Mature Content Ahead No POV

Some months have passed since Logan's proposal under the midnight sky. Through their journey they've learned and grown, finding peace in each other. In the forest of Brazil, they walk surrounded by the heart of nature.

Estelle requested this location, missing her home back in the States. Although the trees are far different from the simple ones in her backyard, it still soothes the ache in her chest. This is what she desires. But to go back so soon, she doesn't know if she's ready.

"Estelle."

Looking at Logan, she smiles brightly, "Yes?"

His features are relaxed, grin soft as he holds the golden necklace tightly.

"Turn around."

She does so, confused as a light chuckle escapes her lips. Dangling the necklace before her she whispers his name softly, allowing him to put it on.

Laced gold, wrapped around a light blue gem, touching it with the edge of her fingertips she turns around kissing him gently. He picks her up, enjoying her warmth mixing with his. Parting she whispers softly, "You know technically we're supposed to be planning a wedding."

He hums softly, "Is that what you want to do?"

She thinks for a moment, quickly dreading it, "Not really."

He chuckles a bit, "Then we'll worry about that later-"

A familiar charm rings in his bag, putting me down Estelle grows worried. The X-Men are calling him, meaning something urgent is taking place. Urgent enough that they have to call him. Looking at each other, it doesn't take long for them to leave behind the country.

For a creeping fear to spread through Estelle's mind.

Arriving in the States, the drive back feels a bit deafening. At least for Estelle, she doesn't want to return, gone for almost the best part of the year she didn't think they'd call. Arriving they find the pressing issue, not an alien invasion or a sentinel attack, but a will. Charles's will.

The same will that makes Magneto the head of the X-Men.

Estelle POV

I don't know much about Magneto, aside from what I'm told on the news. From what I heard, this situation is nothing good. Logan and I decided to stay while this is all sorted out.

We get a short welcome, but everyone seems to be worried about the future of the X-men more than anything else. Within these days, I try to adjust, while it's nice waking up with AC, it's not so nice waking up at the ceiling that has a history of sticking out after a near-death experience.

Holding onto Logan, he kisses my chest gently, making me feel at ease. Lacing his fingers with mine I smile as we mumble our good mornings, followed by sweet kisses of passion. Magneto has been busy, saving humans and mutants alike, confusing the public.

Slipping into the kitchen, I brew a cup of tea. Greeted by Jean I smile softly, "Morning, how are you and the baby doing?"

She smiles, "Good, how are you-."

Stopping, a smile edges on her lips, "Rouge! Storm!"

They rush in hearing her calls, getting worried I walk over to her, "Jean!? What's wrong!"

The girls come in but her smile never fades, taking my hand, the golden band shines under the light.

"Logan proposed!"

They surround me, and with everything going on it slipped my mind to tell them the news. I chuckle, "Yeah, we're getting married."

Congratulating me I smile softly, making the worry I once felt slip away. I forgot how nice it was to have this.

Friends.

We spend the morning chatting over breakfast, catching up, and even Jean allowing me the opportunity to feel the baby kick in excitement. The air is so warm, you could bake a pie. After a while, we disperse, and while the X-men continue to worry I wander into the music room.

Noticing the thick layer of dust, I smile before picking up a violin. Tuning it I pull a cord before fitting the bow, a sweet melody fills the air. Calm, I go on, allowing time to slow, and soon allowing the song to come to a peaceful end.

Clapping breaks the peace, from one man, Magneto.

I remain friendly, but cautious before I take a bow.

"A beautiful song."

I smile softly, "Thank you. We haven't been properly introduced, my name is Estelle Steward. You must be Magneto."

"Yes, I don't see you during the meetings."

Shaking my head, "No, I'm not an X-Men. Just a mutant."

Looking around I find an empty glass that was left behind, touching it, sand covers the table before reverting back to the clear dish.

"Regression and Progression."

He seems amazed by the display, "It's a shame, wouldn't you reconsider? Joining the X-Men, we could use you."

Politely I decline, "The battlefield isn't meant for me."

Before he could persist, Logan steps in, clearly irritated by Magneto.

"And she should stay away from it."

Walking over to me, I feel secure by his side, Magneto smiles, "Of course, if you ever change your mind you know where to find me."

Walking away, Logan and I are alone. Looking at him, I smile and whisper, "You came just in time, I was getting a bit nervous."

He smiles, placing his hand on my cheek.

"Be careful around him."

"I will."

Closing the door, Logan takes the time to fill me in on what's going on. From the truth about Xavier being far from this planet to the unknown plans of Magneto. Kissing my cheek, I thank him, appreciating his honesty. Even in my comfort, the worry returns, as the edged of my mind slowly ache.

He leaves to attend another meeting, I take the time to start on dinner, Jubilee helps me, allowing us to set the tone. And when the meeting is over they collect their plates. Everyone is clearly tense, angry, and confused, but the food calms them.

Getting ready to wind down for the night, I sit on the bed legs parted as Logan licks and sucks on my clit. Doing my best to conceal my moans, I grip his hair roughly pulling him closer. I mumble softly, "Logan..."

Meeting his soft gaze as he doubles his efforts, determined for me to meet my high.

Maybe he could tell I was on edge today, or he was starved for something that wouldn't settle his stomach. But as I dance on the edge of ecstasy, we're pulled out of our moment by the sound of helicopter blades outside. Parting from me he rubs his face clean, keeping his focus on me he kisses my cheek.

"Stay here."

Rushing out, I take a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. Peaking out the window watching as they call for Magneto, demanding for him to stand trial, he goes willingly. Getting dressed I meet them downstairs, watching as the X-Men leave to oversee Magneto's fate.

Logan, Jean, and I stay behind.

Watching the news with Logan, hours go by. Leaving and returning with coffee and tea we watch the trial. Logan is ready to help, but I hope the bunch will be able to handle the situation. Hearing Jean's groan in pain, I turn to look at her, seeing her expression reflect it. Panting softly she mumbles, "He's...he's here."

Shocked, frustration fills me as Logan shows his blades, "Who? Apocalypse?"

"NO! The baby!"

Jean and I fuss at him, eyes widened she tosses his jacket and keys, "Oh crap."

Getting in the backseat with her, Logan takes the wheel. Holding her hand tightly, I help with her breathing exercises as Logan speeds down the road. My heart leaps as he drives on the sidewalk.

He shouts at the pedestrians, "Get out the way!"

I look at Jean, "Um, think you can-"

She moves the people out of the way just in time before crying out. She squeezes my hand tighter but I don't mind the pain as I smile gently, "Almost there."

The pain she feels is enough to rip the jeep roof clean off. Luckily, Logan drifts into the hospital parking lot, stopping the car near the double doors. Making it inside they refuse us, trying to turn her away. Logan grabs the doctor's shirt, "What do you mean, don't do mutant births?"

Rage and panic fill me at his words as I shout, "WHAT!?"

Rouge and Cyclopes make it in time. Thankfully receiving Logan's message on the way here. Scott rushes to her side, "Jean, I'm here."

Jean speaks through the pain, "This doctor won't deliver our baby."

Scott suggests Rouge collect the doctor's knowledge, she does so with little hesitation. Getting her to a room, the birth begins. Waiting outside, time seems to slow, but everything becomes clear as we hear the soft cries of a baby. Stepping inside, Logan wraps an arm around me, enjoying the sight of Nathan Charles Summers greeting the world.

After the trial, Magneto is pardoned, with beginning talks of Genosha becoming a UN Nation.

Ororo returns, without her powers, a result of the siege during the trial. Lacking the skill and knowledge, I'm unable to help her.

Leaving her powerless, human.

By nightfall, she was gone.

We gather as Jean reads the note she left behind. My eyes water, unable to stomach her absence.

Then the doorbell rings, revealing...Jean?
