Part 1| Chapter 2: The Plan
19:12, 9 August 2025The kids followed Maleficent to her house in a building which had a balcony overlooking part of the Isle. Maleficent sat in her throne while filing her nails. "You will go. You will find Fairy Godmother and you will bring back the magic wand. Easy peasy," Maleficent instructed them.
'So that's why she wants us to go,' y/n said in her mind before scoffing silently. 'Typical.'
"What is in it for us?" Mal asked.
"Matching thrones. Hers-and-hers crowns," she replied.
"Um, I... I think she meant us." Carlos pointed between them.
"Besides, what would we do with those items?" y/n asked.
Maleficent threw her nail file behind her and gestured for y/n and Mal to come closer to her. "It's all about you and me, babies. Do you enjoy watching innocent people suffer?"
"Well, yeah," Mal said.
"I mean, who doesn't...?" y/n added.
"Well, then get me the wand and you and I can see all that and so much more," Maleficent exclaimed, cutting her off. "And with that wand and my scepter, I will be able to bend both good and evil to my will!"
"Our will!" Evil Queen reminded her from her seat at the dining table.
"Our will, our will," Maleficent assured her. She then snapped at her daughters, mainly at Mal. "Y/n may have agreed to go, but if you refuse, you're grounded for the rest of your life, missy."
"I didn't know we'd have to do this," y/n said.
Maleficent raised an eyebrow. "Oh? So you're backing out?"
"N-no," she replied.
"What...mom..." Mal whined.
Maleficent squished her fingers together to gesture to Mal to stop talking before capturing her gaze in an intense staring contest. Both their eyes turned green, until eventually Maleficent's gaze overpowered Mal's.
"Fine. Whatever," Mal said after she was defeated.
"I win," Maleficent boasted.
"It's no fair that mom never makes you do the staring contest," Mal grumbled to y/n.
"And she knows why," Maleficent said spitefully, causing y/n to turn away in shame.
Mal rolled her eyes, oblivious to the real reason. "Does it have to do with her being 'older' than me?" she asked with finger quotes.
"Six minutes still counts," y/n said. "And let me just say, those were the best six minutes of my life," she added with a grin.
"Evie," Evil Queen called to her daughter. "My little evil-lett in training, you just find yourself a prince with a big castle and a mother-in-law wing."
"And lots and lots of mirrors," they said at the same time before Evie chuckled.
"No laughing! Wrinkles!" Evil Queen reminded her, making the smile fall from her face instantly.
"Oh, well, they're not taking my Carlos, because I'd miss him too much," Cruella said.
"Really, mom? You mean it?" Carlos asked hopefully.
"Yes. Who would touch up my roots, fluff my fur, and scrape the bunions off my feet?" she replied.
Carlos sighed. No matter how many times he hoped, it would never happenβhis mother would never love him. "Yeah, maybe a new school wouldn't be the worst thing."
"Oh, Carlos, they have dogs in Auradon," Cruella reminded him.
"Oh, no! I'm not going!" he said, suddenly fearful.
Y/n rolled her eyes. Everyone on the Isle knew that Cruella always told Carlos stupid lies, her biggest being that dogs eat boys who don't behave. That's how she got him to act like her servant all his life. Like a dog, ironically.
"Well, Jay isn't going either. I need him to stock the shelves in my store," Jafar said.
Y/n scoffed. "Stock or steal?" she asked.
Jafar ignored her and turned to Jay. "What did you score? Oh. Ooh," he exclaimed as Jay pulled a bunch of things out of his vest. "A lamp," he said excitedly once Jay showed him the final item.
"Dad. I already tried," Jay said when Jafar kept rubbing it vigourously.
"Ah!" he exclaimed before throwing it at Jay.
"Evie's not going anywhere until we get rid of this unibrow, hmm?" Evil Queen said.
Evie gasped and touched her forehead, though there was no hair between her eyebrows.
"What is wrong with you all?" Maleficent growled. "People used to cower at the mention of our names! For 20 years, I have searched for a way off this island. For 20 years, they have robbed us from our revenge... revenge on Snow White and her horrible little men."
"Ow!" Evil Queen exclaimed.
"Revenge on Aladdin and his bloated genie!"
"I will..." Jafar started angrily.
"Pop!" Jay put a hand on his chest to calm him down.
"Revenge on every sneaky dalmatian that escaped your clutches."
"Oh, but they didn't get baby. They didn't get the... They didn't get the baby!" Cruella said while cackling maniacally and squeezing the stuffed dog toy on her shoulder. It took everything in y/n not to laugh at the look on Carlos's face.
"And I, Maleficent...The evilest of them all, I will finally have my revenge on sleeping beauty and her relentless little prince. Villains!" she called.
"Yes," Evil Queen responded.
"Yes?" Jafar asked.
Maleficent smirked. "Our day has come. E.Q., give her the magic mirror," she ordered.
"Yeah." Evil Queen handed Evie an ornate hand mirror.
"This is your magic mirror?" Evie asked, slightly disappointed.
"Yeah, well, it ain't what it used to be, but then again, neither are we! It will help you find things," she explained.
"Like a prince?" Evie asked dreamily.
"Like my waistline," her mother joked.
"Like the magic wand! Hello!" Maleficent reminded her.
"Hello," she repeated.
"My spell book. My book. I need my... that book. Oh, ah! The safe. The safe. Queen, help me! I never can figure this thing out," Maleficent said while trying to and failing at opening the fridge door.
"Seriously, mom?" Y/n sighed to herself.
Evil Queen turned the knob and opened the door. "Voila," she said sarcastically.
"My spell... come, darling." She gestured to Mal. "Come. Oh... ooh! Oh, Oh. There she is. It doesn't work here, but it will in Auradon," she explained.
"And for me?" y/n asked her mother, slightly hopeful.
Maleficent side-eyed her. "Unfortunately, I'm not sure my magic will work for you. But..." She rummaged through the fridge before she found what she was looking for. "Here are you." Maleficent handed y/n a silver ring with a bright blue jewel. "This posseses magical properties. Use it well, and use it wisely."
Y/n nodded as she slipped the ring on her index finger. "Alright."
Suddenly, Maleficent's eyes turned misty and wistful. "Remember? When we were spreading evil and ruining lives."
"Like it was yesterday," Evil Queen replied.
"And now you will be making your own memories..." she said to Mal, handing her the book but quickly pulling it away, "...by doing exactly as I tell you." She then handed the book to Mal before saying, "Door," gesturing to the fridge door.
The kids packed their thingsβwhich didn't take too longβand left the rustic shack that Mal and y/n called home.
"Whoo! Let's get this party started!" Jay exclaimed.
"Carlos! Come," Creulla ordered.
"Who is the fairest of them all?" Evil Queen asked her daughter.
"Me," she replied with a smile.
"Ah!" Evil Queen said.
"You," Evie said, her smile fading.
"Yes, let's go," her mother said, smiling.
"Now, recite our mantra," Jafar told Jay.
"There's no team in 'I'," Jay said.
"Oh, run along. You're making me tear up," Jafar said.
"My bag," Jay said.
"Yeah."
"Dad!" he called.
"Coming!" Jafar replied.
"The future of the free world rests on your shoulders. Don't blow it," Maleficent told her daughters right before they left.
"Ah! Smells like common folk," Evil Queen commented as they stood near the limosuine which had just arrived.
"Come back here, now! Carlos! Ingrate," Cruella huffed as Carlos ran away from her, dumped his bag in the car, and got in.
"Bye-bye," Jafar said.
"The jackals have landed," the driver said through an earpiece once all five VKs climbed into the car.
"Bring home the gold!" Jafar said.
"Bring home a puppy," Cruella called.
"Bring home a prince," Evil Queen added.
"And we have to bring home the magic wand," y/n sighed. "What do you think, Mal?"
"I think that I don't want to think about it," she replied before silently staring out the window.
"You're looking a little washed out. Let me help you out," Evie told Mal before attempting to put blush on her cheeks.
"Ew, stop. I'm plotting." Mal backed away from her with a look of disgust.
"Well, It's not very attractive," Evie commented before biting into a blue crystal candy.
"You know, you could be less obvious," y/n muttered to Mal.
"Thanks, Ms. Expert At Being Evil," she replied sarcastically. "Wanna remind you who mom's favourite is?"
"Can you guys give it a break and enjoy the candy?" Evie handed y/n a gummy shaped like a kid and coated in sour sugar, which she profoundly refused.
"Oh! These!" Carlos exclaimed after biting into some chocolate. "It's salty like nuts, but it's sweet like I don't know what," he told Jay.
"Let me see," Jay said, then exlciamed, "Ew!" when Carlos opened his mouth to show him.
Jay hit Carlos to take some of the chocolate from his hand. "Ow!" he said.
"Stop playing with that," y/n ordered once she saw Mal fiddling with a remote.
"Or what?" she asked. Just to annoy her sister further, she pressed a button. "Oops," she said with a careless shrug.
"Look!" Evie exclaimed, catching everyone's attention.
When y/n looked out the window, she noticed that they were driving on the bridgeβand straight into the water.
"It's a trap!" Carlos shrieked.
"This is all your fault!" y/n exclaimed.
"Don't blame me!" Mal replied.
They all took cover, Carlos ducking under Jay, Evie and Mal hugging each other, and y/n clutching her knees, bracing for the impact.
However, nothing had happened. Instead, a shimmering golden bridge appeared in front of them, appearing and disappearing as they moved forward.
"What just happened?" Evie asked once they realised that they weren't in danger.
Mal smiled slightly. "It must be magic. You okay, sis?" she asked, her smile turning into a teasing smirk.
Y/n quickly let go of her knees and resumed her confident demeanour. "Don't act like you weren't shaken," y/n replied emotionlessly.
Mal scoffed before turning to the driver with the remote in hand. "Hey. Did this little button just open up the magic barrier?" she asked him.
"No, this one opens the magic barrier," he replied, holding up a golden remote. "That one opens my garage. And this button..." He pressed a button on the roof of the car, and a second later a division between the front and back of the car rose up.
"Okay. Nasty. I like that guy," Mal said.
Y/n sighed. "Next stop, Auradon."
