Y/N- *looks at him uneasily* Like what?

Landlord- *whispers in your ear* 

Y/N- *eyes widen* *looks at him*

DIGGY’S P.O.V.

*later* 

Diggy- *walks in the apartment* Bab.. I mean, Y/N?

Y/N- *from her bedroom* Yeah?

Diggy- The landlord said that the rent is fine for this month. Said for me not to worry about it

Y/N- *walks out* Oh.. did he?

Diggy- *nods* *walks in his room* You know anything about that?

Y/N- Nothing.. I thought you handled it.

Diggy- *pauses* Yeah. *walks in his room and looks around* Y/N?

Y/N- Yeah…?

Diggy- *runs to you with a laptop* You bought me new stuff for my studio?!

Y/N- *smiles* You needed it. What label is gonna want a kid with an old laptop?

Diggy- *hugs you tight*

*a few days later*

Diggy- *walks up to the apartment*

Landlord- *walks downstairs* Oh, Diggy.. tell Y/N I said thank you for the favour. I hope she’s excited for tonight

Diggy- Tonight, why? And what favour?

Landlord- *smiles* She’d know about it *leaves*

Diggy- Oh.. okay.. *watches him go*

*that night*

Y/N- *puts her bag down* *sighs* 

Diggy- *walks out* Wow.. you look nice

Y/N- *chuckles a little* Thanks.

Diggy- *smirks* *looks you up and down* You er.. you been on a date?

Y/N- No.. just.. wanted to look nice today, I was out with a friend. 

Diggy- Oh.. well you look amazing. Red really suits you.. oh and I have good news for you.

Y/N- *looks at him* What?

Diggy- That office in Manhattan called today.. you got the PA job

Y/N- *jumps up* Seriously?!

Diggy- *nods* I’m serious

Y/N- *jumps in her heels and claps her hands* This is amazing! When did they call!?

Diggy- Earlier today.. you start on Monday.. wouldn’t that interfere with your classes?

Y/N- *shakes head* No… I can always catch up

Diggy- *smiles*

Y/N- You have no idea. This job pays so much, I can grow to so many opportunities.. 

Diggy- *hugs you* I’m so proud of you..

Y/N- And no more rent to worry about *smiles*

Diggy- How do you know about that?

Y/N- *shrugs* I just know. *walks to her room*

Diggy- *goes to the plant* *pulls the folded check out* *rips it up*

*the next day*

Landlord- *walks out of his apartment*

Diggy- *walks up to him* Can I ask you something? 

Landlord- Sure.. 

Diggy- *pauses* How did last month’s rent get paid?

Landlord- Y/N paid it

Diggy- How?

Landlord- She paid me the money by check… and she went on a date with my son. I said if she did that favour for me, it would be the rest of the rent covered. *walks away*

Diggy- *thinks*

YOUR P.O.V.

*months later*

Boss- You did an amazing job. *hands you your paycheck*

Y/N- *stares at it* Seriously?

Boss- *laughs* You deserve it.

Y/N- *smiles* *puts it in her purse* Thank you for everything

Boss- No problem. I hope he’s happy. See you tomorrow

Y/N- *leaves*

*phone buzzes*

Diggy- You finished work yet?

Y/N- Yeah. I’m ordering takeout tonight, got good news

Diggy- Alright :)

DIGGY’S P.O.V.

*a few hours later*

Diggy- *pulls up outside the university* *tries to call you* *call declines* *gets out his car*

It was odd for her to not pick up her phone at this time. It was 5pm and she would have finished classes by now.. I got out my car and went in the building to the front desk.

Diggy- Hi.. do you have a (your full name) here? I’m her… brother. It’s a family emergency

Receptionist- *types in the system computer* I’m afraid she doesn’t attend the college anymore

Diggy- *confused look* Are you sure? She’s been attending for the past year and a few months

Receptionist- *shakes her head* *looks at the screen* I’m afraid she dropped out two months ago. She’s not been enrolled in any more classes since.

Diggy- Oh.. thanks. *leaves* *gets in his car* *thinks for a while*

*at the apartment*

Diggy- How was college?

Y/N- It was.. good. *looks at him weird* You never ask me that *small laugh*

Diggy- *shrugs* Maybe I should take an interest in what you do

Y/N- It was fine. Just business management and how important it is.. it was boring

Diggy- *nods slowly*

Y/N- Oh, I have news for you. I got you a meeting at Def Jam Records.. Monday morning *smiles*

Diggy- *drops his fork* You’re kidding, right?!

Y/N- *shakes her head and laughs*

Diggy- Thank you so much! You have no idea how much this means to me

Y/N- Just bring your laptop, a demo or mixtape and your ambition. I got a few favours, the right way this time

Diggy- *picks you up and spins you around*

Y/N- *giggles* Diggy!! Put me down!!

Diggy- *stops and kisses you*

Y/N- *pulls away* *stands on the ground* Dig..

Diggy- I’m sorry, I’m..

Y/N- *shakes her head* No.. no that can’t be happening right now.

Diggy- I’m sorry. I guess I got too caught up in the moment

Y/N- *sighs* Just.. go to the building on Monday. *grabs her plate* They’ll be expecting you *goes in her room*

Diggy- *touches his lips*

*the next day*

Mia- …Her boss’s friend works there. She made a few calls, played and sent them some of your music and they wanted and interview with you. She made it happen

Diggy- But… why did she drop out of college?

Mia- She had to pay the rent

Diggy- Wait, what?

Mia- *sighs* The money Andre gave her was the last of her tuition money.. it was either pay for college or the apartment. She didn’t want to let you down.. or have you on the street. So she paid it

Diggy- I can’t believe she did that

Mia- She really believes in you Diggy. She knows that you can make it. That’s why she did it. And now you’re both fine, you’ve got your studio stuff and you’re going to Def Jam on Monday, it’s all good.. *continues walking*

I thought about it for a while as I walked beside Mia..

Y/N dropped out of college.. so I could pursue my dream and stay under a roof? She gave up her whole education and got a job just to be beside me and support me…. and did it all by herself? That was the most selfless thing anyone had done for me… I could never repay her for this

YOUR P.O.V.

Diggy- *walks in the apartment*

Y/N- *sees him* I don’t wanna talk about last night if that’s what you want

Diggy- *walks up to her* No, no it’s not. But, I know what you did..

Y/N- *looks at him* What?

Diggy- The rent.. the job, and dropping out of college. I know it all. And I know you’re going through a lot with the divorce..

Y/N- *looks down* 

Diggy- *holds your hands* And.. I just wanna say thank you

Y/N- *smiles*

Diggy- And last night? I don’t think it was a bad idea..

Y/N- Diggy, no it was. It was a little mistake.. *takes her hands away*

Diggy- It wasn’t, trust me… it wasn’t. *feels down your arms* Not if we do it like this *kisses you deeply*
