Chapter 4- I'm With Family
04:24, 2 February 2025Nat did end up finding Selvig and she hit him in the head like she did Clint. I'm actually meeting up with the Avengers in the meeting room of the Helicarrier. To eat and for them to formally thank me.
I get into some clothes that Nat had bought me while she was in New York, because a hospital gown didn't suit me. It made me feel like I was going to die. I walked into the meeting room of the Helicarrier, and the smell of Pizza brought me back to life.
"Hey guys." I sit down.
"Thank you." They all say in unison.
"Guys. I wanted to say something. For one, I wanted to thank you guys for saving my life. And secondly, it may not be on your side, but to me, you guys' are family. Besides you Tony. You're literally family."
Clint looked shocked, "How are you related to Stark?"
"I'm his long-lost other planet yet same planet daughter."
"What's that supposed to mean? Are you half alien?" Clint asks.
"I was born in another dimension. From what I can tell, my mother could travel through different dimensions. As did I, when I needed it." I recall.
"Why, Lady Abigail, did you need it?" Thor asks.
"I had been stabbed. I was going to die. Until I popped up... where was it exactly?"
"You popped up in this room unconscious." Fury tells me.
"Sounds believable." I say.
"What did we gain exactly from stopping it earlier than it would've happened?" Coulson asks.
"Well, Coulson, you died in the other time around," He looks at me, shocked, "Loki opened up a portal in New York above Stark Tower and the Chitauri flowed in. A missile flew towards New York, and Tony put it in the portal. Tony came out of the portal last minute, his plan working, but gaining him some PTSD. So, Coulson, it gave you a chance to get your Captain America cards signed."
"And," I continue, "it saved New York from being destroyed completely. Oh, and some people used the tech from the Chitauri weapons to make new weapons. A boat tore in half because of that. Spider-Man wouldn't listen to Tony because for once in Tony's life, he was wrong. Then Spider-Man was given the offer to join the Avengers."
"Did he?" Hill asks.
"He declined." I answer, "Because somewhere in that mess of wrongness that was Tony Stark's idea for him, Spider-Man decided he would look after the little guy. But later on he was forced to join the Avengers anyway."
"He declined an offer to join the world's most elite superheroes?"
"Technically," I correct him, "You are Earth's only superheroes. But I do know for sure that no matter what, even if you guys were revealed as the earth's mightiest heroes the other time around, and you aren't now, Spider-Man will still become Spider-Man."
"Why don't you tell us his real name?" Capsicle asked.
"Because he isn't Spider-Man yet."
"Why not?" Nat asks.
"Easy." I reply, "He is for one, too young to be any kind of superhero. For two, he hasn't gotten his powers yet."
"How did he get his powers?" Clint asked.
"If I told you guys, you would warn the general public. It isn't something big or bad, it's just something that can't be avoided." I tell them.
"Lady Abigail, how did you switch dimensions?" Thor asked.
"For one," I order, "Stop calling me 'Lady', it's just Abigail. For two, did you not listen to what I said about my mom? My theory?"
"Sorry Abigail." Thor says, "But I think I know what your mother is. And you now."
"What?" I ask him.
"A long long time ago," He starts, "There were 2 people. Each of Asgard. They were betrothed to each other. They came to earth to find peace. Asgard was in a war. One of these people, was a Prince. My great-great-great uncle. He was the God of Time. His wife, she was the Goddess of the Multiverse. They had many children. Their children had children. Until it reached you and your mother. All of these children had the combination of the two's powers. This was unheard of."
"What do you mean?" I ask him, confused.
"My father, Odin, is the God of Death." Thor says, "My mother, Frigga, was the goddess of Love, Marriage, and Destiny. But me, as his child, am the God of Thunder. Children usually do not inherit the powers of their parents. But somehow, their children did."
"I think I know how they did." I say as a thought comes across my mind.
"By all means." Thor says, politely.
"My mother traveled to another dimension to have me. What if the child had to be born in another dimension than their parents to inherit their powers? In that dimension, there would be no gods or goddesses of the Multiverse and Time." I say.
"That may be it, Abigail." Thor has a smile on his face when he says this.
"Wait, if this is true, does it mean I'm your long lost 7th cousin or something?" I ask.
"I believe so." He says in thought.
"Wait, there's something I've always wanted to try and do..." I pause. "Lift the Mjölnir."
"Why? What's so important about the hammer?" Tony asks.
Me and Thor say in unison, "You have to be worthy to lift it."
"Can I try first?" Clint asks.
"Go ahead, all are welcome to try." Thor invites.
Clint tries to lift it.
He Fails
Tony tries to lift it.
He Fails
Cap tries to lift it.
He Fails
After everyone else who wants to try tries, it's my turn. I don't like being on the spot like this. Their eyes make me feel as if I'm going to spontaneously combust. Because they all look like they're waiting for the impossible to happen. And to them, they are. To me? Maybe.
