Four (Levi)

Today we have the house check and mental health check so we took the day off work. Nico is on crutches but that didn't stop him from looking his best and getting around. We had an hour before Loren arrived and we were cleaning and making the house look tidy as hell.

The hour flew by and before we knew it, Loren and three other people, two men and a woman were behind her, we welcomed them in "Nico, Levi, this is Terrance, Henry and Robin, we're here for the house check, well Terrance and Robin are here for the house check, Henry and I will be doing your mental health checks" introduced Loren, we nodded and smiled, shaking hands with each of Loren's colleagues

"Hello! Would any of you like a drink? Tea? Coffee? Soda? Juice?" I asked rather anxiously, they all shook their heads and began their tasks, I was taken away by Henry. I inhaled sharply and we walked into the study that was soon to be a nursery "hello, Levi, my name is Henry as you may already know and I'm going to ask you a few questions on how you've been feeling the past year" says Henry, I nod and smile "ask away" I say in a cringey tone, god kill me. The ground best open up and swallow me whole after that *cue the face palm*

"So, how have you been feeling overall lately? Happy? sad?" Asked Henry, I thought about it momentarily, but not too long to make it seem as though I was formulating a lie "overall I've been very Happy this year actually" I reply, Henry nods and ticks something then writes something down, this strengthens my anxiety. "So, Levi, have you had any disturbing thoughts of harming yourself, Harming others or maybe even thinking of ending your life?" Asked Henry seriously, I shook my head "no not at all, I would never" I replied sternly, Henry nodded and wrote more things down yet again

"Ok and have you ever adopted a child before?" Asked Henry, I shook my head "no" I replied, Henry nodded and looked at his sheet attached to his clipboard "do you have childcare set out?" Asked Henry, I nodded "there is a daycare at the hospital where we can drop the children off and they can play with kids their age and nurses look after them, it means we can see them whenever we want" I replied, Henry nodded "you and your...husband? How long have you been together?" Asked Henry

"Nico and I have been together three years I think maybe? We got married last year and have been living together two and a half years, we know each other quite well and we share a strong bond" I replied "and Nico, how is he with kids do you know? Has he ever felt the urge to hurt anyone or himself?" Asked Henry "Nico is great with kids, he helps in the Paediatrics ward when there are kids with broken bones and has never ever wanted to hurt anyone or himself, ever, he is the most loving, kind and caring man I know" I replied, Henry smiled slightly

"So overall you would say that you and Nico are mentally and economically stable with a good plan and a good stable relationship?" Asked Henry, I nodded "yes definitely" I replied, Henry smiled "that's all then, thank you Levi" said Henry, I got up with him and smiled shaking his hand "thank you for your time, Henry" I say, I show him out of the study and down the stairs where we wait for Loren, Robin and Terrance. All come back and confer with each other

"We have decided that you two are very fit parents" begin Loren, Nico and I hold hands and smile at each other "this is why we have decided that we can let you adopt a child, in a weeks time we will contact you and tell you when to come down and sign the adoption papers and there you will meet the child or children we have chosen for you and they will talk with you depending on how old they are and if they are able to talk they will tell us whether they like you or not, then they will spend a week with you and I will come down to visit after that week and question you and the child or children" continued Loren, we soaked up all this information and nodded along the way.

"Thank you so much, we will most definitely be there next week, we thank you for your time today and your decisions, it means a lot to us thank you" says Nico, they nod and smile "we will see you next week, oh, and Nico, get well soon" says Loren, Nico smiles at her and nods "thank you, Loren" replied Nico.

They leave and we smile at each other before kissing "this is it" i say "we're getting a child, isn't that amazing" I continue "it really is" replied Nico. We sat on the couch and put on a movie I'm not sure which one and I snuggled up close to Nico. He ran his fingers through my hair as I laid my head on his chest and started dreaming of a child that we might get.

I kind of hope for twins, a boy and a girl but I guess twin girls would be cool or twin boys but we have only thought of one girl name and one boy name so we should discuss second ones just Incase, I like Kiera-Mae and Conor but I'm not sure about what Nico likes.

I imagine children running around in the back yard and chasing each other and laughing and having the best life we could possibly provide for them. That's what I've always dreamed of, getting married, having kids and raising them to be the best they can be. That's what I aim to achieve in the future.

Sorry for not updating often I have a load of revision and stuff and I hit a block where I wasn't sure what to write but then next few chapters will be the adoption process but don't worry I'll try and add some drama but I mean I had to get them the chance to have a kid or else that's just pure evil.
