Chapter 61

01:24, 17 April 2014

I woke up with an awful headache, I looked around the room I was in. I didn't recognise it at all. I noticed I only had my underwear on. I rubbed my eyes and looked around the room again, I still recognised nothing at all. A body next to me groaned and moved, I screamed and covered my body with the blankets.

"What the fuck?! Shut the hell up!" Cody shouted at me. "Where the hell are we?" I asked as I let go of the blankets. "Go look out the window in the living room." He sat up with me. I did as I was told and then ran back into the room with a grin on my face.

"Oh my gosh! We have to get up and go shopping!" I jumped on the bed, Cody laughed at me. "Aren't you hung over at all?" "I'll grab some asperin." I sat down again. "You were so much trouble last night, you're never going to a party again." "I had fun!" "Do you even remember it?" "Sure."

"Really? You were in such a state." "I wasn't!" "Lauren, when we were on the airplane you tried to strip for me." "No!?" I shouted in shock, he nodded and laughed. "You were all over me, when I got you back here in bed you tried to have sex with me."

"We didn't?!" I gasped, he shook his head. "No, I'm not that type of guy. I told you no and you got pissed at me and then you passed out on the bed while you were changing. I left you as you were so I wouldn't wake you." He explained, I laughed at how stupid I am.

"It was a good night though." I pointed out, Cody laughed. "You did the two things you said you didn't wanna do." "I don't care, I had fun." "Sure.." "Trey, Mom and Dad can never find out though." I told him. "You'll have to do something to convince me not to tell them." He pulled me closer to him.

"Like what?" I asked, he kissed my lips. "I think you know what I want, baby." He kissed my lips again. "Now?" I was confused, Cody nodded slowly. "Then I'll take you shopping and we can have lunch too." He kissed my shoulder. "Let me just close the door." I looked at the bedroom door. "No one else is here, we can do whatever we want." He kissed my lips and smirked at me. Who can say no to that smirk?

"Alright. I gotta shower!" I caught my breath and then got up. "You're in such a rush, aren't you?" He laughed at me. "I wanna get out on the city. It's New York baby!" "We have all day and then we have tomorrow too." "How come?" "I wanted to take you away for the weekend." He said and pulled me back down.

"Hey, you left a mark on my leg." I pointed to a hickey on the inside of my thigh. "You've got one behind your ear too." He laughed. "That's not cool." I pulled the sheets over my body. "You loved it in the moment." "Sure sure." "You can't lie to me, I heard you." He nudged me, I rolled my eyes and got out of bed.

"I'm having a shower." I walked into the bathroom and took a shower. I followed my routine of getting ready and then grabbed my phone. "You look nice." Cody smiled at me. "Did you pack my suitcase?" "Alli and your mom did it." "When?" "We had dinner at yours last night." "Oh right." I nodded.

"Did you pack my purse?" I looked around the bedroom, Cody shook his head. "It's all on me." He smiled. "Seriously? You payed for everything, let my buy what I'm gonna buy today." "With what?" He smirked at me, I laughed. "Next weekend it would of been six months that we've been together."

"I know, why didn't we come here then though?" I asked. "This way it was a suprise when you woke up. Maybe a little too much of a suprise." "Sorry about that." I giggled. "Right, let's go." He put his phone and wallet in his pocket and picked up the hotel room key.

"What color?" I held up a white dress and a purple dress. "I really couldn't care less." Cody looked around the store. "I'll try them both on the-" "The white one!" Cody jumped in, I laughed and put the purple dress back. "I need to try it on now." "That's your size!" Cody groaned.

"I want to make sure.." "Lauren, you're either that size or this one and this looks too big." He picked up the size bigger. I rolled my eyes and walked towards the check out counter. "Spending his money for him?" The lady at the counter laughed, I did too and nodded.

"Yup." I grinned at Cody. "There you go, Sir." She handed him three more bags, together we carried the seven bags full of clothes. "Alright, food time." Cody perked up as I said that. "How much money have you spent on this weekend so far?" I asked.

"That's my business." "Cody.." "I'm not telling you." "Why not?" "It's a lot." "How much?" "Eat your lunch." I rolled my eyes and took another bite of my sandwich. "Let me take you out tonight." "Okay.. I can wear that new dress." I suggested, Cody nodded.

"Shall we take these bags back and then go for a walk?" Cody asked as we walked down the sidewalk. "Sure." "Cab?" "Uh huh." I nodded. We took our shopping bags back to the hotel, I changed into some new skinny jeans I'd bought and then put Cody's hoodie on and then we went back down to the city.

"Cody!" Someone shouted, we both turned around. "Can I get a picture with you please?" A girl asked, Cody nodded. "Want me to take it?" I offered. "Okay but then I want one with you too." She smiled at me. I smiled back and then granted her wishes.

"Also can you guys follow me on twitter?" She asked, I got out my phone. "Come on then." I clicked on search, Cody did the same on his phone. She told us her name and we both followed her, after that we said goodbye and carried on walking.

We both sat down on a park bench, I loved to watch all the little children who were playing by the fountain. "Cody, I want a baby." I looked at him. He let out a chuckle without looking at me. "You're sixteen Lauren." "But I want one!" I moaned, Cody laughed at me.

"When you're married you can have one." "I want one with you." I pouted at him. "When we're married you can have one." He corrected, I smiled and pecked his lips. I rested my head on Cody's shoulder. "Hey, where do I recognise that dude from?" Cody pointed to a guy.

"Oh no!" I sat up, Cody looked at me confused. "That's Josh's brother." I rose to my feet and pulled Cody up with me. I tried to drag him out of the park. "Lauren?!" Too late. "Hey!" I smiled as I turned to face him. "What are you doing in New York?" He walked towards us.

"I'm here with my boyfriend." I pointed at Cody. "Cody, this is Zac.. Zac, Cody." They shook hands. "I haven't seen you in ages!" "Years." I pointed out. "Here alone?" I asked, Zac shook his head. "Josh should of gotten here by now." "I've gotta go." I took a step backwards.

"You should wait and see him. You guys haven't seen each other in ages!" "I saw him a few weeks ago." I said. Cody gave me a weird look but I ignored him, I'm not gonna tell him about that. "We bumped into each other at the mall." I explained.

"Oh yeah, he told me about that. It was when we was visiting mom, right? Didn't you guys kis.." He trailed off as he looked at Cody. I shut my eyes tightly.. I'm in so much trouble! "Hey Za- Oh hey Lauren." Josh came over to us, he looked me up and down. "Sorry.." Zac appologized. "We're going now." Cody took my hand and pulled me away.

"Wanna explain?!" He raised his voice, I looked away from him. "Lauren!" I shook my head. "No? You don't want to explain." His eyes switched from eye to eye. "I wanna go back to the hotel." I turned to walk away.

"You're not going anywhere until you explain what the hell you've done!" He grabbed my arm and pulled me back. "Don't put your hands on me!" I pushed him backwards and ran to the street. I caught a cab without Cody and went back to the hotel.

The first thing I did when I got to the hotel room was ring Dan. "He-" "We're in New York and guess who we bumped into?!" "A bit slower.." He told me. "Cody and I are in New York and we were sat in the park and we bumped into someone.. Guess who that person is?"

"Josh?" "Yes but first Zac! He told Cody that I kissed Josh!" "What a dick!" "He didn't do it on purpose, I don't think but then Josh came over too. Cody is so mad at me and oh my gosh!" I vented. "Just breathe, Lauren. Stay calm" Dan tried to comfort me.

"How the hell am I supposed to stay calm?! He's going to murder me! Or even leave me!" "He's not going to leave you." "How do you know?! I'm s-" "Lauren?!" I heard Cody shout. "Is that him?" Dan asked. "Yeah. I'm scared, Dan." "Don't wor-" "Who are you talking to?" Cody walked into the bedroom.

"No one." I lowered the phone from my ear. "Someone esle you're going behind my back with?" "Someone else?!" I got mad. "Yes! I watched you kiss Dan yesterday!" He shouted, I looked at my phone. "That's him, isn't it?" He nodded towards the phone, I shook my head.

"Don't lie to me." He warned as he walked towards me, I stepped backwards. "Give it to me." "No." I refused. "Lauren Miller! Give me your phone!" He shouted, I handed it to him. Cody threw it at the wall, I jumped as it smashed against the wall.

"When did you kiss this jerk then?" "Wh-When Dan an-" "There he is again." Cody rolled his eyes and walked away before turning back around and walking towards me once again. "He's my best friend Cody!" "No! Alli is your best friend, Madison is your best friend! That guy is not your best friend!" "I can't be friends with guys then?"

"Nash, Cameron, Ma-" "The ones you like?" I folded my arms and tapped my foot on the floor. "I liked him." "What happened?!" "He made my girlfriend kiss him!" Cody raised his voice back to shouting. "Made me?!" I matched his volume.

"He gave you a whole speech on how he 'loves' you but it was all lies! You're so fucking stupid! Every guy thinks your hot! They all want you, he got you to believe him and he got you to kiss him!" His voice got even louder as he carried on.

"You continue to use the fact that I kissed someone else but you're nothing better! You can't just stick to one guy, can you?!" "Excuse me?!" "You heard me! Focus on one guy and maybe this won't happen!" He opened the bedroom door.

"You're saying I'm a slu-" "I'm saying I want a break." He said calmly, my heart stopped. "You what?" I breathed. "Pack your suitcase, we're going back to California." He left the room. I followed him. "So that's it? We're over?" "I said a break!" "Don't expect me to wait for you forever!" I shouted at him as he opened the hotel door. Cody came walking back to me.

"So you're just going to jump in bed with another guy?!" He raised his voice. "Who do you think I am?!" "I think you've changed. I don't know who you are anymore." "You won't even let me explain?" "What do you have to explain? You kissed another guy, Lauren!"

"You're one to talk!" "I didn't lie about it for weeks!" "I watched you do it, Cody! You couldn't hide it from me and I know you would of lied to me!" "Do you miss him?" Cody walked back and forth. "No." "Why did you kiss him then?" "I don't know." "You said you wanted to explain, so come on do it!"

"I wasn't thinking, he did it and I didn't move away. I didn't kiss him back I just let him kiss me." I explained. "Why should I believe that?" "Ask Dan, he was there." "I watched you kiss him." "Oh shut up." I rolled my eyes.

"Explain that one for me then? I don't understand it." He looked at me. "He told me he loves me, I felt sorry for him. I did it with you there because I thought you'd understand but obviously you're so selfi-" "So selfish I don't want to share my girlfriend?" He suggested.

"You wanna know something esle you didn't tell me?" He asked, I nodded. "That guy you met at that house party, you guys got a bit close too." He started. "No we didn't." I laughed. "You think this is funny?" "You're falsly accusing me of cheating on you!" I defended myself.

"You were blowing smoke into each other's mouths. In my books, that's cheating!" "I didn't cheat on you!" "Three times!" He got loud again. "I didn't!" "You got anything esle you wanna tell me?" He got closer to me, I pushed him backwards.

"Don't get close to me!" "I tried so hard to get you a career and to make your dreams come true and this is how you repay me? Thanks a lot, Lauren." He said sarcastically. "Guilt trips aren't gonna work on me!" I pushed him away from me.

"Do not push me!" "Or esle what?" I pushed him again. "Don't touch me!" He pushed me backwards. "You're mad, huh?" I tested him. "Get packed." He told me, I laughed at him. "You're done shouting now then?" "Just go!" He raised his voice again.

"I forgot how much I used to hate you." I smiled and then walked towards the bedroom, Cody grabbed my arm and pulled me back. "You hate me?" "Get off me!" I slapped his hand away. "You're just so full of yourself, you think everyone loves yo-" "You'd think that would annoy me but after hearing you say it every day for three years I kinda got used to it."

"You want me to care? Well if that's the case go and find Jenna, or even Carrie, I'm sure they'd love to listen to you sob stories." I turned around only to be pulled back by Cody. "Don't touch me!" "Don't use my past against me!" "Get your hand off me." I looked at it.

"Make me." "I will hit you so hard if you're not careful." "I'm so scared." He said sarcastically. "Get your hands off me!" I pushed it away. "I'll touch you if I want to." "No." "Yes." "You have no right to put your hands on me." He pulled me towards him by my waist.

I raised my hand and slapped him around the face. "That'll teach you to touch me." I smirked, Cody pushed me against the wall and pinned me there. "Do you wanna do that again?" He raised his voice. "Cody, don't do this." I turned my face to the side.

"Look at me." He instructed, I did as I was told. "Don't ever do that again." I tried to get out of his grip as he shouted at me. "Cody! Please let go!" I begged him, his grip tightened on me. "Now you're going to go and pack your bags. We're going to get on a plane and go home. We're going to take a break and that's that. Okay?" He spoke into my ear.

After a long, silent and awkward flight home we finally arrived at the airport. "Put your hood up and take my hand." Cody instructed, I put my hood up but didn't take his hand. "Lauren!" I jumped as he shouted and then took his hand. He held onto my hand tightly as we walked through the airport.

"Get in the cab." He pushed me towards the door. "Charming!" I said sarcastically as I opened the door. "I wasn't trying to be." He pushed me into the car. We sat in silence, it turned awkward again so I got out my phone to text Dan.

Me: Dan, are you busy?xxx

Dan: No, why?xxx

Me: I need to see you :( xxx

Dan: Come over and we'll go out to the beach xxx

I put my phone in my pocket and looked out the window, I noticed Cody was looking at me. "What do you want?" I spat at him. "You're not meeting him." He told me, I scoffed. "You have no say in what I do. You're no longer my boyfriend." I smiled at him.

"I said a break." "I heard a break up." I smiled again, Cody didn't look impressed. "Fine, do what you want. I don't care but don't expect me to pick you up when you fall." He said as the cab stopped. I thanked the driver and got my suitcase out of the trunk.

"You're not walking home." Cody stopped me before I could walk away. "Watch me." "Do you not remember what happened last time?" "I bet you'd love for that to happen." I turned around. Cody came and stood infront of me.

"Take that back!" He raised his voice. "You think I want that to happen? Do you know what was going through my head when you called, I had to listen to you. I could hear the pain in your voice and the way you were begging him to stop. I was so scared. I've never been so scared in my life! So don't ever say that again!" He shouted the last part, I didn't move or say anything.

"Now put your suitcase in my car." Cody told me. I obeyed him before he could shout at me again and once again we sat in silence. "Thanks." I said quietly before getting out of the car. "See you later." He replied.

I took my bags inside, everyone was out of town visiting our Grandparents so I didn't have anyone to talk to. I decided to ask Dan to come over instead of going out and he agreed. There was a knock on the door so I went to answer it.

"Hey!" I smiled and leaned on the door. Dan pulled me in and hugged me tightly. "Are you alright?" He asked as we walked into the living room. "Supprisingly yes I'm fine." I smiled and sat on the couch. "But when he found out he got mad about me kissing you yesterday after school."

"Why did you do that?" Dan asked. "I felt sorry for you, what you said touched me and I wanted to make you happy. That's all I could do as I can't date you or anything so yeah." "You could." "I can't." "Why not?" "I have a boyf- Oh yeah." I realized.

"But I just broke up with him." I pointed out. "I know, I wasn't asking you out." He laughed slightly, I did too. "When do your parents get back?" "Tomorrow night." "So you're alone tonight?" I groaned loudly as I realized that was true. "Dammit!" I added.

"Oh I know, I'll get Cameron or Madison or someone to sleep over." I smiled, Dan sat up. "Cameron?" He questioned. "Dallas." "You like him, huh?" I nodded. "Can I just do something?" Dan asked, I nodded slowly. I was confused at what he wanted to do.

Dan put his hand under my jaw and pulled my chin towards him, he closed the gap between us. Our lips moved together. I wish I could say it was amazing but it wasn't. He's not Cody. I pulled away after a while. "I'm sorry. That was really innapropriate. I'm going to go home now." He spoke awkwardly and got up.

"It's fine, just stay here." I got up too, Dan walked towards the front door. "I'm really sorry." He appologized one last time and then left. I sighed and closed the front door behind him. I got out my phone and rung Alli.

"Girl!" Alli answered pretty much straight away. "Can you come over?" "Sure, we need to talk anyway." "He's told you then?" "He was hitting the wall, kicking things and pushing stuff over! He's so mad." "Seriously?!" I was shocked. "Yeah and when I asked him what happened he went mental." She explained, I laughed.

"Right I'm gonna order a pizza so come here and we can eat pizza, watch movies and talk." I suggested, Alli agreed and we followed that plan. I went and got into the shower and then followed my usual routine.

"Alli Simpson is in the building!" I heard her shout from downstairs. "And the pizza just arrived!" She added. "Bring it up here and we'll get into bed!" I shouted down to her, she came in the room with her pyjamas on. "You walked here in your pyjamas?" I laughed and got into bed.

"No, Cody made me let him bring me." She explained as she joined me in bed. We put a DVD in and sat back down with the pizza. "I had this for dinner last night too." I giggled. "How come?" "Madison came over and we ate it as we got ready for the party." I said.

"How was it?" "Good." I smiled, Alli did too. "So what happened?" She asked. "We saw Zac when we were in the park and we were talking and he brought up that Josh and I kissed while he was here in California." "Why was he over here? And so you did actually kiss him?"

"He was visiting his mom and I did but I didn't." "How does that make any sense?" "I let him kiss me, I didn't move away but I didn't kiss him back. I wanted to tell Cody but I was scared." "Scared of what?" "Scared he would leave me." I felt a tear roll down my cheek.

"I'm so sorry, Lauren!" She wrapped her arms around me. "Does he know that?" "He wouldn't listen, he was so mad. He let me explain but he didn't believe me, he just got even more mad." "You slapped him." She tried to hide a smirk, I giggled.

"He kept touching me. I did warn him but he didn't listen." Alli giggled at me, I did too. "Did he say it hurt?" "No. He just shouted at me." Alli said. "Why at you?" "I think he was just shouting, I walked into his bedroom and he was punching the wall." "Oh my gosh!" I gasped.

"Is he mad at me?" I asked, Alli shook her head. "He was at first but now he's just mad. He regrets saying he wanted a break." "I kissed Dan." I blurted out, Alli's head shot towards me. "When?! Does Cody know?!" "Like an hour ago and no." "I thought you meant while you were together."

"No. Well yes but it wasn't a proper kiss." "What do you mean?" "I just pecked his lips, I felt bad for him. He told me he's loved me since we started high school and I dunno." I shrugged. "Aw bless him!" "I know! And I waited for Cody to be there so I wasn't going behind his back." I explained.

"You're smart." She nodded in approval. "Thank you." I smiled. "I'm tired." I yawned and layed back in the bed. "Me too." Alli did the same. "Do you think you'll get back together with Cody?" "I don't know. I want to but this time it just feels like it was supposed to end." I shrugged.
