the end.

They look at me in confusion then to each other in worry.

''Have fun''

I pull myself up the last few steps of the ladder into the the top room of the drop-ship, where they're holding Lincoln.

'' Hey, what are you doing up here?''

I turn around and look at Bellamy,'' It was getting a bit to boring down stairs'' I smile

He scrunches his eyebrows and ignores me as I walk further into the room.

I hear  someone coming up the ladder and turn to see Octavia, when Lincoln suddenly lashes out.

''Hey, he's awake''

'' Tie him tighter, the last thing we need is for this bastard to get free because you screwed up''

I watch from the sidelines as Lincoln pulls on the restraints but suddenly stops, I follow his gaze and see Octavia. I look back at Lincoln with an eyebrow raised and a small smirk coming to my lips.

What happened to not liking sky people Lincoln.

I look at Bellamy seeing he's notice the grounders interest in his sister and via versa.

''Octavia, get out of here''

She walks closer,'' I told you, he was protecting me. You didn't have to do this,''

He looks a her,'' This isn't about you. I'm doing this for all of us''

'' You did that for all of us'' she gestures to a bloody Lincoln.

''No i did that for Finn and Jasper and Diggs and John and Roma''

''It wasn't even him''

'' You don't know that,'' Bellamy starts to say louder ,'' We need to know what we're up against, how many their are and why their killing us and he's going to tell us right now'' Bellamy starts to walk towards Lincoln.

''Wait Bellamy, please''

I step forward a little, I may not be too sure of Lincoln but i will admit that..... Talon.... he... in a way....is growing on me......and this is someone who he calls a brother so I wont let anything happen to him.I dont understand why I feel this way because all Talon does is challenge me, knock me out, confuse me, tie me up and sometimes gives me food.

''Miller, Miller, Miller get her out of here''

My thoughts were then interrupted  by Bellamy yelling.

''I was there-,'' Miller and another guy grab Octavia and start dragging her out,''Hey,get off of me!'' Octavia shout.

I turn and look at Lincoln  who's trying to get out of the restraints desperately while watching Octavia, he looks over at me and I can tell its a silent plea.

I look back to Octavia who's still fighting against Miller and the other guy, I let out a sigh and walk over to them. I push the other guy off her and then turn to Miller, I grab his wrist and twist is off from Octavia's arm and keep twisting till his arm is at an odd angle.

''Ahhh'' he lets of a painful yell.

Bellamy goes to the step forward,'' Uh uh uh'' I tut while twisting Millers arm more making him yell,Bellamy stops.

I look back at Miller,'' If you ever touch Octavia again, I'll do a lot worse then just twisting your arm''

I lick my lips and crouch a little so I'm in front of him,'' I'll cut it off'' with that I toss him to the ground and watch him whither in pain.

I look to Octavia who gives me a small smile of appreciation ,'' Go'' I say gently.

She goes to ague but I shake my head and walk up to her ,'' I'll watch after him'' I whisper in her ear and then nod toward the ladder. She lets out a breath and gives me another little smile then goes toward the ladder but when she reaches it she turns back around to Bellamy.

'' I dont even think he speaks English, he wont understand you'' she then goes down the ladder.

I turn around and watch Bellamy get in Lincolns face ,'' Oh i think he will''

Oh Lincoln, your definatly in for it.

''What the hell was that, are we under attack or not''

I let out a little laugh at Bellamy.

Someone comes up the ladder ,'' Storm damage, we're okay''

''We're going to try this one more time. What's your name, where's your camp, how many of you are there''.

'' I dont believe that your little interrogation is working Bellamy'' I tell him.

He looks over at where i'm sitting agitated and was about to respond but Miller called him over.

''Hey, check it out'' Miller started looking through all Lincolns things,''What is all this stuff''

'' The hell knows with these people'' Bellamy says while picking up a book.

I hear Lincoln start grunting and fighting again so i look in his direction.

'' i think we found something he doesn't want us to see Miller ''

I stand up, intrigued, and walk over to them, looking over Bellamy shoulder down at the book. Bellamy flips through pages of pretty impressive drawings but he suddenly stops on one. I stare down at the well drawn sketch of Octavia then look up at Lincoln, eyebrow raised.

I walk over to him and whisper quietly,'' I though we were the enemy'' I give him a sly look then walk back over to Bellamy acting complete oblivious to the glare Lincolns giving the back of my head. I look back over Bellamy's shoulder and see he's stopped at another sketch but this one make me slightly more alert.

''This is our camp and i'm guessing if I count all those marks.... '' he gestures to the multiple lines on the opposite page,'' ten are crossed out, that's how many people we've lost''

He quickly gets up and walks over to Lincoln,'' you've been watching us ever since we got here''

After some time of watching Bellamy and the others I end up going back to siting down.Though this time I stay staring at Lincoln, whether or not I should actually help him escape, contemplating how I would do it and should I go tell Talon. I know they must be close so he will probably notice if Lincoln has disappeared and if he notices.....no, when he notices,  others of his people wont be long behind.

''Get the hell out of my way''

I sigh and look over to Clarke then back to Lincoln.

''Its okay, let her through'' Bellamy says

I watch as Clarke steps near Lincoln looking over him horrified.

'' Well if he didn't hate us before he does now'' Clarke tells Bellamy

I stand up,'' Oh you have no idea'' they all look at me ,'' If you done this to me--'' I cut myself off pretending to think,''Oh wait, that would never happen because I'd kill you before you could...Ah.. better yet, i'd kill you the second you thought it''

Bellamy looks at me, then to Clarke, he grabs her arm and pulls her to the side,''Hows Finn?''

''Alive'' she answers ,'' His people will care. How long till they figure out where he is..and what happens when they do. I mean when they come looking for him... they will Bellamy''

''Relax princess, no one saw us take him, he was chained up in that cave the entire time and thanks to the storm we didn't see a soul on the way back''

bang

We all look up at the roof as the storm throw things our way, literally.

''His people are already killing us'' he shows her the book,'' how many more of our people need to die for you to realize that were fighting a war''

She shuts the book abruptly,'' We're not soldiers Bellamy''

I frown a little,'' Speak for yourself''

She ignores me and continues,'' Look at him, we cant win''

'' Your right we cant.... if we don't  fight.'' Bellamy paused in between each word.

''Clarke!!,'' Raven yells out,'' He's seizing!!''

''On my way'' she quickly tries to leave but I grab her arm and pull her,'' Hey-''

''Remember what I said, the knife isn't the problem'' I let her go and she stares at me utterly confused.

''Clarke!!'' she snaps out of it and quickly goes down the ladder.

I continue to watch as Bellamy tries to get answers from Lincoln.

Bang Bang Bang

''Hey!!,'' bang bang bang  ,''Open the door!!'', bang bang bang bang

Miller goes over and opens it but stays in the way so Clarke can't come up the ladders.

''Get out of my way Miller, now!!'' he moves from Clarke's way.

Once she comes up, Octavia not far behind, she storms towards Lincoln holding up his knife.

''Whats on this'' she say to him angrily.

Ah.. shes figured it out.

Bellamy steps towards her,'' What are you talking about?''

'' He poisoned the blade, all this time he knew Finn was going to die no matter what we did, what is it!!'' she shouts,'' is there an antidote''

''Clarke'' Octavia says,'' he doesn't understand you''

I let out a small quiet laugh, if only she new.

'' The vile's'' Bellamy thinks quickly,'' its got to be here'' he hands her the small tin of vile's filled with multiple liquids.

''You'd have to be stupid to have a poison around this long without having an antidote''

Clarke turns towards Lincoln,'' Which one?'' she say desperately

Getting no response Bellamy tries,'' Answer the question''

Still only getting silence, Octavia now tries,'' Show us, please '' she say gesturing towards the vials.

'' Which one, our friend is dieing down there and you can stop that'' Clarke looks to Bellamy

he sighs,'' Ill get him to talk''

Immediately knowing what he meant I got up and go to stop him but I notice Lincoln move just barely. I take my gaze from Bellamy and look to Lincoln who is looking right back at me and moves his head from side to side so subtly that I barely caught it. I try to process why he doesn't want me stepping in but comply and step back, now just watching.

Bellamy stands in front of him and goes to punch him in the face but Octavia grabs his arm,'' Bellamy no''

He pushes her off,'' He wants Finn to die, why can't you see that... do you want him to live or not'' he looks to Clarke.

Clarke doesn't say a work.

''Clarke you even said it yourself, this is not who we are'' Octavia tries to reason,'' he was protecting me, he saved my life''

'' We're  talking about Finns life!!'' Bellamy yells at her

Bellamy and Octavia both look to Clarke but Clarke only looks to Bellamy,'' do it''

''No'' Octavia breathes out and faces Lincoln ,'' Just tell us''

Miller pulls Octavia away and holds her back while Bellamy walks up and cuts away Lincolns shirt.

''Your going to show us the antidote or your going o wish you had'' Bellamy tells him then walks to stand in front of him with a strap in hand which has a large clip on the end.

''Bellamy no, please'' his sister begs

Bellamy strikes Lincolns chest, Lincoln grunting but not making a sound more.

he does it again. Clarke then rushes forward and puts all the vials on the floor,''Please, which ones the antidote''

''Just tell them'' Octavia pleads

Still silence

Bellamy places a hand on Clarke shoulder,'' Clarke'' she stands up and moves to the side.

Bellamy continues to whip Lincoln and i now, so badly in anger, want to step in but each time I go to get up he still subtly shakes his head.

''Enough!!'' Octavia yells out

''Clarke!'' Raven suddenly yells,'' he's getting worse''

''We're running out of time'' she runs to the antidotes,'' which one, which one is it. If you tell us they'll stop, please tell us which is the antidote and they'll stop this'' Lincoln stays in silence

Bellamy, worn, chucks the recreational whip to the side in anger,'' if that doesn't work maybe this will'' he walks towards Lincoln with a very big nail.

I dont step in, knowing that as soon as I take one step Lincoln will shake his head at me so I stay where I'm standing and just watch.

''Clarke you dont have to be here for this,'' Bellamy tells her knowing that this is hard for her to watch.

She shakes her head,'' I'm not leaving till I get that antidote''

He walks forward and stabs it through Lincolns hand, the sound of bones crunching were evident throughout the room.

''Whats taking so long'' Raven shouted as she came up the ladder.

She walks toward Clarke,'' he stopped breathing''

''What''

''He started again but next time he might not''

''He wont tell us anything'' Clarke gestures towards Lincoln

Raven starts looking around,''Wanna bet''

I stand up as she goes over to two blue cables and pulls them out.

''What are you doing'' Bellamy questions

''Showing you something new'' she puts the two cable ends together creating an electrical charge then looks towards Lincoln.

She pushes them onto his chest and stomach making him yell out and the lights flicker.

''Which one is it'' she asks him

He looks up at Octavia, who is crying, then over to me and I get the message clearly.

''Come on'' she yells at him

I rush forward, grabbing her and spinning her to face me, she tries to push me off but instead I feel the very familiar electrical sensation course through me.

''You know why we're doing this right?'' my dad looks down at the ten year old me while my mum is sticking countless wires to me.

I sigh and look him in the eye,'' yes ''

''Your so strong and will continue to get stronger, never-''

''let anyone tell me different'' I finish

He smiles and kisses my forehead,'' That's my girl''

Raven, in shock, didn't pull the cables away. I stare at her blankly and watch her snap out of her shocked state  and back away though still looking at me in pure and utter disbelief. After a moment of silence she went back towards Lincoln, remembering what she first intended to do.

I stepped in front of him ''Enough'' I say while looking at her

'' He's letting Finn die'' she yells in despair, going to try to pass me again.

I pull out my dagger,'' Back off!!!''

''Embry, get out of the way'' she goes to step forward again.

'' Back off right now Raven or I'll make you regret it'' I spin my dagger around

She doesn't move straight away but after a minute of a silence and our stare off she slowly starts to back away.

''What do you want to do then, Finns dying'' she yells towards the end.

I turn towards Lincoln and walk forward so I can rest a hand upon his shoulder.

''Embr-''

''What ar-''

I cut off Clarke and Bellamy,'' Shut up'' I hiss at them

With my hand upon his shoulder I look in his eyes,'' chon daun?''

(which one?)

I can faintly here Octavia and Clarke gasp.

''osir're laik lukot nou veida, yumi'' I gesture between myself and him.

(we are friends not enemies, you and i)

He looks at me for a moment then looks down at the antidotes.

I point to the first one ,''dison?''

(this one)

He shakes his head and I point to the next one ''dison?''

He nods so I pick it up and turn around to some very shocked faces, I hold the small vial out to Clarke.

''Here''

''How di-'' Clarke tries

''Take it''

Clarke grabs the vial and goes down the ladder with Raven behind her.

Bellamy looks at me,'' How you know he'd understand''

''Doesn't matter''

''The hell it doesn't, you just spoke to a grounder, you knew he'd understand, how, and dont think that I dont remember you just getting electrocuted either, you didn't even wince?'' Bellamy says while walking up to me.

''Bellamy, stop asking me questions because I wont be telling you answers'' with that I go over to my back pack and grab a bottle of water. I walk back towards Lincoln but Bellamy grabs my arm.

''What do you think your doing''

I shrug his hand off,'' What does it look like''

His eyes flare with anger,'' Your not giving him water''

I smile at him,'' No, are you going to stop me'' I say darkly

He shakes his head in fury but moves aside.

I walk past him and up to Lincoln, I move the bottle up to his lips,''drein daun, ai lukot,''

(drink, my friend)

I watch as he drinks it greedily till its empty,'' Do you want some more?'' i ask as I move the bottle away.

He shakes his head.

I place my hand on his shoulder,'' I will get you out of here Lincoln''

He looks in my eyes for a moment then nods.

I watch Clarke carefully as she pulls the large nail out of Lincolns hand. Once its out she goes and grabs a wet cloth to wipe away all the blood but he keeps his hand in a fist.

I turn around and see Octavia come up, I turn back towards Clarke and watch her in amusement.

''Look, I need to clean this'' she tells Lincoln but he keeps struggling

Octavia walks over,'' Here, let me try'' gesturing  for Clarke to give her the cloth

Clarke looks at her then passes it to her.

I watch as Octavia looks at Lincoln then slowly raises the cloth to his hand, which is no longer in a fist. He lets her start to wipe away the blood.

''I never wanted him to get hurt Octavia, you have to know that ..... I just wanted to save Finn'' Clarke says to her meaningful

Octavia stops for a moment,'' For the record you didn't save Finn, that was Embry..but whatever you want to tell yourself to make you feel better''

Clarke stays silent then walks away and down the hatch.

''I'm so sorry, you saved my life and look....look at the things you had..'' Octavia breaths out

I walk forward,'' This isn't your fault Octavia''

''It feels like it''

''Well its not so stop thinking it is'' she turns and looks at me.

Octavia suddenly drops the cloth on the small table and lunges at me, her arms wrapping around me. I couldn't help but tense up but after a second I slowly wrapped my arms around her.

'' Thank you so much Embry'' she whispers out

I blink a few times and shake my head,'' Don't thank me''

She pulls back,'' I will because if you hadn't stepped in he could of died, so thank you'' she smiles at me.

I back away, a little uncomfortable at the close proximity,but smile back.

'' Are you good to clean this up'' I gesture to Lincolns hand.

she nods,'' I got it''

I nod then turn and make my way towards the hatch but Octavia suddenly calls out to me.

''Embry''

I turn and face her.

She continues,'' If you ever need to talk... I'm always here''

I nod with a small smile then go down the ladders and walk outside of the drop- ship, once I walk out I  look around the camp, which is completely destroyed. I have two options, one, to help clean up camp, two, to go find Talon and tell him that the people I'm with have kidnapped Lincoln because he kidnapped one of ours and chained her up.

Decisions decisions .

Decision made.

I'm definitely not helping these idiots clean and I don't need Talon knocking me out...... Again.
