6- Your share of secrets

01:51, 5 April 2016

"Oh my god. How do I fucking brake?!" Karlie asks the blonde singer.

Both women had decided on going skiing the day after the whole serious talk and all, since the weather was amazing this day and Taylor wouldn't stop complaining about it.

"You just put them together and press on the leg that is like.. facing the foot of the mountain." Taylor explains. "Wait, ill show you." She makes a turn down the mountain and shows the spy the way to brake with a huge smile on her face.

"NO!" Karlie shouts then. "Don't go so far!" She is scared to get left behind on this stupid mountain while Taylor is skiing around and having the time of her life.

Taylor starts laughing then. "Come on Karls, you can do it." Karlie stares at Taylor then, uncertain why she even agreed to the whole skiing thing. Taylor is wearing a black ski jacket with some light pink ski pants underneath it. She also wears a white helmet and a pair of ray bans. Her smile is as wide as Karlie had ever seen it and the green eyed woman now remembers again, why she had agreed to this torture.

"Okay.." She mumbles, letting herself slide down the mountain in a slow pace and trying to do the same thing that she had seen the singer do about 10 times now. She falls though. Again.

"GOD DAMMIT!" She swears loudly. "I HATE THIS!"

Taylor cant stop laughing and clicks out of her skies while watching the green eyed girl struggling to get up with her ski's still on. Karlie is wearing a grey ski jacket with black ski pants. She also wears a helmet, a black one and has a pair of black sunglasses on her nose.

Taylor takes Karlie's gloved hand in hers and pulls her up. The girl starts sliding down the mountain immediately again but Taylor holds her waist securely, making sure she wont fall again. "Just try it again." Taylor says softly, smiling at the model in front of her.

Karlie sighs, melting under the singer's touch. "Fine." She huffs as she stands sidewards again, the two ski sticks securely in the snow so she cant move. Taylor bumps Karlie's helmet with hers and lets her go. She clicks back into her own ski's and shows Karlie the braking part again. She doesn't mind teaching the girl how to do this. She enjoys it.

Karlie takes a deep breath and looks up at the blue sky above her. Its a warm day today, she didn't even know it could be this warm in the snow. But the sun on her back is making her a sweaty mess, and so is Taylor and her pretty face.

She lets herself slide down the not so steep hill and tries turning to her other leg and braking again. It actually works this time and she finds herself doing it a couple of more times before she stops all the way at the foot of the little mountain. When she looks up to where she came from, Taylor is still standing there, cheering for her with her arms up in the air.

'Its good that no one can recognise her with this outfit she's wearing. Silly woman.' Karlie thinks with a smile on her face. She watches how the singer easily races down the mountain and smiles widely when she reaches her.

"Yay! You did so well Karlie!" Taylor shouts excitedly when standing still next to the girl. Karlie smiles proudly, looking at the mountain she just descended down from and frowns when seeing it wasn't so steep at all.

"Thanks." She mumbles anyway at the singer who is already making her way to one of the ski lifts. "Oh." Karlie says, following the girl as quick as she can.

After almost falling out of the ski lift when getting in, her and Taylor are sitting in one of the many chair lifts that are going far up the hill.

"You seriously think I can ski down this fucking mountain?" Karlie says in disbelieve, again fearing what she got herself into. "This one is so much higher than the other one."

"Calm your tits." Taylor replies with a smile on her face and her comment makes Karlie laugh. "Seriously, you'll be fine. Ill protect you." Taylor says, bumping her shoulder against the other woman's.

"Oh how the rolls have changed." Karlie says, smiling at the blonde who is enjoying the view of the amazing landscape. When the end of the lift is there, they lift the barrier up and hop out of the chairs.

"Come on!" Taylor shouts at the dark blonde haired girl. "Lets go this way."

Karlie giggles at the girl's enthusiasm and follows her as fast as her inexperienced skiing legs will let her.

The rest of the descends go pretty well. Karlie only fell three more times and is very happy to see that Taylor is already stopping in front of a cute looking, wooden restaurant at the side of the slopes.

"Im so hungry. Oh my gosh." The singer says, clicking out of her ski's and helping the green eyed woman with hers.

"Me too." Karlie says. They both make their way over to the busy terrace where loud, German and Austrian music is filling their ears. Both girls sit down at a table for two, right in the sun. A staff member immediately comes to take their order. She starts in German but when she notices the girls don't have any idea what she's says, she smiles and asks "Would you like anything to drink?" With a very present German accent.

"Oh.. yes.. uhmm.." Taylor says. "A diet coke please."

"Oh, for me too." Karlie says. The woman writes the order down, lays two menu cards on the table and then walks away.

"Gosh, its so warm. I never knew it would be so damn warm here." Karlie says, taking her helmet off and putting it down on the bench beside her. Taylor giggles at the woman's messy hair and Karlie quickly puts it in a bun. Taylor then takes her helmet off too, revealing her half-long hair.

"I love this. I heard you get really tanned from the sun in snowy mountains." Taylor says, laying her helmet away too and brushing through her hair with her hands. Both woman look into the menu then and don't understand a thing it says.

"I.. I think im just gonna go for a sausage with some fries." Taylor says, having learned sometime ago at one of her tours in Germany, that 'Würstl' means sausage and 'Pommes' mean fries.

"This looks like pancakes though. Look." Karlie says, pointing at one of the pictures on the menu. "I think im just gonna go for that."

Taylor looks at Karlie, who seems to be lost in the menu book, and smiles at the younger girl, finding her extremely adorable. "So this is our first date then huh?" Karlie immediately looks up at the singer, her heart rate going up in a fast pace.

"Ha.." She laughs nervously. "Date huh?"

Taylor starts laughing loudly at the green eyed girl's red face. "I was joking, Karlie." She says in between loud laughter. She takes off her sunglasses to wipe her tears away that have fallen on her cheeks from the laughing. "You're so cute. Gosh." She says, laying the pair of sunglasses on the table. Karlie looks away from the singer, avoiding her gaze. The staff member returns with the two cokes then and asks them for their order. Taylor orders both the 'Würstl mit Pommes' and the 'Kaisersmarnne' which are the pancake things Karlie wanted to try.

She looks over at Karlie then and sees the girl's face become extremely pale suddenly. The green eyed girl picks Taylor's sunglasses up from the table and quickly puts them on Taylor's nose. Taylor looks at her with a confused expression while the friendly staff member is still scribbling the order on her notebook. She looks right at Taylor then and says with that same accent: "You look so much like my biggest idol. Wow."

Taylor swears her heart stops beating that exact moment. How could she be so dumb. She is in the middle of a crowd of people. A normal crowd of people. And she is Taylor Swift. She quickly looks away from the girl and mumbles an "Oh."

The girl smiles and disappears into the restaurant again.

"We have to go. Now." Karlie says then, feeling sick suddenly. Taylor just nods and then gets up from her chair, quickly putting her helmet on. Karlie puts a 5 euro bill on the table for the coke they got and then quickly makes her way back to where they put their ski's.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.." Karlie mumbles as she clicks into her ski's. Taylor does so gracefully while closing her helmet, all as calm as she can.

"Put this on." Karlie says hurriedly, getting a scarf out of her pocket and handing it over to the singer. Taylor does as she is told, knowing now is not the time for talking. 'How could I have been so stupid?' She thinks as her and Karlie speed off the mountain in a quicker pace. Karlie manages to stay on two feet the whole time and is very happy when they finally reach the foot of the damn mountain. Both girls throw their stuff into the car that is parked on the parking lot close to the end of the slope, and get in the vehicle.

The whole car ride back to the cabin is quiet. The only sound heard was the radio that Taylor had turned on to calm her nerves. She is already thinking of ways to be killed by those scary people that are hunting for her. What if that girl tells the news that she saw me here?

—————————————————————————————————————-

"Karlie, please calm down.." Taylor tries again but with no succes. Her green eyed protector is walking in circles through the room, punching and kicking the couch in anger every time she passes it.

"EVERYTHING IS WRONG NOW! WE ARE FUCKED!" She shouts at the singer who is sitting on that couch with her head in her hands. She has been crying for about a full hour now and her tears just seem to continue flowing out of her eyes and down her cheeks. Her mind is filled with fear, sadness and anger. Obviously less anger than in Karlie's though since she has never seen the girl this angry before, or anyone actually.

"Lets just watch the news tonight and see what happens." Taylor says, her voice soft in the quiet house. Karlie's footsteps sound again. "If they know you're here. They can be here tomorrow. We have to go." Karlie says, trying to contain her anger in her own body. She kicks the couch again however. "I SHOULD'VE THOUGHT OF THIS!" She shouts, making the blonde jump.

"Its also my fault. We just shouldn't have gone to that restaurant like that." Taylor says, a new load of tears making its way down her face. She honestly doesn't even care anymore and doesn't make the effort wipe them away.

"YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND!" Karlie shouts then, looking directly into Taylor's eyes. She takes a deep breath. "THIS IS.." Another deep breath. "This is exactly what I feared. I wasn't professional. You're my job Taylor. I am here to protect you and this was so, so far from that." The green eyed girl sighs and plops down on the couch, all the way at the other end of where Taylor is sitting, and starts sobbing into her own hands. "Its all going wrong.."

Taylor sits still for a few minutes then, not able to move, but then scoots closer to the other woman. "Oh Karlie.." She says, putting an arm around the younger girl and laying her head on her shoulder. "You cant always keep private and work separated." The singer says then. "I mean, look at my life. Its inevitable that those two things get mixed up." She strokes the younger girl's back with her hand and waits for a reaction.

"But.. It brings you in danger. You cant lose your life because of a stupid mistake." Karlie says, sitting up straighter, causing Taylor to lift her head of her shoulder. The two women lock eyes and Taylor cant help but think back of that night back in that bar. That night where Karlie had come and 'safe' her for the first time. That night where she saw those beautiful green eyes she likes so much, for the first time.

"But what is life worth, if you don't take any risks?" Taylor asks, her voice so soft now that it almost comes out in a whisper.

Taylor feels herself lean forward towards the green eyed girl. She knows it isn't supposed to happen. She knows its wrong. But she cant help it.

She notices that Karlie's eyes shoot down towards her lips for a mere second before she girl shoots backwards and looks the other way. Taylor sits there, staring at her, her eyes wide and her mouth agape.

"No.." Karlie says, panic all over her face. "No, no, no, no, no.. this is so wrong!" She says as her hands run through her hair wildly. She gets up from the couch and throws her hands up in the air as a sign of both panic and anger. The green eyed girl lets out a rushed breath, walks out of the living room area then and into the bedroom.

Taylor just sits there, that same surprised expression on her face as she watches the bedroom door close shut. She knows the girl is right. She knows its all so wrong. But how can she stop it? How can she not feel anything for the girl she feels so much for?

——————————————————————————————————————

Taylor spends the rest of the day in the living room, not moving from the couch as she watches the news. Nothing about her had come up yet, but she knows there is a pretty big chance that her face will be plastered on the tv screen once again. And so she keeps on watching it. The whole day.

She misses her family, her friends, her cats. She misses the normality of her own home. She lets out an airy laugh at her own thoughts. 'Normality..' She thinks. 'As if anything about my life is anything close to normal..'

Sometimes she wishes for it. A 'normal' life. But then, when she performs in front of half a million people, her mind changes immediately. Thats only temporary though. She loves her fans, she does. She just hates the paparazzi, the gossip and everything else negative that comes with being the most famous popstar on the planet.

When the singer looks out of the window then, she sees that its already dark outside. She must have been lost in her thoughts for a long while. Thinking about home.

A sound comes from somewhere else in the cabin then. The singer knows its Karlie coming out of the bedroom, yet she doesn't look around to check, finding it too awkward to face the younger girl. When she feels the weight of the cushions shift, she knows the girl is sitting on the other side of the couch. She keeps on staring at the tv though, not wanting to have any eye contact with the green eyed woman.

"Any news about you?" She hears the girl's broken voice ask then, making her head move to the side to look at her anyway. The poor girl looks so sad. Her eyes red and puffy, her face pale, mascara stripes running over her cheeks. Karlie notices Taylor's stare and wipes her cheeks, trying to get the stains away, without any succes though.

"No." Taylor replies, looking at the girl for a few more seconds before averting her gaze back to the tv.

They sit in silence then, both to scared to even start about their earlier 'moment'.

"Are you hungry?" Karlie asks then, her voice soft.

Taylor feels her belly rumble at the question, realising the two of them hadn't even eaten any lunch earlier and ate nothing after that either.

"Yeah." She replies, not looking at the girl but still staring at the tv.

"I still have some pizza in the freezer. Ill make some." Karlie says, getting up from the couch and disappearing in the kitchen. Taylor sits on the couch, watching the news, until Karlie calls her from the kitchen. The blonde singer gets up, stretching her hurting limbs out and making her way to the kitchen then. She is wearing some leggings and a thermo shirt, since that is what she was wearing underneath her ski attire. Not very sexy, she knows. But right now, she really couldn't care less.

When she walks into the kitchen she sees that Karlie has changed her clothes and is wearing a simple white shirt, her pink bra shining through, with some easy, comfortable looking, grey sweatpants. The green eyed girl had made the whole table, two pizza's waiting for the two of them right next to two glasses of wine.

"Figured we could use a bit of a drink." Karlie says drily, shrugging her shoulders as she sees Taylor looking at the wine glasses.

"Yeah, I don't mind." She says, sitting down across from the green eyed girl, still trying to avoid eye contact. Both girls start eating some pizza slices before Karlie says: "Taylor, im sorry that I got so angry earlier."

Taylor looks up at the girl and finally looks into her eyes then, finding it rude not to, especially after an apology. She notices then, that Karlie had got rid of the smudged make-up stains on her face and that she had applied a light new layer. "Its okay. I get it." She says simply, looking down at her plate right after, feeling awkward.

"I.. I really am sorry.." Karlie says, reaching a hand over the table and resting it on top of Taylor's, who almost stops breathing because of the sudden contact. She looks up and stares into those eyes again, not able to look anymore now as she seems to be captured by them.

"I.. I kn- .. know.. you are." She stutters, her cheeks warming up. She is never one for awkwardness and stuttering and yet here she is, unsure and insecure. "I mean. I get why you were angry. I just.." She stops talking.

"What?" Karlie asks.

"Were.. were you angry at me.. for.. uhmm.. you kno-"

"Oh gosh.. no!" Karlie replies fast, interrupting the stuttering mess that is Taylor Swift. "I wasn't angry because of.. ehm.. that." She explains. "I just.." She starts tracing patterns on the top of Taylor's hand with her thumb, looking down at their hands she continues: "I.. I became really scared and ran away.. I guess.." She says, looking up at Taylor again then.

"Oh." Taylor says, seemingly relieved a bit as she sighs and takes her wine glass from the table to take a sip.

"Im sorry." Karlie says, retreating her own hand from Taylor's to grab her own wineglass. "I.. I.. didn't mean to make you feel bad.. I was just angry and.. scared." She stares right into those blue orbs again. "Really scared." She says, giggling nervously.

Taylor is the one reaching over the table with her hand to grab ahold of Karlie's this time. "Its okay." The singer says, her confidence seeming to have returned. "I was scared too." She giggles and so does the younger girl.

They finish their meal with some light talking in the meantime and do the dishes together before both plopping down on the couch, both with a glass of wine in their hand, the news once more having their focus.

"Still nothing." Taylor says.

"Thank god." Karlie says. The girls are sitting closer to each other than before. They're now in the middle of the couch, Taylor's head on the younger girl's shoulder and Karlie's arm wrapped around the famous singer.

"Karls?" Taylor asks a few minutes later, a crime show now playing.

"Mhm?"

"The people who are after me.. who are they?" Taylor asks uncertainly.

"Taylor.." Karlie sighs.

"I know. I know you're not supposed to tell me.." Taylor says. "But tell me something at least."

Karlie seems to be thinking about telling the older woman or not and decides to just do it.

She takes a big gulp from her wine and puts the now empty glass on the small table in front of them. "Okay." She starts. "So you have certain underground criminals who kill celebrities to make sure they wont have too much positive power over the world. That being you, they wanna get rid of you." Taylor shivers, not sure if she can hear all of this but at the same time, too curious. Karlie scoots even closer to the blonde, somehow sensing her fear.

"Why would they want that?"

"Money." Karlie replies simply. "And they want people to be scared. I mean, if they want to kill the angel that is Taylor Swift, the people will realise that they are actually heartless, which is indeed the case."

"But.." Taylor starts, thinking about what Karlie is saying. "If the people who want to kill me get money, who do they get it from?" She asks.

"Depends, mostly the rich bosses of like little countries and billionaires and that. They just want power and the other ones working underneath them want the money." Karlie explains. "Do you get it?"

Taylor stays silent for a bit before saying: "Yeah, I mean I think so. Its always about money and power isn't it?"

"Yep."

"But who do you work for then?" Taylor asks curiously.

Karlie sighs, knowing she is overstepping an even bigger line if she tells the singer that kind of information.

"I mean you don't have to tell me. Sorry." Taylor says but Karlie decides to just do it, trusting the girl with everything inside of her and somehow wanting to get rid of all the secrets she has to keep. She is going to have to protect the singer for a longer while still anyway.

"I work for a secret agency and the special secret program from the government I work on now is the CSP. Which just means, Celebrity Saving Program." Karlie says. "I know thats like the dumbest name ever but well I-"

Taylor looks up from Karlie's shoulder. "So you're.. you're from the government?" She stutters. "You're like.. higher than the police and the army and all that.. you're.. you're my last hope then?"

"Well.. I wouldn't say it like that.." Karlie says, looking how all the color in Taylor's face seems to fade away. Karlie pulls Taylor closely towards her. "Im sorry Tay." She says. "You will have to do it with me."

"Holy fuck, this is really fucking serious then." Taylor says, her eyes wide in surprise as she wiggles out of the younger girls embrace, who looks surprised to hear Taylor swearing so much. "That means you're one of the most trained people on this earth." Taylor says in all seriousness, making Karlie giggle.

"Kinda, yeah. I mean theres still people above me but yeah. Im one of the strongest in the field." Karlie says, trying to be modest about her outstanding protecting, spying and assassination skills.

"Wow." Taylor says in disbelieve, as if now fully realising she isn't going to lead her relatively easy and 'normal' life any time soon anymore.

"Please don't freak out.." Karlie mumbles. "Im really sorry, Taylor."

"I.. I don't blame you.. I just. Im a bit shocked thats all. I didn't realise that you worked for the government up until now. Thats the real shit Karlie." Taylor says, still watching the girl with wide eyes. "It.. it actually only makes me more scared." She says. "Do you think the criminals know that were here now?" She asks nervously.

"I think we should leave tomorrow morning, just to be sure. I still have some adreses to go, here in Europe." The secret agent replies. "We should be fine then."

"How did you roll into this job?" Taylor asks as she sits back, curiosity takes over once more.

"Well thats kind of a weird story.." Karlie says, her hand scratching the back of her neck as her cheeks turn bright red. "I.. uhmm.."

"Its okay. You can literally tell me anything. Nothing will surprise me anymore now." Taylor says drily, making Karlie giggle nervously.

"Okay so my dad was one of the biggest criminal leaders in the States back in de days.." Karlie starts, waiting for Taylor's reaction. When there is none, she continues. "So, I started working for him around the age of 16 and.. umm.. I became their best spy a year later."

"Wait. So who did you spy on? Like the good people like.. like celebrities and important figures and stuff?" Taylor asks. Karlie nods quickly. "So that your dads people could kill them later?"

"Or capture them." Karlie says. "Okay.. or torture them. I didn't do any of that though."

"Okay. Wow." Taylor says, more surprised that she had expected herself to be. "So what happened?"

"Well, my dad got killed by the government." Karlie says, swallowing before continuing. "I mean don't get me wrong, he was a bad man. But he was also my dad, you know?"

Taylor nods in understanding and takes Karlie's hand in hers while staring into the girls eyes. "Anyways, the governments team unit found me after killing him and knew my reputation with the whole spy thing, and they took me in. Now five years later, im at the top of our squad." Karlie says, shrugging her shoulders. Taylor stayed silent, looking at the girl in awe. She realises then that their lives and the way they grew up, couldn't be any more different than they are. "Its actually kinda funny.. uhmm you have that song.. Bad Blood. That video clip always reminds me of our base back in New York."

"You have a life like this but you watch my video clips?" Taylor asks the girl in disbelieve, a smile forming on her face however.

"Im just a normal girl in my twenties too." Karlie replies, a smile on her face and a little blush coming up as she says: "Im actually a big fan of you. Like you have no idea how excited I was to be allowed to spy on you for half a year." Taylor looks at her with a funny expression on her face then. Karlie's face becomes worries and stressed right away. "Oh my god, that came out so weird. I just meant to say that.. I uhmm.. I really enjoy listening to your music. Jesus christ. I feel like a 16 year old fangirling over their biggest idol." Karlie's face is bright red now.

"Oh so im your biggest idol now. Im honoured." Taylor jokes, pushing the girls shoulder softly while smiling at her.

"Gosh, you know what I mean right? Im so bad with words sometimes." Karlie says.

"Well, you can also be really confident sometimes." Taylor says, still smiling at the girl.

"I Have to be. I learned that." Karlie replies, shrugging her shoulders once more.

"Well, as long as you just know, that you can just be 100% yourself with me. Okay?" Taylor says, smiling at the girl and then laying her head back on her shoulder.

"You aren't like shocked? Or scared of me? Or angry? Anything like that?" Karlie asks in disbelieve, staring at the blank wall beside the tv.

"Scared? Of you?" Taylor giggles. "No Karlie, im not scared of you."

Karlie lets out a breath she didn't know she was holding. "Oh." She mumbles. "Thank you."

"No need to thank me. Thank you for liking my music and for protecting me of course." Taylor says, a smile on her face. She means it, she does. But its just a weird feeling that the 23 year old that she is laying her head on, is a fan of her music, was a criminal, and is now a secret agent for the government. 'What even, is life.' She thinks, wrapping an arm around the green eyed girl.

"So you still.. like me?" Karlie asks hesitantly.

"Who said I ever liked you?" Taylor asks sassily, lifting her head up just a little to look at the younger girl's face. Karlie turns completely red and gives Taylor a push, which makes the singer laugh.

"Oh stop it." Karlie says. "You know what I mean."

"Yeah." Taylor replies, a smile on her face as she lays her head back on Karlie's shoulder. "I do."
