Surprise Birthday Party

We were out patrolling today with Nirei and Suo, it is also April Fools day..that means..it's our birthday.

Of course Haru and I greeted each other as soon as midnight fell, we promised each other that we would be the one to greet each other first when our birthday comes up, probably the reason why we never forgot about it.

Other than that, no one seems to be aware of the occasion today. 'That's for the better, it's just any other day after all'

"They just texted that we need to do extra rounds today" I snapped out of my thoughts as soon as I heard Suo's voice from beside me.

"What?! Ugh" Haru grumbled in defeat, his energy lowering. 'Can't blame him'

"Looks like we'll have to be with each other longer!" Nirei happily exclaimed as he clasps his hands together.

"Mhm that seems to be the case~" I smiled over at him as I nodded my head.

"Well I guess it's better than sitting around" Haru said as he shrugged his shoulders as he walked on ahead.

As we were walking around, town folks handed us some treats as we passed by, smiling over to us all as we walked. 'Hm they're so nice as usual..I don't think I'll ever get used to this-'

"Feels nice doesn't it?" I looked over to Suo who just spoke from beside me, smiling as usual.

"The what?" I asked as I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Being appreciated by people"

"O-oh..yeah..it certainly does. Sometimes I feel like I don't deserve it to be honest" I replied as I looked on ahead, watching Haru who was walking in front of me.

"I feel like he deserves it more" I continued as a small smile crept on my face.

"You know it doesn't work that way. Whether you do something big or not, the impact depends on each person. It depends on how they take it and how they see it. If they appreciate your efforts, that's more than enough, big or small." Suo said as he also turned his head away.

"Hm...I guess I've never thought about it that way" I muttered out before ruffling my hair as I sighed out.

Haru turned around and faced us, stopping in his tracks which made us pause as well. "There's nothing going on, can we get back now?" He said as his shoulders slumped.

"O-OH! Look at that! They just informed me that we have to buy some stuff urgently!" Nirei said as he looked at his phone, beads of sweat rolling down his face.

"We're gonna buy some stuff....?..For what?" I asked as I tilted my head and stared at him.

"A-ah- I'm not sure..they just said they need it" He said as he looked off to his side.

"Well then, I guess it's an emergency. Let's head on our way" Suo said as he pulled us over, his hands wrapping around our shoulders as he spoke.

"Why us? Can't someone else do it?" Haru said as he crossed his arms.

"Maybe they're busy Haru"

"Still-"

"Hush now, let's go" Suo dragged us away before Haruka could say any more things to complain about.

"Ugh these are heavy" I complained as we held bags of fertilizers and some seeds, already knowing who sent it out for us to buy.

"Hand it to me" I heard Haru say which made my eyes dart over at him. 'No way in hell'

"Why would I?"

"You said it was heavy!" 'Well yeah I did-'

"Doesn't mean I need help Haru, thank you for offering your help though~" I answered as I just brushed him off with a smile.

"Sakura-kun I think I need help-" Suo said, popping beside Haruka which made him jolt in surprise.

"C-carry it yourself dumbass!" He said as he moved away from Suo. I only chuckled as I watched them.

"Awh I thought you'd help me" Suo replied, a teasing smile growing on his features.

I looked over at Nirei who was looking at his phone while carrying some bags of seeds in his hands, "What else do we have to do Nirei-san?" I asked.

"O-oh- uhm wait I'll ask" Nirei answered as his fingers moved quickly to type on his phone.

I just hummed out a reply as I waited for him to speak again.

"Apparently...we can head back now, we just have to drop the stuff we bought up at the rooftop" He said as he looked up at me, smiling.

"Is that so? Okay then"  I said as I nodded my head at him.

"That means we're all done here right?" Haru said as he glanced over at us.

"Mhm~" Suo hummed out, smiling gently as he looked at something ahead of us.

After a few minutes of walking, we made it back at Furin. 'Pheeew finally, that felt like it took ages-'

"You two bring the stuff upstairs, we're being summoned else where! Take care you two!" Suo said as he ran off with Nirei, leaving Haruka and I staring back and forth with each other.

"Did they just leave us to carry all this shit up at the roof top..?" Haru asked as he just stood there in shock, his eyebrows slowly furrowing.

"YOU TWO GET BACK HERE!" He shouted but they were already long gone.

I shook my head and just sighed out, tapping his shoulder gently. "Let's go Haru so we can go home faster. We can buy some cake on our way home" I smile, cheering him up as I carried my own fill of bags. 

"Alright.." He replied before following after me as I walked ahead.

'Haaahh..I thought walking around carrying these bags were already a pain in the ass but carrying 'em up the stairs is even worse!' 

"Finally reached the last steps.." I breathed out a sigh of relief as I reached for the door knob of the roof top, Haruka standing just beside me.

"I swear I'm going to kill those two" He said as he glared at the wall, probably imagining Suo's and Nirei's faces-

I chuckled out and turned the door knob, opening the door fully before I replied to him.

"I'll go and join you on-"

POP! 

" -....that........?"

"Happy Birthday to our favorite mismatched hair twins~!!!"

'What..?'

'What is this..?'

'Our classmates..some second years and third years...Kotoha...even Togame and Tomiyama are here..'

'Why is everyone here..?'

Haru and I dropped the bags we were holding as confetti hit our faces gently, I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

They were holding party poppers in their hands, others held drinks and foods, Suo and Nirei were holding two cakes. The rooftop is decorated..

'I thought no one knew about it...how did they....

.......why...?

It has always been..

...just the two of us...'

[Short Flashback]

"Haru-nii!! Happy Birthday!"    "Happy Birthday Hima~"

"Just us again huh?"  'Mhm just us'

"It's midnight Hima, Happy Birthday"   "Happy Birthday Haru~"

I never really found why birthdays were celebrated with such big groups.

I only celebrated it because I knew I'm always with him.

It was our special day, I didn't care about any other birthdays.

You were the only one who was with me after all.

'..I....'

 'didn't realize how much'

'..our world grew out to be..Haru..'

"Hey why are you two crying?" I snapped out of my thoughts as I heard Umemiya's voice, everyone started to surround us.

"I told you we shouldn't have used that nickname Kaji! Look they're crying!" - Enomoto

"I-I d-didn't know they'll cry about it! Plus I wasn't the one who pushed it dumbass-"  - Kaji

"Then who-" - Enomoto

"Him!" - Kaji pointing at Togame

I didn't realize I was crying not until they mentioned it, I placed my palm gently against my cheek, it's wet..

I let out a breathy laugh as I held my face, I could feel my face heat up as their eyes bore into my soul. 

"..Hima..?" I glanced over to see Haru staring at me, his face is red.

"I'm happy..I never thought birthdays..could be this....cheerful" I said as I smiled up at him, his expression softening as he returned the smile.

"Yeah..can't believe it too"

SNAP SNAP  

"Woooh~ I must be in heaven, to see them both smiling like this..." Kiryu said as he held his phone, snapping pictures of us. 'What is he saying?'

"It's quite the sight" Tsugeura added, smiling brightly.

"Okay okay! You two blow your candles, it's melting" Suo said as he walked closer to us, the cutely decorated cakes in both his and Nirei's hands.

We both blew out the candles at the same time, everyone cheered and clapped their hands before we all began to just goof around and have some fun.

Minutes in, they're already handing us all kinds of gifts-

Kiryu gave us some games we could play together- and some ear buds- 'Aren't these expensive- Should I really take them-'

Tsugeura gave us a fitness book.. 'Thank you.....for the greater good'

Nirei gave us some sweets- 'What a sweetie'

Suo gave us some all kinds of teas we could try- 'I love teas!'

Kotoha gave us some cute little coin purses- 'I'll use 'em right away!"

Umemiya gave us some little potted plants saying we should decorate our house with it-

Kaji gave us some lollipops- 'Thank you I'll snack on these!'

Tsubaki gave us some matching black and white bracelets, with charms in it! 'Cute!'

Togame gave us a pack of Ramune.. 'Thanks-'

Tomiyama gave us some bread buns- 'Delicious~'

And a lot more gifts just kept coming in!

I'm very happy..

Earlier I wished for something special...and that is,

I hope they'll stay in our lives forever
