Part 1| Chapter 4: Stealing the Wand
20:18, 9 August 2025Later that night, the five VKs met in the boys' dorm to discuss their planβfinding the magic wand, stealing it, and running away. Of course, they wouldn't be staying in this beautiful land for more than a day, 'cause wouldn't that be too much to ask for?
"Whoo! Whoa! Ah! Whoa!" Carlos exclaimedβhe was playing a video game on their huge screen.
"Seriously, Carlos?" y/n said.
"It's fun!" he replied while waving the controls, still immersed in the game.
"Jay, what are you doing?" Mal asked Jay, who was shoving a bunch of things in a bag.
"It's called stealing," he replied proudly.
"Okay, what's the point?" she asked.
"Well, Mal, it's like buying whatever I want, except it's free," he stated.
"Okay. So, you could do that, or you could leave all of this here and pick it up when we take over the world," Mal suggested.
"You sound just like your mom," Evie told her.
"Thank you," she said. "At least I try," she added, looking at y/n pointedly.
"Yeah, I'm sure you're so proud," her sister replied, irritated. "Now, can we focus?"
Jay shrugged. "You do it your way and I'll do it mine," he said before stuffing the bag with more items.
"Die, suckers! Jay, come check this thing out," Carlos said, handing Jay the controls.
Jay grabbed them and jumped onto the platform, and soon even he was hooked onto the game.
"Guys! Do I have to remind you what we're all here for?" Mal asked heatedly.
"To prove to Mom that you're more like her?" y/n retorted.
"Fairy Godmother, blah, blah, blah. Magic wand, blah, blah, blah," Jay said, making Evie and Carlos laugh.
"This is our one chance to prove ourselves to our parents. To prove that we are evil and vicious and ruthless and cruel," Mal said loudly. "Yeah?"
"Yeah," Jay, Evie, and Carlos repeated.
"Evie, mirror me," Mal ordered.
"Mirror, mirror on the... in my hand, where is Fairy Godmother's wand... stand?" Evie asked the mirror.
"There it is!" Mal exclaimed once an image of the wand flashed on the screen.
"Yeah, but where?" y/n asked.
"Zoom out," Carlos said.
"Magic mirror, not so close," Evie told the mirror. "Closer. Closer. Closer."
"Can I go back to my game?" Carlos asked. "I'm on level three."
"Stop!" Mal ordered.
"It's in a museum. Do we know where that is?" y/n asked.
After typing something on his laptop, Carlos showed them the screen. "2.3 miles from here."
"It's gonna be a long walk," y/n said. "So, we better leave now."
"Come on," Mal said, leading the group.
They raced out of the dorm and into the hallway, only to realise that Carlos was missing. "Carlos!" Mal hissed.
"Coming!" he replied, hastily putting on his jacket and running up to them.

"Come on. Check your mirror," Mal told Evie as they arrived at the museum.
"Is my mascara smudged?" Evie asked, looking at her reflection in the mirror.
"Yeah. And, hey, while you're at it, why don't you see if you can find us the wand?" Mal asked.
"Sure. This way."
Evie lead the group, and soon they approached a set of double doors, also the front doors of the museum.
The five of them peered through the small windows in the door, where they could see Maleficent's spinning wheel placed in the center of the room, along with a security guard monitoring the cameras in a corner and a few other magical objects scattered around the room.
"That's your mother's spinning wheel?" Jay asked Mal and y/n.
"Yeah, it's kinda dorky," Carlos said.
"It's magic. It doesn't have to look scary," Mal replied. Then, she pulled out her mother's spellbook. "Magic spindle, do not linger. Make my victim prick a finger," she chanted.
"Impressive," Jay said sarcastically when nothing happened to the security guard.
"I got chills," Carlos added.
"You're gonna need to try a little harder than that," y/n said.
"Like you'd even be able to do anything," Mal snapped. "Okay, you know what? Prick the finger, prick it deep. Send my enemy off to sleep."
The guard got up, touched the tip of the wheel, yawned, and fell asleep underneath it.
"Not so dorky now, huh?" Mal said to the boys.
"Stand back," Jay said, taking a few steps back to kick the door open.
When y/n saw her ring glow, she said, "There will be no need."
When she placed her hand on the door, a few blue particles surrounded the knob before unlocking the door and letting her open it just as Jay attempted a kick to the door.
The girls laughed as Jay fell to the floor. "Coming?" Mal asked mockingly before kicking him playfully.
"Come on, Jay." Carlos tried helping him up.
"I'm good," Jay replied, pushing him away.
"Just trying to help," Carlos mumbled.

The VKs climbed flights of stairs until they reached the first exhibit, which were statues of all their parentsβCruella de Vil, Jafar, Evil Queen, Maleficent.
"Mommy?" Evie said while looking at her mother.
"Killer," Jay said when he saw his father's statue.
"I will never forget Mother's Day again," Carlos said fearfully.
Y/n and Mal glanced at their mother's statue, both in fear and awe, until Jay said, "Well, the wand's not here. Let's bounce."
"Let's go," y/n said, turning away.
She was so eager to get out of that room that she didn't even notice Mal wasn't following them. Once she did, was going to turn around to get her, but then she saw a brightly lit room, and for some reason she couldn't explain, she wanted to see what was inside.
When y/n walked inside, the first thing she noticed was a table of objectsβa rose, a book, and a keyβon the left. On the right, a line of clothes was displayed, in the centre a shimmering yellow dress and a royal blue suit next to each other. It didn't y/n long to realise that this room was dedicated to the Royal Family.
On the wall in front of her, a huge portrait of Queen Belle, King Beast, and their son, Prince Benjamin, was mounted. Y/n looked into the prince's eyes, how they shined through the drawing. He looked just like a dream, an unbelievable dream. Just like how she did in her dream, just a few days ago.
But, of course, he would stay just a dream. Because she wasn't here because of what she saw, but to betray the people who opened their land to them and steal an object so powerful it will free the villains and ruin this peaceful world.
Slowly, y/n backed away from the room, and then broke into a run, hoping to find the others so they could complete their mission and get out of Auradon. No strings attached, as always. And it always would be that way for y/n, what sometimes she wondered, did it have to be?
"Whoo!" Y/n heard Jay exclaim just as she entered the exhibit with the wand which Mal and her friends had already found.
They ran to the floor below, where the wand was kept at. Jay ducked under the railing, grinning wickedly.
"Jay, don't!" Mal warned.
"You're going to mess up the whole operation!" y/n whisper-shouted.
However, Jay ignored her and reached for the wand.
"Wait, no! No! Don't!" Mal yelled but it was already too late.
Jay was blasted back and a loud alarm started ringing all through the museum. "Ah!" he shouted as he was knocked backwards.
"A force field and a siren?" Carlos said while clamming his ears shut.
"That's just a little excessive," Jay said through a groan.
"Let's go!" Mal yelled.
"Hurry," Evie said.
"I told you so!" y/n growled at Jay, darting to the stairs with Mal and Evie.
"Come on," Mal said.
They managed to dodge the guard, who had woken up after the alarm rang, and passed through the front room before running out the door. However, only four of them had left the museum.
"Hello? Uh, uh, just give me one second. One second," Carlos said through a phone which was ringing at the front desk.
He pressed a few buttons on a keyboard, and eventually the alarm stopped. "Uh, yeah, yeah. No, false alarm. It was a malfunction in the, uh, in the 714 chip in the breadboard circuit. Yeah, okay, say hi to the missus," Carlos told the other person on the phone before ending the call.
"Carlos!" Mal shouted.
"You're welcome," Carlos said before running with them.
"Thank you," y/n whispered, feeling slightly grateful for his cover-up.
"Way to go, Jay. Now we have to go to school tomorrow," Mal groaned.Β
