Survive or Die

What if a gamer's dream came true but turned out to be a nightmare in the end? What if a virtual world become reality? What if you die in the game and you die in the real world too? These are all questions I asked myself at one point in my life........when I started Sword Art Online.

"Bye Ava! I'm off to practice!" My sister, Aiko yelled and I heard the door shut.

"Done." I breathed as I finished my advance homework from school that my teachers wanted done by tomorrow.

I could honestly care less.

The only thing running through my mind was that I could finally play. I walk over to the NerveGear and stare at it.

My escape. I thought.

I take a deep breath and put it on. I plug it in and lay down on my bed. I smile at the though of just entering this fantastic new game.

"LINK START!" I shouted and colors start flying everywhere around me.(A/N:You guys know that part XD.)

I put in my gender, username and other junk that wasn't really that important so I could finally start play. The screen went dark before I open my virtual eyes.

Sword Art Online.

It's been awhile sense the beta.I thought.

Wonder what's change?

I look up to see the ads. You kidding?!

Oh come on that's just disgusting!activate ad. Blocker.I thought but then a sign comes up and says to block ads it's 29.99$.

I chuckle at the stupidness.

I'm gonna burn this fucker to the ground.(Sound familiar guys?XP.)

"Um excuse me?" I hear and turn to see this teenage girl, a little younger that me, maybe by a year with long fiery red hair and sea green eyes.

"Uh yea?" I ask back.

"Can you help me with this game? You seem like you know what your doing, I just thought if you can help me." She mumbled.

Should I help her?

Oh come on Ava don't be such a jackass.

"Sure. Let's go outside of town though. I can teach you more there." I say, grinning to her.

Her begging face suddenly turned to an excited expression, making her eyes lid up.

"Thank you so much! God I owe you."She cheered, I gave her the best smile I could make.

She seems like a nice girl.

----Outside of Town----

The bore pushed her back, making her fall to her butt and forcing her HP go lower as well.

"Congrats. You just been defeated by a pig."I joked sarcastically.

"Fuck you man that's like the pig from hell!" She cried.

Little girl knows some big words, huh?

"Oh really?" I grabbed a rock from the ground and waited until I felt my sword skills ready, then I threw it at the bore, It hit directly at It's center, making it's HP go down (but not completely).

She stared at me in shock and surprise.

"You just gotta wait until you feel you sword skills increase and then you attack."I say. She takes a deep breath and she takes out her Straight Back Knife.She aimed towards the pig and I could notice her concentration on the bite in front of her, suddenly, she strike down at the pig. As soon as she sliced at it, the pigs HP decreased all the way down, forcing it exploded into crystals.

"Great job." I grinned at her. She smiled back.

"Well, It seems like I got master skills for killing a boss." She said, slyly.

"Um...sorry to break it to you sweetie, but that wasn't a boss."I tell her and she screams.

"WHAT?! But that was so hard!"

"Yea that's like the lowest thing you can kill." I say laughing as she yells her heart out. She finally stopped and sighed.

"Well that was a waste. Anyways, it was nice meeting you..." She says and then looks at the top of my head to find out what my username was.

"Ava?" She asked and I nodded.

I had decided to use my real name for my character, their was no harm if I didn't tell anyone my last name, so I was safe.

"Cool name. Anyways, nice meeting you but I have a pizza on the way plus I didn't finish my homework." She spoke, shyly, a small blush appearing on her cheeks.

"Well nice meeting you too...Minako. I'll see you tomorrow?"I questioned, she smiled and nodded. As she entered her menu, I started walking away until she got my attention by saying my name.

"Yeah?" I turned back to her.

"Uh I don't see a the log out button." She said.

What?

"It's right here." I say, standing next to her and opening my menu but I didn't see the log out button.

What? I thought.

This can't be.

"You were a beta tester right?" She wondered as I gave her a nod."Do you know what's going on?" I shook my head no.

"WHAT?! My homework and PIZZA!" She screamed.

"Calm down Minako. Maybe it's just a bug." I say, unsure myself of what was the exact problem.

"How long do you think it will take to fix it?" She asked.

"No idea." I answer.

Suddenly, a bright, white light flashed in my eyes.

Wait..

This is a forced transportation.

Why?

Minako come into my sight again, but I look around and see possibly all of the players playing SAO.

"Ava do you know what's going on?" Minako asked. She looked terrified like if she was inside of those horror films.

She shouldn't be scared,

This is just a game.

Games can't hurt us..

"No idea." I answer her.

The sky beings to be covered in red warning signs.

"What's that?" Minako gasped.

"Pretty sure they call that a warning sign." I spoke sarcastically.

She asked something,

I just answered.

"Smartass." She mumbled.

The sky started bleeding, forming into a cloaked figure.

"Man there really working for that R rating." I hear someone say in the back but I ignore it. It's what you tend to do after dealing with so much bullshit.

"Oh, it's a person." I hear and face-palm.

Really?

I couldn't tell.

"Welcome gamers my name is Akihiko Kayaba....."

-----AFTER HIS SPEECH-----

It was quiet after he left.

No one spoke a word.

No one dared too.

What the hell were you supposed to say after a man tell you that your forever stuck in a VR game?

"WE'RE FUCKED!" I hear.

Never mind...

Everyone started panicking, I take Minako by the hand and run to were it's safer. She was still a little shocked, not moving a much and the expression was stuck on her face, she didn't change much either she still has her green eyes but her red hair was up to the tips of her ears.

I changed, but I honestly could care less.

My long blue hair in the game turned into my shortish brown hair and my eyes turned brown and not dark blue.

"Minako I'm heading to the next town to level up. Are you coming?" I asked her. She bites her lip, not facing me for a couple of seconds.

"Well..um...I got this game with my friends in the real world and I was hoping to find them. We could beat this together, But if you want to come with us I would love to have you with us." A soft smile appeared on her lips.

"Sorry Minako I would love too but I really want to just beat this game. So I feel like I should do this myself not with a guild." I tell her, not meeting her gaze but staring at the floor.

"Oh." I hear a hint of disappointment in her voice."That's fine. But I hope to see you again Ava. Friends?"She said taking out her hand. I shook it.

Before I walked away I told her something.

"Survive this game Minako. So I can see you in the other world."I tell her and she nods. Then, I start running out of town.

Images of my mother and Aiko start popping into my head.

I have to survive this.

No.

A wolf monster came into my way and started running towards me, ready to attack. I took out my sword and started running faster.

I WILL SURVIVE THIS!!

I screamed a battle cry as I cut the wolf in half. I started running again not looking back to what my life once was.

I can't turn back...

I have people to fight for!
