Chapter 24

Jennie and Taehyung arrived at Lisa and Jungkook's apartment. After last night, Taehyung and Jennie set another dinner date for season four but before they go to dinner, Taehyung books a golf session and they have a spa appointment at five o'clock for two hours.

"Okay, mommy and daddy will be spending time together again. Your daddy is a clingy one, more than you." Jennie whispered the last words and kissed his head.

Archie just giggles on Jungkook's hold when Jennie whispers, it tickles him on his ear.

"Why didn't you guys spend the night there?" Jungkook asked. "He has already been away for one night at mom's house, no way he will be taken away for two days." Jennie said. Jungkook and Taehyung look at each other, they already knew Jennie will be this protective mother.

Meanwhile, Lisa who's in the kitchen suddenly shouts. "Everything is done here!" She ran a little to the entrance door. "I already checked the bottle and the milk, the diaper bag is in our bedroom. His playpen is already set up in the living room."

Taehyung grabs Jennie's shoulders and pushes her away from Archie to not make a goodbye kiss longer. "Okay, we're going, goodbye baby, goodbye Jungkook and Lisa." Jennie waves to her baby until the door closes.

Taehyung and Jennie drive to New Jersey first to play golf for only nine holes since there's a spa they need to catch up. When Taehyung drives them with a caddy, Jennie feels the air breeze of september. It's still summer but the wind in the golf course makes it perfect for them to golf although the sun is about to get down.

"Do you think Archie will like golfing? Are you seeing him someday as a golfer?" Jennie started. "I like him being a golfer as a hobby, I want him to spend time with me hanging out doing something we like together. But, I think I like him being a doctor." Taehyung said.

"Doctor? That's new. I thought you would say something like "I want him to be a lawyer like us too." Jennie replied. "Nah, I want him not to be a burden for what we do. Most families just expect their children to continue what they do, but if he wants us to choose, I want him to be better than a lawyer so a doctor would be great."

"Why is that better than a lawyer?" Jennie asked, confused. "Look at what we do. We lie, fight, bargain, threaten somebody's life, slyly, and are good at arguments that we don't know deep down whether it's true or not because we only represent what they gave us." Taehyung explained it to her.

"Kinda true, but for me I just hope someday you'll be a judge." Taehyung snapped his head towards her. "I thought you would be a judge?"

"Why?", "I don't know, you have a law firm. Meanwhile, I am working in a business industry doing paperwork for them, that's barely a lawyer." Taehyung answered.

Jennie looks at him and is curious about something. "Taehyung, did you not like what you are doing right now?" She asked. Taehyung plays with his lips while looking away to the road. "Maybe? Kinda.", "Why did you take it in the first place?" Jennie finally asked.

Taehyung suddenly frowned and finally answered her, "Because I want to get out of that accident. It's been haunting me for months, plus it's good money since I'll be a boss there."

Jennie, taken aback by his answer, doesn't know it hit him that hard about what happened with his twin brother. She caresses his head and kisses his cheek. "Do you plan something for yourself in the next five years, maybe?"

"I actually did. There's an opening job for a judge in two weeks, I thought about nudging you to it but with your law firm and Archie it would be impossible for you to want to try." Taehyung answered. "Then, you try."

Taehyung stopped the caddy and arrived at the first stop. "Nah, I still want to enjoy what I do right now. My salary is more than you by the way" Taehyung wink. Jennie just rolled her eyes and got out to grab her golf stick.

While Taehyung and Jennie are enjoying their afternoon at the golf course, Lisa and Jungkook are enjoying their time with Archie.

"Come on, Archie. You can do it, baby! Come on!" Lisa said with a baby voice.

Jungkook is in the kitchen, preparing the milk for Archie, listens to her and gets curious, so he approaches the bedroom. When he's in the doorway, he sees Lisa tap the bed to make Archie do something.

"What are you doing?" He asked.

"Make him prone. They said at this age, babies can start to be prone, I got curious so I want to try." Jungkook finally remembered something. Taehyung once told him what happened about a week ago.

"Oh no, you can't do that.", "Why?" Lisa frowned.

"Jennie noona never saw him prone for the first time. Archie did that in front of her mom and Taehyung made her mom keep it a secret. Jennie noona will freak out if she knows Archie's first time isn't with her." Jungkook said.

But, after he said that a miracle happened. Archie suddenly turns his body and is finally prone. Lisa and Jungkook are shocked at each other.

"We're doomed." Jungkook said. Lisa gritted her teeth, she felt so wrong but she was also happy that she did that. "Uhm, maybe if they arrive we could make him lay down again? But look! I did it!" Lisa is still cheering.

Jungkook laughed and approached both of them. He lay on the bed too. "Do you want one?" Jungkook whispered.

Lisa was surprised while looking at him with her wide doll eyes. Jungkook noticed it so he cleared his throat out of nervousness. "Uhm, nevermind. I guess you're not wanting one yet."

"No!" Lisa shouts but Jungkook frowned. He thought it was true. "No! I meant you're wrong. I want one but don't you think we have to figure out what we are first? I mean we're married but it's not serious." Lisa said.

Jungkook chuckled while picking up Archie to help him drink the milk. "Then, what are you suggesting?"

"Clear up with your family first, meet my dad too, and start planning our future, maybe? That's what I thought so far." Lisa said.

Jungkook laughed at how much Lisa already prepared what they could do for their marriage. But when he's about to answer her, Archie starts to make a first step of crawling.

Jungkook and Lisa were shocked, they couldn't say anything nor be happy with it.

"Jungkook." Lisa whispered. "Do you see what I see?", "Yes."

"What are we going to do?" Lisa asked again. "Keep this until we die. Jennie noona can't know about this, ever." Jungkook answered.

"Okay."

Meanwhile, after Jennie and Taehyung golfed for two hours, they drove back to New York to go to Four Seasons for a spa and dinner date. They really had a great time doing a spa for couples. Jennie was really happy and completely forgot about Archie for hours, which was Taehyung's plan all along. She has to lose a bit of her anxiety.

When they soak in the tub together after getting a massage, Taehyung offers her champagne. Jennie suddenly widens her eyes and she contemplates whether she should take it or not. Should she be faking it to drink the champagne? But Taehyung would notice it.

"Uhm i think i'll pass. I still don't feel well from yesterday's cold sweat, I just want to soak myself. Could you ask for orange juice for me, baby?" Taehyung didn't think too much and just nodded to go outside to ask for orange juice.

"You still don't feel good? Do you want us to go to emergency after we have dinner? I worry it'll get worse if it's still going on." Taehyung suggested but Jennie immediately shook her head.

"No! I'm fine, it's just I think I have a new allergy, and I already made an appointment with my doctor to do an allergy test next week to find out." Taehyung just shrugged with Jennie's lie.

When her orange juice arrives, Taehyung and Jennie soak in a tub and they enjoy about twenty minutes of pampering in it. After Jennie and Taehyung get a mani-pedi, they change their clothes and go straight to dinner at the terrace suite.

Jennie got confused with this. "I thought we won't be staying the night today?", "Yes, we aren't but I would like to have a romantic dinner and they only serve it on the balcony of the suite, so i booked a hotel room just for tonight. We can check out at ten or eleven."

Jennie feels bad that Taehyung prepared all of this and the suite seems incredible. "Hey, hey, don't put on that face! I'm fine, really. Let's just have dinner and maybe before we go to Jungkook's we could watch a movie while eating dessert." Taehyun suggested.

"Okay but no alcohol. I still want to sleep with Archie tonight, and you're driving.", "Yes, Ma'am." Jennie just makes an excuse about no alcohol rules but she has to try to prevent it at any cost.

Taehyung raises their non-alcoholic mojito and invites her to cheer. "To our marriage and Archie!" Jennie smiles and raises her glass to cheer. "Thank you baby." She kisses his lips and starts to eat.

"Taehyung, I'm sorry if these past months I've focused too much on Archie and abandoned you. I shouldn't do that but I guess it's a first mother thing, I still try to learn." Taehyung frowned. "Jen, I swear to God if you keep mentioning it, I'll probably throw you on the bed and we're not gonna get out of this room until tomorrow. Just don't think too much." Jennie giggles and nods.

"Okay, but kidding aside, I start to think about that daycare you talk about. I researched about it recently and it turns out they provide excellent care. Maybe this time we have to lose a bit, and let mom go back to LA to handle her business." Jennie started.

"See, I told you. It's alright if we're not think too much." Taehyung replied.

"Thank you, Taehyung. I really appreciate this so much, I just hope we could have this more often. If we're not have Archie too soon, I think we will be more intimate than usual, don't you think?" Jennie asked.

"Uhm, yes, but you know what? The moment I married you that day in the courthouse, I thought about having kids immediately with you. I am just done with the honeymoon stage, I want to take care of something precious just for the two of us." Jennie smiles at him, she's a lucky girl.

Most husbands just freak out when they're watching their wives in labor but Taehyung, he's really calm although when she tried to push the baby out of her vagina and she glanced at Taehyung, she could see his sweat all over his face. He's so nervous but tries to hold it so Jennie won't be worried too. She's glad to have Taehyung by her side.

But, what comes next makes Jennie feel anxious. "So, when we have Archie it's all I want for now. I think this time we have a little family. It's enough for us at the moment. We are still not safe when there's a criminal on the loose, maybe we could postpone it for a year maybe? Is it okay? And it's good for Archie to not be challenged once he grew up with a little brother or sister that has a close age with him. If we postpone it for one to three years, he will try to be a good big brother." Taehyung said.

"uhm , yes, of course. We could try later.", "Do you still take pills?" Truthfully, the reason why Jennie suddenly got pregnant again is because she stopped taking birth control.

That time when Taehyung noticed she brought one to south hamptons, Jennie didn't take it at all, or a morning pill she got just in case. She doesn't know why she decided to not have protective sex. Deep inside her heart, maybe if she took another big step with getting pregnant again, she will be braver to continue life after everything happened.

Jennie wants to help herself by taking a big risk to be braver but her mistake is to not discuss this with Taehyung. Now, she's more anxious than before that Taehyung will not be happy about the news. Taehyung keeps reminding her that what's best for her is to have a safe plan, not a good plan.

"Jen? Why? Did something happen? Is the pills a problem so you have this cold sweat?" Taehyung is confused because Jennie just gets silent and does not answer his question.

Jennie jolted and shook her head. "No, no, you just remind me to buy more because this morning I ran out of them. I will talk to my doctor about the prescription." Taehyung believes her and they continue to eat. 

They go back to Jungkook's apartment at eleven o'clock. They just guessed Archie must be sleeping.

"Hey, is Archie sleeping?" Taehyung whispered once Jungkook opened the door. "Yeah, yeah, he's in our bedroom. Lisa fell asleep too with him."

Jungkook opens the door wider so they can enter his apartment. "I already folded the playpen and all his things back to his diaper bag. He really plays so hard with Lisa, that's why they fall asleep together. They're literally giggling a lot." Jungkook told them.

Jennie and Taehyung laugh when they imagine it. When Jungkook opens the door, three of them see how Lisa holds Archie in her arms so he wouldn't fall or sleep far away. They're in awe seeing the view right now.

Jungkook slowly takes Archie from her hands, and brings him to Jennie. "Hello, baby. Mommy misses you so much." Jennie kisses his cheek, but Archie just keeps sleeping.

Jennie gets out of their room first and Taehyung follows, but when he's about to walk Jungkook grabs his arms. Taehyung was confused and looked at Jungkook. "What?"

"Archie crawled for one step for the first time." Taehyung widens his eyes. "I have the video, I will send it to you." Jungkook said.

Taehyung just gritted his teeth. It keeps getting worse, Jennie keeps missing anything in Archie's life. Taehyung doesn't mind he misses this thing because he knows he has a job to focus on and Archie's protection is more important than all of his firsts but for Jennie it's like seeing him receive an award. She has to be there every step of the way.

"Make Lisa shut up about this too." Taehyung whispered back. "I already handled it.", "Good." Jungkook and Taehyung shake hands.  

In the morning, Jennie makes breakfast for three of them and Archie just plays in his playpen. He woke up early this morning. When Jennie blends Archie's food in the blender, she waits for it while watching Archie blankly. He keeps swinging his arms about doing something, after a while Jennie notices he moves his body to the side. Jennie was really surprised.

She turns off the blender and picks up her phone to record it. She still records it from the kitchen quietly, she is just scared that if she approaches him, it will fail.

"Come on baby, you can do it." Jennie whispered to herself.

He is finally in a prone position. Jennie gasped but she kept waiting for the next step he did and he did. Archie suddenly crawls on his first step but he still can't support his body so he only takes one step.

"OH MY GOD!" Jennie screamed. "Aahhh!" She approaches Archie immediately and kisses his head. "I'm so proud of you baby! Do you want to keep going?" She is still recording him but he tries to wiggle his hands and it still can't move.

"What?! What's happening?!" Taehyung gets out of the bedroom with topless and only a towel wrapped around his waist. His hair is still wet, he runs straight from the bathroom.

He is confused because nothing happened, it's just Jennie filming Archie prone. Soon he understands what's going on. "Oh baby! You finally crawl? Do you want to show daddy and mommy?" He sits on the floor where Archie tries to crawl.

"He did the first time! Oh my god, finally! I thought Archie would be late for everything but thank god he did it today." Taehyung gritted his teeth, if only she knew he did that for a week now. But he keeps it to himself so Jennie won't be devastated.

Last night, before going to sleep and Jennie was already asleep, Taehyung quietly saw a video that Jungkook sent to him. He laughed quietly because how cute Archie was and there's Lisa and Jungkook who argue in the background because Lisa kept encouraging Archie to crawl more but Jungkook nagged her to not force him to do it.

Taehyung immediately deleted that video so if Jennie checks his phone, she won't be able to find it. It's like he keeps a mistress in his phone, he is completely guilty about it.

Seeing Jennie smile widely and be this happy makes Taehyung really glad he tried to keep this secret for long. She has no worries around her face anymore, she is completely calm and relaxed.

"I will send this to mom and Ashley too. By the way, Namjoon, my new senior partner, invited us to have dinner. Just the three of us. He wants to know more about his senior partner. Yesterday he invited Ashley for dinner too and she feels like it was a date because Namjoon is a really dreamy guy outside of work. I think Ashley has a thing for him. She's doomed." Jennie said.

"Sounds good. Let's have it today." Jennie nodded.

On the way to work, Jennie finally assigned the daycare for Archie if he turns out one year. She has to start not to worry from now until she feels safe enough for him to be put in daycare.

"Still not telling Taehyung yet? How long are you gonna keep it? Until the baby tells him by themself?" Ashley nagged her when Jennie shook her head when Ashley asked her.

They're in her office having coffee together before going to a meeting with a board to welcome Namjoon as their senior partner.

"I think maybe after dinner with Namjoon tonight? I bought a teddy bear at the daycare this morning. There's a baby store beside it, and i notice there's onesie said 'I am #1 big brother' I hope Taehyung gets it, he is always dumb when it comes to sweet things." Ashley laughed when she heard it.

"So, how's the so-called senior partner dinner thingy last night?" Ashley's face suddenly changed once Jennie mentioned it.

"It's getting weirder through time.", "What happened?" Jennie confused.

"We're going to late night museum at MoMA." Jennie laughed as soon as she heard it. "It's completely a date!" Jennie screams in her face while laughing. Ashley just frowned.

"Hey, don't! Just don't! Okay! I'm so ashamed of it, it's weird! Now, i can't face him right now because last night it's clearly a date! Don't you think so?" Ashley whined.

"Yes, and an intimate one. Museum date. Wow, it's really something special" Jennie still laughing. "Why he even made plans for dinner one by one with his senior partner anyway?" Ashley thought. "He said he wants to completely know personally about his partners, which now I think it's bullshit because he invited me and Taehyung not just by myself." Jennie answered.

When they are still debating about it, it's like a devil's call, Namjoon shows up in front of Jennie's door. "Jen?"

She turned around to him. "Oh hi, Namjoon. We just talked about your dinner with Ashley, she said she really had a great time at MoMA." Ashley kicks her leg below her desk to make her shut up but Jennie just in urge to laugh.

Meanwhile, Namjoon just smiles and doesn't notice anything weird. "Oh, thank god. I hope you won't think it was lame. It's my favorite thing to do."

"See, Ashley? He wants to share something he likes with you." Jennie said but of course there's something between her line and Ashley just rolled her eyes at Jennie.

"By the way, if you don't mind, Jen. I have three tickets for the VIP Night Museum at The Met. I know the director there, so he gave me a free ticket. Maybe you and Taehyung like it too?" Jennie suddenly stops her urge to laugh and looks at Ashley.

Ashley frowned when she heard it. "Oh yes, Taehyung really loves to go to museums, he never goes to the Met, he's not from New York. We're really looking forward to it." Jennie said.

Namjoon nods immediately. "Okay, i already made a reservation at Sistina near there at seven for dinner first, how about that?"

"Sure, sure. See you at seven." Jennie said and Namjoon just left.

Jennie and Ashley were still quiet when he left. Jennie cleared her throat before she spoke, "So. . . the museum thinks it's nothing, I guess?" She checks Ashley's reaction and she just stares at her coffee blankly. Jennie notices something.

"Oh my god! You like him!" Jennie quickly accused her. "What?! No!" Jennie arched her eyebrows.

"Ashley, you were disappointed when he planned a museum night for me and Taehyung. You thought it's a date thingy he does! You were really looking forward to it yesterday, weren't you?"

Ashley just frowned and Jennie giggle because she's right. There's an office romance already in her law firm.
